Like what?? A telescopic stylus?
You can buy a normal sized pen from various sources that is both a pen and a stylus (like those multi-colour biros you can buy) if you think you're going to lose the stylus.
I've not had any issues so far.

I do also think that Hd stylus is so short, but there is a solution.Try to buy a Ndrive s400 stylus.
In is initial position is like hd, but you can resize it.

I'll try and be constructive
For the length issue - obviously, no, there is no solution. But for the thickness (if you're talking about the fact that the HD stylus is very prone to leaving the casing and getting lost) you can simply use normal sticky tape and make a few rounds around the stylus to make it thicker.
After losing 2 styluses so far, this is what I did and it works perfectly.
