I love my touchpad with Android. I have tried the CM7.1, CM9 and the classicnerd builds. They are awesome and offer great advantages.
But I have a big problem in terms of stand-by time.
My touchpad offers only 3-5 days stand-by. That is way to much stand-by-drain, because I don't use or recharge it daily. But everytime I want to use it and travel around with it and so on, the battery is nearly completely drained out.
Do you have some tips for me, how I can economize my battery usage in stand-by? Web OS delivered a way better stand-by time for me.
Have you set wifi to turn off when it's sleeping?
Mine lasts me 5 days.
I have a profile in setcpu that minimizes the CPU when the screen is off. But I just got my touch pad a few hours ago so I can't really comment on long term battery life.

The BEST way would be to boot into webos when you want to leave it in stand-by. You'll get the best battery life that way.
3-5 days of standby in Android is very good actually. As stated above, turning off wifi is the biggest battery saver.
wi fi auschalten immer gut und ansonsten hab ich setcpu installiert und mirn paar profile erstellt wie das der cpu aufs minimum getaktet wird wenn das touchpad im standby ist oder das mein touchpad zwischen 0 und 6Uhr auch aufs minimum getaktet wird, ansonsten is der tipp mit webos nich schlecht oder einfach ganz ausmachen

I have Easy Battery Saver installed on mine.
It has several pre made profiles you can choose from plus you can create a custom profile to suit your uses like turning WiFi off from XX:XX - XX:XX times, which applications will turn on WiFi and which will not, etc.
Probably a few dozen apps of the same caliber but I find this one easy to use and does a good job.

Hello i think im gona replace battery , im afraid if battery is bumped cuz one side of cover is a bit opened first owner. So better to replace early then later. Also battery drain fast. I need a recommendation for new battery. Genuine or non genuine any idea have you replaced battery recently comment here.

Some time ago I found on the internet battery test. They were able to check battery capacity and to my suprise the result was, that genuine samsung battery lies on the label. it is around 200mAh less than it says. So instead of 3000mah our battery is only around 2800mah. The best choice according to that test is german battery EXREMECELLS which lies only aroung 60mAh. Anyone has tried those batteries and can share an opinion, maybe thats a better option that genuine one?

I have purchased but im still waiting to arrive cuz of xmas but i dont have tools to measure battery capacity.
But according to them they offer good batteries.

Now if there were a way to fit in a over-sized battery ....that would be a pretty cool mod.
Had a extended battery in my s4 back in the day, but the glued on back cover on the s7 would make a extended battery difficult to install

look on Amazon to see which battery has good review, since most of them are junk generic made buy that one and then watch YouTube video to change it

Hi bro battery is good but i personally i don't see any difference. Because im heavy user, But quality of battery is good.
Get a Nohon battery from AliExpress, I have been using one for the past month and it's still going strong and shows 90+% battery health. Don't forget to reset your cycle counter after replacing the battery as this influences the maximum battery voltage.

Here the same. All batteries that I ordered were fake. They were either only 30g or around 2000mha. Where can I get a good battery?
I can only recommend anyone NOT to buy any batteries from any ordinary internet shop. Especially not in the ones claiming to sett "original Samsung batteries".
When I needed a new battery some weeks ago I searched a bit and finally chose to buy a battery from a German shop named "Premium Akku". I even contacted them and explicitly asked then if the batteries are REAL original Samsung batteries, which they confirmed. So I ordered, and after installing it I noticed right away that the battery percentage already dropped by 4 % between two consecutive restarts. I recharged it, tested it for about a week, but it did not even hold one day and I experienced extrem sudden drops in the battery percentage of up to 40% within seconds (!).
I inspected the battery and at first couldn't tell it was fake, it looked legit. But after looking more closely I noticed some differences, I've posted them in a separate thread in case anyone is interested. After confronting the shop they didn't commented at all one the battery being fake and only offered an exchange, which I declined.
My recommendation is just contact the Samsung support, I did so via the live chat on their website. After only a few minutes I had contact with a service person, whom I explained I'm searching for a replacement battery but like to install it myself. He immediately sent me a company, which I contacted and got my original Samsung battery for 27€ + shipping in only a few days. For Germany the service company is

Is it possible to reset the phone batt_cycle entry?
Reason: after changing the battery I realized that the new one (original Samsung as far as I can tell with man. Date 11/2017) does not perform as expected. The observation is that the battery is not charged to the correct final charging voltage of 4.35V but instead charging is stopped at 4.2875V indicating 100%
This did confuse me - after all that's throwing away with some juice that could still have gone into the battery.
Further investigation shows that the changing of the battery did not reset the batt_cycle to 0 but instead it is counting onwards! Comparing the readings to those of a S7 still with it's original battery but with many cycles shows that the old battery also stops charging at 4.2875V.
I'm suspecting that the voltage is lowered on higher battery cycle to prevent damage coming from overly demanding charging an old battery. But now with the battery changed to a new one a lot of potential is going down the drain....
That's why I'm asking. How can the counter be reset?

Try edit battery_cycle but no luck. Its return old value after reboot
It might be the cycles are stored somewhere else and merely reflected in this file. But somehow it has to be possible to reset it because Samsung service also does it after changing the battery...

There is this code *#9900# that brings a menu and there is an option called "BATTERYSTATS RESET" at the bottom, however i tried this and did not deleted discharge cycle number, so i guess there is other code for that.

1. Bitte nicht den Wert zurücksetzen wenn ihr den Akku nicht getauscht habe. Wir wissen nicht wie sich ein alter Akku verhält der wieder ganz voll geladen wird
2. Wichtig!! Macht mit TWRP ein Backup der EFS Partition bevor ich anfangt etwas zu ändern.

I did this and it worked first time
I set my battery cycles to 10000(100cycles) but it set itself to 119
I tried lowering the number again but cycle count in phone info app didnt change no matter what i did
Premissions are 640 (rw-r----)
I dont know why it doesnt work
How did you replace the phone battery?

A lower battery voltage would also extend the battery life span of a young battery, but let's be honest:

Just faced same prob as OP, went echo "100" > /efs/FactoryApp/batt_discharge_level on it, file was 12345 (or something like that), after reset when cat checkin the file had two lines in it. Just deleted it. Let's see what happens.
At least it got recreated by the system.
"1" is all system had to say about it. No 0's. Plus he says permissions are 600.
Battery went from 95% to 63% in about 20minutes.
ThunderTweaks was stating 56% battery health beforehand on new original battery.
Id say it worked.
But you can never be too sure.
on BlackDiamondN8 5.1 and ThunderStorm kernel 2.3

Use this stuff: Mannol 9911: Neutral Silicone.

Get one, like 10e ebay.
Get a litter bottle of beer filled with water to 90%, put a minimal (like 1mm wide line around) of this stuff on the top part of the bottle (you know where you drink from, whatever the word is), then stamp a credit card on it and press until you think its spread so fine that it will be impossible for **** to hold.
Wait 24-48h.
Thrash the bottle around.
By not holding the bottle, but the credit card. You'll quickly understand what i mean.
This stuff is waterproof, neutral, flexible, and strong as f* nails, all at the same time.
Then thank me
Promoted to glue hall of fame in about 30 seconds. Right after Araldite and Black fiber tape.
It will make your **** waterproof.

Just use B7000, it's made for exactly these kinds of phone repairs. Holds tight, flexible, but easy to remove with heat if needed for future repairs.
I used a combination 2mm foam tape and B7000 glue and my S7 is waterproof according to pressure tests.

Will definitely try that next time. I did see the B7000 while searching for glue, but I just opted for Mannol as its likely better for waterproofing, and I don't mind replacing the back glass every two years or so when I replace batteries.

Hi,
I got root, I went to - Root/efs/factoryapp/batt_discharge_level as mentioned above.
Then I deleted the 77662 value I had in there,
Then I put zero 0 and saved, then reboot the phone.
After rebooting it, the phone changed the value from 0 to 8,
On the battery level indicator I had 100% before all that operations- and during the cycle count resetting process it went down to 93 or so. So now I am charging it for some time and it says battery 100% on the screen but the LED is still red - indicating it is going into higher states of charge, hopefully. Then I am going to perform battery calibration in Root Essentials App and let's see.
Fingers crossed it works )
Also I have checked my S20 and it looks like the battery charge cycle count is in the same place as in S7 so if all goes well with S7 I am going to do the business with S20 too
Update: Phone INFO+ for Samsung App shows Battery Discharge Cycles: 1
Droid Info: Battery Voltage over 4.2V but is not consistent, each time you open app it tells slightly different.

AccuBattery tells me I only have 75% battery left. So I bought a new battery, replaced it. And the capacity was exactly the same. The battery was only charged to 4.18V max.
This worked for my Galaxy S10+.
- Back up your device with Samsung's "Smart Switch" Windows app
- Root your phone with these tutorials:
- Install Ghost commander, enable root access in it
- Go to /efs/FactoryApp/ and copy the batt_discharge_level file to your storage
- Edit the file and put the number 100 there (that means 1 battery cycle, you can change it to a bigger number if you have older battery)
- Copy the file back to /efs/FactoryApp/ replacing original one
- Change the owner of this file back to "system" and the group "log"
- Dial code *#9900# and reset the battery information there
- Reboot the phone (it should now charge at 4.35V)
- Unroot device by flashing original AP file, relock bootloader, disable OEM unlock
- Restore data with Smart Switch

have you tried simply changing the file batt_discharge_level?
It provides nothing!
Maybe when we change the owner and add the 'log' group - there is a real solution
I tried everything in s10e. The result was 0 cycles but without improvement in battery capacitance
so maybe your new battery is not ok?
Will try that solution , just ordered a "new" s10e for testing
I'm sure that simply editing batt_discharge_level works up to Android 10 (so s9 is the maximum model). On Android 11 there is no additional capacitance of battery , there is only cycle resetting at all

you only need to reset these.
what is the battery voltage in AccuBattery, when the battery is fully charged?
100% = 4,335 If I remember or 4,35V
but on usb meter (ruideng manufacturer) there was the same capacitance before and after resetting
I tested it on 6 pcs of devices (s10e) and 3 types of batteries
I will post on Wednesday about my attempt with the latest methods by frogale

As battery life is an important issue for me, I would be very interested to know which additional battery drain is to be expected from a connected smartwatch on the Mate 20 pro.

Yes, I promise you that the phone has a significant and alarming drain when connected to the watch. This is even after shutting down some of the handshakes manually. You could always wear the watch and just toggle bluetooth to get around this, but... That would kind of defeat the purpose of notifications to the watch entirely. I was quite shocked at the battery drain when using the watch for the one day that I did.

Hey, I have the same issues as you. At first I thought of buying a phone radiator cooler for $15 to use it, but I found a better alternative: I just use a lower watt charger if I'm not in need of the 65W charging. I use a 10W charger, since it gets spread as 5W + 5W, the healthy wattage when charging, and the temperature only goes up to 37°C. Of course, when you need the 65W, use it. If you don't, just use 10W which you can do by just using a different cable on the 65W charging brick.
