From Hermes to Raphael - Touch Pro, Fuze ROM Development

Dear friends,
I came from a Hermes to a Raphael... I was a valid and almost specialized contributor to the Hermes community but regarding Raphael I am back to the noob point...
Given he fact Raphael has loads of memory i changed the pagepool of the ROM i flashed [ROMeOS 2.1.04.20748] to 64.
After doing that o realize this ROM has several lockups as well as erratic behaviour...
As we say in Portuguese: «FODA-SE» which means «F*C*»...
Can the pagepool size influence the ROM and - therefore - device behaviour?
What is the maximum recommended pagepool size for Raphael?
P.S. Please note that i got my Raphael yesterday and I already flashed ALL ROMs available... Some are pure s*i*, some are quite nice a well as ROMeOS2 in spite of its instability...
Thank you for your eventual contribution,
Thank you in advance,
Raphael user who believes that there are still lots of cooks ti migrate...
Cheers.

I tried those rom's twice and they were unstable without changing the pagepool!
Several lock ups over less than 12 hours of use compared to NO lock ups with factory ROM or the other rom flashes.

Question regarding ROMs for this device

Hello everyone,
I'm a senior member over in the Herald forum, I have a T-mobile Wing, aka HTC Atlas / Herald... but I have a friend who is switching to Verizon and he really liked my Atlas, and wanted to get a PPC... so I was helping him with his purchase.
My main question is, who are the cooks and what are the best roms available for this PPC? I know this is kind of a vague question, because we have n00bs asking it all the time in the Herald forum, but I'm looking for a couple of opinions and a little help getting pointed in the right direction.
Basically so far I've found :
dcd's titan ROMs & kitchen 3.0.1
key's v1.2.5 cleaned 3.35 kitchen
Are those the 2 Rom's available for this device?
He is in the medical field ... so I'd like to set him up with the most stable, fastest rom available, since he needs his phone to be reliable. What 6.1 Rom are available and what do you guys think would be his best bet?
Basically, the moment my friend purchases this phone, he is going to come over and I'm going to flash it and install any other software he needs on there... so I was trying to get some input prior to.
Thanks in advance
Nexvision cooks up a mean ROM for sure...you gotta like bells and whistles, but they are among my favs...

For stability's sake, I'd suggest sticking to a WM 6 ROM as nothing is yet official and released in WM 6.1 for the Titan.
DCD's 1.7.x is solid and tweaked based upon the pre-GPS enabled WM 6 ROMs, PPCGeeks has some cleaned releases based upon last week's Sprint release (WM 6), and you've found my kitchen that is also just a cleaning (initiated by a1jatt) of last week's Sprint release, without any built-in tweaks to the base ROM, and only options to change and add to the ROM as one chooses. My latest version (1.2.5.1) appears to be running fine with no current unresolved stability complaints against it in the thread.

Manila2D Rom for charmer.

How come no one but the germans are making any manila2d roms ?
Just about every other phone on this forum has atleast half a dozen descent manila2D roms, even the angel which is about 600 years old ...
HTC Home is old news, we got to keep up with the times ....
And what is up with all the Wm6 and Wm6.1 roms and buggy camera drivers ? i have not been able to use my camera on any of the custom roms. And speaking about the roms, why are they so slow ?
......
hi raymerjacque,
sorry man, its hard enought to create a german rom. my rom is fast and very stable. my camera is working very well, there is no bug in camera driver. if yo want try to cook your own rom, so i did it, because wm6.1 wasn't released in german.
greets
cYBERdEL
I as ROMcooker have to say something too. As cyberdel sayd there is no camera bug. On our devices the camera works very well. It are the same drivers as in the original ROMs so they work like in the original. And the Roms are so slow because of the dlls and so on witch are designed for phones with faster CPUs.
And cyberdels is a littlebit slower because of manilla 2d. Just try a clean ROM. It is a littlebit faster. And as cyberdel sayd: In stead for being angry with us yust cook your own ROM. I can tell you how but you have to ask. Or just stay with WM5. it is fast and everything works as it should.
And if you have problems with the camera and so on are you sure you've got a charmer?
Hope I wasn't too unfriendly at all now.

The blue angel may be 600 years old but it's still 10 times faster than a charmer lol
Keep in mind that Charmer was exclusive for T-mobile, which is a big carrier in Germany.

Sorry Noob hereneeding help chooseing a rom

i'm haveing a real hard time chooseing what rom to use with my advantage. The main role of my advantage is 1 Phone,
2 Media Player (Online steaming and Off), 3 internet in that order. i've looked through the forums and got the idea of how to flash a new rom but with such a wide selection i'm pretty confused on the differnces between them and i need a hand on choseing. thanks
WoW!!! Thanks for the help i guess.
I saw your first post and after that I got my Athena. I now see your second post and i own the Athen for about two weeks.
All I can tell you is this:
1) You will have to try the ROM's yourself, because everyone has special needs and likes one ROM more than the other.
2) I have so far only tried the original shipped WM5 ROM and MiCHy's R6.1 ROM. I changed the WM5 mainly for one main reason: it was in German.
The ROM I have now works almost at my satisfaction and I already spent much time configuring it to my taste and installing lots of software. I would not want for the next months to install a different ROM, unless there is a good reason (aka, a new functionality).
3) The alternative to MiCHy's R6.1 ROM's are AP4 and newer R6.5 ROM's.
I did not try the AP4, because I did not feel good enough informed to do the SPL upgrade and the WIFI rebuild on my new device. Now I think I understood all steps, however as I mentioned above, it is too much hazzle considering the current ROM works to my satisfaction.
Because I have other HTC devices, I already tried R6.5 ROM's on them. It looks good, but slows the device down (in my opinion). Also, I dont like touch-based menus, because verything gets too big on the screen.
Conclusion:
I recommend a simple R6.1 ROM or, better, the AP4. From what I read so far this seems to be the most popular ROM's.
Recomendation:
I spent days reading all relevant posts on this forum (started prior of receiving my Athena). I asked the questions which were not clear to me, I did my homework. And so should you!
Cheers,
vma

Whats new for Hermes?

Hi all.
Is there something new for our beloved Hermes? New ROM perhaps? Are there still great cooks for the Hermes? What have I missed in the last 6 months? I have read somewhere that WM is now on 6.5.... is it applicable to our Hermes?
Been soo busy at work! Its been a long time since I found time to visit this site..I think the last time was November/December last year and Im not sure if there are still a lot of Hermes users and a lot of Hermes cooked Roms as it was that time, considering that there are now many new HTC phones coming it. But as for me, I still love my Hermes (or maybe I just dont have the money yet to get a new HTC phone lols).
The current rom Im using I think is version 3.62 with Radio version 1.47.30.10, on WM6.1 with M2D, TouchFlo...I even forgot whose ROM it is...either PDAViet, PhamQuang, abusalza's PDACorner, Starbase64, JoshKoss, CRCinAU or Schaps, I really forgot now, so many Roms to play around that time. I have yet to check first my files in my PC as what were the last things I opened and used with regards to Hermes. Still, my Hermes is still doing great, alive and kicking!
I miss xda-dev. Thanks to all those excellent cooks I mentioned (and forgot to mention) .... I hope these days there is still something new to play around for the Hermes
Thanks..
Well just mossy on down to the Mobile 6 and you will find a few 6.5 ROMS, thankfully so far when one ROM cookers falls in battle then there is another to take up his sword, or should that be wooden spoon.

Is there a ROM index?

Hello,
I am quite new to the HD2, in fact I will receive it this week (I hope).
I move from a Samsung Omnia and I chose the HD2 mainly because I always had memory issues with iGO. The biggest amount of RAM memory on HD2 shall make it work (at least I expect).
Looking at this forum is great because I already have an idea on which apps to install to customize the phone.
Having myself an installed cooked ROM in my Omnia for RAM availability reasons, I know that putting a cooked ROM in the HD2 is not a choice. The question is which one to choose? Being novice, does it mean that I have to read all the posts to have the whole picture? This is a question that every newcomer will ask I guess.
Everybody that cooks a ROM will say their one is the best. You have performed a hard work to build and maintain it and it is understandable. But is it possible to have a collaborative sticky post resuming the available ROMs, their main objective (performance, GUI, available apps,...) so that at least it is easy to know where to look at first according to the user's need?
Right now, I am looking for a ROM having low power consumption and a big amount of free RAM.
Regards,
Javier
Well you'll have to do your own research for that. Go read each thread's first few posts and make an informed decision. Hint ? Look for a Titanium ROM if you want the most RAM available.
