But, in the first one you haven't to take HD out...
Not a usefull case when you use a carholder / desktopcradle
Guys it's too much expensive....... Believe me, buy an i-Phone leater case, sightly stretch it by the sides and use it as case for HD........... do in this way until Proporta or other manufacturers will provides a better solution.

Just got my Piel Frama from Expansys today (living a few miles from them so went to the French shop as soon as they put them "in stock"). I've chosen a Tan/Black and i can say the quality is just wonderful. The leather is perfect, it's hand made, and it fits the HD perfectly !

Hi chaps, i purchased a Piel Frama case for my old HTC Kaiser and I can honestly say that they are of the highest quality.
I too have a HTC Touch HD and as soon as finances allow I WILL purchase one for mine as well. Expensive yes, but worth every penny.... they are hand made so you pay for that craftsmanship.
Also as an added extra on Piel frama. When I first purchased mine the belt clip was a crappy design, basically, If I got into my car and forgot about my PDA I would invariably twist the PDA and therefore the belt clip, a couple of times this actually split the belt clip as it's only made from plastic.
Both times I sent Piel Frama an email informing them of the issue, and both times they were very apologetic, they asked for my contact details and about 5 days later I recieved 2 new belt clips together with a leather Piel Frama key ring. Theye didn't have to do this, but they did.... The customer aftersales is excellent.
I can now confirm though that they've since changed the design of the belt clip and this issue shouldn't arise again, but top marks for Piel Frama.

Woww, I like the second one. Looks very elegant in black. Type of pouch I really want. So wish that HTC would have made the exact pouch for HD like what they did for Diamond and Pro as they were good quality, ease of use and really protective. The second one above is the closest I have seen any so far which matches the ones with Diamond and Pro.
Is it available from any UK retailer yet?

waiting for Godot, i realized from the various videos that the package from Htc doesn't include a case. Thinking to the 3.8" LCD with a big scratch on it, i decided to anticipate the step and ordered the lateral case from Beyza for the iphone 3G. it shouldn't have any issue with the TOUCHHD, I hope...FYI. Anybody that identified case alternatives?
I'm hoping that the so far shown packages were just those for test versions and that the original package would have a case like in the pro and the diamond.

I saw a picture of the package the HD comes with yesterday. There is a case in it. It is pretty simple and is more a leather sleeve, but i have to say i like it, as it is simple and protects the screen and easy to slide the HD in and out.

indeed, there is a soft case in the HTC package. However, i am used to keep it attached to my belt, and therefore useless.
The good news is that the beyza leather case originally designed for the iphone works perfectly, it is well tight and you can even attach the headphones while keeping the touch hd inside the case.
I buy in pdair.com, leather cases at $28, all inclusive.
The HD version is coming, I ordered the iPhone model, dimension are similar...
I've already made a request to Boxwave that they create a Designio leather case for the Touch HD.
You can Contact Boxwave with a request for an HTC Touch HD Designio Leather case and a cradle. The more requests they get for a specific model, the more likely they are to manufacture it.
Edit: Piel Frama already has cases for the HTC Touch HD.

the soft case supplied is utterly useless and very fiddly.
I confirm the "useless" part. My HD has scratches on the top because it fell from 30 cm (1 ft) on the ground and this soft thing doesn't protect that side. before I commit suicide, does anybody know if HTC will supply replacement parts? Or, as a workaround, is there a silicone case? At least I won't see those ugly scratches

I hope so much that Seidio will produce a case for the HD, as something similiar happened to me with my Tilt (slipped out of my hand while riding a bike) and because it was in an Innocase nothing (!) happened to my phone.
But I fear that Seidio won't produce one, because the HD won't be sold in the US

I have several... all on my other PDA's/Phones.
Looking at the link you mention, Piel Frama do several other cases for the HTC Touch HD including the 'Crocodile' leather case.

Yes, I have an iPhone cover and my Touch HD does not fit to it because of iPhone has rounded borders. Be carefull.
Different cases for pocket and jacket
The best solution I found for my Tilt (I have yet to order a HD) was to permanently put it into a Seidio rubberized case. I read reviews where other users mentioned that the protection is very good and I can confirm this. I accidently dropped the Tilt when riding a bike and nothing happened to it. There was only a barely visible scratch on the external case, the Tilt was healthy as ever. So I guess I'll be another one as soon as it's available from Seidio (I hope they plan to release one)
For attaching it to my belt and put it into the pockets of my jacket I use the Crumpler John Thursday 70 pocket. It absorbs pushes really well, it has a velcro flap and protects a little against humidity. It might be a little to big for the Touch HD, so I wonder if someone saw a case with similar specs for a rather slim device like the Touch HD?

I have had several Piel Frama cases and every one of them has been top notch. Have a Piel Frama Touch HD case on order and am waiting on my Touch HD to arrive in the next few weeks - Expansys USA is back-ordered and I haven't found another source in the US from which to order.

I have one.
Plus points: its very well made. Looks nice. Protects the phone very well.
Minus points: its not designed for the HD. So if you have headphones in, it won't fit the case. Its a pig to get out of the case; you have to slide it out and hope you catch it! There is no hole to allow you to push the phone out of the case.

I got one like THIS on ebay. It's like the one that came with my Elf.
Definitely better than the felt one that came with the phone.
I like it because it has better drop tollerance than the felt one because it has that rib around the edge. It's also a thicker and a tougher material than the felt one.

It is a great pouch and I like it's quality and the hard shell front. No fear of damaging the screen. Super!
Piel Frama
I have the black Piel Frama. It is hand made and very classy...and very expensive...but it's sooooooo beautiful! It protects the HD very well. The only place which could get damaged when dropping it is where the stylus is.
You also get a clip to carry it on your belt if you like (I don't use that).

I am currently using the Universal PDA (Large) one, and it fits perfectly, infact there is a little additional room, which will come in handy, when I get the silocone cover for the phone... fingers crossed...

All the HTC devices I've had (XDA. XDAII, Universal, Athena, Touch Cruise) have been capable of being used safely and snugly in good leather (usually Piel Frama), but none these had a slide out KB
I've seen the Kaiser clip-in solutions on the web, but I would like something with 'Bounceability'.
Any words of comfort out there?

LOL. I have been looking at those too. I thought they might get scratched as well and ending up looking a bit rough. And the cost isn't exactly cheap right? Also, do you think a clip on will work for the slide out keyboard?
^yes, a clip on would work great! I've been using a Seidio clip for my Hermes (which has a keyboard). It's one of the best for ease of use & very good device protection!

Thanks for the tip, I will look into this and see if it will work when the TP2 comes out. I am sure there will be a few nice cases when they start dispatching the TP2. Which hopefully will be very soon.
It comes with a case in the retail box. It is more a pouch, the TP2 slide in from the side.

No, just got the TP2 yesterday. The supplied cover is fold over sleeve with magentic closure. I've usually waited to see what Piel Frame do, their cases are superior quality

Mine does. The problem is that you have to take the device out to use it, including answering calls or charging, maybe someone with the steady hand of a brain surgeon would be happy to do this on a daily basis, but I'd prefer to have my expensive toy safely and snugly enveloped in fine leather for all day to day use.

Well that's certainly true - it looks good. But it lacks a belt clip, so I don't think I'll use it that often. I don't think the case (or pouch, more like) will fit in my pants pocket and I'm sure as hell not going to carry along a purse for my phone
The Krusell thing looks nice, but it's rather expensive and I don't want to be having the thing encased forever. Just a simple pouch like the one supplied will do, but I would definately like one with a clip. Worked well for my P4350Herald, which is in prime condition after more then 2 years of use.
And also: I noticed there's no keychain attachment possible on the Rhodium. Bummer =( It saved my Herald once from being stolen out of my hands on a trainstation
Yeah I like the case that comes with the box, but as someone has pointed out, you have to take it out whenever you want to use it. It's fine at home or inside a building. But if you are walking on the road / tram / bus, it can be quite annoying
Piel Frama ( http://www.pielframa.com ) say they will have a case for the TP2 in about 15 days

Can you get full use while it's still in the case (charging, volume control, etc.)? the Piel Frama one let you use the keyboard in the case as well. I've ordered one on the basis that the extra price over another type will count as insurance
After trying several cases/pouches including the official C300 leather case (too bulky) and a cheapo faux leather pouch that marked the white casing of the phone I have finally found this:

Its a pretty tight fit but you can yank the tab to pull the phone out.

Ouch, hope you can find something that you like!
I have been in search of a good case too, and I think I'm going to go with a foof pouch from Foof Shop. Another user of these forums got it and said it fits perfectly in an iPhone/iTouch size. Just a suggestion for you, if you like the style.
It's a shame my favorite company, Switcheasy, is staying Apple only
Waiting for beyzacases myself - their diamond one was superb.
I'm using a large Luna pouch by Krusell. Paid about £12 for it on a buy it now from ebay and would happily recommend.
It's a good quality soft leather case and while it wasn't purpose built for the hero, it is as you can see a pretty snug fit

I can lightly hold case upside and gently shake without the hero falling out, but at the same time I don't need to wrestle the case to remove the phone. Only downside was the quality control sticker left a sticky mark on the leather when I peeled it off (which washed away with a little liquid soap).
Wish I had a black Hero. The white one gets marked without trying.

MF recommends the Extra Large, for the Hero, but you mentioned only the Large.
Looking at the sizes there's only a few mm in it; I really don't want another pouch that the phone falls out of though

Foof is Ideal
I recommended the foof case, and the more I read with problems with other cases the more I'm glad I use this one. The interior is white fleece absolutely no chance of staining and great protection for the device. I've still heard all my notification sounds through the case and the black and white patterned cloth looks great. Its also washable.

It fits really well and is cheap as hell. It also makes it large enough (and increases the drag coefficient enough) so that it feels secure in my old G1 pouch.
