Looking for a GPS app that maps where I've been - Windows Mobile Apps and Games

Hey Gang,
Is there a plugin/overlay for google maps that will map where I have been. Be great when I am in the woods on my ATV

Hi There
Almost any/every gps application can record you route which you just then import into google earth.... It's just a matter of finding which one you prefer from the many hundreds of apps available.
regards
Lohtse

I've used trackme and really like it. There are threads on here of his. Here's his website. You can download trips or make your own server and view it there.

You may also want to have a look at NaviComputer, in this same forum.

I agree
I have to agree that Navicomputer is the best general tracker. It may lack some of the more advanced features but is very quick and creating maps for it is very simple. Also you can create Open Street Maps and Virtual Earth Satellite maps. Out of all the programs I've tried, and I've tried a few (GPS Tuner, Navicomputer, Pathway) this is the best.

I have tried this one and it generates the kml for google earth

Try this BackCountry Navigator :good:

Since when does/can a unit based on Windows Mobile run an Android app, as this is the case with BackCountry Navigator ???

[Q] NavFree USA - Best GPS/Navigation application for OFFLINE mode?

I have been searching for gps/navigation applications that support offline usage, aka installing maps on the device where no internet is required for the application to work..
I found NavFree USA, which apparently supports offline mode.
Is this a good GPS application?
If you have any other you think is good/better, please list them. Paid applications or not. NavFree USA does not require a payment to install; it is free.
Please comment the GPS/navigation applications you have had experiences with.
Thank you,

Never tried NavFree, but you could take a look at this, too:

It has a pretty good rating
I have tried NavFree for many months now, and I find it to be very good
I can highly recommend it to anyone who wants a offline GPS Navigation system.
Thanks, I'm on holiday now in the USA and this is going to very very handy, thought Google navigation would work with the maps cached but unfortunately not, still need a data connection for that.
Going to test Navfree today, hopefully won't get lost anymore!

Does this Androd App exist?

I want my phone to use cell towers (and GPS when I turn it on) to keep track of me so that if I give someone a URL, they will always be able to see where I am (approximately) on a Google Map.
It seems that Real Time GPS Tracker *kind of* does this, but it requires GPS to be on and not just cell towers. It also renders it on it's own iframed map, not a stand-alone Google Map.

Look up "Glympse" in the google play store.
Who do you want to share this with? If you trust them on your google account, google does it automatically.

I used Instamapper for years until it shut down. I *believe* this is a "rebirth" of the same service and app, but I am not 100% sure.
Was a great app, haven't tried the new one.

[Q] Extracting location info from Google Maps in Android Phone

Dear all,
I'm relatively a novice in Android and I'm interested to learn more about it. Have started a small project experimenting with the extraction of location info from apps like Google Maps in Android Mobile Phones.
Any idea whether it is technically possible, say using ADB to interact with the phone and through which, extract past location info that the user had used Google Maps to plot for a destination. Basically having the ability to piece together where an user had gone to, if he/she had used Google Maps before.
If possible, how so? Any suggestions/directions will be appreciated and thanks

map app with notes function

anybody know a good android map app that would allow me to add pins like google maps does and also make notes for each pin? I would like to use it for marking down good fishing spots I find and recommended by friends. it would be great if it was geared toward fishing but any general map app will do fine. it's really stupid google maps is missing this feature. seems like it would be common sense to include it.
thanks

Offline Map App for China?

Google Maps doesn't offer Offline Maps for China, Here Maps also revoke their support for China Mainland. Is there any Offline Maps App which support China and is easy to use for english speaking foreigner? Baidu Maps is nice, but only usuable with some chinese language skills.
OSM based Apps aren't a alternative as their Map coverage is very limited.
There was a "hacked" Google Maps App couple of years ago which allow to download offline maps for every country, but it's not working anymore. May there are other "hacked" Apps for this, now?
Or is it possible to download Chinese Offline Maps with Google Maps using a VPN from inside China?

Hello and welcome to the XDA Forums Q&A section.
I found an app that is hopefully what you are looking for (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=eu.mapof.china&hl=en). If you intend to use this while walking it is probably not recommended since a guy wrote a comment on the app saying:
Your app is excellent however I have found that when I put in the log/lat coordinates from google maps of specific point they do not match. They seem to be out by 500 metres. For example google map reference of a point in Beijing is 39.9075797 / 116.399314 The same location on your app has is : 39.90618 / 116.39313 I would assume that the coordinates from google are the accurate ones. After trying this with a number of different locations it seems like this 500 metere offset is across the board and perhaps the starting reference point in your app is not precise enough.

If the app is not what you are looking for, kindly reply and enjoy your stay!
Hopefully I helped you and if I did, hit thanks .
ThisApp based on OSM, so the map quality isn't good. OSM is banned in China, thats why nobody help to improve map data there.
