I have noticed on my device that when you run the wifi radio and turn on the blue tooth that the blue tooth will not operate or atleast not operate properly. However if you turn wifi off bluetooth works perfectly fine. Just appears to be a conflict when both operate together.
Also has anyone figured out the overheating issue with the radio during extensive use? The phone will stop charging when the radio heats up to much from steady use. IE tethering or sprint TV.

I keep the phone rested on a bag of ice. But this is rediculas, there is no call for a user to need to keep there phone resting on a bag of ice to use it.
Umm, just an FYI but the PPC 6800 does the same thing when actively using wifi for a long period of time. It will overheat especially if the keyboard is NOT extended and as a precaution, it will stop charging the battery.

It has been lightly said this is so, but in a yr of use and 6 ppc6800s I have been unable to replicate any of the symptoms.
the problem is this phone is on tiny and you have those radios and the processor running nonstop, things will get hot. i have not experienced those issues and i use wifi at the house due to me being on the fringe of cellular service. i also use BT at the same time... not always but i do use both, and the only thing i have noticed is the phone will still charging but that is exactly what the phone/battery is designed to do so thats not a bug and i dont think you are experiencing a bug..more likely just the results form the device getting hot...
not much you can do other than to keep the screen off when you can and try and keep the device cool...

I do understand that this is to be expected with that much going on. However, I'm on my 2nd touch pro because the first got so hot it wouldn't charge, not only with wifi use but also long telephone conversations. My current TP they sent me gets hot, but not THAT hot, and has never stopped charging. Some of the phones are simply better built than others at this point. The quality control over at HTC is really missing the mark.
There are a couple threads over at PPCGEEKS about this issue.
That being said, I love my TP and look forward to great use out of this baby.
i hear you but when Li-ION batteries get too hot they will stop charging. thats not a BUG but a SAFETY FEATURE. if your current device has not yet stopped charging then the battery has not gotten so hot as to make it unstable. i also agree some phones are built better than others--thats the cost of mass production.. cars (lemon law anyone?) and other items that arer mass produced folow the same suit....

It's not the battery getting to hot, the battery stays cool. It is the actual physical device over heating from the radio in the top portion of the phone. The phone itself overheats not the battery and it stops charging as well starts flaking on its wifi and BT capability's.
the electronics in the phone and baattery have thermistors that register the temps. if the environment AROUND the battery is past a certain temp level, all charging stops. again this is a part of the setup of devices that use Li-ION. if the device continued to get hot and continued to charge/maintain the battery power level, that could cause sreious issues if nothing is done about it.
again, sir, that is NO bug. its a shame the phone is so tiny--this makes it difficult for the heat to go anywhere--but keeping the keyboard open could help somewhat..

Yeah, the safety feature that kicks in with charging the battery isn't a bad thing at all. Annoying, yes.
For what its worth I have done a little reading and this isn't just a TP issue. I think any phone with that much under the hood and being that small is going to have this issue, for now anyway.

i have always said that--re: the phone is so tiny with all thats going on inside that the heat has no where to go.
i remember overclocking on a pentium 3 400mhz to about 700mhz, that thing took a HUGE heatsink, so then i think my phone has a 528mhz cpu in it, and it probably doesnt use a heatsink at all, probably just a single layer of aluminum to spread the heat so i can't complain...my phone gets hot when wifi and gps run while im driving, i wish it wouldnt stop charging but it does, i just have to hold it in front of my a/c vents for a while and the charging re-starts where it left off
Guys, i've seen this happening even with my iPhone. When i put it in the car stand and the charger is plugged it will stop charging after a while because i have hot air from the vent blowing on it.
Any phone with a Li-ion battery in it will have such a fail safe mechanism cause you REALLY don't want that bat the catch on fire.. The industry as a whole has already had plenty of problems with Li-Ion batteries..

Shame to.. because I would use the wifi all day at work if I could keep it cool.. best thing I have come up with is a small ziplock and putting ice in it and setting the phone on top of it.. leaving the keyboard out doesnt help..

I've done searches and read here and on other forums. I am at my wits end. I'm using my touch pro with my laptop but the phone get's hot and turns off. It also doesn't charge while tethering. Does anyone have an actual solution to this problem? Is there a Rom that solves this problem? I love my phone but I travel 2x a month and don't want to pay for the WIFI in these hotels.
Anyone have a solution?

doesnt sound normal to me, did you contact sprint TS about this issue (wouldnt tell them you are tethering tho)?
get a long usb cable, put the phone next to the AC. the phone should be cooled enough to charge while tethering.
Go to Settings (WM, not TF3D)|System|Power and the Battery tab.
Make sure "When device is turned on, do not charge the battery when connected to the PC." is unchecked.
As cloudy987 indicated, get the phone into a good cool air flow. Maybe even take the back off while tethered. Plastic is not that good a conductor.
there is a hack out there from nuerom that makes it so your battery driver works differently and allows it to charge more or till it hits a little bit of a higher temp or something (too lazy to re read the posts) but there is also a over/under clocking utility on the site that works on some versions of winmo (i think on 6.5+ it causes a deadlock on boot and forces you to factory reset ) but it allows you to change the processor speed to lower while teathered and makes it so the device wont over heat...

this was a issue for me while on energy roms,i had to go to tweaks and in the tool folder and disable the fast charge toggle,i have to on most custom roms,but no issues after i turn it off
could be that the USB connector is getting screwed up... the one on my Titan went and it started with not being able to tether/sync, then it progressed to not being able to charge it.
I actually melted my phone with wifirouter and had to replace it. Luckily it was under warranty. Most of the time simply placing it on a small desktop fan kept it cool. Unfortunately for mine the damage was done before I figured this out. Treat it like an overclocked PC. It needs extra cooling to keep it from cooking itself.
I purchased a Droid RAZR on the day it was released and it has been running just fine. As of right now I am satisfied but I ran into something that worried me slightly.
Earlier today I had my phone in the Kickstand case/belt clip and hadn't used it for about an hour. When I took the phone out of the belt clip it was scolding hot. Battery, screen, all of it. I regretfully didn't have something to monitor the temperature to check what it had gotten to, but it was nearing pain just to hold.
Has anyone else been running into overheating problems with their RAZR of this magnitude or does anyone know any cause/solutions? Any input would be appreciated.

My razr gets warm in the case too... Does your case have a magnetic closer thing? Mine does and I am wondering if that is playing a part as I know old motorola droids (Droid 1 ) would not play nice with magnetic cases.
Mine has never been got hot. Not even warm...
But I've heard that many of you are experiencing problems like this so, maybe, it's my device the exception.
P.S.: Always running in HSPA+ with data connected. It got a little warm after 30 minutes of playing on WebTop (on my ATRIX LapDock)
I noticed this today. Went without my otterbox on an after 10 min of listening to pandora the thing was almost to hot to touch. Going to exchange this.

No it does not.
And there were not a lot of activities going on. Up until that point I had made a phone call. That was it. And I checked to see what was active and there wasnt aanything that shouldn't have been.

Mine is XT910 and it is kinda cold even after surfing HSPDA+ for 15mins. The 4G LTE radio in the XT912 aka Droid Razr should be the cause of this issue. I believe they'll roll maintenance updates soon enough to fix this kind of baseband issues.
My device too has been getting hot. I have the Droid Razr. It will overheat with no case, weather i am streaming in 4g or not. constantly losing 4g connection. also once it is over heating it will begin to powercycle. I have also noticed now due to the over heating the kevlar backing now has a huge air bubble underneath it where it has come detached. you can run your finger across hte bottom and just hear the popping sound of it moving around.
Check in Display Settings if In-Pocket detection is ticked. You never know. It is an active process if ticked.
For the past couple days I've noticed when I am in bed I've been using my fiance's EVO 3D charger and it's been heating up the screen pretty good, hot enough to really feel it on your palm of hand, not warm, i'm talking hot. I unplug it, shut it down and within minutes it's cool again.
is this an LTE phone?
I noticed the phone get hot (noticeably hotter than expected) the first day of use when I was hammering LTE and opening/closing things. I didn't use LTE a lot after that. I used the (google) navigator app in the car for a good 11 hours straight and it barely got warm but using 3g.
Since then, I've installed the leaked update which contains a new radio and updates the os to 2.3.6. I've been running 4G and It hasn't been anywhere close to hot. It might get SLIGHTLY warm while downloading/watching some youtube vids but it seems much improved.
No such issues with mine. Scolding hot? You sure you are not exaggerating a little?

Man, Razr has a high voltage battery..... dont ever try to charge it with another phone's charger,,,,
you can charge via laptop.....
My GSM RAZR does get hot, but after about 20 mins of browsing the net + chatting + fb all using 3g....get worried at times...but it goes off. just hoping for my back cover not to bulge, like some has.

Just how 'high' do you think the voltage is on the battery? I have used various chargers and they all work fine.
I had to echange my Razr after 2 weeks because the camera kept freezing but 4-5 times I would feel my pocket get hot. It was very hot and would partially drain the battery quick. Only have 3G in my area. I would reboot it and it would cool down.The new Razr has always stayed cool.
I've had similar problems in the past with my phone randomly becoming extremely hot and the battery dying within a few hours. I eventually downloaded an app called Android System Info on the market. It will tell you exactly what processes are running and how much of the CPU they are using. I found out that a process named android.process.media was starting and hogging 70% or more of my CPU at random intervals. After some research I figured out this was possibly caused by my phone attempting to sync with the media on my micro SD card and failing, but continuously retrying.

Disregard that message as it is ridiculous.
If the Razr couldn't be used with a standard micro-usb charger then they would have put a proprietary charger port on it. And secondly, even the cheapest plug-in charger has far more juice than what a laptop USB port provides.
When I first received my RAZR, it too became very, very hot at times. Uncomfortably hot. To the point where I feared for internal components. On the plus side, some of those 'black blotches' under the screen seemed to disappear.
As above, narrowed it down to the media scanner. Solution was initially to use the phone without an SD card, but that was hardly a long term fix. In the end, I rooted, froze the terrible Blur music app, hid as many folders as possible with .nomedia files, and used the feature of PowerAMP that disables the system media scanner for its database.
Have not had the same problem on 2.3.6 firmware, thankfully.

I continue to try to see if my 2nd Rezound is prone to overheating. It either overheated and shut down at 113 or ran out of batteries.
I am wondering how hot people's Rezounds are getting on average when running Navigation (probably in LTE) in Satellite mode.

Layers. There is a satellite layer and a traffic layer. I believe both pull a lot more data than without. I am wondering if you got to 102 with these layers off or on.
For anyone else willing to help, I am looking for your temperatures with these layers on.

No,I wasn't in satellite mode, but I don't think it pulls that much more anyway. I do think it's worth noting that mine was plugged in too via car charger.

Environmental factors like ambient temp come in to play as well. Cell reception plays a part also, lower signals means higher radio output, which means more power draw, that translates into more heat.
if it's charging via "USB mode", once it gets hot enough(over 100F) it stops charging and the battery drains.. you'd have to charge in "AC mode" to continue charging once the phone is hot... but yeah, if it gets 120+ then it'll start to overheat & shutdown.
best way to ensure it'll get a strong 'AC' charge is to use a power inverter
Ok I recently installed Eclipse ROM on my MMX2 phone hoping it would increase the speed and extend the battery life, but no noticeable change in either of those categories. I use my phone alot and understand that is part of my battery drain, but I have noticed when using my phone to either surf the www or play a game or even talk on it, the heat is almost too much where I can barely hold the phone without thinking i am going to burn my hands.
Today I actually paid more attention to it and took the back battery cover off and it was surprisingly cool to the touch, even the battery wasn't hot, but below that it was scorching!! The heat is radiating from near the speaker cover (my speaker isn't near as loud as my friends Droid-X but that's a different issue for a different topic).
Does anyone else experience this issue with either the MMX2 or the DX2? I assume they are very similar phones.

I have a Milestone X2 and my phone has never gotten hot where I can't touch it. It gets warm when i am playing a game or something. You might have a bad connection with your speaker. Take notice if it gets warm when you listen to something? While charge or only if you are using your phone with a game.
But generally I have not experienced this with my phone. I would let someone take a look at it! I work at a Cell phone store and I have heard of devices getting so hot that it physically did burn an individual. The phone itself did this because one of the servos where not attached properly.
I would also try a different charger...
The only time mine gets really warm is when I'm constantly using wifi. Other than that its cool.
A big culprit of the DX2 overheating is the Flash software. Check to see if you have Flash 11 installed. Others who have had this issue have either removed it or used a previous version of Flash.
I know all the reviews said this phone got slightly warm due to the screen, but in my nearly year-long stint of owning this phone, I find that remark to have been grossly misrepresented. When charging, my phone gets extremely hot on the power button. After charging, it takes a good 5-10 minutes to cool off. While the phone is hot, (and I mean HOT,) the phone hiccups, stutters, and can become totally unresponsive. Applications act up, etc.
When I attempt wireless charging with my add-on receiver, things get infinitely worse. I cannot charge with the screen on and data connected.
In my car, I connect via BT to my car, my audio receiver, and my OB2 scanner. That doesn't seem to be a problem, other than BT being sometimes flaky. I have a wireless charger in my car, but I only used it once -- no point. Now, even with my 2.1a charger, I cannot keep my G3 topped-off while using GPS and streaming Spotify. The phone practically melts. Things are better when I'm blasting the A/C on it straight from a vent, (and worse if I try to use my heater in cold months.
Basically this thing is in a perpetual state of overheating. I have had three of these. My last unit overheated so badly that the screen became discolored. You might say that I expect too much from my phone, but my M7 had no issue, and my S5 did not overheat. I had to give up the Sammy for other reasons.
I have made various tweaks in the past in attempt to counter the sluggishness due to heat, but that's dangerous--and likely why my last phone actually failed. I decided to leave that alone and deal with the crippling slowness. Even something as simple as swiping a word on the Google Keyboard becomes impossible.
My question to you guys, is do you notice this burden on a daily basis? Perhaps the average person that doesn't need a charger all day can keep this beast cool? I am strongly considering the S6 because of the reports flooding in of how hot the Snap 810 runs compared to the Exy. What are your thoughts?

Due to the nature of DC, the charger cannot be the culprit in terms of overheating. Not staying topped off? Sure, but not the heat. The phone regulates all of that.
You are telling me that you can stream Spotify (highest setting for me,) and Google navigation, and your phone doesn't get blisteringly hot? I've been charging on the cable (instead of wireless,) to get my phone up from 93%, with the screen completely off, and it's pretty warm on the power button right now.
I am running stock ROM, (though rooted.) I have used various G3s, various ROMs, completely stock, various chargers, you name it. No matter what, this phone gets furiously hot when the screen stays on. Even using it as a clock on my desk causes it to heat up like no one's business. Streaming a movie causes it to get pretty damn hot. It seems like the environment of the car being warmer, and GPS being used with data is the main culprit. Like the internal heatsinks/paths become overwhelmed.

A simple solution might just be buying an external charger and spare battery combination and never use the phone for charging.
I have always bought external battery chargers and hot swapped a fully charged battery and put my dead battery on the external wall charger when I go to sleep.
