If anyone sees a case like this in the wild.... - Touch HD Accessories

... I'll be a happy bunny:
http://www.proporta.com/F02/PPF02P05.php?t_id=1966&t_mode=des
The cover flips over the back which makes it very easy to hold. Had one for my XDA II and loved it.
Also had one like this - with a flip-up plastic screen cover:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/CLEAR-SILICON...14&_trkparms=72:1301|66:2|65:12|39:1|240:1318
The Orbit Flex Krusell comes close to a useful design for me but I don't want the added bulk of the belt clips on the back.
In the meantime I have ordered one of these for my HD:
http://www.proporta.com/F02/PPF02P05.php?t_id=1966&t_mode=des
but have found a similar design that I use on an XD IIs to be annoying if playing with the phone for any length of time.
Oh well, early days...

Innopocket Magnum Case
How does it handle in daily use?
Does it support an extended battery?
I'm using the Brando hardcase and it's been good, but after a couple of drops the corners of my BA are a little dinged up since there is no corner protection.
Thanks!

I am on my second one. The first broke within a month and was replaced by the dealer. The side clamps that hold the case closed are not well made. Even a small drop will cause the springs in the clamp to pop out or the entire clamp comes out. I have spent a lot of time searching around on the ground for all the pieces after the clamps falls apart. Sometimes the clamp comes loose for no reason. You will be walking and your PDA falls out of the case. I was told that I probably just had a faulty case and they sent me another one. The clamps look the same so I figure the same thing will happen. The aluminium case locks with a different mechanism and works much better.
I have a magnum
As far as cases go it's the bet i've owned. Better than the tinny metal ones. The only reason my BA works is thanks to this case.
I'd reccomend it
Since reveiving the second case I havn't had any problems. I think I just had a lemon the first time.
does this really protect the device in some cases of accident drop. Hows the the feel of the case?

Yes on e-bay but I have heard some horror stories about them so be careful.

Yes it really does protect the phone. I have dropped mine twice with this case and there was no damage to the phone at all. It did pop out of the case once though.
I have not had any issues with this case untill the threads on the post wore out and the case started falling due to that. I was not happy with the way they put the post on the cases. but it has lasted longer and functions better than any other case I have owned for my SX66 so I would buy another.
I have this case, but I prefer to use the original Siemens case, for the sole reason of ergonomics.
The Blue Angel is a sleek, sexy piece of art (all compacted into a phone), and to hide it in a bulky titanium case just doesn't seem right to me. Also, you cant use the touch screen and using the call/end and D-Pad buttons is a clumsy task with the innopocket case. I'd recommend getting a nice leather folder type case or an OEM style Siemens case.
However, the Innopocket case is GREAT when you use the phone as a GPS. Just attach the car mount to the back, and it protects the phone from hitting the windshield and dashboard while driving down a bumpy road.
I bought on eBay and I can't use it !
If I put my sx66 in the case it will push the button and other than that I can't close securely. I'm very dissapointed with the quality.
So please don't buy it !
I've had a few. Both the Titanium and Black Magnesium.
Also I've owned these for 4 different PDA models. After a few falls The Titanium will actually Dent in and itself leave a scratch on your PDA. The Magnesium doesn't dent in and is the one I currently use. The black case also compliments the silver PDA's color very well. Both will Pop open on a fall sometimes leaving your machine vulnerable. Serious Issue - I wish They would fix. All in all it is the most protective and stylish case available. You can recoup most of your lost functionality by assigning Voice Command to the record button. These are not like soft cases though. As you bump or drop your PDA around they will become damaged and inoperable and you will have to replace them.

omg Sorry but I have to say, I had palm IIIe, 2x palm 505, Tungsten E, qtek 1010, qtek 2020 and now BA which is qtek 9090 and last one is the more ugly than any of the pdas I owned before. Even the 2020 was piece of the art comparing to 9090
If you want to see sleek and sexy piece of art take a look at palm m505, that little guy gathered a lot of prizes for the design and thats for the reason, it looks like the some part of the porsche. BA is definitely not in that class.

New Holster Finally here

I have had a Vega Holster for pretty much all my previous cell phones, it does a great job of protecting them and looks great. You can get it in black too.
I couldn't find anyone in the US selling this great holster, they are handmade in Italy and the company is based in the UK.
I ordered through Orate, and it drop ships from the manufacturer via registered USPS in about 10 days for GPB 25 + GPB 5 P&P. Total was about $45.
Here's the link to Orate:-

Here's the link to Vega if you want more info

Also the Vega model number is 1R108.
No affialiation, just wanted to say that I got good service from a hard to find but great holster....

I had a Vega holster once.
How would I describe it? Excessive build quality! 8)
Agreed, they are very well made, but they take a beating and protect the phone very well.
- Tim
I used a Vega holster for my Sony Ericsson Z600 for a couple of years. Amazing quality -- same construction as the heavy duty leather holsters they make for guns. Last forever.
Only questions, though, using a Vega holster with an MDA:
1) is the ringing sound muffled? My Z600 was REALLY hard to hear when it was in the holster -- I depended on vibrate when it was holstered.
2) How easy is it to get the MDA out of the holster when it rings -- without getting your fingers all over the screen?
Great looking and beautifully made products -- but I'd only be interested in this were really a good functional accessory for the MDA...otherwise, no point.

1) I haven't notice the muffled ring, but I have it on vibrate 99% of the time.
2) It was a little tight at first, but a couple of nights stuffed with paper loosened it up. Also I had to put the phone in 'upside down' otherwise the battery cover was pulled off - By the way the design of the battery cover is one of the worst features of the phone! Screen 'dirt' was not a problem.
The main reason I got the phone was the protection, so many of the other cases don't protect the sides from knocks etc.

Go to link http://www.orate.co.uk/acatalog/i-Mate_K-Jam.html and scroll all the way to the bottom. Vega link is there. It doesn't show the model number, but I took that from the stamping directly on the back of my holster. Hope it helps.
I am surprised that Vega are still in business, it is so damn hard to buy their holsters in the US. I emailed them to let them know they need to beef up their re-sellers in the US, they didn't even bother to respond. If I had received a reply, I was going to look into the logistics of setting up shop here. Orate seem to be OK though. Not that it matters, but I found out that Orate place a drop-ship order with Vega and it is shipped from Vegas' warehouse directly to the you, with signed, delivery confirmation in a jiffy bag and bubble wrap. Seemed to work well.

How does this case attach to your belt? I can't tell.
from the item description:
>>>
This fully lined belt holster can be worn on the belt or simply used as a case. lt features an injection moulded nylon spring clip that locks on to the belt or, for a more secure fastening, the belt may be threaded through the slots and worn either horizontal or vertical to the belt.
When worn near the rear trouser pocket the holster is comfortable and the mobile phone is instantly accessible while sitting or walking. Designed to fit belts up to 4 cm width.

The Vega holster I've used with my SE Z600 is almost identical - just a bit small as befits the smaller phone - but it's the same construction.
The leather is fantastic - like what you'd get with a very thick, high quality belt, with incredibly durable and tight stitching. The clip looks like black plastic - but it's far tougher than ordinary plastic, being made of nylon. A flat tab on the clip slides into a slot in the back of the holster and has a couple of short raised posts on it that fit into corresponding holes (1/8" or so) in the back of the holster -- these lock the clip into the holster so it doesn't pull out by accident -- but you can lift the tab and disengage the posts from the holes easily when you want to, and slide the nylon tab out, removing the clip from the holster when desired. The reason you might want to do this would be to take advantage of the vertical or horizontal belt slots in the back of the holster -- If you don't want to use the nylon clip, you can thread your belt through the slots in the back of the case. Definitely harder than using the clip - but there's NO way the case will come off your belt that way!
Anyway - assuming you keep the clip on the phone - it's a good sized clip, easy to use and very effective. It's large enough to slip over anything from a narrow dress belt to a wide thick belt. The open end of the clip curves back, forming a closed loop when you're not holding it open against the springy tension of the nylon. Maybe that's hard to visualize from my description - but what that means is that you slide the clip over your belt, and as open end clears your belt, the material sort of "springs shut", effectively forming a loop around your belt. It simply will NOT fall off your belt accidentally.
You can also slip the clip over the edge of a pair of pants (if you don't have a belt on), and I regularly clipped it to the carrying strap on my equipment bag when I'd go to the dojo to practice.
I love the contruction, and it's an unusual and handsome case. It should last far longer than your phone.
My only concerns would be:
- the potential for the ringing sound to be muffled
- the difficulty in grabbing the phone out of the holster without inadvertantly pressing one of the buttons that I did not WANT to press
I'm a Vega fan in general, but I'm wondering if I would like a Krusell Cabriolet better for the MDA. I'd love to see one in person before making that decision!
Thanks for the help on the clip! Sounds like exactly the thing I am looking for as a second case.
How is the useability of the case specific to the MDA?

Ordered this case from the same company (orate.co.uk). They sent me the wrong case (1R164). This case is way to big for this phone. I see in your posting that you got another one model number that I'm assuming fits the MDA better. I emailed them 2 days ago, but have gotten no reply. Does anyone know of a company in the US to get this case from?
US Vega Vendor
I looked long and hard for a US supplier, with no luck, so I think you will have to resolve this with Orate.
When I called them to find out where my holster was, I got a good impression of the company, the owner (I think has name was Graham, but I can't be sure) answered all my questions.

Krusell Orbit with Multidapt - Anyone had experience?

Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with the Krusell Orbit with Multidapt for the I-Mate JasJam (or similar)? Just wanted to make sure there were no magnets or foreseeable issues with the case before I went ahead and purchased?
Elite_Gamer04
It's not available yet. Expected to be released on Nov. 6
If you look at the pictures of the Krusell, while it looks very nice (I had one before for my Blue Angel and it was super), this one looks a bit clumsy. To slide the keyboard you've got to pop that button and have that awkward extra flap with the window open. And to take a photo you've got to bend the top flap way back. So, I'm not crazy about those two items. See the Krusell.
I just bought (but haven't received) the ORA Premium Chairman's Case (god what a lame name). ORA is apparently expansys/mobile planet's own brand. I think the design looks much more usable. You just open the case and slide the keyboard, no second thing to unbotton. And to take photos there is just a permanent cut-out, so no extra thing to move out of the way. The lens is somewhat recessed anyway, so I don't anticipate much reduced protection.See ORA Premium Chairman's Case
Another very nice one that seemed very functional (and much like my old Krusell for the Blue Angel) is this PDAir case. I really liked that one but went with the ORA because it looked a bit more protective, useful, etc. Otherwise I would have bought this one.
Anyway, that's my take on it...

Actually this is a Piel Frama case. The problem I have with this case is that it has a plastic insert which goes in between keyboard and the upper part of the device. Upon the time the keyboard most likely will become loose and you won't be able to use the PPC without this case any more. And plastic itself will wear out quickly

That ORA Premium Chairman's (you're right, what a terrible name!) case looks like the best I've seen yet.
Anyone know if it's available from any UK outlets?
The name just underlines the fact that this case is three times more expensive then almost any other case

Your past experience may differ quite a bit from mine, but in my experience having the same style of plastic cover thing to retain a device (Krussel's Blue Angel case) the plastic never seemed to suffer any damage/problems in 2 years of use. Not saying it's an ideal design, I wish the phone/PDA designers would make some sort of camera-tripod like screw hole which would allow the phone/device to be secured to a case, a car mount, etc.

Damage, no. But I can't deny that it appeared the keyboard was looser over time. Not much looser, not problematically looser. But if that's what you mean then yes, it did become looser (i.e., slide more easily, so that at the end of 1.5 years i could shake the keyboard open). Again, I never thought it was a huge problem, but certainly not ideal.
Finally the Krusell Orbit is out and mine is supposed to be shipped tomorrow.

I expect to get it on on Monday.
how do you like it so far? I'm looking to purchase this too but then again with this whole talk about the plastic making the keyboard and base loose is worrying me. I rather not have that problem.
Please do tell.
I have the Piel Frama case in black. Its ok, the clear vynil goes ontop of the keyboard which holds the device in the case.
The problem is that everytime you want to close the keyboard, the vynil bends as it is not a snug fit but its a big deal.
Also, i am sceptical of it losening my keboard lock mehcanisms.
Now I am searching for clear crystal two part case so the device is always protected even when the keyboard is out and using a screen protector as well. Has anyone found a crystal clear hard case? I know that there are some for the WIZARD, but I havent seen any for the HERMES.

Well, I've received the case but still hesitant to put the device into it. The plastic insert and magnetic lock are my two main concerns.
Currently I'm using black aluminum case and pretty happy with it except the fact that the radio and bluetooth signal levels are lower when device is placed into the case.
joedoe,
you are talking about the krusell orbit that you have received? If so, have you tried putting in the 8525 to see if the plastic is something that jasjamming is experiencing with the plastic folding back due to fitting?
Hi all,
I just bought this case and am waiting for it to arrive, I have not used the original case at all as I see it as stupid for me, the chance of me dropping it while I am trying to remove it from the case everytime it rings or I need to use it is quiet high. I first bought the silicon case of ebay but still to much of the phone was unprotected.
This silicon case seems to cover the entire phone completely, even with a screen cover, I just can't work out how it stays on the phone, you will get what I mean from the picture. I will let you know when it arrives.

Yes, I've tried it. It was pretty difficult to put my TyTN into the case and even more difficult take it out.
The plastic isn't folding back because it stays under the keyboard even when it's opened.
It's very inconvenient to use the device as a phone in this case because the flap rests right on the top of a head or you have to bend it back and hold with your index finger.
I guess I'll stay with the aluminum case for now.

Body glove has been a lot more miss than hit as of late for me tho. Anything from cheap cases that break after a couple days, scratching the phone, not fitting correctly or not locking and falling off to paint/clear coat rubbing off the first say.
Sadly, I wouldn't recommend body glove to anyone.

Got one with my phone Saturday. Fit is almost too good. Hard to remove without taking the plastic covers off the back with it. Also the cover scratches easy and is looking pretty old after just 4 days. I got the white one which was all they had available Saturday. Will be looking for a gel case soon. Buttons work alright though. No scratches on my phone from the case.

Thanks for that. I'm cancelling my order. Too much money to not be happy...
My Sprint store had the white ones on release day so I got one. Seems to work pretty good!
Sorry for the bump and double post, but I wanted to second that the body glove RIPS the top-back off of the phone when removed. Or it rips the bottom panel off the phone (worse!)
I like it, I just don't like removing it!
its really hard to take out and when you do it it will take your back cover out, i dont like this cover because it feels weak, i bought it @ sprint but already purchased a otterbox commuter to replace it,
I got this case at the Sprint store and have been pretty happy with it. The combination of the hard plastic outside and the silicone inside seems to offer a lot of protection, and there is a nice lip to protect the screen. All the holes seem to be in the right places and the buttons work well. The power button is a bit difficult to press, but I actually like this as it prevents it from being accidentally locked in my pocket (it only there were a way to disable the Sense ring lock).
It does make the phone noticeably bulkier, especially on the back where the case bulges out a bit (there is a 1mm gap between the phone and the case. Still, the overall package is no thicker than my naked HTC Hero. The added side thickness also means that the phone doesn't stand up as much when using the kickstand.
The store only had the white version, unfortunately, but since I was exchanging another case I didn't have much of a choice (it was that or the pink Otterbox Commuter).
I've removed it a couple of times and had no problems with the back cover coming off, but I was careful to follow the removal instructions (at least on the Sprint version, it comes with instructions telling you to remove it starting with the bottom corner next to the microphone, followed by the other bottom corner, following by sliding the top out). It fits the car dock well with the insert removed and with some minor adjustment of the foam pads.
I got the Body Glove from Sprint as well, and don't need it since I already had a case. It is the gray one. If anyone is interested in buying it at a discounted rate, it is never used and still has the original packaging. PM me if interested.

Does anyone know if there is a holster out there that will work with the Body Glove Tactic case? I recently got a case and holster combo from my local Sprint store and I didn't check to see if the holster would work with the Car Dock Sprint sales and the case was too big to fit in the car dock even with the insert removed. The Body Glove Tactic case works great in the Car Dock, but I would really like to have a holster for it.
Thanks in advance.

I have one of these on my phone. It does scratch quite easy and takes the back off when you pull it off, but it does not scratch the phone or trap dirt and dust. other than scratching up i dont mind the case. I would much rather have that happen to the case than my phone.

everything is great EXCEPT... Its aq VERY tight fit, I was worried about the phone while putting it in the case, start on one long edge and get BOTH corners inbefore trying a 3rd corner and then the last one.. a drop of water on the last one helps a lot and the phone is waterproof so...
OH, and I can put a metal shim under this case for my car magnetic mount.
Thanks for sharing, and I would like to know is there any other case available , or at least some skins for the back.
The phone is too slippery, it keeps drop from my desks to the floor...
I don't always use the phone with its dual view case as it adds too much bulky, only use it when nesseary, e.g. read a book
I bought a black TPU case to use until I receive my Dual Screen Case. I have seen the same case sold by other sellers on Amazon. Comes in 4 colors.

came here to recommend the VOIA case. probably my favorite phone case I've ever had, been using daily for ⁴ months now. perfect size and thickness, protective yet sleek. nice soft rubber feel that doesn't scratch, and the felt inside is an added bonus. amazing value too. I must admit however that shipping takes a while and mine got lost in the mail, so it took a few weeks. still worth the wait.
