Sweet guys! Nice to know there are more norwegians in here!
Anyone cooked a newer ROM with norwegian input possibilities yet? Anyone have a guide on how to add NO input to custom ROMs?
My TP sometimes does not show incoming calls, and other times I get a mix of WM6 and TouchFlo 3D style phone GUI... Anyone with the same problem? I can't get rid of messenger contacts in my phone book... Is this NO-ROM related, cuz none of the tweaks I found to fix these issues worked...

may i ask what custom ROM u'r using?
i'm currently using the one i posted at the start, i have no issues whatsoever. (i hate to use T9 (no norwegian on me phone atm))
only thing i have a problem with is that the GPS is a bit sloppy around 100 meters behind on the maps with any gps proggy.

I used Panosha Pro 1.0 on mine until I accidently drove over it with a 1,6tonn lift. Then it got over 1 mm thinner and 3mm wider and did not work very well after that. Still waiting for my insurance to get me a new phone.

Swedish Rom

What are the odds anyone will actually come out with a Swedish language Rom?
My guess is about 2.34 %
Our languages are quite small, but you will probably be the first to get it if we get a Scandinavian version.
I think that most M1000 users are so advanced, that they would prefere English anyway. I do, because some translations are confusing - and the defacto standard on the IT market is English.
It would be quite different for a Nokia 3100 phone aimed at the budget end of the consumer market.
Anyway, I am ready to install the Orange ROM labled DK released today, so I may get a Danish version soon..

Michael
Let me know how the Danish version works; I can pretty much read most of the Danish I encounter or at least figure it out, so I'd be willing to change to that... keeping the phone in another language keeps my friends when I'm the States from playing with it and ruining stuff.
Tack så mycket!
Scott
if it's easier access to ae oe and aa you want
then some guy from Norway make a custom keyboard add-on
which makes your keyboard (software keyboard ) into Scandinavian
it let you choose between Danish, Norwegian and Swedish
but of cause that don?t fix the issues that the text recognition cant recognise them and dictionary don?t have Scandinavian words
personaly i really hate translations and pretty much stay with english os's and programs
The 'Danish' ROM is in English as the original Orange M1000 ROM.
Only Danish content appear to be the default GPRS setting, pointing to a danish gateway.
Scandinavian keyboard is easy, this free utility will give you what you need:

Hebrew on stratrk with WM6

Hi, I have just updated my startrek with the wm6 rom (tried the 6.1 but found it a bit heavy). good news is that the old phone is up again but since last used it I moved to israel.
I tried all the standart keyboard hebrew options I found in the xda forums (about 8 of them). non worked on this phone.
Only thing I ask is to have contacts in hebrew, read and write SMS and web brosing. dont have the need for today screen or system hebrew. Can anyone help?

Danish Hero ROM update pulled from HTC.com - does anyone know why?

Just went by the danish version of HTC.com to see if there were any new updates. To my big surprise there were no ROM updates for the Hero. Does anyone know why HTC has removed the update?
/morten
I asked HTC, they replied (very quickly I might add) that the danish site is being rebuilt and that I could get the update from the norwegian site.
Rebuilt???? don't all the language versions of the page use the same layout?
Could this be an indicastion that the 1.6 update is coming, or am I too optimistic?
judging by the dodgy translations ion the Danish ROM, i would say you were being optimistic.
Anyone with a danish ROM noticed that when you open the main programs menu, instead of saying 'all programs' in Dansih, it actualy says something along the lines of 'cannot read from widget'? there's quite a few other dodgy translations according to my Danish Friends...
i think it was an automatic translation which went wrong, kinda like the road sign in wales with the 'out of office' message on the bottom...
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/wales/7702913.stm
LOL i've never actually used the danish translation, but I just tested it, and you are correct about the "All programs" == "Proplem med at indlæse widget"
HTC were never really good at the language variants. I used to own a Touch Diamond2, were the first ROM i had contained half german and dutch in the danish translation.
We'll see about the ROM update, I read somewhere that the sprint variant of Hero comes with donut on the 11th, so it would not be too much of a longshot to get a donut build for the european version around that time too.
/mof
lets hope so....it would be nice to see donut to see how much of an improvement it is.

[Solved using CM7 rom] Arabic on Photon

I need Arabic working on the Photon. Now we are rooted, unlocked, and have the full stock source. Who can take up the task of fixing Arabic?
Have you tried to download it from the market? I think the gingerbread keyboard supports a quite a few languages. Not sure if Arabic is one of them. But that's an idea.
It's not an issue of keyboard. The keyboard is fine. But the Photon, like every other Android device sold in the US, comes with a ROM that prints arabic characters disconnected and in their standard form. To Arabic readers/writers, it is almost impossible to read.
People in the dev forums have been making Arabic roms (and CM also supports Arabic) but the Photon has no such roms available.
It's a world phone that ironically can't display world languages.
Well once CM7 is released I am sure that issue will be fixed then.
Sent from my MB855 using XDA App
I'm sorry to be annoying, but isn't there anyone that can patch the Arabic on the stock rom? It doesn't seem that reasonable that the dev community can't take this on without CM7.
Let me rephrase the question. Those that have the Alien and Star Wars builds.... have you found that Arabic is fixed?
(SOLVED) Arabic Working using CM7 Rom from cybik
Hi all,
I am just reporting that I got the Arabic working using the CM7 Rom from Cybik. It's working with GSM so can be used in the Middle East if needed. Arabic in all apps is fixed in CM7, Gmail, Messaging, Skype, etc.
However, I would like to use Arabic in one of the more stable ROMs (even though CM7 is awesome) because it seems this ROM saps battery life like a MoPho.
Will try Alien, Star Wars, and Homebase to see if any fix Arabic. None of the authors of those ROMs mention fixing Arabic so unfortunately I need to try them all.

[Q] AOSP Keyboard Dictionaries

Hello.
I am facing a great problem with AOSP keyboard dictionaries. I am hoping to use AOSP keyboard with my own language (malay) and therefore I also require the spell check to work with it.
With my current Cyanogenmod ROM, I cannot seems to be able to correct any of my spelled Malay words; presumably, there aren't any dictionary of it.
Concerned, I tried to use France as the language, shocked, the spell-checker works with France. So, this made my guess about the missing dictionary a possible-true thing. Add-on dictionaries is "empty" and also I cannot find a way to add any dictionaries.
As I am rooted, are there any ways I can force add the malay dictionary?
I am thinking of finding the English UK dictionary and translate it by-hand (working hard for it) and then put it back onto the system. Anyone who can guide me with this?
Ironically, changing CM's main language into "Bahasa Melayu" or Malay seems to work. I am not so sure why it doesn't on AOSP keyboard.
One thing to note, please don't recommend me installing another keyboard. No, I just want to stick with the mighty low resource fast and trustful stock keyboard.
Device Specs for someone who needs it:
- Xperia SP C5303
- Cyanogenmod 11 Kitkat (which is 4.4.4) nightly
- of-course prerooted (it's CM)
Thank you so much in advance if you are looking forward to help me Have a nice day.
Hello. I understand that one would not automatically gets reply on the forums, but doesn't there be anyone who at least know little about this matter?
Bumping this up
Last bump before I bump again a month later
Bump!! Abandoned for a month but I really still need a workaround for this.
one last sweet bump
It is most likely that the AOSP keyboard just doesn't have that language built in and as most aosp apps are left for dead by Google it would take someone to manually add the code into the AOSP keyboard on the source level. Just because the the main language changes doesn't mean the keyboard has the language.
