COM2 and COM3 share the same base, but after build 23017 the COM3 tree branched off and got the 'new' layout. At this point COM2 remained the active development tree for 6.5 and spawns updates regularly (fixes the current released 6.5 build of Windows Mobile).

COM3 up to build 23088 is the tryout build for the new layout of Windows Mobile (replaces start menu, dropdown taskbar, etc.). This build is very experimental and contains many bugs. It will be around for another couple of weeks when it will probably be terminated and integrated into COM5, but I'll get to that.
Build 28217 - HERE - Windows CE: 5.2 Build 5211 (January 20, 2010. 15:54:15) - Cooked but not flashed, I believe it's ok, if somebody is brave enough

COM 5
COM5 is the branch starting with 235xx, and contains at this point nothing new. It's unknown what the main focus is, but it is likely to replace COM3 and COM4 and integrate all the changes uptill now. This means the other COM trees will die of and become active once the OS get's released (as was the case with COM 2 and COM3)

Correct-me if I'm wrong, but in Data Connection there are 2 areas, one to setup a D.Connection and other area with those small buttons to switch on/off, press that area only and all works ok
About Manilla 2.5, I don't think so, my ideia is only to provide Roms with new buils, asap they "pump in the air", so they will kept basic

Nice to see another Chef. I came from a Raphael and, like you, am working on a good combination of packages and tweaks. RunCC was a pain, but I got it all squared away and loading sdconfig files from the storage card on first boot. PM me if your interested.

Have you tested the gps lag on this rom?.... I dont know what to do with the lag problem......
hi, congrats on your rom, very fast but lol found a bug, the charging icon the today screen does not change its state when you plug-in the charger/usb to the computer.
It seams the only problem that i found for now, the gps lag is still there but i think that the only one capable of fixing it is htc themselves.

Hey, does it include fix for SD card disappearing? I met this issue in case of Fire ROM.
I tried this rom earlier this morning, it seemed ok but for some reason in the "Select your GSM/UTMS band" option on the band tab in phone settings there was only the GSM(900+1800)+UMTS(2100) or Auto options.
Normally there are 4 choices available with this option. I'm wondering if this rom would not work for people who need the 1900+850 bands?
I'm gonna go back to the stock rom for now anyway just in case, because I'm going on holiday soon and might need those bands myself!

What is the biggest difference for you speed - wise as compared to the original ROM , i.e., does it make much difference in that little lagginess for the TouchFlo 3D?
Can I always get back to the original rom ???

Yes, as long as the shipped ROM is available. A number of them can be found at http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Raphael_WM6.1_ROMs
You will not be able to restore the original SPL until the Raphael team have developed a stock SPL downgrade tool. See the first post in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=410150

The TF3D is quicker then stock ROM and with the regular TF3D tweaks it will be a LOT quicker so no lag at all.
Plus the fact that the OS build is newer then stock ROM.

The only issue so far is the battery icon that does not change to charging, and not all network bands are available for selection, I'll update the first post with this info.
In the mean time I am working at my next release but I hit more or less a dead end trying to port another XIP. I have already spend more than 24 hours straight trying to port this but with no luck so far, maybe there is an issue with one of the porting tools? I'll look further into this and keep you posted on my progress. If anyone who reads this was able to successfully port one then please let me know...
I have noticed another issue with this ROM. You cannot select multiple items in messaging (inbox and SMS). This is a huge issue for me, as I receive a lot of email.

I haven't installed this ROM yet but most likely the solution is (in Messaging) to go to Menu / Select Messages and then you have the choice of selecting some or all of them - this is a new 'feature' in some versions of WM6.1
Thanks for your update adp. The stock ROM allowed me to select multiple messages by way of dragging down (or up). This is the feature that is not working.

well i tried the Special (David)K V4.0 and i installed advanced config to change some stuff to my liking and i cannot select anything on the menu in advanced config. also noticed the same in ie after i went back to old ie i cannot tap on any bookmarks to select and go to the page also fuze tweak same problem, cant select anything after the program opens?
About the same here. I just tried to view some upcoming appointments in calendar, and I cannot select any of the softkeys, only the keyboard.

I tried V4 w/ TF3D, but I couldn't click on any links in my email, e.g., I would open an email with a link in it (like my daily email from FuzeMobility ), but clicking on any of the links simply did not work. I also have the link that shows up and says "click here to download images" in all my emails that have pictures, but when I click on it, nothing at all happens.
I also found V4 TF3D to be more "laggy" than my current ROM.

look 2 posts up. this issue is known and v4.2 should fix this issue.

in the hergafied v4.5 i forgot to put the welcomehead.192.png in the rom.
it all works so dont get scared of a bad flash.
this is a heads up.
As you caan probably tell by the title this will be my last Fuze rom. I got a Tilt 2(Rhodium) yesterday and will now be cooking for that device. As always my former device will be passed to my wife. I cant thank all of you enough for the support, contributions, and friendship. The raphael forum was by far the best ive participated in so far here at xda. I will do my best to continue suppoting the roms ive already posted without having a device.

This is a brand new ROM. It is optimized for the HTC fuze for the ATT network. However, it can be used on a touch pro or on any network.
This is the RRE 6.5 series. I have eliminated most of the annoying stuff from 6.5 and tried to enable as much of the 6.1 functionality as possible.
Standard apps are very similar to my 6.1 series. I eliminated a few that did not play nice on 6.5. I will slowly add and remove stuff as we test it. Once the list gets pretty constant I will compile the info for posting.
Stop here to see those who have contributed to RRE ROM production.
CHome is the standard today. If you want TF3D enable it via the today settings.

YOU MUST HAVE HARDspl TO INSTALL THIS ROM OR ANY OTHER CUSTOM ROM.
THIS ROM IS ONLY FOR GSM DEVICES
Several things are installed during customization. Please do not skip the customization.
AT&T users will find it already set up for use.
Non-AT&T users need to install the reenable connection setup cab and reset. Let it run to set up your connection.
Non AT&T users must also Change this registry key to equal 0 instead of 1: HKLM/HARDWARE/DEVICEMAP/KEYBD/CWSLayout
or install the easy cab provided here (NOW INCLUDED IN FUZE TWEAK FOR MY ROM)
Some european users will need to make this change to send sms.
If you make modifications to TF3D please do not ask me to solve your problems. It is hard enough to support a rom in general without people breaking things on thier own and asking for them to be fixed. Feel free to report if a certain mod does not work for other users.

if you plan to use the htc keyboard instead of finger keyboard you must uninstall the disable xt9 cab or you will get stuck in number mode eventually.

Arrup, There is a new YouTube? Just wondering. We all want to be up to date Also, for your phone skin thing(notice you posted how to change it) I posted a cab in Da_G's thread for a script/App to switch on the fly. No need to open regeditor and installs shortcut in programs.

one small q from v4, actually:
I noticed that after using it for a while, it no longer prompted me (and therefore stops at) the passcode screen to unlock my SIM, instead going straight to the home screen. Is it a feature (time limit default if I don't enter the code) or a small bug? Believe that it should 'wait' for the passcode to be keyed in.
I've enjoyed V4 so far. A few small issues but I think those are more of a 6.5 thing. Hope this might solve a few things.

unfortunately the usb port no longer works on my titan, so I have no way to flash or charge it.

(for the record - the alarm not sounding was a registry problem created by HTC in oemdrivers and affected all CDMA roms)

Yes. Still a wealth of information on XDA, but PPCGeeks seems to have pulled the CDMA crowd.
Does messaging still pop up occasionally on wake up or reboot? I've had that annoyance on all 6.5 roms

Yeah it seems the CDMA crowd has largely moved to ppcgeeks
updated again, the kitchen now builds with 0 modules in slot 0.

i wouldn't know how. i removed htc's modification of some registry keys to allow for MS default during building.

Yeah, sounds a bit complicated to do just through the registry on the phone. I'll try and upgrade tonight when I get home.

Com Branches, brief explanation:
COM2 and COM3 share the same base, but after build 23017 the COM3 tree branched off and got the 'new' layout. At this point COM2 remained the active development tree for 6.5 and spawns updates regularly (fixes the current released 6.5 build of Windows Mobile).
COM3 up to build 23088 is the tryout build for the new layout of Windows Mobile (replaces start menu, dropdown taskbar, etc.). This build is very experimental and contains many bugs. It will be around for another couple of weeks when it will probably be terminated and integrated into COM5, but I'll get to that.
COM4 the branch, 234xx, is the (in)active OS development branch. It focusses on updating the main Windows OS (Win CE 5.2). It is known for it's new Outlook interface. It's currently uknown (to me) if it's still active, but it hasn't got any updates in the past few weeks. The Outlook updates have been coorporated into the COM3 branch.
COM5 is the branch starting with 235xx, and contains at this point nothing new. It's unknown what the main focus is, but it is likely to replace COM3 and COM4 and integrate all the changes uptill now. This means the other COM trees will die off and become active once the OS get's released (as was the case with COM 2 and COM3)...

In the title you say 6.5.3 build 23518 but in the pictures it's like 23515...
For now, the latest is 23616, so what's yours ?
By the way, I would really really apreciate if there will be a Windows Mobile 6.5.3 latest build with nothing with it. I mean clean and none additional programs installed.
WHY !? because things like opera, sense, manila, and all kind of programs are always updating and I can uninstall and install the new version without flashing again.
It's like having the newest build of Windows but clean, no modds, just the best drivers and the newest. I would do it myself but I'm an IT student and nowdays I have exams and all those kind of things.
I bought my HTC Diamond 2 for using multiple operating system, and of course, the latest builds. Windows Mobile and Android will be ok for that.
PS: another reason for wanting the clean Windows Mobile latest build with no additional programs is because I want Android on my main memory, the microsd card will be for additional stuff

VM6.5 many many builds
As I looked all day for latest WM builds, I understood that Windows Mobile 6.5.3 build 28004 is officially released and now, for developers, build 28205 is out for a while.
Of course, my first thought that crossed my mind is: why would we cook a new rom using an old build ?
I'm sticking to your thread, Pisca, because there are only 2 cooks who updates everything in their release, not only the WM, and one of them 2 is you, I really appreciate that
Although there is a great work, HTC proof of stupidness is outrageous.
A .cab file with their revolutionary Sense would be what we need, because an updated version means, for now, moding the VM and then flashing again

The names are used to upload to rapidshare only, nothing relevant
There are 2 diferent things, one is the HTC Topaz Roms, and they are official/Shipped, I think are the ones you mention
Another thing are the builds leaked, and they equal with the same packs, but including sometimes minor changes, or bigger from time to time
It's dificul to explain step by step where those differencies are, I use to include a list of packs included in my Roms, beside Sys ones
The diference in my Roms series are usually the SYS/XIP new leaks, and I'm using the most recent
I may realize that v3.2 build 2000 is newer than v3.1 build 7500
BUT
what is your newest build ? I do not reffer to your newest job, but newest WM build, and maybe the one you recommend ?
