ROM cooked due to special request from blubster so that French people would enjoy a cooked ROM also.

This is the same build as dancer_69's first post, but it is in 040C French France with all of original Iolite's OEMs (also in 040C French France), not the HTC Mega ones.
This is basically your Iolite ROM with just an updated OS to WM 6.5.

Since I cook the ROM myself, I changed the bootscreen to one of my authorship with my nick in it and I do not allow you to use it or edit it without my consent. Those who don't like it, can do one of two things - either use another ROM or figure it out by themselves. Complaints or questions regarding that will not be answered politely. Credits go to ME. If you want your name in it, build your own damn ROM.

Inherent Windows Mobile bugs:
1- When you start your device, the Messaging application will start in a weird way. You can tell by seeing an "X" where the Task Manager should be and the Softkeys saying "Messaging" and such. It would appear that the device is frozen. No worries, just click "X". All is good.
2 - "Finger-mouse" not availble for build 23016.
Everything else works like a charm.

Guess that's the last time I'll be cooking a French ROM for anyone.
You can thank that to balthor80, a junior member who joined on July 17th 2009 with ZERO posts voting Reasonable on this ROM.
Everyone is intitled to an opinion, but I went to great lenghts to cook this ROM, manually downloading and replacing files and then a newbie here on the forums rates me Reasonable?
Don't think so.
French didn't even have properly dumped stock or shipped WM 6.1 ROM, much less a cooked WM 6.5 one.
Will not remove download link 'cause this a special request made by PM and I wouldn't want something like that done to myself also without having said anything, so it stays there, but now I have no more plans to cook any other French ROM, thanks to this member.

I tried you rom, but it hangs on boot, on the second "smart mobility" screen (with the red text in the lower right corner of the screen).
I also tried your WM 6.5 CE OS 5.2.23016 WWE 0409 with Mega OEM Packages, and it does work.
I know that, sadly, and because of balthor80, you decided not to continue cooking french rom, but i wanted to let you know that what you cooked unfortunately does not work.
I have dumped my phone, and have all raws. I also have the EXT packages from iolite in french, from another source, if you ever decide to try again, and need them.
I am sorry about how the things turned out... And hope you will think about all the french people that may want to help you build us something amazing, unlike what balthor80 unhelpfully did.

I am uploading right now a nbh from my rom, which restores the phone to 6.1 french (version 1.09.406.4), and also EXT ROM SYS OEM folders.

I was trying to install the previous in english and there allready is one in french.

Can you confirm that this ROM is protected. I've got errors "Xipkernel's DSM not found" when I try to use nbh within Ervius Kitchen ?
More on my attempt :
I'm a newbie in ROM cooking so I've decided to learn and practice it.
I succesfully dump my stock ROM (wm61 20765 / xip 19965 locale 04C FRE) from my device and build my kitchen based on ervius one. Not tried to flash it yet.
My next goal is to port WM65 with OEM package for lolite. It's the reason why I would use billabongstaff as a reference to check and compare.
I've read Sous-Chef's guide and I'm ready to go from base WM6.5 ROM but I'm not sure that those guides provide a full step by step guide for porting WM6.5 with HTC OEM package in FRE locale and for lolite (320x240, 96DPI) device. I don't know how far away I am. Any help/suggestions (except giving up for the moment) ?

T-mobile does not care about devices they sold us. They are not supporting WM5, almost useless in the way they have implemented them in your devices. So we expected no support for WM6. We made it ouselves. Two people in the main team, lot of others providing support, feedback and knowledge. That is called the community. And finally, after lot of problems, we have working Windows Mobile 6, better, more stable and faster thany any previous WM5 ROM.

Vlodeck and me, nocturne.op.15 - we are the main team. We are creating this ROM in our free time, for no wage and with no support from vendors. We are providing this ROM "as is". We do it as good as we can, but you will find bugs. Report them and we will try to fix them in the next ROM or provide help. But we cannot take any responsibilities for it. If you damage your Charmer, do not be angry - you made something bad. We will never release anything that may damage the machine, we will never release something that is not working. It's just your fault - and it was your choice to try it.
Simply take what we provide or leave us alone. Or make your own ROM as you wish - we will be happy if you will find our rom to be good enough for your cooking.
HISTORY and FUTURE
We were not the first who released WM6 ROM for Charmer. chinese xBeta was the first. We are sorry that we cannot provide full credits of chinese stuff, but we do not understand even a word on their pages But our WWE rom was built primary on the chinese one. Vlodeck had enough patience that he started to translate CHS rom to WWE using Altavista Babelfish. We have discovered soon that it wasn't the right way.
Now, the ROM is working. Based partialy from Wizard, partialy on Prophet WM6 WWE roms, mixed up with chinese xBeta parts - it works. We have changed the main source ROM completely few times - that's why there are also major differences between versions. Different sources are bringing different problems. But we are strictly focused on performance and stability - on fast and stable ROM, you can easily build your own custom ROMs, filled with junk as you wish.
That's also reply for questions "will your rom include...blah blah" - no, it will never include any 3rd party product. We are not able to control every dll of sources, but we will try to keep this ROM maximaly clean and fast. Performance tweaks will be included, but only tweaks that may not harm any part of system. We will make everything possible to allow all 3rd party products work without restrictions - so no hardcore system tweaks.

To upgrade rom just extract rar and run RUU. It would be nice if you had your charmer cid-unlocked but I think it will work on locked devices as well. This method does not work on Vista. If you have it, proceed with ANOTHER FLASH METHOD.

ANOTHER FLASH METHOD :
If you have the chinese WM6 rom, downgrade to some WM5 with official RUU, then:
download this:

Once you unpack it, please put the nk.nbf (charmer wm6) into the Shelltool folder. Open shelltool.exe. Click Get Rom info, then click Extract OS. Wait until its finished and you'll receive a file called 8004000-OS.nb (save it for later).
Download the xbeta Chinese WM6 rom : http://rapidshare.com/files/27671349/2007-03-26_Charmer_WM6_CHS_OS_msyh__plus_consam_xBeta.exe.html
Extract it and put that 8004000.OS you saved before in the XBETA directory. In the itsutils folder of xbeta rom you will find enablerapi.cab and cert_spcs.cab. Copy them to your device, install them on Device Memory, then soft reset.
run xbeta.cmd and choose the 8004000OS.nb file to flash (you should be connected with AS and have your radio module turned off).
When the screen goes green and the flashing is finished make a HARD RESET!. Press Camera and Voice Dail buttons (hold them). Put and hold the stylus in reset button for 2 seconds. Release it. Wait until you see some white fonts on black screen. Then release those 2 buttons. Push the green dial button.

nice work. tho a few things ive noticed, the buttons control panel contains settings to map 6 buttons (5 plus 1 to hold) when it should only contain 5 (4 plus 1 to hold) and the actual buttons on the phone, contacts and calender are set to start and ok, also are unmappable using the cpl. also youve left in the wireless lan cpl, when the charmer doesnt have wifi!
I know I have, what's the point in deleting wifi icons? More work and how is it supposed to make the rom better?

you have to extract the nb file from the nbf and use for example awizard to flash the rom.

Although, the T-mobile customisations that I used to get on hard resetting the previous ROM, they still start, and the keyboard still looks yukky, no colours, just plain white with black text, will try to change with the keyboard enhancement provided in the first thread.

So far everything has worked like the original rom with the addition of Windows Mobile 6.1 and its new additions. If you find errors related to the port please update this thread with your findings. Since I only have a 20 Key Niki100, I could only test the functionality and problems on this device type. mskovrinskie has tested on his 16 key Niki and reports it works fine. barncourt tested on his Niki200 and says his works also. I am Looking for NIKI300 testers, see 2nd post for details.

I recommend that only experienced users try my rom at their own expense. This is my first Rom porting attemp, and I may not be able to help you if you get stuck. You have to zoom out to get the look that I did, and also depends on the viewing mode that you are in. By default it will not look like this. To get it to look like above Browse to www.XDA-developers.com on your device to compare to above image then do the following
set viewing mode to "Fit to Desktop"
zoom level set to "Smallest"
Then click "Zoom Out"
P.S. It has to finish loading before you can zoom out - This is the down fall of Pocket Internet Explorer.

I have not slept in 3 days trying to learn how to cook and port and all the constant flashing and testing. Now I have a working phone again so I may take a breather and enjoy the benifits. I will be around though for questions and feedback.

It would be nice to know what hotfixes/changes these newer builds bring.
I would hate to move from one older stable OS to another that may have issues just because of the build number. TomCodon suggested a Neon Rom with a newer build a few post back, He is way more expereinced with cooking and may know some good reasons why to update the build.
I would like to wait to see how everone likes this ROM, what issues may come up, and also find out what the benificial/degrading differences are in the Windows CE kernel before attempting another port. Sometimes these builds can bring unwanted experiences like battery drain or other qwerky issues.
If anybody knows where I can find this information, please point me in the right direction. -Thanks-

Hey shortyboy,
again thanks for the dump and confirmation on the Device type.
This rom unfortunately will only work on a Niki100
and I think if you did flash it would work but you would get simular results as to what happened when I straight flashed your Neon300 ROM to my Niki100 device. I had to port over the rom to get it to work. Here is my post on what went wrong:

but the good news is seth2006 he has developed a Neon200 rom based off of your device. I beleive the Neon300 can us the same rom. I would make sure in his thread listed below before flashing.

3. - Free space increased in about 10Mb - you now have about 310Mb after installation complete;

In my case, the "games" folder is located inside the "programs" folder, does it matter?

Maybe a solution:
Try this one, it is from 20765 (it works)
I think, the other mui´s works with it. I was compared it with the mui from 21854 - the same content.

Thanks for this great ROM. I'm just playing around with it for an hour or so, but wondered if it's possible that the task manager is not working on the home screen? When I go through the Start Menu to the task manager I can see the tasks running, however when I want to get the pull down menu on the home screen, it doesn't show up. The 8 October ROM did work, the new one I can't get to work. Is this a bug or am I overlooking something? Using the English ROM by the way!
Anyway, it's only a small problem, otherwise the ROM works great! Thanks!

How to Flash your Acer NeoTouch s200
- Download any of my roms
- Extract "my roms.rar' where-ever you choose(I prefer the Desktop)
- Navigate to '(wherever you extracted "my roms".RAR)'
- Double Click on 'ACER_EUU.exe'
- Click 'Next'
- Click 'Continue'
- Click 'Yes'
- Click 'OK'
- Completely power off your phone
- Once phone is powered off hold down the 'Camera' Button and press the reset button on the right side of your device until LED indicator starts blinking red.
-Connect it to your computer
- Now follow the onscreen promts instructions(sometimes they pop up sometimes they don't)
- Wait until 'ACER_EUU.exe' says 'Finished'(It should take 15-25 minutes)
- Once it is done flashing, hold 'Power' button on phone until it vibrates, enjoy the new life withing your Acer s200

I have a suggestion to make.
I suggest that, if it isn’t too difficult to make, in every language ROMS you make, you also make a cab with the IME engine for that particular language, and a separate cab with the Ezinput for that language too.
With these two files you will give the opportunity to every vanilla fan (or even every non-HTC WVGA device out there) to use the EZinput keyboard.
The separate IME engine cab will be very useful to those who would like to use the very popular FingerKeyboard, which uses the HTC IME engine if it is available.
I have no idea if this proves something very difficult to do, or if it is something relatively easy, but I can imagine that it will be proved quite useful to a lot of people.
When and if you release a Greek language version, you will obviously help me and tsourisg in using the Greek Ezinput. As you already know, we have struggled with it in the other S-200 thread (Rafyvitto_Acer_s200_LEO_BlacK_NeO_v.2.7 Latest OEM drivers 2.004).

None of these roms are in english there all in difrent language, the first one released is in spanish, the second one that im releasing today is in french, the other will come in the following days.

Well greek language will be a tricky one, i dint see an acer greek rom for the acer s200 on acer mobile website, or maybe im blind do you have a link for it? about the greek ezinput il see what i can find.

No, you' re vision is perfectly right my friend! Didn’t know you were using ACER ROMs for the various languages! I thought you were using HTC ROMs on top of ACER drivers.
In this case, what I propose in my previous message is probably not easy to do.
Any way, thank you for your kind offer, but I believe it is not really necessary to provide us with Greek Ezinput files, because we have found a workaround, although it is not perfect!

Sometimes I think the Topaz is not made for WM6.5. Everything seems to be slow with the cooked and official ROMs.
Well, here is a try.

Few apps taken from official WM6.5 2.53 ROMs to get HTC Sense running.
There are 3 ROMs right now.
Full => All applications delivered with original ROM are included.
Light => Removed FM Radio, Office, MP3Trimmer, RemoteDesktop, ...
Ookii => like light ROM, but with Japanese font and input support
If none of these version match for your need, well then you have to download the attached kitchen and include into the ROM what you need.
I have included working projects, so you can check which files are basically necessary to get the thing boot and run.
Known Bugs:
[25.04] finally solved connection issues. Step back to 21042 build solved the problems.
[24.04] removed Softbank internet connections from the Full and Light ROM. Hope this fix the issue with Activesync and connection problems.
[23.04]Thanks to the feedback from Lapy and Komsa I fixed the issue with the WM Settings and the internet connection. Should work now.
Fixed Opera browser input problems.
Hope some people love this.
Work to use HTC Sense 2.5 started, but I am to give up. Current status is that WM boots, but HTC Sense 2.5 hangs in starting, no Home screen showing up.

Should be possible with the kitchen. You can dump the official french ROM so you get SYS, OEM and EXT in French. Then search the french versions of the files in the folders XXX-WM65 and XXX-MyManila_2_1, mix all together and cook it. You can see in my kitchen which files you need to replace to get Manila 2.1 running.

you're my hero. Today i was just wondering how would it be to put a 6.1 rom on my topaz, since i've always had the wm6.5
PS Can you please tell me if there is an easy way to add japanese support (also only font support) to a rom?

I will add japanese support, have it on my own builds all the time.
Do you need fonts only or input as well? Can add as well the connection settings for Softbank Japan if needed.

Anyway, the ROM is a bit screwed in my topaz, the slider is big and black, and the 3G connection works in Opera only.
I found also that you didn't change the registry key:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\Manila] "IsWM6.5"=dword:0
That's why the settings link doesn't work. It shoud be in the manila core package reg.

Strange I didn't see the slider problem on my Topaz when I tested it.
And the 3G connection did work without problems for email and Opera, but I will check this again.
For the Japanese, I use the one from Ookii.org, but I will try to get the keyboard from this thread working.
Did you try HardReset after flashing?

very good job BeeGee......i made rom from your kitchen....till now it works excellent.....slider is ok on my topaz.....i will continue testing it.....

changing the registry key to 0 it worked for me.

Yes i did hard reset right after i flashed the rom.
PS I downloaded you kitchen and found that the reg is still "isWM6.5 - DWORD:1" in EXT\Topaz\COMMON\XXX-WM65\Manila_Settings_2_5_20121232_0\app.reg
....everything working fine only the youtube player has connection error(from the opera link) i can't manage to work...........BeeGee any ideas?

I messed up the kitchen, have to clean up first then I will check for this. I guess its a bad link or a mistake in the registry. One of the glitches I expected when putting manila 2.1 on a WM6.1 ROM. I am not sure if I cooked in YouTube packages, that might be the reason.

WM settings button and connection problem fixed (at least I hope so)

hi beegee! appreciate your work, your rom is fast and stable. the only thing that is not right is the melange between english and japanese language here and there (months in calendar for instance). but, typing the url in opera is when it start to get real dirty. every few characters it converts them into japanese idioms, could notget anywhere with that.
.....BeeGee second kitchen is better indeed.....youtube player is working,screen is somehow more responsible....i don't have problems with japanese fonts because i didn't cook them in.......ROM is stable and fastest then anything before ....you left the pagepool on 6 and that is the only thing i changed to 18......fantastic job,thanks again

For the months in the calender I have to change some Manila files. I will do this for the next update. For the Opera problem I have to check. Which keyboard did you cook in? The one from Ookii or the Japanese IME? I use the Ookii input system and have no problems.
