Um..I don't think it would since the g1 hardware seems to have no way of having screen output with the current hardware in the Dreams(saw on a conifdential pdf, find it yourself.)

Well the link you posted doesn't have the item. I doubt it would work since the myTouch doesn't support TV. I don't think Android supports TV out either.

To owners: do you have TV-Out via 3.5mm jack ? (not MHL)

The title says it all:
Does the new I9100 Galaxy S2 have analogic TV-Out, via 3.5 jack ? Apart from MHL.
My I9000 Galaxy S has, and it works well with a Nokia CA-75U cable.
On gsmarena they only mention TV-out (via MHL A/V link) (and i'm not even sure what that means - a HDMI-out ?). Anyway, all i want is to connect the phone to a TV that only has RCA or SCART inputs.
Thank you.
I have report from an owner who is reliable that his Nokia 3.5mm TV Out cable is not working with the SGSII. I can confirm this tomorrow when I get my phone also.
If I'm not mistaken TV out is only supported via the miniUSB plug to a HDMI socket, with a 1080p maximum resolution. The cable doesn't come supplied with the phone though.
not working with the cable from my old n95. SGS1 did support this. Might be due to the cable being half broken, but I think it just doesn't support it.
I was hoping both methods were simultaneously available, like with Nokia N8.
Just to confirm does not work for me either (on the plus side my cheap Ebay USB OTG cable does work).
Damn. So it's either HDMI out (when they get around to releasing the adapter...) or nothing?
For full mirroring, yes. There is the option to share media via DLNA of course, but I suspect that like me you really need mirroring...

Is mirroring via MHL confirmed?
I have not seen a single video or post confirming this.
You're quite right, mirroring isn't confirmed.
OMG!bad news,s2 cant tvout via 3.5 jack to my old tv!
This way, they sort of make us buy a new HD tv with digital inputs...

I think that it is also representative of the new technology. Honestly, I think RCA connectors are outdated and doesn't really make sense.
RCA uses analog, and most TVs now-a-days are digital. Almost no technology runs on analog anymore, so for phones like Nokia to output RCA, it has to have a chip inside to convert from Digital to an Analog output... Then when it reaches your TV, if it is a digital tv, then it has to convert the analog back to digital. At this point - not only is the resolution decreased, but the signal starts to artifact from converting from digital -> analog -> digital again.
I guess this means that people have to upgrade from their CRT/legacy LCD tvs that only accept RCA/AV inputs.
And for the even older CRT TVs, too bad for them because there's no support for coaxial out.
Now that would be cool -- a coaxial out cable for old TVs, in case we ever discover time travel, and want to show the future to people from the 80s on a nice big 19" color CRT TV.

Just some warning - I'm not sure if that will work since it's not an MHL USB-HDMI cable.
If it works at all, it won't be able to charge your phone and display HDMI at the same time because of the way it's designed.
If you don't want to buy the real cable, I saw a generic version here:
http://www.expansys-usa.com/expansys-mhl-to-hdmi-adapter-black-218572/
If you wait another month (I believe June is the month that the supply is supposedly being produced), I think China will have some copies made soon. For complete functionality and compatibility, make sure the cable meets and complies with MHL standards.

HML tv-out adapter for sgs2. $78 on ebay.
The official Samsung HDMI adapter doesn't look to be out for quite a while yet but there's one by BizLite over at Mobile Fun that should be in over the next fortnight (website says 9-14 days)
Cheaper than the official one too. Agreed that it's quite annoying having no TV-out on the 3.5mm jack!
There is maybe a hope.
Exynos 4210 supports composite output. If SGS2 has connected jack 3.5 to Exynos Composite Video Output soldered, there is a hope.
Hi all I need composite video out to connect phone to car video system - so it`s my only hope to get it from 3.5 jack somehow... or is it possible to convert hdmi to composite or component?

I have HDMI Connection TV....I think all I need is HDMI-HDMI cable..How much will it be? and will there be different types of HDMI-HDMI cable or all will be same?
A cheap calbe is all you need. Don't be fooled by some sales person trying to flog you an expensive gold plated cable. The signal is digital, either the tv gets a perfect signal or it gets nothing. So a cheap cable is all you need.
If it were an analogue signal, then high quality cables are required for high end equipment.
if you would like use it for watching video or playing game on old TV doesn’t have HDMI port. Thanks to it supports most of video formats(Samsung Galaxy S supporting video/Audio formats), you can enjoy video on larger screen in right a way.it has a TV feature as Omnia II does. While it is not HDMI like Evo 4G, it is decent feature.

[Q] HDMI Adapter in Box?

Did anyone receive the HDMI adapter in the box for the AT&T Galaxy S II ? I read that it should be included but did not receive it.
Nope. Not in the AT&T box
10 char xxxx
Nope. It doesn't come with AT&T version. AT&T version, all you get is the phone, battery, ac charger, usb cable, $25 media hub (tv shows only), manuals.
The infuse comes with one. The galaxy doesn't included one.

So a MiniUSB (or microUSB, whatever is ours) --> HDMI cable works from the phone?
only if your tv has MHL built into it

curoius, do most newer tv's have MHL built in? or probably not?
all i can find when i type my tv's model number and MHL into google is.. my tv with some hockey info (NHL) hehe..
google is too smart for its own good sometimes.
Based upon what I've seen, you need a MHL adapter for the phone. Its just a little box that plugs into USB, and had a USB port on it for power input and an HDMI port. There's cheap out there, like this one.
I have an MHL adapter and it does work but you need to plug the power into the thing in order for it to do anything. My receiver has usb and hdmi on the front so that works for me. It would be nice to have 1 cable, but this works.
Unfortunately I believe that's the case with any MHL device. There's a chip inside that box that transcribes the MHL signal (coming over the 5 pin USB connector) to a full HDMI signal, and it requires power. It's not all that bad though, as you would probably want to be charging your phone while playing a video anyways.
Exactly it is nice it does have power. Unlike the ipad to vga dongle lol.
Eventually most of the high end TVs will have the MHL. You will still need the adapter but you will not need to power it. The TV will not only power your phone but charge it.
I pocketed the HDMI MHL adapter from my infuse when I returned it under the 30 day ATT trial... The screen was pixelated in my infuse in the top left hand corner so they were more concerned with my device being defective than me just not liking it and only asked me if the charger was in the box.
Honestly, who actually hooks their phone to their tv? I never have.

The treadmills at my gym have lcd 's on them, I hook up my phone to it every single day and watch videos while exercising.
I wonder if anyone can report on this:

USB->HDMI adapter for SGS2?
I'm inclined to give it try...
The above link is for connecting a USB device, such as a thumb drive or keyboard to a mini USB device. Useful for us? yes. Useful for hdmi output? No.

MHL Adapter great video but no audio *

I bought a MHL adapter on Amazon and it works pretty good. That is for video only. The audio on the phone cuts out and transfers to the tv, but it only lasts for 1-2 seconds, then the audio cuts out all together.
Any ideas?

Virgin Mobile EVO V 4G MHL to DVI

Hi...sorry if this is the wrong place, but from my understanding they are the same phone and I didn't see any category specifically for the evo v...
At any rate, so I bought an ikross mhl to dvi adapter, hoping to connect my phone to an 18" LCD I have, but so far no luck with any of 3 monitors. I've connected the phone to a wall charger and tried hooking it up in different orders, to no avail...basically have followed every suggestion I can find.
I've now purchased an mhl to hdmi adapter from newegg for my TV and hopefully will at least verify the general functionality is working (when it arrives on the Monday following this post), but eventually would prefer it on the monitor. I also bought an HDMI to DVI adapter, just as a long shot.
I scoured google before I bought the adapter and every indication seemed like it should work fine, and now have scoured google + these forums again, but just not really finding much info related to my specific hardware.
The phone is rooted, running the latest Harmonia rom and is S-ON...I don't think that would affect it, as everything else on the phone so far has worked flawlessly, however, can't rule it out. There is a guide floating around on how to "turn the evo v into a evo 3d", so if this is rom-related, it's something to try? Requires going S-OFF, but even if it didn't fix anything, at least I'd get the radio updates. But again, from my understanding, the hardware is identical and this phone should be able to do standard mhl, so i assumed mhl to dvi should work as well, but I'm a little unsure about the standards...
Any insight is greatly appreciated and as I always do, if I find a solution, I will post
Still a no-go with an MHL to HDMI adapter, connected to my TV. The closest I came, was the phone went into dock mode if I didn't have the charger connected. Oh and if I unplugged the HDMI cable from the adapter, the TV would say check cable...So the TV was aware that a device was connected, thus it seems the issue lies in the phone.
Anybody have any idea what I could be missing? This /should/ work - the Virgin Mobile site even lists hdmi output as a feature of this phone, but no further mention in the manual and as I said in the OP, spotty info around the web
UPDATE: Just tried it with a monitor again, using an HDMI to DVI adapter, with the new MHL to HDMI adapter, and it almost wants to work - the monitor stays awake (not saying "no signal") and the phone registers that it's connected via hdmi, but the most picture I can get on the screen is but a flash when I change the phone's orientation =/
A second hdmi mhl adapter that I had ordered arrived today (was not expecting it for a month or I wouldn't have bought the other one...oops) and it works on the tv w/ full mirroring
Still a no-go on the monitor - it does the same as the other adapter. The phone and monitor both know it's connected, but only occasionally flashes of video appear and rather than any mirroring, the phone just says "play a video or slideshow" (which does not work).
So I guess the moral of the story: if you have an HTC EVO V 4G from Virgin Mobile (which is more or less the same phone as the EVO 3D) and you want to hook it up to a computer monitor: good luck! I mean, I'll test some more with other monitors on this new adapter but not getting my hopes up. Will post any positive findings, tho...
On the other hand, if you want to hook it up to a TV, it's just a matter of finding the right adapter...in my case, it was pretty much luck of the draw. One worked; the other did not. Maybe the other one will magically start working or will work with one of the new TVs I bought, but we'll see...
Anyway, here is the specific adapter that is working for me: not allowed to post links. Sorry! You all lose. Thank you spammers.
you also need to be on jellybean, or higher for the hdmi to work I do believe, otherwise the phone os if below doesnt recognize or work for hdmi out. the jellybean update made it so anyphone with micro usb out should be able to connect to hdmi with the mhl adapter.
I think its simply a matter of analog vs digital video signal. A computer monitor will need a digital video signal but a TV will be happy with either analog or digital. And I'd guess the output of the MHL adapter is analog.
