best class 6 microsd uk - G1 Accessories

i was just wondering what the best class 6 microsd card available in the uk is. i know people are saying a-data is very good but i cant seem to find one on the uk. i have tried a google search but the websites are american and prices are in dollars. help would be much apreciated. thanks in advance
edit: i currently have a kingston 8gb class 4 sd card but i dont think tis good enough to run the latest hero builds. also does using an adapter to transfer files effect the speed and is it better to use a usb adapter instead of a card adapter?

This site seems to have some good prices: http://www.7dayshop.com/catalog/def...rwords=microsd&go=SEARCH&comp=&page=1&sort=3d . They are apparently not the quickest shop.
One guy on that site claims the transcend class 6 is slower than his Kingston class 4, but gave it 4/5 and bought a second... I think the Kingston is quite quick for a class 4 anyway, the rating system is a little wacky and no-one verifies it.

ok thanks. does anyone have a transcend 8gb card that can comment on the quality/speed?

http://www.amazon.co.uk/SANDISK-MOB...1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1251474559&sr=8-1
I thought this was quite cheap for a well known brand.

I was in the exact same situation as you, live in the UK and couldn't find an adata card that everyone was raving about. I settled on a Transcend 8GB Class 6, and I have no complaints. I have *never* had the card show up as damaged, and have never had any issues with apps2sd and swap. The speed is decent too, never had a write speed bellow 6mb/s. I'd go for a transcend if I was you.

I bought two 8 GB class 6 microSD cards on eBay that are being sold as "FOR NOKIA E90 N95" and so far they're both working great (one is in my G1 and the other in friend's BB Storm).
I did read/write tests and they are not fake as far as I can tell and the price is really good, compared to branded products.

ok thanks guys. i seem to have found a website that sells adata memory card in the UK but im not sure if if they are reliable or not so i might stick to the transcend and sandisk ones.

1. class 2
2. class 4
3. class 6

the higher the class the faster the card...

or i dont get ur actual question...
I'm looking to upgrade to a 16gb card. Does it matter what brand or anything? I see tons of different cards on ebay.

well if you have the money don't buy one from ebay look on play.com or somewhere as the ebay ones are probably no where near as reliable, i have always bought of ebay personally and never noticed any issues but i know they are cheapo ones so will probably not last very long, and don't always hold the full 8gb
Read speeds!!
if im right class refers to write speed 2mb 4mb 6mb
surely the read speed is more important for running android via sd on card reader of touch hd
what is the microsd card reader hardware spec of the touch hd, if anyone knows
i managed to buy a class 10 16gb kingston microsdhc on amazon £34, whether it arrives as class 10 is a different story tho.

Good microsd card?

Can anyone recommend a good micro sd card for $50 dollars or under?

WinTek cards from Frys are cheap & work very well. Sometimes you can find Patriot 32GB Class 10 for 80ish if you're willing to spend a little more at Frys also.
I'm currently using the Transcend 8GB class 6 in all of my devices, speeds are pretty good so far - they are around $15-20 including a SD adapter.

I'm ordering a couple of these (from NewEgg) for my TF:
WINTEC FileMate 16GB Professional Class 10 Secure Digital SDHC Card
Can't link yet, so just search for "N82E16820161396" from the main NewEgg site. Price seems good; $23.99.

Unless you have the keyboard dock already, and with the way that's been going thats doubtful

Wow! You are correct, sir. Major brain fart on my part. Hadn't hit the confirm order button so was able to save myself the headache.
I am currently using the Wintec 16gb class 10 and they are fine. Speeds are way above 10mb per second write. I get up to 12 mb per sec write and 17mb per sec read.
Polaroid 16GB from Fry's is $17.99 this week after rebate. Bad news is mine just died today in my N1 (error check fails / can't format). Good news is that it's lasted in my daily driver phones for the last two years. Considering I used it for swap while I had a G1 I'm surprised it didn't die sooner. Not a bad deal if you regularly backup your SD.

$36 dollars for a 16GB class 6 card? Let me enlighten you, shawnbuell meet Newegg: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...ption=&Ntk=&CFG=&SpeTabStoreType=&srchInDesc=
I have this card in my HTC EVO (should work with any device though) and pretty happy with it, its fast and cheap!
Patriot Signature 16 GB Class 10 MicroSDHC Flash Memory Card
Its definitely a class-10, the videos and pictures play and save pretty quickly compared to the stock card that came with the htc evo.
Can someone recommend a good (aka fast) 32GB micro sd card? I'm not concerned with cost. I'd rather just spend the money up front than worry about whether or not the card is too slow. Also, is there a nice comparison chart of 32GB cards with read/write speeds of various class cards?
Thx
EDIT: Well, I'm a bit confused. Which SD format does the tablet actually support? SD or SDHC? I would like to get the largest, fastest card.
MicroSDHC should work just fine.

Sandisk 32GB micro at Amazon...

This is a pretty darn good price for a 32GB micro sdhc! Also being Sandisk brand, they usually go for more. It doesn't specify what class it is, but its probably class 4? Anyways, its only $56 and eligible for Prime shipping! The msrp is $138 on the official website. Sweet!
Here's the official link on Sandisk's page...http://www.sandisk.com/products/mobile-memory-products/sandisk-microsdhc
EDIT: I guess this card is a Class 2, according to one of the reviewers at Amazon. They also said it performed very well though.

I use one of those for my evo, it works fine. Then again the evo came with a class 2 card so theres no reason why it wouldn't, its just initially putting stuff on there takes more time, read speeds are totally adequate for a phone.
I think the quality of the sandisk cards are great, I have a three year old 8gb in my tablet right now and it works flawlessly. That is a great price, but it seems kind of slow given current options out there. I'm probably going to buy a 16gb class 10. This patriot one seems like a good deal.
That patriot card is great. I actually have it in my tf right now. I've done speed tests on it that came out pretty high. There is an app you can use called 'sd tools' in the market. Good card for the price!

I bought the Sandisk 32GB Class 4 version from Amazon for the price. It works great and when I watch 1080p movies there is no stuttering
Transcend make good cards too, for cheaper. I've been using a 16GB Class 10 SD with my camera for 5 months and haven't had a problem.
Although I haven't put it in a Transformer yet, I have the SanDisk 32GB microSD and through my SD card reader on a mac it tests at 5.1mb/s write, 13.9mb/s read.
Sandisk speeds
If the card is really slow, and it was cheap, it could be a fake, but don't jump to conclusions quite yet. I once bought a 16gb Class 10 SDHC card, and when I couldn't achieve the 30mb/s read (or anywhere near it) I contacted Sandisk.
I then spent the next week or so sending them pictures, serial numbers and other details such as where I bought it from and it took them a surprising amount of time to confirm whether it was genuine.
Once confirmed it was genuine, although I had a new sandisk multi-card reader, I had to get a specific sandisk sdhc only reader to achieve the fabled 30mb/s. Sandisk allowed me to send my current one to them and they sent me out one that would work to it's maximum capacity.
All this, just to say you can't trust the speed tests you get from windows or osx, as even when you have genuine cards and genuine readers, sometimes there's more to it than that. When I contacted Sandisk I mentioned that they should make it more clear, as nowhere do they say that you need specialist readers to get the best speeds!

Best 32gb miscrosd for TF

I'm in a dilemma on which microsd to buy. I want to get a 32gb class 10 microsd but the companies such as patriot, lexar, kingston, etc all have complaints about the card performing more like a class 6 or slower. I also read in some cases a sandisk class 4 outperform these cards. Is there a popular 32gb microsd that people are using with the tf that is showing great performance?
Do you really think that you are going to notice a difference between class 6 and 10?
Also remember that the class only has to do with write speeds, not read speeds.
With that being said, I just picked up a PNY 32gb class 10 from Newegg for $56 delivered, they are out of stock on it again, but sign up for the "Auto Notify" and you can grab one as soon as it gets back in stock (most likely a few days, like last time)
BTW, it works perfectly in my Transformer...

Have you tested the write/read speeds for the PNY card you bought?
If so, could you please post them - I'm on the look out for such a card.

Micro SD card suggestions?

I am looking for a micro SD card for my Asus either 16 or 32gb. Any suggestions? Class, brand where to purchase at decent price? I appreciate any info and thanks.

I have the Adata 16GB Class 10 from newegg. Works really well.
i got a 16gb sandisk from amazon...pretty cheap.... im sure its a generic one but never had a problem with generics
I've used the 16gb class 10 Wintec Filemate. I tested it with hw2test (forgot the exact name), and it turned up 12 mb/s writing and nearly 20 mb/s reading. So it's definitely a class 10 and performs higher than its class actually. It's worked well for the past year, and is generally around 25-30 bucks on Amazon.
Try checking out Amazon's prices, they're usually pretty good. You can get a 16GB card for as low as $16 and a 32gb starting around $40. I usually stick with Sandisk; haven't had a problem yet. They're usually a bit more, but the reviews tend to be high. I went with a 32gb-- class 4 to keep the price down-- but I think I'm gonna go with an Ultra model (15 mb/s) when I get a 32GB SD card for the dock. I have one in 2GB and side by side, it's like tortoises (not the fast ones on youtube) and hares. And with recent price drops, it'll be cheaper!
I appreciate the replies. Is there a major difference between a class 10 and a class 4?

I got a 32G Class 4 Sandisk off Amazon for ~$50. Works great. Sustained write is somewhere around 6 MB/sec.

You might want to check you are actually getting the full 32gb capacity on that card. There are a lot of fakes on Ebay that show up in Windows etc as the size stated but if you actually try to copy that amount to the card it fails.
Ive had great luck with both my aData and Sandisk 32gig cards. One is a class 2 and one is a class 4.
One thing to note with classing of cards is pretty much any card will be fast enough to operate with the TF. Playing videos and holding data for programs. The Class only refers to write speed, so its how fast you can put data on the card. This will primarily come into play when copying large files to the card. If you arent worried about that as much then you could save some money passing on higher classed cards.

Using TeraCopy to copy a big movie file to the Adata class 10, I got a constant speed of 16MB/s. Reading is a little bit slower, around 14-15MB/s.
Does the microSD SDHC TF Memory work with the transformer or would only the regular microSD without the HC work?
Can someone link me to a decently priced 16gb one on ebay?

All SD cards above 4 GB are SDHC. SDHC reader is backward compatible with the standard SD card. (without HC).
ebay are full of fake memory card. Stay away.
Thank you so much tengtengvn .... guess I'll just pay a lil more and get one directly from a store
