I would like to try and play around with other ROMS but before I do wish to have the stock Serra o2 rom as a safe guard - incase I need to return it for warrenty repair.
Does anyone have a copy - my version is as follows:

It does not appear to be listed in the Wiki or for that matter elsewhere - many thanks

Can anyone advise why it's so hard to find an o2 rom - there seem to be lots of others around?
Perhaps because it's only been recently released on o2. Perhaps ask on a specific o2 XDA forum, or the o2 forum itself.
I don't have the ROM either since I flashed mine without saving my old ROM.

I too have an XDA Serra on O2 and am looking to flash my first ever ROM at some point this week so it would be great if you could put the stock ROM up on here so I can have it as well in case my first attempt at ROM upgrade goes pear shaped.
Also if any of you guys have succesfully flashed your Serra, did you need to unlock it in any way or simply flash the ROM?

hi guys sorry for the delay, i've been scratching my head trying to get the rom dumped but i cant even get past the first hurdle...
i follow the guide and edited the reg value, copied the dll file over and ran pdocread.exe -l but when i do this step, nothing happens for a while and then i get an error message that it couldnt open the itsutils.dll even though i've copied it to the windows folder
am i meant to run pdocread on my pc whilst the device is activesynced?
right finally got it to work but theres another prob...the baserom file in the previous link is corrupt so i cant cook the new rom...
i've uploaded my raw files from the stock o2 rom to rapidshare, if someone can construct the rom, that'd be great

I flashed (I think it's called) my vario 2, so now I seem unable to get on to T-ZONE. I tried typing in

Basically what it is t-mobile now do mobile TV and have free passes still the end of this month but you need to get onto t zone, and I can't anymore
Is there a way around this please and how do I do it?

it's not the actual rom though, and last time i checked dumped roms don't set everything back the exact way it was on shipping

Why bother to do so?
1. The official WM6 ROM is almost ready for download.
2. Camera utility may not have icon that can switch between front and rear cam as 7500 does. (but I am not sure about that.)
I would bet you dollars to doughnuts that it would definitely work on the X7500.
my next question is; what's so great about the X7501 ROM anyway?
I would hope that the 7501 ROM is actually the full release, so if we could get a copy of that now, we would have something better than the pre-release posted to us all previously. ...Surely the 7501 ROM can't have some of the bugs that I am seeing in the pre-release ROM....

There is nothing really wrong with the one we have right now! Remember, just because it is "official" does not necessarily make it good (or better)!
If you are that nervous about it, then wait for HTC to release theirs and use it!

Now, I have bricked my gizmo and I need help getting it back into a useful state. It boots to the rainbow IPL / SPL screen (IPL v1.00 / SPL 1.07 if anyone is interested) and that is about it.
I need some clear pointers as to how to get this puppy back into existence.

Sigh .... you did at least have the common sense to simunlock and SuperCID your device first before trying on a ROM image that was not meant for your device?

Reflash it with the original rom that it came with! Then use the unlocker from Olipro, and follow all of the instructions, to cid unlock your device! You should be able to reflash from the bootloader screen , but you must use the original rom!!

OK - stoopid question time.
1. I don't think I have a copy of the original ROM - does one lurk in the forum somewhere (it doesn't look like it is on the FTP server - at least not parts that are open to me).
2. ...and I'd find the Reflash program where? I'd hazard a guess I just download the ROM using mtty but can't help thinking that some bits need setting somewhere first

search for the WM06 ROM for the Advantage 7500. Put your X7500 in bootloader mode - (hold down camera key while inserting the soft reset button in the back lower portion of the unit) You will get the rainbow screen. Connect your USB cable and run the "ATHE_WM6_x7500_flasher.rar" and you should be able to reflash your unit back to working order.
If that doesnt work, go to the FTP section of the WIKI and download the original version of the X7500 software, do the same as above instructions say to do...

Hi All,
I have bought an HTC T4242+ via the internet from China, and when I received the phone I found WM6.1 loaded in the phone and I have a problem with it as my voice is breaking or not hearable when I do a phone call!!! I asked many people and they told that I have to upgrade the ROM but infact, I found that there is no Boot Loader in the phone and did not know how to do that, as I am new in this, I contacted my supplier who sent me a .rar file and he told me to open it to be UPR file and load it on the TFT card by a TFT card reader, then to press three buttons together, the power, Middle and green buttons until I see bar showing upgrading, then to restart the phone!!! I did all that many times but nothing happend, the bar showed no progress at all, and I still have the same ROM version with the same problems!!!! anybody can help to instruct me to how to upgrade the ROM..................??????????? I will appreciate your help guys

Regarding the topic, beware that the T4242+ is NOT an official HTC product, but seems to be a cloned based on other hardware.
It has a Marvell 624MHz processor, while our regular, official T4242 uses a Qualcomm 7225 @ 528MHz.
Based on the pictures we can see here, the phone IS different, for instance the wheel looks different than the one we have on the T4242 (grip is much larger on the "clone").
The space between the htc logo on the front and the wheel is much bigger than on our T4242.
Even the stylus is not the same...
Therefore, DO NOT try the roms on this forum, as it will most likely result in a brick of your device!!!!
HardSPL will not work either!!!
The hardware is different (at least regarding the processor), so the devices are not compatible!
There are other people in your situation, so you should look here, and after here.
Basicly, the T4242+ and T3232 clones seem to share the same hardware, and may be compatible...

I have succeeded in flashing the ROM I have on my my T4242+ but the point I found that this ROM does not support the Hardware buttons (wheel), so it is useless and I am still looking for an appropriare WM6.5 in english for my clone!! thank you

I would like to thank all the guys for their efforts in trying to help me, but becuase I am new in this and I have no experience, I still face the problem of how to change the ROM through the USB, as the wheel button is not working in my device cause I previously upgraded the ROM from 6.1 to T4242 6.5 and now would like to upgrade it to T4242+ 6.5, and it has to be through the USB (I tried the TFT Upgrade but it was not showing me the white flash screen), I need a detailed instructions on how to do it step by step, I will be highly appreciated if someone will help me, I need to know where to download the VISTARUU and what exactly to do, as I feel that I am lost in this!!!!

I found this rom for the t4242+ from a chinese forum. Its a 21734 build and has integrated manila 2d(build 1818.3719). All buttons are working including wheel. Footprints tab does not work(for now)

Repack into new rom doesnt give any errors if i rename boot_ms.rgu to boot.rgu
But the rom wont load on my phone. cant get past the first screen. Is it cause i dont have the right boot files?
Ive tried extracting the boot files from other roms with no success.

...it's not a ROM issue, it seems to be a hardware problem, since it's a clone.
I have bought a similar one, upgraded ROM, but still the voice quality in phone calls is below average.
I just changed the device to an oriignal HTC, it helped.

The dump bin file is incase your testing and mess the phone up, and need to reload the default rom to reset your phone. You make a hard-SPL from the dump file aswell

Please can anyone tell me where to find a good and stable ROM for flashing my HTC Tianxi T9188. My brother brought it back from China and left it with me. Unfortunately, I dont understand the Chinese language it came with and need to flash in an English ROM to be able to use the phone.

HTC Tianxi is the China only released version of the HD2. Some differences - CPU, RAM and TD-SCDMA. To me this seems a slightly lower spec'd phone than the HD2.
Check out pdadb.net - run pdacomparer. Doubt there would be any other language version's. At your own risk you could try some HD2 - built roms or ICS Andriod roms.
Thats the problem tx. I was hoping I culd get an English ROM for the HTC Tianxi T9188 and not have to experiment with the HD2 ROMs, considering that both phones have different hardwares. Thats the risk I dont wanna take cos of the possibility of bricking the phone. I did come across an Android ROM though but I can see CHS in the name of the ROM which tells me that it is still a Chinese ROM all the same.
Another problem I am facing is flashing the HardSPL for the Tianxi. It us using SPL 1.27.0000 and I cant find a hardspl flasher which is compatible with it. I have searched here and in other forums and Google and any other place you can think of, still nothing. Have tried the ones I have seen online and always met an error. Any help here will be most appreciated.

If you have SD Card try loading (SD version) in the root and (MAGLDR) boot etc. If that works then it may take NAND versions.
Other than experiment, sorry cant be of more help.
I have tried all the hardspl flashers I can find in the thread you gave ... from HSPL to HSPL4. Non of them could work for the Tianxi. All gave the same BAD ID error and wont flash the HardSPL.
Please help me anyone ... I am getting frustrated by this
