How to add mulitple numbers to one contact? - Hero, G2 Touch Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

As title really, how do I do it? If I go into edit contact, I have one space for their number and I cant see anyway of adding more?

MAGIC user but give this a try -
go to contact. LOng press on contact - choose edit contact.
in Phone numbers section at the end of the number you already have, should be a green plus and red minus. Pressing the green plus allows you to add another number I think. Pressing the minus deletes a full number.

I believe you edit a contact. then when in the edit screen, there is a button labeled 'Add' 'add more information' (at the bottom)
This allows you to add more phone numbers

You better have all the contacs in the phone memory and not on your sim card then you can edit them and add more info

column width in contacts

Hi,
Is there anyway of making the columns wider in contacts, i have 5 contacts in the same family with double-barrelled names and all i see is the first part of thier surnames.
cheers
Smallboy
well if you in tools and under options choose show name only you get some more room for your contact name but then of cause you cant see the phone nr itself
cheers, it would be handy to see the numbers but one extra tap wont make a difference.

[Solved] How do you add another number for a contact on the phone?

Sprint Hero
Firmware 1.5 (stock)
I have searched for it, and I see no answers....
Problem: I have a contact in "people" named "john smith". "john smith" has a number (or two, or three) entered in for his contact already, let say his "mobile" number. "john smith" calls me and I say "hey where are you calling from?" he tells me he is calling from home. So now I would like to add that number to his contact. I cannot find a way to do this.
I have tried going into "people" then finding the contact, and going into "edit", I've tried pushing and holding everywhere to hopefully find a menu, i've looked in the "menu" and the "add" button looks promising but no go.
The manual says:
1. Display the entry in People
2. Scroll down the screen and tap: ADD>PHONE
3. Tap the type of phone number you want to add (for example, HOME or WORK)
4. Enter the phone number and tap: SAVE
...This sounds great, but when you click on MENU and then click on ADD it asks you to "select a default action".
I know I could add this in my contact entry for "john smith" through gmail, but you would think that I could also do this through my phone, it woould make more sense.
Thanks in advance for any insight.

If you go in via the people widget, and you select a particular contact - one way is to select the three parallel bar button at the bottom of the widget - you can then select the person from the list after this (it defaults to the list). Selecting the contact should show the details for that person. From there, if you hit physical "menu" button, it will present options including "edit". Click on the "edit" option on screen, scroll to the bottom and click on "Add details".
thanks bluehawk, I had forgotten that I posted this.
and forgotten to thank you.

Clear Default Phone Number

I mistakenly set my wife's cell number as her "default" number. Therefore, that number is automatically dialed when I click on her contact widget.
Question #1: Is there any easy way to CLEAR that default number setting so that I am given the list of all of her numbers when I click her contact widget again?
<As a workaround, I am aware that I can delete her cell number and retype it. Just looking for an easier way!>
Question #2: Is it possible to have the default text phone number be different from the default dialing phone number?
Press and hold the number that you want to make default. A menu should popup saying "Mark As Default", click on it.
As for Default Text Number, I'm not sure that it exsists....
Good Luck!

Thanks, I know I can do that but my goal is to clear the default number and NOT set another one as the default.
1 widget does both
it is not hard to just delete the widget then long press on screen select widget then select contact quick task select contact (your wife),then on home screen click the + button for phone, select her name, pick which number you want it to dial then hit done, then do the same for text click the + button for which text number(can even be a different phone number) you want to text to, hit done and you will have a widget that you can do either phone or text her from the home screen.

[Q] contact icon is missing

I dont know what happen. I woke up one morning and the contact icon on the bottom of the home screen is gone. I usualy have four icons there. Phone contact messaging and application. But now i only have three. I still could see contact icon inside application. how do i fix it?
Open application drawer, menu, edit, long press the relevant icon and put it back? Or similar, I forget the exact order of things in TW.
how do i do that? im running on stock ics. I didnt root
I just told you? What's unclear and why are you going on about root?
In the 'Phone contact messaging and application', click on the application icon.
press the 'menu/options' button - this is the left of the 3 buttons at the bottom of the phone. this will pop-up a menu. Select 'Edit' from this menu.
You can now move all the icons about. You can move icons from page to page and also from the page to the 'Phone contact messaging and application'.
Once you have changed it to the way you want it, select the 'menu/options' button and select Save.
This has been already answered, but I thought I would make it a bit clearer. There is no requirement to root the phone for this as it is a standard feature of Android.

[Q] [URGENT][PACMAN] How do I remove a number from blacklist?

I was going through my call log and noticed that when opened the menu when viewing a particular number (my dad) there was an "Add to blacklist" menu item, which I pressed. Now I can't seem to figure out how to remove the number from the blacklist. Where do I go to find this?

I answered you in the PAC thread. In future, please don't double post questions...
dialer>settings>blacklist. From there you can edit the list.
