two devices, one headset - Touch HD Accessories

is it possible for incomng/outgoing calls to use the same bluetooth earpiece with two devices?
if so... what brand should i get?
the two devices are a Blackstone and a Polaris.

Thats a question I would love an answer to. So far the onlt bluetooth device that i've found to do this is the Jabra BT8040. I own one and it works as advertised though with some bugs....

TechAnimal
what kind of bugs?

An example, when you're in a call with one phone and the other rings, it switches to the ringing phone without you answering, which leaves the person you were speaking to wondering what the heck happened.

TechAnimal
I could live with that... I just switch one off =)). Kidding now... it's rather rare when this happends. Just that I can't find the earpiece here... i searched each romanian online store... nothing

Sure, it is called BlueAnt and I have two of them. Both the black color and the red color. Couldn't decide which one to get, so went for both colors.
However, one is sufficient!
The z9i:
http://www.myblueant.com/z9i_headset.htm
Since then they have come out with a newer model called V1, which has voice command build into the bluetooth.
http://www.myblueant.com/v1_voice_control.htm
I paid $75 each for the z9i year ago, they are now less than $40 each .
KOR!

Also, they give you a cable for firmware upgrade. When I bough mine it had v1.0 firmware on them, since then I have upgraded to v1.1

this is the head set that I use with my Trinity and my Breeze:
http://www.plantronics.com/north_america/en_US/products/mobile/bluetooth-headsets/voyager-815
and you can find it in romania too.

Jabr BT8010 can do it as well. I own one and its a pretty cool peace of toy. Especially to see on the screen of the headset who is calling and that you can even dial with this headset names from your phoneboock is very convinient. I dont want to miss it anymore.

Thanks a lot! I found it at a good price here which is awsome.
Multumesc!

was my pleasure to help you.
I did buy it from vodafone, on points (was free for me)
you can try in there if you have some points.

SE HBH-DS980 works fine with two devices.

gentillo
too many wires I already ordered the plantronics earpiece. as soon as it arrives i'll let you know how it works.

it arrived
While on vacation, the earpiece arrived.
+ good sound quality
+ easy pairing
+ it pairs to more than two devices
+ accessories (it was shipped with different earbugs and earloops, to fit more customers)
= battery life
- small range: if more than 5 meters (even with direct line of sight) the call could be considered as dropped
- no car charger or USB charger in the package (uses proprietary charging socket)
I'd say it's a 8/10.

Eh?! What the deuce? I use this headset every day but never knew you can get dual connections on it?
Are you sure you don't mean multiple PAIRING? I haven't seen a headset (other than dodgy $5 nobrand ones) that can't multi-pair, it's pretty much a prerequisite of any bluetooth headsets to even make it to market these days.
But being able to connect to more than 1 host device is the challenge here...eg: listening to music via A2DP on the Blackstone and have my music automatically pause to answer a call coming in a Trinity for example...and vice versa... and if I press the voice command button, which phone does it issue the voice command to... etc..

plantronics voyager 520 with noise canceling

Hi guys, anyone here encountered this issue of a non-stereo headset (mine is an SE HBH PV705) that while playing music/audios, it would cutoff from the headset and play through the ppc-speaker at every 4-5 mins.?? Each time I'll have to press the headset button to resume listening through the headset.
...I've never had this issue with my WM5 ppc with the same headset - I can listen through the headset for hours even w/o any interruptions.
...solved.

For in car use both Nexus and Movon have products that do this - both available from amazon.co.uk or were last time I looked:
http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=227944&C=AffilWin89477&T=41513_
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Movon-MK30-Bluetooth-Hands-Free-Car/dp/B001EKMRVU

Jabra BT 8010 or 8040 do the job well with the glitches already mentioned with simultaneous calls. They have "multipoint technology" that is they poll both the handsets alternately making both think that have an individual headset paired.
I had problem with 8040 due to sweating. Sweat like hell.. and they are NOT water resistant, something you need to keep in mind if u are planning to get one.

2 devices, one headset
Yes, I also have the problem. I got a headset which can connect two mobiles, both are Nokia but I can't do that with one PPC phone and one Nokia?
What wrong or may be some setting on PPC need?
Thanks

so which bluetooth headset is best ?
Sony Ericsson Akono HBH-300 ok ?
Mine works faultlessly with my XDAII.
Mine works, but there is no actual handsfree. i.e. you cannot do a last number redial, as with the wired headphones, so I presume it is not legal to use in UK when driving?
When you ring someone there is a second delay then the XDA transfers the call to the headset. When you recieve a call you have to press the answer but on the headset then it is transfered. You don't get it ringing in your ear. Well mine doesn't.:-(
Regards
I get ringing in my ear with mine and no dely when transferring.
I can confirm that only answering and ending calls work. There is no dialing on LNR.

I have a blue angel ( SX-66) and neither my BT200 or 250 work with it....
The Stack is too old as well so my BT keyboard will not work either !
Stay away from Jabra 250 on these phones. Jabra 200 *might* be ok.
HBH-300, HBH-660, Plantronics M3000, Logitech Freedom are few that work well.
HS820 will work but audio is poor compared to above head sets.
You can patch that SX66 with i-mate patches.
Hard Reset and apply these in this order.

Here is some commentary from Tech Support. Does this make any sense?
Dear Sir.
Thank you for writing in and for your query. Regarding your issue, I would like to tell you that you should install the Bluetooth patches after upgrading your device in order to fix the device Bluetooth issues. On the other hand, regarding Bluetooth headsets, Sony Ericsson HBH-65, Cellink, Jabra and Motorola headsets work perfectly with i-mate devices. Most of these headsets have been tested by i-mate technical team. There have not been any reported complaints regarding these headsets as they are quite compatible and error free with the i-mate™ devices.
Regarding Plantronics M3000 Bluetooth headset have not been tested yet from i-mate technical team.
On the other hand, make sure that your headset has the following specifications: Bluetooth Ser. Version 1.1 and supports the headset profile.
I brought a jabra 250 and didn't know it had problems with this device 100$ later I reallized that it doesn't work it pairs and I can hear people but if I am more than 2 feet from the phone the audio become muffled.
my coworker has a nokia headset. and the same thing happened.
I am not sure what my bluetooth version is but I I do have the latest roms.
Hi,
I have the Jabra BT200 with the non bluetooth adapter and I get more crackle in my ear that I get out of my bowl of Rice Krispies! And there is no point in using the adapter with it when the headset is bluetooth and is supposed to work with my MDA III. Oh! and for the record... I also have the SX56 and the bluetooth adapter and it didn't work with that device either. When I plugged it in the jack and turn on the set , no sound. Jabra is a decent product. But lets face it, Any company that is going to make anything or install anything Bluetooth need to stick with one set of Bluetooh frequency protocols instead of trying to make it customized to work with just certain devices. Because everybody is not going to stick with the same headset or the same phone and people upgrade all the time and others just stick with what works. In my research I did fine that any of the Plantronics headsets (M2500 best pick) works well. Which I will pick up this weekend. I hope this helps. Cheers everyone.

using a bt200
I'm using a blue angel (XDA2s) with a Jabra BT200 headset, I have installed the recently released patch from o2 to fix the bluetooth problems, and now I find it works ok, audio is reasonable withing a couple metres, gets a bit flaky further away but I'm never sure if that's the bluetooth or network signal in my house!
It IS slightly annoying that you can't do dialing, not even last number redial from your headset, but mostly if I'm driving I'm not making calls, merely expecting them, so I can answer on my headset OK and talk to the caller. I DO get a short ring tone in my ear (series of short beeps).
I got my headset free with my phone so I'm happy to live with it's limitations til I've finished paying for Xmas, then I might ebay it and buy an officially supported one which I can do LNR with.
I have heard (dont know if anyone can confirm) that the blue angel doesnt support voice dialling via your headset (for any bt headset) as the bluetooth headset doesnt take over the microsoft for all applications on the blueangel.
Jabra FS-258 (Jabra 250 + car charger)
No problems here (crackle) after upgrading to the 3500 stack. Making voice commands isn't the fault of the gadget -- blame the stack on the XDA. Originally bought mine for the SE T68i and it worked perfect. Moving to the SE K700i the call button didn't work anymore. So, this is a software driver implementation problem definitely. The best thing about the Jabra is its linked to all the previous devices and I just have to turn off the bluetooth on one so the connection hops to the other. Seamless integration with the XDA IIs.
My Jabra 250 works perfectly on my the XDA II and my XDA IIs. On the IIs i do get some crackle/static related to the bad stack especially so after the 3500 update but hopefully that will be fixed soon, anyway that is no fault of the headset.
Also on the IIs it is extremely loud and i had to turn it down. I always had it on full on the II.
On both II and IIs there is a ringing in the headset aswell as the devices ringing.
It is a shame that handsfree is not fully supported still in the new IIs.
o2 don't like making it easy to find out about compatability, do they?
There's the list on the my-xda website, but that's not very exhaustive.
Muggins here phoned up customer services trying to find out whether the Logitech stuff worked. After taking me through security, I got another number...
...which was engaged for 20 minutes.
So, eventually I got thru, and was told to phone customer services (on a different number) and ask for data support.
I got through there. "Nick", a helpful chap, then passed me onto tech support.
Tech support insist that the only things that work are the:
SonyEricsson HBH200 and 65, and the Nokia HS 4W, 3W, HD W3 and W2.
I suspect they are talking what is known technically as "balls".
This site seems much more helpful...

Which Bluetooth Stereo Headset are you using?

Hi all:
--
I was wondering which BT Stereo Headset [not headphones meaning I can make calls etc] you guys are using with your HTC Wizard or any A2DP device for that matter.
--
My criteria:
1) can be used well with my dopod 838
2) fits well [this is subjective]
3) doesn't move around when I turn my head
4) good battery performance
5) price is not much of an issue
--
I am looking at the following Headsets:
1) Motorola HT820
2) iPhono PLUS BT420Rx
3) iPhono mini BT450Rx
4) iTech S35
5) iTech R35
--
I put the iTech's at 4 and 5 because even if they are BT headsets they still have wires danggling about in other words they are psuedo-wireless .
--
So what are your thoughts about these headsets? Any other headsets I should be looking at? Personal experiences, Links to reviews and/or online shops are welcome. Thanks in advance
a teeny little bump, as i'm looking for one now. (lost the original wired headset)
still no replies... anyway just went around a famous mall here in manila and they don't have any stereo bt headsets! damn!

guy s quick quesiton, .....do other version have the ad2 profile, ...infortunelty i dont think my 8125 has that....at least without using a dongle the size of my phone. Any firmware enhancements to get that profile ????lol
I installed the latest rom (2.8?) and it should have that a2dp in it.
I should be receiving my iphones today so i will let you know if it works.
so the 8125 is compatable with the ad2 profile def let me knw that would be great damn these devices are great
Finally! just received the i-phono 450rx
It works! And might I say, quite beautifully too.
Very decent sound quality (playing music now) I'm test-wearing it now and it's still pretty comfortable after 2 hours use.
There is a very slight hiss, only audible when no sound is playing.
The phone-headset function is not fantastic but people can understand me and i understand them. So what more do i want?
Bought it for playing music anyway.
I'm not really sure what a 8125 is, but if it's a "HTC wizard-device" it should work with the latest rom.
edit:
I just saw this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=42569
its about a2dp and your 8125, you might get it to work without a rom ugrade
thanks man
How will I know when the A2DP update is availailable other than this site? Where are the updates usually found? I really am anxiously awaiting being able to purchase a good set of bt headphones for my 8125.

Finally got my own stereo bt headsets. Got myself an iTech Blueband [it looks the same as the Sonorix and ANYCOM headsets] it works with the Qtek Test ROM although sometimes the music cuts in and out. Also it is not as comfortable [for my ears atleast]
Alternately I use a bluespoon ax2, and a jabra bt250v. love them both.

I have the 450rx and according to the manual there is no way to actually initiate the voice dialing from the headset itself. I havent got the manual with me atm but from memory it said something like: For voice dialing, you must initiate the voice dial function from the handset and then you can talk into the microphone to tell the phone / pda who to call etc.
So, technically it is sort of possible, but i would prefer not to have to press the voice dial button on the K-JAM as it sort of defeats the purpose of using the voice dial function. Even though i have only just got the 450rx (and can't use it as i-mate still hasn't released A2DP) i am already on the lookout for a stereo headset that has PROPER voice dial.
Cheers,
Chris

Which bluetooth handsfree phone headset for Tytn in UK?

Any recommendations or ones to avoid?
I think I'll need one for when I'm driving.
OR do I actually need one? Do the supplied headphones do a good enough job?
Thanks

Most of thge mobile bluetooth headset are manifactued by jabra anyhow
this is very similar

and this is the best
http://www.jabra.com/JabraCMS/EM/EN/MainMenu/Products/WirelessHeadsets/JabraBT800/JabraBT800
if you like earbuds, the hbh-ds970's work perfectly with A2DP.
Switches effortlessy between phone calls and conduits pocketplayer, very good quality sound.
Minor drawback -- have noticed infrequent 1-second hangs, but seems to be related to mailbox access intervals.
cheers
Problem using handsfree
Hello! I am using a Nokia handsfree (from my old phone!) connected to a TyTN. The problem is that it's not handy at all. When using the Nokia 6310i phone I could do the following:
- press the headset button and wait for a BEEP
- say a name and hear the headset repeating that name
- the phone started to call that person
When using the TyTN things changed. If I'm trying to follow the same three steps, I get the following:
- press the headset button (nothing happens and only after a few tries I hear a BEEP on the TyTN, not in the headset)
- I don't know when to say a name if the TyTN is far away from me because I can't hear the BEEP
- when I say that name it looks like the TyTN is not "listening" for what I'm saying in the headset but it uses it's own microphone instead
- when the conversation starts everything works ok
Imagine that all this is quite annoying when driving. Anyone ever had similar problems?
Re: Handsfree problem
Same here Innov. For voice dialing the Sony Ericsson HBH-30 worked as you describe with my Sony Ericsson T39m, except there were 3 beeps before I had to say the name. With the TyTN, after pairing apparently succesfully, the HBH-30 never stops beeping!
So only certain bluetooth headsets are compatible with the TyTN?
:?
I use the Nextlink Bluespoon AX2 - only 10g, sits inside your ear and great quality. Boasts up to 1500 hours standbye too! Pics/review on my website... http://rakh1.homeip.net Cost is just over £25 from mobilefun - not bad considering the original AX was nearly £100!!!
I use the Motorola H700 and have also used the Motorola HS850 both work really well and initiate MS Voice Command reliably for driving.
Software or headset?
Sorry, but I really don't think that the solution to this problem is in the headset that you are using. I believe that what I need is a software for my TyTN with Windows Mobile 5. The fact that the TyTN only starts to use the hands-free's microphone and speaker AFTER the conversation has started (and not before, in order to be able to use the voice dialing) proves that what I need is some piece of software for my PDA.
Another example. If I use my hands-free with another mobile phone it works ok, but the sounds that I hear when it asks me for a name to call are different. Because they come from the mobile phone to the hands-free.
Any ideas of such a software?

Bluetooth Headphones

Hi there.
I am currently looking for some bluetooth headphones (not a single headset) to use with my HD. Anybody have any advice and/or experience?
Thanks!
(I'm in the UK, so ideally from UK shops!)
I did find these. No idea what they are like though:

Anybody...?
Hi,
I have been using HBH-DS980 with polaris and now with HD. Sound quality is better comapred to polaris (comparison without tweaking bt settings). Adressbook and call history works also you can see the number/name of the caller.
Music quality is quite good. AVRC is working as expected. The volume keys do not change system volume for music but I noticed that when in call, if you adjust volume from this device, phone volume is also updated.
Hope this helps.
try....
the stereo headphone, handsfree - motorola S9 - was 29 quid - i ordered then before 11am, had them by 11am next day....

Heres one review I found, though not user
http://www.reghardware.co.uk/2008/11/07/review_bluetooth_headphones_sony_ericsson_hbh_is800/
I bought some HBH-IS800 bluetooth earphones.
I haven't used them extensively yet, but one thing's for sure - they are just as dinky and slick as you expect them to be
Sound seems okay - not as good as the wired in-ear Sony ones (MR71 I think) I have been using, but easily good enough for commuting, gym etc.
Can't comment on battery life yet, but paitring is easy, and they are comfortable in the ear, despite being slightly larger than the wired type.
All in all, you could prolly get much better phones for the money (I paid £78 from mobilefun.co.uk), but for convenience, discretion and sheer smugness they're worth it in my book.
Cheers
Pete
my headsets
I use
Motorola H700 as headset and
Motorola S9 as headphone
both work fine with my HD. But I can't compare them as I only own this two parts. But I use them for almost one year and I'm very satisfied.
Best regards Wolf_munich
The HBH-IS800 surely look great. Exactly what I've been waiting for. BUT 4 hours of use is just too short...
I use this one, the sound is good
Motorola S805
Hi there
i have used two different stereo headsets with my athena- both generally crap.
Both of mine were the caller id type with controls.
1. sony HBH-DS970 crap sound- decent BT connection- voice quality (ie volume) ok after reg hack- caller id unable to display name, shows numbers only- track id cant show name- audio not loud enough, never found hack for this- ****e in ear buds- special sony charger- in ear padding falls off and gets lost for ever
2 decided I wanted to be able to use my B&O earphones so I got a ax bluestream from tritton- your own headphones plug in to the clip on BT unit- audio quality good but still too quiet- controls not intuitive- OLED- BT interference in calls is high when walking away from the phone- buggy software- no caller name or song name, just phone number. Better than the sony unit- mini usb charging
Overall my biggest problem was the lack of volume- managed to reg hack the outgoing and incoming phone audio but not the music level.
Overall i prefered the tritton option as i could use my own headphones with the buit in mic- cost more than the sony though
Battery life on the sony required me to carry the charger everwhere- especially given that the atena doesn't support calls without a headset
Hi,
Just the topic I was looking for.
I have finally come down to 3 choices:
1. Sony HBH DS200
2. Motorola S9 - Stylish. Not sure on quality
3. Sony DR-BT21G - Looks stylish as well. But crosses 40 bucks. But can purchase if there is significant difference
someone, pls compare these if possible keeping in mind the price and quality...
I was looking to purchase one for 30 quids
someone pls help me decide..
I am looking for a bluetooth headset which will allow me to listen to music on my Touch HD in the car (podcasts) but also allow me to take calls if need be without swapping headsets.
I have looked at the 3 above and none seem to do that.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
The S9s should, I suppose it depends what profiles your car setup supports.
I use my S9s to listen to music vids on my laptop and I can take/make calls via my HD using the buttons on the headset.
Set the partnership on the HD to "hands free" and laptop services to "audio sink".
Be aware that the telephony audio is from one channel only. The left ear.
edit: Sorry, I misread your post.
However, the S9s will allow you to do what you ask. When listening to audio an incommimg call will pause the audio and switch to hands free telephony.
Here is the .pdf manual.

BT stereo headset

After I got my Tilt 2, I was looking for something wireless for listening to music (I Might)
I was thinking having Jawbone prime as my car bt device.
Looked and searched through the internet, nothing was reasonable price and suitable for working out / treadmill until I ran into this.
http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=5008646&sku=M151-2514
Its motorla, but a few reviews on the internet looks good. Not sure how well it will work on the rhodium phones. Anyone got any ideas.
Site is Canadian, but I'm sure there are alot of US sites.
I use the s305 with my ATT tp2 with energyrom, and it works fine. The incoming call quality is nice and loud, and people on the other end report that they can hear my clearly, but ofcourse its nowhere near as clear as my jawbone 2 in the outgoing department. The volume is pretty decent, with the phone on 100% volume in both system and pocketplayer, i can leave the s305 at about 50% volume and still be able to get enough volume to drown out a moderately filled starbucks.
65 dollars seems a bit steep though, i bought it locally at a fry's for 50, and prior to that i saw it even cheaper still online, i just couldn't wait for delivery as i was going on a trip and needed a replacement for my plantronics 855, which had better noise isolation but the incoming calls had my voice in it as an echo, and in-ear solutions sometimes is a hit or miss in fitment....in my case it was a miss.
I recommend the s305's if you prefer to still be able to hear around you, i use these when i'm cycling so i can still hear my surroundings.
I should also mention that since A2DP and headset are two different profiles, you can pair your jawbone for headset (its the only profile it supports) and deselect headset but leave bt stereo checked for the s305 and they will not conflict with each other even if they're both on simultaneously. The s305 also supports multiple connections simultaneously so if you happen to have a seperate bt stereo source (i use a samsung p2 as a dedicated mp3 player to save on my phone's power sometimes) you can pair the s305 to both and have them both be connected at the same time, and it will switch from one mode to the other if a call comes in and switch back when the call ends.
i have a nokia bluetooth headset which i think is brilliant. i dont listen to music on my tp2 but always use it with my nokia e51. it should work fine witht he tp2 aswell.
its the nokia bh103 Link
i use it for sat nav + music on the same phone at the same time while riding my bicycle and its great.

After I got my Tilt 2, I was looking for something wireless for listening to music (I Might)
I was thinking having Jawbone prime as my car bt device.
Looked and searched through the internet, nothing was reasonable price and suitable for working out / treadmill until I ran into this.

Its motorla, but a few reviews on the internet looks good. Not sure how well it will work on the rhodium phones. Anyone got any ideas.
