Weird GSM problem: cannot register on the network - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam Software Upgradin

Suddenly this morning my GSM died. No, it actually didn't die. When I go to phone settings/network and choose manual, it searches and finds all networks in my region, but then I choose the network my SIM belongs to and the phone says it cannot register on the network. I tried flashing a new radio, stripped ATT radio, new ROM etc. always the same problem. By the way the green flashing led is not working as well. When the phone initially boots, the GSM version is displayed correctly.
So, did anybody had a similar problem before?

somehow it is working back now after over 36 hours of death. I left it in airplane mode through the night and replaced the battery before going to sleep (I had a spare). Now it is functional. I don't know what the problem was, but may be the battery. I will try it with the other battery later and let you know.

[Q] Galaxy SII CF-Rooted KH1 - "baseband unknown" intermittent problem

Hello,
I have a random/erratic problem with my SGSII reporting that the baseband is unknown and no IMEI being present.
It happens randomly through the night, or if the phone reboots itself, the signal icon changes to a circle with a line through it, and no network connectivity works (except for WiFi).
I've backed my \EFS up previously and restored that with no luck, re flashed my modem with no luck.
Usually the fix is to reboot the phone a few more times and eventually it comes back on.
I've got an app called 'network' which gives me various stats on the connectivity type etc (from my nexus one days) under 'Set preferred network type: I have an extra entry called 'Unknown' which gets selected by the phone, and changing this to one of the GSM variants doesn't have any effect.
Like I said, it's random and not much of a show stopper right now since I'm thinking it's a software problem. I don't want to RMA my handset just yet.
I have seen some other threads where people seem to have this permanently and there are no resolutions provided in the threads.
Has anyone else experienced this?
Kind Regards,
Chris.
I m relieved to know someone else also has this problem. Last Sunday my handset just hanged on lockscreen, so I pulled out battery, reinserted it and sim stopped detecting, so I tried couple of restarts, factory resets still nothing. So flashed firmware a couple of times still nothing. So when I checked if firmware was flashed correctly, the baseband was showing unknown and IMEI was completely blank. Handset is still in warranty so I don't want to take any chances, I am sending it in on Monday. Will keep you posted on what happens. Let me know if ur problem is solved.
Phone started regularly reporting that the SIM wasn't inserted so a quick phone call to O2 and a courier is coming to pick the handset up tomorrow.
Still under warranty so they should be able to fix/replace it.
Pain in the backside though to back up everything and then reinstalling it again when it comes back (either repaired, or a new/replacement one)
Right,
I got it back.
Apparently they identified it as a faulty SIM card slot. I was sceptical of this at first, but I persevered with it.
Surely enough, 1 day into using it, the same happened.
Back to the repair centre with photographic evidence of the problem.
Same happened to me a few night ago, removing the sim and re-inserting it fixed the problem for me.
I haven't seen it again yet.
I was on the stock firmware and insecure kernel.
me too... never been update or using any clockmod firmware..it just suddenly happen... any other way to fix this...
I'm also having the same problem for days now. My phone is full stock, never rooted it, never installed and unsecure kernel.
It randomly loses IMEI, Baseband and GSM signal. Sometimes it comes back after rebooting phone, but sometimes it seems to be permanent.

Keep losing data connection.

I have an unlocked unrooted S3 on Vodafone UK. This issue has been happening for the last few days whereby i have full 3G/H+ connection, but absolutely no data is working. No email, no websites loading, no whatsapp, nothing. The issue goes away as soon as I restart my phone, but then it comes back after a few hours.
Has anyone experienced this, and if so, how have you fixed it?
Go back to your network/phone provider .
Or flash different modem .
jje
I am having this issue too. I may be wrong, but i realise this happens if i turn off my Wifi, the 3G will not want to connect to the 3G network.. Anyone else having such problem?
By the way mine is International version (Location: Singapore)
I'm having a similar problem where I have a good 3G/H/H+ connection but data seems to drop intermittently across all applications - I get the same sort of error message in browsers/facebook/twitter that you receive when you have no signal.
Anyone have anything similar and know of any fix?
I am not having such issue so far. I been updating my SGS3 using over-the-air update. I guess the MODEM has been updated as well.
Go to market and download "fast dormancy"(by gorkhanmoral) then disable it and reboot.
Check if your speed has improved,if it got worse then enable it again.
U need ROOT to use this tool.
I it didn't help, then flash a different modem
This is good modem
Cwm flashable

have you got any battery saving app like juice defender installed in your phone?
Is mobile data working at all? or is it constantly "uploading" but never "downloading" (up arrow lights but not down).
If what I just described is your issue then this is a network issue relating to android in general.
Basically your phone will be connected to two radio towers and gets confused as to which one it should use, rebooting or flight mode may help force it onto one tower or you may have to speak to your carriers "high network technical team" or whatever they are called for you to get them to force it onto one tower.
I had this issue on the HTC hero (a long time ago now) and it took 9 months for Orange UK to work out what was going on.

Congrats. Orange Luxembourg (my gf's network provider) still hasn't got a clue.. But they seem rather clueless about everything except writing invoices.
Flashing an Asian modem on her S2 made the issue far less prominent since they seem not to get confused by antenna ping-pong. (Tango Luxembourg, my carrier, has this issue too in the main city)

Losing signal overnight

Hey guys
Just bought an Alpha and im very happy with it, But, it keeps losing service overnight.
The phone stays charging overnight and when i wake up its not registered on the network. I just reboot it and its ok again.
I Updated the firmware to last version (says KIES) but the problem still presists. Looks like he goes on netwoork sleep mode or something.
I just changed the network mode settings to "Only wcdma/gsm" cause it could be the mobile phone trying to connect to LTE during the night, with no success. Let's see if that helps.
I searched the forum but could't find any thread related to this.
Is this a common problem?
Thanks in advance

Sm-s102dl no service

Greetings everyone....
I've been battling with a problem quite some time now but to no avail, please you support will be appreciated. below is the breakdown of what happened:
I have a samsung galaxy phone A10e, model no: SM-S102DL, it was network locked to Tracfone. Gladly I found someone who unlocked it remotely. it worked perfectly for 2 weeks and some days, the network started misbehaving- fluctuating seriously, it got to the point that the network become totally bad- no service.
I met the person who unlocked it, he said everything was fine, he hinted maybe the phone need firmware.
Upgraded the firmware from android 9 to 10, still the same, I reflash the phone using the CSC without home to completely wipe the device, still the same.
right now, it appears the case is worse, because the device get hot and the battery drains faster, I noticed the airplane mode will be activating itself intermittently without stopping, *06# and *0011# take forever to load. additionally, when I removed the SIM, the no service still remains, it doesn't change to emergency, and insert SIM only pops up once in a while, intermittently with airplane mode doing its own sideways.
i tried to downgrade it, but no way, I even tried to activate "OEM unlock" but the option was and still not present in the developer option.
I'm stuck I don't know what to do.
please help!

No Service - All of a sudden - Have to do a SIM swap to get it working again

I have an Samsung S9 Plus that was an AT&T unit (I think) and I flashed it over to the global firmware so I could use it on Visible (Verizon). It has been working for months, but I have now had this problem happen twice. I get up on a Monday, and notice that my phone has no service. I think it says "No Network Connection" or something like that. The first time I tried many of the usual steps - switching airplane mode, resetting network, wiping the cache, long support chats with Visible. What finally got it working again was putting in another sim(from Red Pocket - AT&T). That made the phone go through a reboot to swap over to the new sim. Then I put the old Visible sim back in. The phone does another reboot, and now everything is working again.
Is there a way that I can get the phone to go through this process without swapping the sims? I would just like to know if there is a more efficient way of fixing this problem when it pops up.

Call your carrier and have them to a reprovision. I had this happen with T-mobile coming from Sprint.. They will have you turn off the phone, do something on their end, and after that it should work.
Just to update, I have switched over to ATT Prepaid. Since the change, I have not had the problem happen. I think it must have been an issue with Red Pocket. Either that or something that got fixed with an update. Just putting these data points out there for anyone else that is having issues like this.
