I just switched from the Diamond to the HD
Together with the Diamond I ordered the HTC Desktop Cradle CR G300 that comes with inserts for both the Diamond and the Touch Pro.
Does anybody of you guys know if there will come available inserts for the HD so that I can continue using this cradle?
I have asked HTC this question for some time but so far no reply

Clove Tech informed me they will be getting these (not available now) for the HTC cradle.
As I have 3 cradles and a HD I'm looking forward to these inserts !!

I also have this cradle and a Diamond, and am away to order a Touch HD then eBay my Diamond. Perhaps its worth hanging onto the cradle for now in the hope that they do make a suitable insert!
I'm guessing the phone actully fits in without any insert put in - just not very stable??
Touch HD with CR-G300
Would you please inform me as well when an insert will be available in the market for HTC Touch HD. I just bought the cradle today as it is stated in the accessory brochure that came with the phone. To my surprise I couldn't find an insert suitable for my Touch HD out of 7 inserts that was included.
So I don't know if I shall return the cradle or hold on to it in hope that a matching insert will be available in the market soon. Please advise

I mean whats wrong with HTC!!! The inserts for the diamond2 and pro2 are already listed on their site but not the one for the HD!!! Thats like they thought: "Well to sell something on Christmas 08 lets put a phone out (Touch HD) but lets fokus on our diamond and pro brands .
So HTC, please respect your customers!
Btw. did someone make some experiences with the CR G300 + HD? Is it that bad?

Work around - now the CR G300 work with HD

Actually the CR G300 can't be used together with the HTC HD - that is why there is no insert for the HD.
The reason is because the HD apparently don't use sound through the usb-connector as it has the 3,5 mm headphone connector.
The work around:
Use the Sound & USB splitter from HTC - connect it directly into the CR G300 and then connect the usb connector from your computer into the splitter - and now you can use the CR G300 with the HTC Touch HD - and sync between the HD and your computer

Hi, I've been using the CR G300 with the HD for months - works fine.
BUT, there is no sound out of the back of the cradle BECAUSE there is no USB sound. So, using the splitter as above does not work to produce sound. It will allow sync but why bother. I just connect the HD direct to the cradle.
The concern I have in using the cradle is that the HD is not mechanically supported except by the USB connector. Since this is nearly vertical I'm not too worried.
I was hoping Clove Tech would produce the inserts. I might try to make inserts myself.

I bought it now and I am using it atm without inserts. Works fine but I still hope to find some inserts that give the phone some more stability!!!
Otherwise I have to create them myself (in metal).
Did somebody find some inserts?

I just noticed there are many Mini-USB to 3.5 (or 2.5) audio adapters on sale at e-Bay, like this.
All of them seem to be for Motorola phones, though. Anyone has tried on the TyTN?
I seem to remember reading somewhere in GENERAL that they would not. Someone asked HTC and they said it was propietry - but they would have an adapter out soon(ish).

I can't see why it shouldn't work... it's just £5 so what's the loss if it doesn't...
EDIT: I've bought one today. I'll tell if it works or not....
The port is NOT proprietary. It is a standard mini-USB, and takes standard mini-USB cables.
They tweaked the socket a little bit to go along with their new proprietary headset.
In other words, you can plug in any standard mini-usb cable/accessory, but you can't plug the headset into any standard mini-usb port.
Sorta "dain-bramaged" if you ask me, but since I use a bluetooth headset, it's a non-issue.

If you look at the connector the motorola one has 5 pins across the top of the it. If you look at the Tytn on it has 5 pins across the top and 6 across the bottom. In order to be compatible with current chargers the top 5 pins supply the charging and the bottom 6 supply headset and serial connections.
I do not intend to use the "Line out" function of my TyTN often but it DOES lack an audio output. Sometimes I need to connect the device to speakers and etc.
It should be a modified mini USB port that the TyTN has and that must have saved some space over traditional 2.5mm sockets. We all know 2.5 sockets are not common and you need an apaptor to change it to 3.5mm anyway so prolly HTC gave up on the 2.5 and made the USB standard.
I am pretty sure that some accessory will come out.
Does anyone know if the Ebay adaptor cable will work on the TyTN?
Most of the ebay adapters are standard usb mini for use with the razor etc. These will not work. It needs to be an adapter specifically for the Tytn.

Like the Atom Exec has factory cradle kit, battery, silicon cases, leather straps and etc. I don't even know where to get an extra battery!

Think I'm going to get the official HTC one, looks quite smart

That looks like it will put a fair bit of strain on the extusb port. There doesn't seem to be anything else supporting the phone
I seem to buy a cradle for every phone I get, none of which are perfect (the stand that is, not the phone, although . . )

Can I ask how easy it is to drop the device into the cradle? I bought a Pro2 cradle from an ebay source, and it can be a bit fiddly to line up the connector, I'm often jiggling it around for a while to line it up; whereas the Brando cradle for the HD is very easy to use, it just drops straight in. I'm loathe to buy a second cradle, but this one is just annoying me.

it's cute! I own the deluxe for a second battery, but the normal one is enough if you don't plan a second battery!

The plain charger I purchased for usd$14.99 and the deluxe was usd$24.99. I purchased both from ebay. I received them in about a week after placing my order. Both came with free shipping.
So the total was usd$39.98 for both units.

Plain Model - MINIUSB docking port / MINIUSB charging port / MINIUSB Sync port

Both models works great. I actually prefer the plain model since the HTC TP2 sits "deeper" in the docking port which seems more secure and I still have easy access to the front buttons of the phone. I usually do not listen to music when charging the phone. I have placed these docking cradles in front of my computers at home & office so, if i had to listen to music, i use my computer.

I surfed the page and I have found that the Cable is working well also with the O2 XDA (so with the Polaris too as I think "My phone").
for you I think it will work well, that it converts the HTC cable to a normal cable and your DVD doesn't need any more than a normal cable with 2 Video, 1 Audio ....
try it (It is not expensive) .....
really I'm happy to find such a cable!!! =))

yeah But a bit more elegant. I was thinking of building the plug right into the holder so the phone would slide in and plug like a desk dock.

I bought this cradle a few weeks ago and i love it so much i wanted to share it with you guys!
The good points...Universal, works with any device,
it comes with a separate charger lead off the back with different tips so you can charge other phones while Syncing.
Nice to use, no fiddly slotting it into place.And works in landscape!

I have one of those types of cradles. They are great, UNLESS...
--You have a case on your device. There is no room between the cradle back and the support back that allows you to place the device in the cradle.
--You have an extended battery. These don't (again) have any space that will allow you to put the device in the cradle since there's no room to feasibly put the device in the cradle if you have an extended battery.
I don't know why these things (cradles) have this support back and don't leave any space for any extended options.

That exact same cradle is on e-bay for $13 shipped to the U.S. I bought two of them. Works great for me, and the price is right. As others have noted, it's a little fiddly to slide it on, and tends to stick when sliding it off. And it won't work with a case or an extended battery, but the film guards are ok.
Is your device the T-Mobile version?
Last cradle I bought didn't fit it.
