Anyone know how to organize photo albums? - Hero, G2 Touch Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Does anyone know how to assign photos to new albums? For example, if I take a bunch of pictures at a wedding, how can I put them all into an album, so when I go into the "Albums" app, I can go into "John and Jane's Wedding," rather than scrolling through hundreds of pictures.

you can create folders on your sdcard, which are shown as seperate albums then. not really convinient, but works.

I got the exactly same problem, I did create a new photo folder in my SD card, and its displayed separately only in SD card, once plug and view on the phone, its still combining all the photo in one album .. anyone knows how to do it ?

I have a folder named Pictures in the root of the SD card, then subfolders, each subfolder shows up as a different album.

Ah, that's the key. The folder has to be called "Pictures." I called my folder "Photos" and everything still showed up under the "Camera Shots" album. I renamed it to "Pictures," and *poof!* like magic, I have my separate albums.
Thanks!

Pictures appearing multiple times in Gallery

They're multiplying!
Although the .jpg files appear only once in the file system, pictures appear multiple times in Gallery.
Currently I have three instances of each picture.
For a folder with 100 .jpg files, the corresponding album in Gallery lists 300 pictures, each one appearing 3 times.
I imagine there is a simple fix. Like deleting an index someplace, and letting Gallery reindex all the picture files. But where might the index be?
Deleting .thumbnails folders, as suggested in some other threads does not resolve the issue.

[Q] Easily create folders for images

Is there some gallery app or an app that allows me to easily create folders for images.
I know about file browsers but thats not exactly what I want.
This may help:
Folder Organizer
I use it, but not for images.

Folder based DNLA sharing app?

Hi,
I have a ton of mp3 folders neatly organized on my GS2 and sometimes when I have people over I´d like to simply share a playlist that I´ve created on a folder. Is there an app that lets me do that? So far I´ve only found apps that allow you share files by manually selecting each file...which would mean having to select each song one after the last one ended.
WiFi File explorer lets you share any number of files/folders. You just type an IP address in any browser window.

[Q] Saving Pictures - Attachments

Just received a picture in my email that I would like to save. I download the picture and can view it, but then there's no way to access it or save it to my device. Not even a method for copying. Has anybody figured out a way to save or copy an email attachment?

I'll just go ahead and reply to my own thread. You have to go to your gallery, then switch the view to "albums", then all downloads. You'll find them in there.
Derp.
There's also a Downloads shortcut/app in the tools folder in the app drawer. Downloaded Astro file manager before I finally found that, but probably would have anyway.

Questions about ignoring or hiding media files

So here is what I have found out so far:
just like on Linux, I can create a folder starting with a "." i.e. ".myhiddenmedia" and it will not show up anywhere except if I use a filemanager and chose to "show hidden files"
I can create an empty file called ".nomedia" and put it into folders I don't want indexed for media
My progress so far:
I have a folder: .myhiddenmedia where I store my stuff I don't want to show up anywhere and I have put a file named .nomedia into some folders I don't want indexed i.e. I didn't want the pictures I send/receive via Whatsapp to show in my image gallery and neither my screenshots so I placed this file in those two folders.
Now the remaining problem I have is that the album cover art for all my music does show up in my media gallery but I cannot go and place a .nomedia file into every subdirectory as I have quite a lot of music and it changes as I copy/delete to and from my desktop. I also fear that a .nomedia file would stop my music from being index too.
How do you guys tame your media?
