I have notice that while my HD2 is ringing i can hear quite well what my caller is doing before i answer the call. If the caller says something i can hear and even i test it while the phone rings the caller hears the carrier beep till the called person (HD2) answer! Conclusion: the caller doesn't notice anything unusual while the person called (HD2) can hear what the caller's do till answer the call!
Does anyone noticed this strange thing?

I just tested that now myself and didn't notice it. Maybe its just your phone, or probably your network.
Don't have that either. I just hear the ring until I pick up.
This happened for two HD2 devices that i could test (mine and a friend's HD2)...
For anyone that could test...
I can hear the caller in the same time with the ringtone that i have for incoming call... and i have vibrate and ring... and for ringtone a song i like!
If there is someone that knows about carrier systems i'm on vodafone and my friend also...

i think i also experienced that today on my hd2
maybe its a certain setting that triggers this behavior
that it sometimes happens and sometimes doesnt
so i dont believe its network related then

similar problem here. Answer the call and the ringtone carries on playing although muted for half a second while i can here the person on the other end. Not sure if they cannot here me until the ringtone stops though.

I am experiencing this problem in all versions of ROMs tested so far. Even in the original ATOM WM5 ROM.
The problem is when I call somebody, who is already in another conversation and have his call waiting feature enabled, I can't sense it from my mobile. I don't get any ringing tones either. It just remain silent and keep showing in the display "Dialing...". Just seems like its searching hard for the network...
I think other ATOM users are also facing the same problem. Have anyone sense it? Any solution on this problem?

I think it is normal if you are calling someone with the call waiting feature enabled, we won't hear anything either engaged tone or ringing tone as our calls in waiting/queue mode. Only he/she will hear the beep sound stating that someone is calling.

I'm come from Bangkok, Thailand and All Rom i ever install is at the same problem (WM5 Original, WM5 O2asia, WM6 Charteux last edition, WM6 Charteux current edition)
Problem is sometime calling, It just no any sound at all and keep showing "Dialing" and may be nothing happen (may be freeze or long wait) when press end key on screen or hangup button. But i don't sure about the reach is busy or cann't connect (Used to ask my friend that his call is busy when i'm calling, he told not) Sometime cann't reach the network, it could happen again, It's seem better when use WM6 (Can ending, not wait for long time)
Is it may be radio ROM?? Or Bug??

All my friends using ATOM and me too is facing the problem from the very first ROM to till today the latest ROM of Jiggs.
All other devices show status Waiting while ATOM show status Dialing.
Is this a problem of DialPad or anything else.
Does anyone have any solution. Please inform....

For clarification to powerwoot, my experience so far with call waiting from other handsets like Nokia, Motorola, Sony-Ericsson is the display shows a message "Call Waiting..." and then ringing tone is played. So I come to know that other party is busy with some other conversation.
Hope I make you all understand the problem. For your information this feature worked perfectly in O2 XDA II mini with the official ROM.

ie/ if i make a call, and it will display "call waiting..." when i'm trying to reach someone on the other end...

Go to Start>Settings>Phone in Services tab set the settings for Call Waiting to Notify me.
I am not sure, but it may help cause I get status Busy... now at least.

This problems makes me really pissed off..- when my friends call me, my phone starts ring between third and fourth free signal on theirs side, then the time I am realizing it rings and it's in voicemail already..very annoying...what makes this in-acceptable delay?

No my hero does not ring on time what it says the name before any ring its almost after 1 ring on my friends phone

Probably settings, call, call alerts, alerts on call, none.
Or turn off call waiting, since you won't know there's a call waiting anyway.
thanks what happen is that when im talkin to someone and theres a 2nd caller the 1st person heard the beep of the 2nd call and thats plain annoying
But that's the whole point of call waiting, to notify you someone is trying to call you. Lol

Only you (as receiver of the second call) should be notify of the 2nd call.
But very often the person you are speaking with hears beeps too.

If I answer very quick I hear a robot from the future telling me to kill all the monkeyz from the mars(I know they are up there) or it just may be the other persons voice but with a robotic/fuzzy/50% downloaded video file/noisy/electric touch; the other persons hears me exactly the same. If I let it ring for 4-5 seconds everything is ok. I can live with this but I have to ask: does anyone else have this problem?
I've encountered it on 2.3.3,2.3.4, ICS and other custom roms.

What I want is a bit complicated. But I'm sure there might be an app which can do it. I've enabled call waiting in my Android. However, I don't wanna know the person on my other end to know I'm talking with someone else. What I want is, the other caller should get the normal ringing tone while I'm already talking to other person. I've seen it in some cheap Samsung phones (2/3/4 years back).
I want that none knows while I'm talking. If I turn off call waiting, the other call will not be able to call me. The call will not go to the ringing process. I want one hear the ringing tone as if I'm talking to nobody. ANy app?
