[Question] Flashing Taiwanese Cruise 09 (T4242) - Touch Cruise 2 ROM Development

Hi everyone
I just purchased a Taiwanese HTC Cruise 09 (it's NOT authentic HTC Phone, it is the Taiwan version OEM HTC Product)
The phone has a working Windows Mobile 6.1, and I can make calls (it's unlocked) but it has different ROM than the original HTC Cruise 09.
Now I'm wondering if I can flash this device and put HTC rom, I'm totally new in flashing
I did search to find similar cases but I think most users have an authentic HTC Cruises so my case is different
Hope to find a solution here.
Thanks

you should go to 592zn.com

I Also have clone version of the HTC Touch Cruise II.
Where to find another ROM for it?
The above site is in chinese and I only speak english.

Look here

AFAIK T3232 and T4242 clones have the same hardware parts and differs only in covers.
So ROM must be the same

Htc Tytn/Voda VPA III V1605 Housing/Cover

Hi everybody I'm new on this forum and please sorry for first if my english isn't very good but i'm Italian..however..it's just passed a month since I've bought a Vodafone Vpa III (htc tytn) on eBay at a surprising price.
Unluckly today I was running to catch a taxi and my phone just fall down from my pocket on the asphalt of the sidewalk.. the phone is totally scratched!! Anyone here knows where to buy a brand new cover/housing? If this was possible, I would like to buy the original Vodafone Vpa III or the original Htc Tytn manifacturer housing. I've searched on eBay but I found only a cover that seems to fit at the phone but the keys at the bottom of the screen are different. It was the 8125 or 8252 i can't remember the right name. Does it fits correctly? and where I can find the original Vpa III housing or the original Htc Tytn housing?
Not sure if this is much help...but I bought this. I love it!

Yep it's really nice but it's not what I'm looking for..however did you know if an original housing of the phone that you had linked before fits regulary or is totally compatible with the htc tytn?

[Q] Differences between Hong Kong and UK Flyer?

Hi,
I'm really keen on getting a Flyer for various reasons. I've got an opportunity to potentially source one via our Hong Kong office.
Can anyone advise whether there are any differences between the Hong Kong and UK/EU version of the device?
Is there perhaps a firmware difference?
From a support angle, I'm guessing the warranty would only be good in Hong Kong, or does HTC do an international warranty?
Thanks
Iain
Bump.
Anyone any thoughts on the subject? Perhaps a different way of looking at is, is there any differences between the EU vs US vs ASIA versions (other than the inclusion of the Pen and Case)?
Thanks
Iain

The easy way to find out any possible differences is to check HTC sites. Here are the links that will allow you to do your own comparisons:
US HTC Flyer
HK HTC Flyer
EU HTC Flyer
For customer support, you can check here.
Thanks rlydiard.
I'd already read these, on paper the EU and ASIA versions seem to be the same item (and in that case probably are at a hardware level).
When I'm unsure of is at the firmware level. Whether EU and ASIA share a firmware or does the HK version perhaps not include any English language components (for example).

Since the HTC Flyer is using Android, at least on OS level, you should be able to switch between various languages, just as with Android phones. I am not totally sure if that is the case with HTC's Sense that comes with the Flyer, but if it is not the case, I am quite sure that you would have a choice of English or Chinese in Hong Kong.
Perhaps someone in Asia who already has a Flyer can respond to this thread and clarify this issue for you.
I don't know about the different between the UK version and the HK one. I have the HK one and this is what I can tell you. Its has both Chinese and English Interface. Actually, I am using English interface all the time. It has Chinese Pen Input for Chinese user. It has some local Chinese Web site but I never use it. I don't see any problem if you are just using English only.
Thanks cychan.
So it would seem that that there are difference versions of the firmware.
I've just purchased one in Malaysia - which has a English/Thai/Chinese/Vietnamese (with Malaysian/Singapore English options) - doesn't have US/UK/AU English
Thanks all.
In addition to asking the question here I did also email HTC UK with a similar question. I thought some of you may be interested in HTC's response:
"Concerning your questions about using a Hong Kong Flyer in the UK I can help you with that.
If the HTC Flyer is SIM free and unbranded it will work in the UK and can be repair under warranty at the nearest international repair centre (the UK)."
So, the only disadvantage it seems of having a non-UK/EU model is that potentially firmware updates may take a little longer to arrive depending on HTC's release schedule. However, even that would only seem to be a delay of a couple of days, rather than weeks/months.
Thanks again
Iain
Changes (that i have found):
OK ... as stated only 3 languages (1 English)
When using with no SIM the operator is shown in Chinese characters on the lock screen REGARDLESS of language selected
Youtube most popular videos are China's most popular videos
Watch doesn't let you buy / rent movies on the Chinese version

I bought the WiFi only version from the official UK HTC flyer store (expansys) last Thursday and is currently being shipped to me in Australia. I was not aware of the different versions at the time and when they told me over the phone that it will be shipped from Hong Kong I thought nothing of it.
Now I am worried it will be an inferior version to the UK version I assumed I would be getting.
Does anyone know if the pen and case come with the HK version?
And should I be worried, or am I worrying for no reason? :-s
**update**
I Called Expansys and they confirmed that the one on its way to me was shipped from HK and box contents includes pen and case. Also that it should not be any different just because it was shipped from HK, they just have a warehouse out there to supply that part of the world. If this turns out to be untrue I'll update my post again. Feeling a bit better now

[Q] HTC Diamond 2 dual sim (T-mobile version)

Hello.
I´m considering the option of buy this equipment, and I´ve searched the forum and could not find a straight answer. Is is possible to use one of the beautifull rom´s listed here in this phone equiped with dual sim and a different processor?
Thanks,
Jorge
Hello Jorge,
To be clear, no it's not possible to flash any normal HTC Diamond2 ROM in a HTC DUAL SIM phone because all HTC dual sim phones are clones.
This means they are copies from China with other hardware and software.
On this forum are 2 important posts for you to get ROM's for the clone HTC Diamond2:

To give you an advice, do not buy this phone because it's old fasion.
There is a new Chinese phone on the market Lenovo A60 with Dual Sim and 3G support. It cost between 150 and 200 dollar or in China 949 YUAN.
Taobao A60
Buying is most easy at Etowalk but more expensive. You can also buy from TaoBao.com but you need a company like buyfromtaobao.com to buy it for you. That's also making it more expensive again.
A active dicussion about this and other phones can you find here:

HTC 7 Mozart Optimus PT Operator

Hi folks,
I'm a HTC user but with a still survivor HTC Touch working with WM6.5, and guess what even without those angry birds a nd funny stuff to play in Android or Iphuc phones i get all that i want with this old toy.
I hav on my portuguese operator Optimus PT a HTC 7 Mozart wichi can buy for only 100€ i think it's a good value.
Now my doubt is, the is certain that is blocked or branded to the network and how can i give a treatment to upgrade it to a more beautifull windows experience.
I already read the "How to flash" and the 18 roms already found but i only see orange uk and asia roms and none PT can i go up only with the unbranded HTC european rom ????

[Q] Flash Lumia 920

Hello.
I have recently bought a Lumia 920. The network operator is printed as "Sw variant Adriatic CV v511.01". As I am a German, and I bought it in a German shop, I would like to flash it, to become a unbranded 'German' version as I fear updates for this region will appear faster than in the current one. Also I would like to use the newest available OS version. Now here is my real question: What should I do now, and how should I do it? I am very new to the WP8 Nokias, as I only had a HTC WP7 device before. Therefore I am really looking forward to detailed answers to help me
I attached two screenshots with my system information.
Thanks in anticipation,
FlashTek
