Wassup People,
I Upgraded the ROM on my p3400i Gene New a fe days back and can't stop Upgrading it over and over again. I tried cooking but, keep getting an error or the other. I'm unable to find a BASE ROM for my Phone. Is there any other Tool which is a little more User Friendly? Any help would be GREAT..........I want to Create a ROM with the Application I need.

Hi All,
I have a HTC Gene PPC. I want to upgrade my PPC OS from the default HTC WM5 to WM6 but I don't want to brick it...
ALso as I am first time user I want to take backup of original ROM before updating so that in case something goes wrong I am able to switch back to the OEM WM5....
Can pls tell me how can I take Backup of Original ROM with was shipped with my HTC P3400 ( Gene's name in India) ?
I tried searching the same on the xda forum but I couldn't find.... I may have missed.. but I really tried hard...
So can some one pls help me ?

I want to backup ROM... then only I will go ahead... tell me one source for wm5.0 rom... there is none as of now

My Dear Chefs,
I have been on the xda-developers for quite long time now..
I have been flashing my prophet with new ROM every now and than.But I have always wished tht I cud make my own ROM.
I did as much reading on the forum as i can ...bt I have not found any cook book with the tools which can Guide me step by step to make a ROM.
I have already installed the HYPERCORE and NEOKit bt i fail to even complete even 15%.
I am not a program writer nor a computer engineer by any means but yes I can assure you that I have passion for learning and will definetly b able to cook my own ROM all I need is some help and guidence.
Can my dear friends give me a guide with a good tool to start with..
PS.I know there are many more like me and making this thread sticky will just flow the thread by new ROM every 15mim by some rookie like me..lol

manila but I couldn't find.
I read about upgrading and ROMS, I don't know what are roms.
can someone explain me regarding ROMS ,upgrading & where I can find softwares.

first u need to do a HSPL for u to us the Roms in this site
remember if u do the same u will lose ur warranty if this is OK with u see the last line in my signature click on it and read the same it also has the tools required read it around 5-10 times and do it word for word and u will be able to flash any rom u want all roms
if ur only looking for various SW for WM6 got to development and hacking section u could find the same

I own an HTC Iolite: Touch Cruise 2
I bought 2 months ago and it has on it Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional.
I want to install Windows Mobile 6.5 Professional...
I havent done anything at all to my mobile as far as installing any kinds of roms are concerned...this means that I really need a clear and comprehensive explation-instructions of what to do...
Also tell if I' ll face problems with the new softare and of course do I have to secure all the data???
will everything be lost after the update??
Finally,I would like to ask generally how safe it is and what are the risks

It is good to make a back-up of your Rom in case you have to return your phone for a repair under guarantee see here how to: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=492747
Why flash a custom Rom? Rom cookers have made something that offers more than the stock Rom's. And in particular when your phone is older than half a year or so it lacks the latest software...like Windows Mobile 6.5 .....

I'm new to xda-developers and started to want to upgrade my HTC TyTN to Windows Mobile 6.5 Professional. But, I cannot find any ROM's, and also i'm new to all this stuff so I need some guidance. Can someone help me?

Welcome to XDA-Developers.
All you need to do is flash Hard-SPL to unlock your phone (to put any sim in) and to also enable you to be able to flash custom roms in.
Then find any wm6.5 roms and flash it into your device...
I personally prefer the wm6.1 roms, they are most stable and faster imo.

Since Mr.Vanx's website was taken down, I ask you what are the changes i need to perform and if I need to apply them to Windows 7.
