Hi there sorry for my eng. but i m new about pda s an i m using htc p3400 also known as gene.and it has original wm5 stock version and i want to upgrade to wm 6.0 or 6.1 my serial number begins with SZ7XXXXX i researched for this but i could not understand which version is possible , and how to upgrade?could u help me please?

i have done the mmty program, but i do not get a white screen to indicate the flashing is done rite.please assist.i also formatted the device.i used gene unbricker and followed the easy to use instructions.also the spl tools.so easy to follow but still not work.
Can you please help will here to look for an answers.

why are you using gene unbricker i think that is for new gene... ask basha about it... im not sure.....

I have GENE or Original DOPOD 600 with S/n starting with 7. I loaded win 6.1 prof on it but there was some problem so i stupidly tries to install HTC India Rom 6.1 on it and no its is in tri-color boot screen with following message on it:

hey try mobix guide for updating also not to worry as ur screen is in tri color mens u can update rom just read the post of wwefusion ....9.0 rom above this thread in that checkout commnets from zelat really useful ..

u can't update with custom roms now so u have to flash original rom.
because u don't have onbl and it shows wrong spl .without onbl,spl,radio u can't flash any rom available here.
try to flash these rom

SPL 1.07.0000
GSM 2.79.90
OS 1.7.0.0
It has Stock WM5 version 1.7.455.2 WWE ROM, which is made for India.
i want to upgrade my device with custom WM6.1 Rom, but before that i want to take back up of this ROM because, it isnt available anywhere even in XDA forum.
the other ROM available here is not correct version for my device to gives vendor ID error.
so is there any simple way to Take Backup of my GENE's original WM5 Rom.
i have already searched Forum but didnt find anything for gene.
so please help me if someone knows the process for taking back of ROM.

hi buddy....hy gene stuck after booting....i hv upgraded my gene with SumitsProUsersROM_WM6.5_build21815_OldGene_Fixed.exe.....to upgrade i use temperory cid unlock i.e; jump spl....and now my cid is locked....i.e; securitylevel=FF....i got it from mtty....but 1 thing is good that i can go to bootloader by pressing camera+reset.....plz help me what to do? my gene is not logging in......which rom i can use to get desktop again.....plz help me....thank you....

Hi Rony : The ROM you flashed has issues and get stuck up at boot stage. Flash your gene with any other ROM like Krazy's WM 6.1 v 2.7 or Besfen WM 6.5 or Helgee ROM. The same will get your gene back. & Avoid creating multiple threads.

Need some help. I had earlier unlocked my New Gene with the Oref method and updated it with the win 6.1 and it was working fine.
Just recently I was facing some problem with the manual searching of the netork and I decided to go back to the original WM5 rom.
I tried installing the old rom (without removing the hard SPL) and now I am stuck with the tri coloured bootloader screen. (I know i should have Soft SPLed before installing the original WM5 rom. )
None of the roms seem to work. I have tried almost 15 different roms. almost all get stuck at 2% and my phone reboots.
In the tri coloured screen i see the following details:
ONBL 1.17.0000
SPL 1.17.0000
Can some one pls help me in getting my liittle gene to life again?

Thanks for the reply. i tried re hSPL but that too failed.. it said corrupted file..
well,u seem to have old gene p3400 i guess.does your device boot to the current rom u have? if yes.charge your device to 100% follow the rom upgrading steps right from the bigenning.then checkout.again try to patch your SPL.then try any rom compatible to your device.i hope this should workout.if still the device doesn boot u need to take it to the nearest RT outsourcing centre(htc service centre).

Initially I too thought mine was an old gene.. But none of the Roms of old gene were working.. But roms for new gene were working.
Anywaz.. I am not able to boot any roms as of now, only thing I can goto is the tri colored screen by holding the power and camera button..
I am currently in Sydney so I cannot goto RT outsourcing here..
is there another way of fixing it?

checkout the PDA pack that u bought.simple.what's written on it? plus,if your gene is new gene(as u are considering it to be) please get your device charged up 100%.try and flash your device again with any new gene rom.unless and intill u have patched your hard spl well u wont be able to boot up your device.try doing a PM to sumit(Krazy_for_technology).he may help u.

Have you checked that your Gene is old or new if not then check Here after that go Here.
I did the same way and no problem with 6.5
you can install WM 6.5
Depending on you old/new gene version u need to flash your SPL version.....
then install any rom that supports your gene...
u did the unlock ur spl or what......?
sorry for my bad english.....
plz unlock ur SPL first......then & then only flash ur gene......once u put the wrong rom the only method can help u is JTAG......plz read the 4th thread carefully......

if your phone is New it means it hasn't Unlocked and if you want install WM6.5 ROM (or any Coocked ROM) you must first Unlock it and then install ROM...

Who told you that if some one's Gene is old you do not need to HSPL it? Please do not say something you do not know about .
These kind of careless remarks result in people bricking their device. And this forum must be numero uno in Bricking devices .
