Questions of a newbie for the Athena (X7500) - Advantage X7500, MDA Ameo ROM Development

[email protected],
I want to buy a X7500 but before that I want to know something about the custom roms and installation; I will hope somebody could help me.
When I buy a branded version (like T-Mobile) could I unlock the device manually (if there is an SIM-lock)- is it easy?
Is it correct if I install a new SPL I could install the up to date original ROM from HTC (WM 6.0) on a branded device?
There are a lot of ROM here so I couldn't find one for me ...
Can somebody help me - I'm looking for a ROM (WM 6.1) that is very similar to the original ROM from the X7510 and not to much customized... (in german!!).
Many thanks and best Regards SavageDeath

Hello,
Welcome to the forum.
I think the answer to you in short is once you have unlocked and changed your SPL you can put on nearly any Athena rom you wish.
I give new people to this device such as yourself a link to pages you NEED! to read and UNDERSTAND! once you have it will answer all of the important questions you have. As with all PDA's a lack of understanding and making a mess of things will cause all sorts of problems. Read the WIKI HERE and all will be answered.
Jay
P.S. There is a ROM to suit nearly everyone on here I recon

Thanks a lot for your response!!
I think you're right - I read a lot in this athena forum this week and now I understand much more .
But one question is left all over the ROMS... are the X7500 drivers for the dpad (and VueFLO™) already in WM 6.1 ROMS integrated??? - Is this from ROM to ROM version different??
Best Regards SavageDeath!

VueFlow and all other drivers are working in WM6.1 and then some! such as by just turning the Athena through 90 degrees also turns the screen layout as well in Michy's roms. What do you mean by Dpad? each rom has different idea's in them, but all the hardware works in them all.

Thanks a lot again !!
Cool all hardware-buttons are fully integrated _ COOL!
Otherwise this means I can use VueFlow to scroll in browser and to turn the screen layout? Is this correct?
Because I think it's better to have the scroll functionality than to turn the screen.

You can have both on Michy rom, but as he states, it can slow things down.
Getting one then???

Hello responderman,

And... I bought an athena already but the device wasn't delivered until now ...
I think I have a lot of question more if the device is here .

XDAIIi Rom for XDAII

Does anyone know if it is possible to perhaps use the XDAIIi Base Rom along with one of the many extended roms in this section? I've noticed the extended rom is larger in the XDAIIi Rom than the XDAII rom. I'm not sure whats in the XDAIIi Rom yet as I haven't been able to open it. If any one has any ideas please share them.
Why don't you use search over the forum? The same questions was asked several times before.
You can use some programs from extended ROMs of other devices, but you cannot use main device ROM or radio ROM.
Sorry, I have been searching just hadn't come across that question yet. By the way I must say thankyou to you and the other guys for the development that you've been doing, I've upgraded mine and its never worked better. How do you learn all of this stuff?
Thanks

vp3G's WM6 v3.62 AT&T ROM?!??! Nahh, Prefer 19209.1.0.2 PV DVH..... however you will find that rom preferences are more numerous than the stars in the sky and what suits me or nicknowsky might not suit you. Look at the roms, c what you like and try a few. At least you'll get experience and have some fun flashing roms...
WARNING : Flashing roms is addictive and you will never find the "Perfect rom" as its always there on the forum just after you flashed what you thought was the pinnacle of perfection.

can someone tell me what hardspl version I have to use
for my MDA II?
I searched but I only found for Hermes and diamond.
as far as I know hardspl was a thing invented long after himalaya and they don't use it

hey thx for reply ifrst
does this mean i can flash my mda II with an diamond rom without unlocking or hardspl?
?no one who updated his mda II with an diamond rom?!?!?!?
Please notice that a Diamond ROM, as such, may not be installed on the Himalaya, as they are two totally different devices... Any attempt to do so will result in you damaging your device.
What you may find is a ROM that may use some elements extracted from a Diamond ROM...
For that, check the sub forums that have the win Mobile 6 ROMS for the Himalaya...

P.

last question: is touchflo 3d ported to the himalaya?
thx
I am afraid that a full port has not been achieved, due to the hardware requirements...
However, some attempts at partial ports or different ways to achieve the same funtion were made... Search the forum here http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=387
Have a look also for Manilla 2d, that is best suited for these devices.
Also, here you have a recent thread about a similar question: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=467830

hello all, i have an att fuze and have some general questions hoping you all could answer them for me...i really need them answered and would appreciate if you all could help...i cant search for all the answers and i have a great general idea on how the fuze runs but still need support.. =]
1.the raphael and the fuze are the same thing?
2. what is the rhodium?? does that have anything to do with the htc fuze? or does all the touch pros have the "rhodium"?
3. I seen the new post on how to flash the new roms but i was wondering if i do, can this affect if i return the phone to att? will the check to see which version i have? if so after i flash a new rom, will there be a way to put back the stock rom the way it was bought?
4. when i do flash the rom, will it delete my programs?
5.what is the radio????
any tips u wanna give???
Hi avemn1,
Welcome; the XDA Forum & Wiki provides volumes of information to assist in your quest for learning. That said, I appreciate that it can sometimes be a bit overwhelming to navigate all of this information ... sure was when I started.
Here is a quick response to your questions; should get you started

Nothing to do with Fuze; next generation HTC device. There's also a Rhodium TF3Dv2 (aka Manilla) XDA project - new Manilla /w Landscape.

Yes; you'll want to backup any personal data to an SD Card or PC.

The Radio is the heart of your cellular device. In the Raphael's case, the Radio (also called Stack) is comprised of circuitry to handle GSM, WDCMA, UTMS. The Raphael also includes Radio circuitry for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS.
The answers to all your questions are here all you had to do was search and read. Do not start threads like this in the ROM development forum if you must please poste them in the General forum. I am closing this thread.

i know this question relates to roms, but you will want to post these kinds of questions in the normal raphael forum.
i'm not sure what you mean by "flash visit card"... please explain this or send me a PM and i'll try to answer your question.

If I follow what he's saying, he wonders why chefs don't include Worldcard Mobile in their ROMs ("flash a visit card" = "take a picture of a business card"). The answer is that most don't find it very useful, but that's going to vary from chef to chef.
There appears to be a cab here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=339084 -- but it may be out of date (those posts are pretty old). You may be able to find a more recent version.
NATF has it
The NATF 4.6 ROM that I'm running has WorldCard Mobile baked into it. You can give that a try. I find it to be very stable, and have been using his ROMs since I had my AT&T Tilt.
Energy Rom
If this is correct and he is actually after WorldCard Mobile. NRG's roms also have it cooked in. I suspect there maybe others also.
