How to remove Cyanogen Recovery? - Hero, G2 Touch Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there a way to remove the Cyanogen Recovery Console?

I'm quite new to Android myself but from my experience so far i'm sure you can 'replace' it with any recovery image - i went from cyanogens to the RA-hero-v1.2.3
If you're wanting to go back to stock recovery image you need to find the .img file for it then adb the file to your phone to replace the current recovery image. (just follow the process of installing the recovery image you currently have but using the new file)
Unfortunately i'm not sure where you can download the stock image.
Hope this helps!

i think in the ruu installer you can select what you want to overwrite/install. if so, just select recovery and there you go ;-)
the ruu installer can be found somewhere in development forum or on htc.com

There is one here frpm HTC Hero (Orange UK) also you will find nandroid in the shared folder. LINK

Hey Guys,
i want to remove recovery Build RA-hero-v1.6.2a but i have no idea how to ?
I thought with the RUU installer i could do it but it it doesn't work.
It tell me "no usb connexion".
Any help ?
Thanks !!!

To replace it with what?

with the original from HTC

So you're running the RRU file and its giving what error number?

It's error 170.
I think the recovery image block the process.
I'm running windows 7 64 bit, it may be help !

i think it can remove via fastboot .. simply erase it if you know how to use ADB

Run RUU under Windows XP SP3!

You should have looked at BTDAG's signature,...

HTC hero stuck !! Need Help

I have HTC hero (bought in india).
i had updated it 2.1 using OTA updates.
Recently i rooted the devices using one touch and had installed Rom manager to put a recovery image of cynagoenmod recovery image.
and later when i tried to update the lock screen of vanilla using update method of recovery mode i happened to crash my Hero.
I have tried the following to get it working but all have failed.
1. Put the HEROIMG.zip on sdcard and try the HBOOT method. - failed.
2. tried the fastboot method using recovery image but got the no remote found error
3. using RUU RUU_Hero_HTC_WWE_2.73.405.66_WWE_test_signed_NoDriver which says USB connection errror.
now i need some help to get my Hero working. any help would be appreciated..please help me get this working..
Have you got the correct drivers for seeing the device in fastboot?
And same applies for RUU. ruu needs the htc sync drivers iirc
Have you gone back into your recovery and restored the nandroid backup? (which everyone should be making before doing anything to their system)
Assuming you haven't done this - couldn't you just go back into recovery - turn on the usb-ms setting and place a rooted update zip of which ever rom you want onto the sd card and flash that instead. You can even get official ones with root enabled (though i can't remember where I saw them).
Alternatively pulsar's method will also work - get the correct HTC Sync drivers installed (by installing the latest version) and you'll have the right drivers in fastboot mode so the rru should install.
1st thank you for ur response Pulsar and btdag.
My device shows in fastboot.
I have also have HTC sync installed.
but since my phone doesnt boot up i tried using the RUU with the phone in fastboot.
this give me USB connection error.
Then i disabled the firewall of windows 7, still no help.
Please let me know if i am doing anything wrong here..
another point , i had done backup when my phone was going in recovery mode.
but now when i try the home and power key devices stucks on exclamation ! screen which prompted me to go for RUU.
i havent done any goldcard backup as suggested in ur complete step by step guide.
If i put the update.zip on my sdcard i would need to be in recovery mode for installing that rt?
Also to mention the HBOOT mode doesnt recognize any zip...

Have a look here for another rooting method => http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=28178105.
Method 1 only need stock recovery to flash a temporarily CWM recovery.
And in CWM recovery you can flash the CM10 zip file.
No need for an extra PC application (for linux it would be Heimdall and not Odin) ... with this method you can flash everything on the phone itself.
Good luck !

Hi..I have tried to run RUU files of various countries but all the time the operations comes to an end with a "verify signature error"..I have followed the rom.zip creation method and save on the sd card as PK178IMG.zip but in that case the fastboot prompt finds the file and verifies it but then jumps back to the prompt wherein it has the list of options ie hboot..fastboot and all

http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/drivers - Click on O.S.
You'll find your stock system there. Instructions for loading it are included in the zip downloaded. I believe the EMEA Gen1 is for the generic worldwide version, but you might want to verify that. I know that the ORGFr one is for Orange France and the little "s" at the end would signify single SIM versions.
Found this guide to install recovery:
One. Loads Famaroot Just "Framaroot-1.9.1.apk" follow the link here.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?s=e12cbb38af7dd8a173308bb ...
The. Apk to be installed on the Z3 - Z3s / Once installed, it's ordered by phone root app Famaroot.
Two. TWRP 2.4.4.0 files stored on your SD-Card llllllll2510 to post the link here.
https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B0XQigIT17uEcDQtaDJ3U0UtOWc/edit?pli=1
PS. Files Name TWRP24Recovery_Z130_D10-02-14.img.
Do NOT paste it in a folder deep secret I do not find.
Three. Install app "[ROOT] Recovery Tools - Flasher" on the phone to me.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.mkrtchyan.recoverytools
Then, with a flash TWRP 2.4.4.0 [ROOT] Recovery Tools - Flasher by.
Select top (Flash Recovery) and select the top (Other from Storage).
Then browse to the file TWRP24Recovery_Z130_D10-02-14.img. Flash to order
At the end of the process [ROOT] Recovery Tools - Flasher will ask you to reboot into recovery-mode or not.
I answered yes to the reboot to check the flash recovery ... we just finished it.

I found this on a forum that was in a foreign language to me and used Google Translate to get this info. You can find the original thread here:

For returning to stock for warranty issues, just use the original firmware you downloaded from Acer.
Tried the first part flashing the ROM using the provided stock Roms.
That failed it downloads but as soon as first real install occurs it rejects and aborts install access or accept error.
And returns the key part of the file name
I think? No expert at all ? The stock ROM updates do not match the previous ROM on my z30. Do not exactly know the specs of my original ROM proximus.... ??? Would have preferred gen ROM overriding all that stuff?
Or do I need to force adb/ fastboot only to load the system partition.???? But what is the adb/ fastboot command then exactly do I need to expand the zip a second time? After extract zip and instruction PDF?
Will delay cwm tarp after first signs of life of the phone.
Thanks for your answer
sometimes I know.
often I do not know.
Its always good to be able to ask.

Flashing TWRP help!!

I am trying to install TWRP but struggling
The phone is running ANdroid 6. I have unlocked the bootloader successfully.
I am using this link for TWRP, http://forum.xda-developers.com/z5-compact/orig-development/twrp-z5-compact-t3235161
Originally I downloaded the files from the 1st post but upon reboot it was stuck on the white curtain screen.
Upon research I found out that the above guide is for Android 5. This link is for android 6.
Now I have downloaded this new file. My question is do i just flash this new file now?
Or are there any extra steps required? Such as a new boot.img file after flashing the new recovery file?
Flash it if you want?
I've no idea what you mean with "this new file", or "extra steps" (extra compared with what?) so I can't help with that. In general, you just should follow the steps in one of the guides to install TWRP. There're plenty, and most of them have in common that they already explain how you can install them and what you need. Also in general, you don't have to add "extra steps" or leave steps out.
Ok thanks.
I have now got the latest TWRP file, https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24499762636001943
The kernel im using is Latest AndroPlus Kernel V31.
So in bootloader i have fastboot flash recovery recovery.img to install TWRP
Then flashed the latest kernel using fastboot flash boot boot.img
I have rebooted the phone but now it keep booting into recovery, not the system.
Please can someone help?
