iPAQ PLEASE HELP: rw6828 Can't charge while the device is on. - iPAQ rw6828, XDA Atom ROM Development

hi all,
i have problems with my ipaq rw 6828.
it only charge when i turned off the device. but when i turned on the device it will stop charging and can't connet to ActiveSync either.
i have done anything (soft reset, hard reset, repair bootloader, change the rom ) but still can't get out from this problem.
can anyone help me please or at least show me the thread similar like this if there's any...
big thanks,

IPAQ dosn't charge
Most probably you have damaged your usb connector. This model dosn't charge without signal. For a permanent comfortable solution, you should get the bottom connector changed from a good repair shop. You can charge for now by connecting charger first, clicking on charging icon on top, then click on usb charging, click slow charge and click ok. then repeat the steps and click on fast charge and click ok. (looks tedious but is quick) . I have been charging my mobile like this for a year now. You know going to service center is a time consuming process. Also I will have to do for a day without my mobile which is nearly impossible. I backup my contacts on memory card for backup purpose and activesync wont work, but thats ok.

Device does not work / do not charge. Any tips?

Hello XDA-Users....
I've got a little problem with my xda-device.
It's just doing not much. If i attach the device to the cradle. The system turned on and is beginning to start the ROM (I see the T-Mobile screen). I-ve got the hint that the installed ROM is 3.13. Radiostack and Protocol is empty. -> should be then GSM-Error in the bootloader.
After all this messages i've got an short "pling" (beep) of the device, and it all begins from starting....
I can not enter bootloader (nothing happens) and the battery won't be charged..... (There is no light)
I've checked already the fuse of the device. Looks good. What else do i have for possibilities to get the device working again? That the GSM-Part does not work is not important. I need the device just for testing and installing new software to include in the kitchen. So the phone function is not needed.
The battery semms to work, I still got some Volt if i check it with the multimeter.
Anyone have some tips for me?
Stefan
Have you looked at the connector on the base of the xda under magnification, it may be a bent pin on that or on the cradle that is preventing charging.
Connector looks good.
If i conect it, the device is getting power.
When i disconnect the cable / cradle the device stops doing anything and goes off.
If i do an hard reset with connected USB-cable, nothing happens.
If i try enter bootloader the display is flashing until i refuse the power button. Than endless "booting" starts again...
Stefan
It does sound like a low power situation, I think the gsm will not switch in unless there is sufficient power. If you need a battery I have one here that was removed from an xda a few months ago but should be fine, send me your address if you need it and I will give it to you.
That previous post was from me. Also have you checked that you dont have a stuck button.?
The buttons looks fine. tested them already. So that isn't the fault *damn*
If you can send me the battery, that would be very nice.
Maybe it's really the probelm. But i think, if the battery is in bad condition, there should be anway going a light on to show "going to load tthe battery".....

If a hard reset doesn't solve the problem, then try this.
DO A FULL BACKUP FIRST!!!
Open the XDA, and remove the battery
(together with whatever circuit is attached)
Put the battery in the freezer for about 20 minutes.
Remove it, and reinstall it.
Now put it back in the cradle and it should charge.
Then to a restpore from the backup.
This just happened to me and it brought my XDA back to life.
A chemical process happens to rechargeable batteries that
prevents them from receiving a charge. Apparently freezing
the battery for a very short time (20 minutes) corrects this.
Try this at your own risk, but I did it to my only XDA and it is working fine
for about a week now. Otherwise I would have had to scrap my XDA.
Let me know how it works for you.

Sorry to hear it didn't work.
Its been over a week and mine seems to be holding up.
I'd have to guess you battery is completely dead.
i have the same problem
you seem to be having the same problem as me m8 do you have no radio
or information on the radio task bar.
my unit keeps on re-starting the same as yours and i cant access setup even after hard reset. i attempt to charge the unit and the pwr light comes on briefly then goes out after approx 10 secs the unit then starts itself up and as mentioned before turns itself on and off randomly.
(i have no software for this unit just the unit and charger no memory card)
i am new to pda's do i need any softwares if i get it working?
any feedback appreciated

Wallaby does not charge

Hi,
I have an O2 XDA 1. This morning I noticed the battery was empty so I tried plugging it in to charge. The orange light does not come on and the battery does not charge no matter how long I leave it on. I have tried it both in the cradle and with an adaptor but still nothing happens. I even changed the internal battery but it is still the same.
Any ideas as to what i can do?
Dale.
i have the same problem. can anyone help me with this problem.
thanks b4.

Hello Guys..
I've same problem with you guys..
The last day i charge my Wallaby was 2 days ago, and this morning i try to re-charge it with USB but cannot recharge, i try the cradle but it doesn't recharge too.
I think the battery was good because my O2 was powered on and running normal, just cannot re-charge.
I try to remember what i have done before... then.. i remember..
Before i try to recharge, my friend was try to connect his Universal USB Cable for his HP IPAQ (I forget the series) to my Wallaby and his PC detect and try to Synch my Wallaby but the charging indicator doesn't lite.
I Think, Maybe.. something wrong with the electricity, amphere, voltage, or whatever that comes out from his Universal USB Cable.
I have been hard reset and go to boot loader to see the Battery test, but doesn;t help..
Any body can help us??

That´s the problem. Ipaq has other Pin layout, so you have damaged something in your device. I´m giessing, that the fuse is blowen away...
Stefan
Oh my..
My Wallaby was physically broken because the shortcircuit, right?
I affraid the money i must to spend to repair will be the same like i buy it (second hand)..
Nothing i can do but go to repair shop, right?
You can try fixing it yourself. You can check if the fuse is not working any more and you can replace it, if you´re kind in soldering....
Stefan
Hello LumpiStefan,
It was a long time no see.
Still use the wallaby with ROM cooked by your ROM Cooker until now.
I just wan to give my credit to you LumpiStefan.
Cheers.
same problem here....
Wallaby charging problem
Hi guys,
I have a charging problem too. I have a wallaby. when i put it onto cradle led turns to amber and then immediately to green. Settings > Power section says the battery full of 100%. But when put off it from cradle, 1 minute later, it goes off. I changed the battery with a new one. still same problem. I also checked two fuses located on both side of the main board. They are OK. No fuses blowned.
So, don't know what to do. it actually works very well but charging problem. I don't want to throw it away. any other external charging device is OK for me.
I need your helps. Thanks.

Hello all. This is my first post.
I've used my Wallaby for many years. Yesterday it doesn't start anymore and if I put it into the cradle no light is displayed.
Last change I did was to replace my GSM SIM card with a UMTS one; since that moment it doesn't work anymore.
You were talking about fuses... Where are they located exactly ? What kind of fuse are they ? How can I check if they're blowned ?
Moreover.. I've a backup of my Wallaby... eventually is there any emulator where I can resume/restore all my contacts ?
Thanks,
Marco
Looking for replacement Wallaby
If anybody is interested, I have a few Wallabys for sale.
May be cheaper than trying to replace broken screens or paying for repairs.

HTC HD2 problem

Yesterday something strange happenend to my HD2. (Artemis V24)
I forgotten to charge the battery and the battery was toltal empty.
After charging the phone the phone started like a start for the first time.
I had to make all settings again.
During the day I had to reset my phone serveral times, because the phone freezed.
Later that day i flashed the ROM to Artemis V26.1 but the phone kept freezing.
I did a hard reset and now the phon doesn't start any more.
The white screen with HTC with the red numbers are shown and after that my screen becomes black/gray striped.
What is wrong with my phone ? How can i solve this problem.
Hopefully someone can help me !
Thanks in advance !
black/grey stripped?
could you share a picture with us pls?
maybe your hw is damaged...
if so, revert you spl to you stockspl (normally 1.42.00000) and your stock rom..then you can send it to htc or bring it to your shop.

My HW damaged ?
After an empty battery ? Is that possible ?
its just a guess...but what is impossible?
maybe its just a bad fortune

I have two batteries fror my HD2 and have discovered that batteries can do strange things. For example, one of my two batteries WILL NOT charge from a car charger (the charge light goes off, red, green in a continuous cycle and the battery continues to drain). I've tried several different car chargers, same problem. The other battery charges fine from a car charger. Both batteries charge fine from AC and USB.
My point is, maybe it is worth trying another battery before sending for repair. Perhaps the battery has not been able to properly regain charge after going flat. Replacements can be bought cheap on ebay.
Another possibility is to charge via a different method. I had an Asus PDA that wouldn't restart after going flat (just endlessly reset itself). Charging it from a USB cable connected to a computer instead of from the AC charger fixed the problem (must have been slightly different output voltages).

Phone going dead after a large Outlook e-mail synchronization

Hi guys,
I'm repasting what I wrote in my previous thread hoping you can have a clearer view of my issue.
My phone has the standard ROM, WP 6.5, nothing changed
I never flushed the phone, never formatted it, etc, everything is legit!
My TG01 has died many months ago and now I'm looking into ways of having it re-activated. I will explain to you my possible theories why it died, so maybe some of you will have an idea how to fix it
- For the first 4-5 months I only used PC USB (synchronization) charging, as I had a UK mains which obviously does not work in Europe. I noticed that the battery indicator was never really accurate, showing me the battery levels very vaguely.
- I often synchronized my Outlook e-mails with my mobile phone, one day my phone died when I chose to synchronize all e-mails. It died to an extent that the battery was completely empty. My PC wouldn't recognize it and it would only start for 5 seconds (the red led lamp would shine) and then die...
I somehow managed to revive it with my normal charger but afterwards it used to overheat quite a lot...
- One day I left it to synchronize again and the battery died on me again (at least that's what I think had happened)... the difference that USB PC charging did not work anymore as well mains charging. I was desperate enough to buy a replacement battery from eBay and I still have the same story. When I connect the phone to the charger I don't even see the diode lighting up anymore.. NOTHING. Any tips?
Could it be that the replacement battery is also so empty that even a mains can't charge it anymore? I heard someone mention something with cutting a wire etc, ... would that help me? IF so.. how do you exactly do that?
Thanks!
Hi guys,
So far no luck in getting updates from you, but I've got an update for myself:
I somehow managed to get the LED diode turn red when I connected it to the computer, which should be indicating the fact that the phone is charging, right? When I try to power it up the device manager recognizes a device called TOSHIBA DL... does this mean my phone is in some sort of emergency state?
The screen lights up a bit as well, but remains black.
yess this means your tg01 is NOT bricked. try take your battery out and put it back in so its totaly switched off then press n hold CAMERA, VOL UP, POWER keys to perform a master reset. if that doesnt work try this,
use the short pin method, put a .tsw in a PRG folder at the root off your sd card and short pins 1 and 3
if not,
download a tg01 rom in a .bin and flashh the .bin via tgdownloader
if you dont know these methods please tell me and i will link and help you.
Hi!
Thanks for your reply. If you could guide me a bit with the pins method, that would be great.
Also, when I plug in the mobile phone to charge now the red light is now flashing, instead of remaining constant, what could that indicate?
Phone never turns on now
hi there, it sounds like your battery has gone flat try leaving it on charge via USB for a few hours see if that will kickstart it and for the pin method
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=654674
try to charge your battery first as it may just be a flat battery but if not you may need to reflash your rom via the pin method
if there are any problems or you are unsure message me back

S2 (international) hard bricked itself overnight

Hello there,
yesterday i got my phone back as it should get repaired (which it wasnt as it was not a warranty case) and so i rooted it and reinstalled cm10. all went fine and everything worked as it should.
installed a few apps and sync was all good. no force close or errors in general. During the night I kept it connected to my notebook (in standby) so it gets charged.
Bad surprise: I woke up and it didn't react at all. Black screen. nothing happens when removing the battery putting it back in and plugging in the usb-cable. no touch lights or whatsoever. no recovery, no download mode. just nothing at all.
i do have a wobbly usb port on my phone but yesterday it charged just fine without any interruption. just data mode wont work perfectly (loses connection and connects again) actually it always charges fine. so i dont think it is because of the usb port.
so what shall i do? i didnt use the phone overnight, it wasnt connected in wifi. just idling and now it isnt responding anymore...
hope that somebody can help
cheers

Does anything happen when you charge it with the normal wall charger?
Any way to try with another battery... just to see if the phone is really bricked or maybe there is no juice left in the battery...
also clean out your USB port with a toothbrush.. I had a similar issue with USB connection.. cleaning it out resolved that...

thank you for your tips.
nothing happens with the normal wall charger. trying another battery will be possible tonight and i will report back.
did the cleaning. didnt change anything with not charging but maybe if the phone will boot with the other battery it might have helped ^^
i read the other bricked thread and that was quite disapointing. still have warranty on it so maybe i'll send it directly to samsung rather than amazon.
thanks anyway for your help.
just might be interesting for cm10 users. I mean I did absolutely nothing with it. or maybe it was nand failure. idk
