Using Bluetooth Headset - DOES NOT WORK!!! - Hero, G2 Touch Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

i was going to buy an bluetooth headset for my htc hero, but before i just wanted to test, whether the bluetooth would work properly. the common datasheets you can find on the internet say that hero supports the bt profile "Headset" so this shouldnt be a problem.
to test the bluetooth-headset-function of my hero, i wanted to use my computer (which has a bt dongle) as the headset. i've done that already before with my nokia n80 and there it worked fine, which means i paired both devices (pc and nokia) and then started the bt service "headset" for the connected phone on my computer. now, that im using htc hero, windows just tells me, that the paired device (hero) has only the active sync service to start (see screenshot).. any idea, what to do?
thx in advance!

common guys.. nobody knows something about this?

Can't help with your specific issue, but my Hero pairs fine with the my Parrot car kit and uses the headset profile.

Dave

[Q] Want to see the battery level of the bluetooth headset, any app ?

Hello,
Any application exists to show battery level of the bluetooth headset that is connected to Android device as dummy iphone does ? If not - where to find more info about this problem so some solution can be made under Linux first, than ported to Android ?
TIA
Rus
I'm also very interrested in such an app/widget
me too. I have a Plantronics 855 that lasts a long time, but it'd be cool to see the info on the phone.

Does it depend on the type of the Bluetooth headset?
Does it have to support showing battery level on the device?
Been looking for an answer to this question for quite some time. Anyone know what the apple app that does this is called?
I have also been looking for this kind of functionality. It's strange, my old sony-ericsson dumphone had this...
Anyway, please if someone knows of an app that can do this, feel free to share!
When my battery gets low on my Motorola Elite Sliver, I get a warning in the notification window. When I click on it the "Accessory Battery Status" screen opens. I think this is what you are wanting right? I would like to know how to get to it anytime, not just when the battery is low. At the top left there is a green phone icon, so I thought I could access it from the settings menu in the phone app, but I can't find it. I also checked the bluetooth settings, but can't find it there either. I am running the latest ICS leak on my Razr Maxx.

[Q] ICS Audio Streaming to Laptop

Hey guys,
So I always used to stream my audio from my SGS2 to my laptop, and I kind of miss it now that I've moved onto ICS. I recently tried moving back to a GB rom to see if it was infact the phone causing the issues , and that seems to be the case.
When I pair my laptop to my SGS2 with GB installed, it installs all of the bluetooth drivers necessary for streaming.
However, when I pair with an ICS ROM, it installs nothing. I can still do file transfers, but no audio connection whatsoever.
Could this be a problem with the bluetooth stack or ICS drivers?
Has anyone got media streaming from ICS -> Windows 7 working?
I have included some pictures to indicate the difference.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Has anyone else run into this problem, or am I the only one that likes streaming audio from android to windows 7?
That maybe because ics does not come with bluetooth rsap (remote sim access profile). I guess streaming audio also comes under it

Same Here!!
I'm having a similar problem with my G2X. I can't stream bluetooth music nor can I transfer files. I'm looking for some drivers for this cause I normally download music to my laptop then transfer stuff to my phone. I have Hellfire Sandwich 1.6 and running Windows 7 on my PC.

Bluetooth support for TV boxes without BT chip?

I successfully tested several different ROM's on my X96 that on their original hardware would support BT.
Usually the combined WiFI/Bt chips that we find on the S912 boxes and some weird S905 ones.
Since my box does not have any BT capabilities through the hardware I was wondering what would be involved to find a BT stick that actually works on Android and to implement that into a firmware with support for a different BT chip.
I am quite new to the rom cooking stuff and still can't my head around linux thanks to growing up with Windows.
But my thought were somehow like this:
Take a firmware with BT support as a starting point.
Replace the WiFi driver with the match for the box - already done that and works fine.
Do the same with the BT driver - in theory easy too but where to find a driver or the correct libraries to make it work?
All I found so far in terms of poking around in the kernel is that there is nothing for the WiFi or BT in it.
Replace the WiFi folder in the system partition and the stuff just works, well apart from the usual hickups and problems with the framework and ui due to the different hardware.
So in my simple mind I think it should be quite possible to get a BT stick working on our non-BT boxes?
i have buyed a simple Bluetooth Transmitter to connect a Bluetooth Speaker or Headset. Have received for 10€ by Ebay
its just Audio but now i can hear Music in my Garden without cable

How to use the phone mic for calls even when you are connected to a bluetooth headset

Hi guys,
hope there is some expert that can help me here. :fingers-crossed:
I have 2 bluetooth headsets in which their enbedded mic is not working properly, and I would like to answer calls using the phone mic instead, while leaving on the headset for the speaker part.
In one headset simply the quality is very low, because is far from my mouth, in the other is somehow broken, because when I record a whatsapp audio or send an "ok google" command, the phone catch the audio through the phone mic, but when I answer a call, the audio is blank.
Is there a setting somewhere to instruct the phone to always use the phone mic, even when an headset is working as a speaker?

Thanks, in fact that is what I'm doing now. When I select the phone in the dialer, however, it switches the mic but also the speaker.
I have to remove my earpiece/headphones and bring the phone to the ear.
I'm looking for a way to tell the smartphone to use the bluetooth earpiece like a one-way speaker-only earpiece and ignore the mic part.
Maybe works on audio attributes like CALL_CONTEXT and mSource?

Question How to use wireless earphones mics instead of device microphone?

Hello, have purchased the Huawei buds pro yesterday. However, it seems that whenever I do a voice note on WhatsApp or a call on messenger the phone uses built-in microphones which don't allow me to put the phone away while on a phone call how can I make it change the microphone source?
Do your buds have an app for them? If so I would make sure their firmware is utd. Both my Jabra and Pixel buds transfer mic to the buds.

Yes, they do and I updated the firmware but no difference.. I had the pixel buds 2 before these ones and still had the same issue had to return them because I thought the issue was in the buds themselves
Does it work properly in a normal phone call with the buds?
Might be a dumb suggestion, but - when you go into BT settings and select the buds, are the various device options enabled?

Just tested it on a phone call it worked pretty well!
Sounds like there is a bug with those apps handling the input source. I would do the standard clear the app data, reinstall, and if it persists beyond that report it to the dev.
