Is it possible to lock/protect my messages/contacts, but not the phone? - Hero, G2 Touch Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So basically, anyone can use the phone, but if they try and view the contacts/messages they need to enter a password or do the code lock thing.
Preferably without having to root my phone and install some custom ROM, but if it's the only option and simple to do I might.
Thanks

Unlocking Samsung device

Hi,
I am in fatal situation, where I set temporarily random pattern for lock screen and now I cannot unlock the phone.
The device is Samsung Galaxy S5 Neo, with android 6.0. I cannot factory reset it at all cost.
I tried everything but I have found one solution that I am unable to test, because of errors. Here are my questions:
1. Can I unlock the phone using aromafm? I do not have custom recovery, so there is a message about unsigned zip. I even signed it using sign-app but there is another error about "whole file verification" or something similar and it doesn't start.
2. Can I install custom recovery without unlocking my phone? Do I have to root my phone? If yes, can I root it without unlocking?
3. Debug is disabled, but if I could enable it somehow, then it could work. Is there any method? Like bypass lock screen and turn it on, or anything else...
4. Unlocking phone is as simple as removing one file from the device (gestures.key). But I am unable to do it. Let's say I have access to the phone files, but I cannot delete this file, because of SecurityException. If I root my phone, will I magically gain the permission?
5. Samsung find device is sadly not configured. Can I configure it without unlocking the device?
Thank you for your support.
Regards.

Is it possible to bypass the pin code on a phone without fastboot unlock or developer mode enabled?

I am working on a phone for someone that had a heart attack and as a result has forgotten his pin code on his phone. I know I can factory reset but I'm trying to find a way to get back into the phone to recover all his data. I can get into download mode so I was wondering if there is any kind of firmware hack that can be installed in order to just ignore pin altogether. I don't think the data is encrypted. We have been able to recover his gmail account but the lock screen never shows a "forgot your pin?" I tried using find my phone but it says it can locate the phone but that find my phone isn't running. Any help would be really appreciated.

As far as I know, even with those enabled you can't bypass login pin code. If that was the case, you could take anyone's phone, factory reset it, and use it.
? I thought that was kinda the whole point of the existence of XDA. I've already found that Dr. Fone can factory reset and take over a phone. There must be something that can be done in download mode.

Amazon Sprint version

Hi All,
Purchased what was advertised as a G8X unlocked for ATT, turns out its Sprint, and is Google FRP locked to a previous user. I try to do a factory reset and it says cannot unmount system partition at /mnt/system and say can't open /cache/recovery/log: Permission denied.
The phone is physically super clean, seems unused even. Any way to get past the Google FRP lock, or use any of the choices from the Android Recovery menu to update from SD card, for instance. I'm going to use it on a MVNO, such as Mint or Red Pcoket or H2O or something, so I have some flexibility there. I just don';t want to have to do a return if there is an easy way to get it to either load a new ROM or whatever.
I've used ADB some years ago , but would need to read a full guide, as I don't remember anything. I run linux on my PC's at home, have for years, so the file system seems familiar, etc.
Let me know if there is a super easy way to 1. Remove Google FRP lock or 2. Load a new ROM /Root this thing to get past the FRP lock and be able to use this phone without sending it back.
Thanks in advance.
You can try using the FireHose hack in order to unlock the bootloader, flash TWRP, and replace the various partitions with clean ones. Not sure how effective this would be, but give it a try.
