Question About 1350 mAh Battery from Amazon - Touch Diamond2, Pure Accessories

Hello all,
I just bought the 1350 mAh battery from Amazon, but when I opened it I got a little concerned: The battery is half the size in length, and a bit thicker than the original. Moreover, it is a bit wider, making me wonder whether it can fit inside the battery compartment. My most serious concern though, is whether it works properly with the TD2, or it might cause any harm.
Has anybody here tried it? Any feedback?

if it is smaller then it is not for d2.

I see . So it seems I am the only one who bought this and got conned?

The only battery I found on Amazon is for the Diamond, not for the Diamond 2.
I had a Diamond before and the battery does not fit at all in the Diamond 2.
Maybe you can send it back and get your money back.

This the battery I bought:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B002AANPYG/ref=ox_ya_oh_product
As you can see, it states clearly that it is a TD2 battery. My problem is that I cannot return it to them without proof that it is improper, and I am not even sure about this (since I have not tested it, and I am afraid to do so) at the moment...

It seems that Anfield800 has buy the same battery as you, you should contact him to check if it is working (and if he indeed have received the same battery, maybe yours is a mistake. Just sending HxWxL and the markings/serial numbers of the battery you have received should be enough to be sure you have received the same).
I am very interested in how things will turn out, I was considering buying the same battery...

For your information: TD2 = D2 = Touch Diamond 2.

I posted a question to that thread, asking Anfield800 about it... I also notified the seller, and he said there must be some mistake, and he will dispatch it again... Let's see...
I will keep you guys posted, anyway.

SOLVED! It seems the guy had sent me the wrong battery... I just got the correct one now, and everything is fine!

Can you tell how the new battery compare to the stock one? Increased battery life? Faster/slower charging? Fit the same?
Thanks!

Fit is identical to the original. When I bought it is was half-charged, so I cannot compare charging time yet... Regarding battery life, the first impressions confirm that it does seem to last longer.

Great.. do keep us posted abt the battery.
Extra 240mAh at the same size at that price seems very tempting..
Thanks!

any pictures with this battery installed??

Does anyone know what is the normal charging time for a 1350mAh battery? I noticed that it needs a couple of hours... Is this normal? Does the fact that it is still new has anything to do with it?
I also noticed that the battery percentage gets up to 99% instead of 100%... Is this of any significance?

A couple of hours seems normal, it depends a little bit on your charger (faster with the htc one than charging from your laptop for example), and also if u sue your device when charging (then it is slower), or even the room temperature.
99% seems strange though, with my original battery, I always reach 100% eventually...and I suspect it goes a little higher than that: the time to go from 100% to 99% is much much longer than for going from 99% to 98% ;-)

Well, it does stay at 99% even if I leave it the whole night charging with the HTC charger...
Maybe it's a bug of the battery icon? I am using the one suggested in this forum, that has percentages and different colors.

Can you post some photos of the battery jcan? It looks idential on ebay uk to this one :

No, you won't lose data
And this is not due to the pda, this was a 'feature' from WM2003
WM5 and WM6 both have the data/settings stored on a rom chip which doesn't lose its data when you soft-reset.
Are these batteries reliable? Don't want to have them exploded in my pocket! Has anyone already ordered?
Do these larger batteries fit with the original battery cover?
HERE is a 2400 maH Battery.
But It's a larger Backcover...
Thanks for the tip ... ordered one of these to compensate for running BatteryStatus.
5 days !! thats crazy talk !!
i get 2 at most on mine.
is this battery the same as the one you have?

That's the one I ordered, but I haven't received it yet. They don't tell you when they're out of stock on their site.
cool rob, let me know how it is when it arrives.
why is that guy getting 5 days of charge?
Bought one too
After reading the first very positive post about the 1500mAh battery, I've got one myself too. Unfortunately I am quite disappointed. The life seem to be the same or even worse than the original battery to me
Just GSM eats about 3-4%/8h but when I turn the device on I can see the percents going down anxiously fast even with the backlight on the first level
Got the 1500mAh battery this past Friday. So far, looks like I'm getting at least two days, maybe a little more between charges. Pretty much what I'd expect given the modest increase in amperage. Overall, I'm pleased given that it only cost about $30.
Hi there, I'm using the 1500 battery since monday and can't say that I see any difference to the standard 1150- no breakthrough and I don't see how to get over two days with normal use
what about the 2400 maH battery. Are there any benefits of getting that or not? (other than making your phone feel and appear heavier)
Where did you find a 2400 maH battery? And will any accessory for the P4350 work for my T-Mobile branded "Wing"?
Can anyone comfirm that the 2400 battery will come with the cover for the T-mobile Wing?
Please let me know... I will like to have one

There is a guy on ebay selling a 3000 mah battery for the wing with the blue cover. It looks large to me but if you need the extra power it may help. On ebay search for "wing battery". I think his seller id was nakedcellphone or something similar.

[Q] Extended Battery for T-Mo HTC TP2

Hi everybody. I have a little question; I'm looking for an extended battery for my T-Mobile HTC Touch Pro2. I had some Chinese crap for a while, but it started to completely die on me. At first I went two days on a single charge and do some mad texting and browsing the internet a few times a day for 20-some minute periods. Now, this battery lasts me half of the day just to have the phone on Stand By.
I have a cover identical to this one; mien is not sold anymore http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300432340749&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT
Now, I really need a new battery for my T-Mobile HTC Touch Pro2, but I also don't want to spend more than $40 with shipping, on it. Any help?? Thank You Guys For Your Help!!
Addition: I want something above 3200 mAh
I haven't seen anything of such a capacity. But you can obtain the item# 180463578660 from ebay.com (sorry I'm not allowed to post links), try it and let us know whether it's a crap, too

Thanx!! As far as I can tell, this is a cheap Chinese battery. I wouldn't be surprised if it dies 1 month down the road. My battery that I have now looks just like this one, if it is not the same as this. Thank You Though!!
Anybody else??

Whoa! That's a lot of mah's. I bet a HTC battery like this one...
http://www.daydeal.com/product.php?productid=38477&cat=4592

Of course your cover may not work, and would need this one to go with the HTC battery.

Neither of above given will work with T-Mobile's HTC TP2. I called, to verify.

I can't find any extended batteries for the GSM phones.
The only two suggestion I have, is do what I do. I have a spare OEM battery that gets charged in a cradle. I will take it with me if I fear a dead battery before I can find somewhere to charge back up. And I have one of these in my laptop bag as a redundant source for charging.

That cover won't work with the T-mobile US version. The US version has a very shallow cover, whereas all other models have a large wrap-around cover. You might be able to get the cover for the Mugen battery and use it with some other large battery.

That one won't work with T-Mobile US. It is a special case back.
There is only one option custom made for T-Mobile
That is the Mugen 3200, it is $79.

You need to use the "quote" button, or people won't know to which post you are responding. If you mean me, check my signature below.
If you go to NRG, use the "classic" CHT, not the 2.0; the 2.0 is still in beta and the last one I flashed was a battery hog.

Anker 1900mAh

FYI I got two Anker (1900mAh) off Amazon yesterday. It fits and works but a few times today the battery icon shows a ? and the settings show -1%. After about a minute the correct % comes back, not sure if it's the batteries or just this one. I'll try the second one tomorrow.
Really interested to get an opinion on battery life with the Anker batteries.
I am probably going to end up using them as backups, both of them take time before the % of power left will display. I never got the full 5 discharge/recharge done on one of them, but even without that it was lasting longer then the stock, as it should. I see someone else ordered some too, I'll be interested to see if those have the display issue.

Can you give any indication of how much more than stock you would say they last? Is it the near 20% as it should be?
I also get the question mark on the battery, It seems to be when the phone wakes up or when I plug it in it takes a few seconds to find the juice amount then it will start charging..
The battery is lightly taller then stock but it fits perfectly inside of the phone case. Tobad about the battery meter. Im going to run it for the day see if the ? will stop.
I would advise not to buy yet.
i too have the "?" on grey market batteries
i have bought several grey market batteries and get the question mark also, i've noticed these batteries are 3.7v and the oem battery is 3.8, i wonder if that is the culprit? I am hoping these hong kong manufacturers will get it right soon, i did find an oem battery for about $23 after shipping and am contemplating buying it, and yes my chargers don't fully charge my oem battery either, its always at 91 or 93%

Seriously; I have 2 "High-Capacity Gold Batteries", 1930 mAh, for my Titan.
When plugged in they show either 255% or -1% charge, never go back to normal.
When unplugged, they never show 100% charge, maximum of about 94%.
They seem to last about the same as the stock battery...
Hi, you have to full restore your HTC Titan (Backup recommended) if you get a new battery pack! I guess it indicates what the specs are in the battery. I know this because I bought a new battery pack and I had this problem! So I full restored my phone and now it's fine!

There are some pretty decent receptions of the brand, and then a couple not so decent, but in general it looks more positive than negative and so far no catastrophic failures to note.

It may tickle you a bit wrong to know Best4Power no longer sells anything on Amazon. But I hope someone steps up to be our Guinea pig - there will be much thanks for the brave soul first to take the plunge and post their findings here.
I've got one similar to this, I ordered from Amazon, well actually a site called Amazon review trader where I got a promotion code for the battery. It's a 3500mAh battery by the description, yet the same physical size as the original. What I can say about it is any time you reboot the phone and the battery is at 100% you are greeted with an invalid battery warning and the phone powers down. The only way to get it to remain on its trying to reboot it a few times and once it uses a couple percentages of the battery it's fine. I contacted the seller and they sent me a new one but it also does the same so not sure.
The battery appears identical in size, feel and shape to the original one, just wrapped differently. The first day of use I ended with over 4hrs screen time but I was in an area with little to no signal, the next day I was home most the day and got 6 and a half hours screen time. I literally ran the phone till it was at 2% then powered down and replaced the battery. I use the phone for browsing, emails, text and phone calls, location is generally set to wireless network etc.
The question on if I would buy another..I don't think so, reason being is the invalid battery warning message, batteries are just not something to play with, the actual battery tho outside of the rebooting issue stated does work fine and seems to last a bit longer when compared to the stock one.

Making a battery replacement due to Oreo update. Is it a good idea?

So my Moto Z 2016 fell into the Android 8.0 Oreo upgrade cluster**** and became a victim of the famous massive battery drainage, to the point it became impossible to use without keeping it plugged to a charger. Thing is one would logically assume this is a software issue, and therefore a rollback/downgrade would be enough to solve this problem. However, after dealing with multiple software upgrades and downgrades for 2-3 days straight with and without RSDLite in every imaginable way possible, I managed to install Android 6.0 Lollipop on the phone and everything works excellently, but the battery keeps having the same issues it had the second that phone got the lovely 8.0 update.
So my questions are: is it even remotely correct to assume the update caused physical damage to the battery? Or -even if I completely reinstalled a totally different Android version- there is still some part of the phone that contains an unmodifiable chunk of software that is corruptedly managing the battery information, therefore making buying a new battery irrelevant?
I'm asking this because I decided to believe in the first question as a yes and was about to proceed to buy a new battery AND a new glue to place the screen again back to where it is, but decided to make this thread to maybe avoid buying things that could've been unnecesary. Thanks in advance.
It's time to get a new battery.
Mine is pretty much okay with Oreo update back then. But after just 1++ year usage (bought it in Sept 2017), the battery life just dropped significantly.
Replaced it, and now it working fine. Even the repair center didn't factory reset my device (I'm on Omni ROM), so it couldn't be a software issue.
I can confirm new battery will solve the problem. I had tried everything before I ordered an original battery pack (made by Lg and my phone has juice for more than a day now. (a half before)
I think fast/turbo charging also kill the battery, so now I use a 1,5/2A charger

Thank you for the quick response. I've noticed that there are many after-market batteries which have larger dimensions than the original. Do you think by just changing the battery to a new one, will solve the problem? I mean it was just effective batteries?
I think the best to replace to the original GV30. It solved the battery problem of my phone right after changing it and I'm not alone with it I guess. I had tried everything before (calibration, doze apps, etc). Nothing works if the cells of the battery are dead. It's a hardware issue

Thank you for the quick response. I've noticed that there are many after-market batteries which have larger dimensions than the original. Do you think by just changing the battery to a new one, will solve the problem? I mean it was just effective batteries?

Yeap! This is the conclusion, bad cells in the battery. I also believe the problem enhanced by the turbo charger, as you said... :/ But, how to prove it... (?)
Prove? I can prove in a year
Just think about it. It's simple physics, faster thermal expansion kills cells. That's why they're said not to let discharged fully. Or whatever

Look, many customers have tried these extended batteries but noone can prove that this myth works! On the other hand, many videos and comments have uploaded on the internet and people have shared their experience: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9hRdg75PAMw
I believe that it's impossible to extend a battery capacity while the space inside the phone is very specific.
A project, though, is in progress by a member of XDA who is trying to replace GV30 to GV40 battery: https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-z/help/replace-gv30-gv40-t3896369
You'll want a battery that's SMALLER capacity than the oem. The issue is that lithium ion batteries hate being thinned out so trying to put the 2600maH OEM battery inside this chassis is a recipe for disaster. I believe the iFixit battery is around 2400maH.
I think we'd be fine with shorter life than stock. What many are missing is consistent battery life. It's one thing to get 2hours SOT, it's another to be at 80% and have it shutdown.

It's appropriate to give us a link about these batteries.
I did change the motherboard and the battery to a new one gv30 and I get 3-4 SOT. What's your opinion about gv40 inside moto z?

Don't do it. The screen will bulge out. There is essentially 0 give inside the Moto Z chassis. If you're fine seeing into the phone, then it'll work for you. However, I'd probably opt for the iFixit kit. It's an official Moto solution, and while it might have the same problem it won't introduce a worse problem.
May batteries you find online will say "OEM" but they are often rebrands. And even if they're just 0.1mm thicker, the screen won't adhere. A proper phone replace shop ordered me a replacement battery and it was too thick. This was a year ago, and I eventually just replaced it with a $300 new Moto Z from Amazon (I had broken my screen replacing the battery myself).
I don't know the links persay, but I see there's this one from SWARK https://www.amazon.com/Replacement-Compatible-XT1650-03-XT1650-05-XT1650-01/dp/B07GQWHLH1
I haven't tried that one myself, but I'd be curious to see the thickness.
Just replacing my moto z battery with cheap (fake?) gv30 that i buy for only around $7 in my local (Indonesia) marketplace
Please look the attached picture for its (peak) performance, and this how i got those number:
- charge to 91% with 5v/1.2A charger (ASUS charger)
- watching movie for 3 hours with airplane mode and bluetooth earphone on
- sleeping with airplane mode on
- using my phone normally with wifi on and data off until the battery reach 3%
Thank you all for your answers and sharing your experiences.
Unfortunately, after buying all I needed from the USA (battery pack and 2 B7000 glue blisters shipped to Argentina) I proceeded to attempt to fix the phone. While heating up the screen to remove it, I burned all of the LCD corners and completely ruined the screen. I don't know what did I do so differently from all of the technicians in videotutorials where thay apply the exact same or even more heat on the screen and still left it intact, but there's nothing that can be done about it except buying a new screen replacement, but since we didn't want to spend much money on this phone, we just discarded it. Such a shame and disgraceful event, it still bugs me out.
