Unable to turn on Wifi after ERE27 update - Nexus One Android Development

I dont know whats going on.
After flashing the latest radio, i cant turn on wifi anymore. It simply comes up saying "unable to start wi-fi"
I had a rooted phont (t-mobile ver) and I went to the Mocodo website, paid the GB$9.99 for a years subscription. Got the latest radio upgrade and used fastboot flash radio radio.img to load it. After that I cannot get the wifi to work.
I also flashed with an original boot.img for the first version of the rom, so that I could try to get the latest update (after rooting).. I dont know if this has anything to do with it
What did I do wrong?
help!

You only flashed the radio? Weird. Try flashing it again?

Fine with me after update.

Can someone please post me the original T-mobile stock rom? I've seen a few on these forums, but they do not contain radio.img, system.img, recover.img and boot.img.
I want a totally stock original rom! I hope this will fix my problem

Sorry can't help you pal, just try to flash the radio again?

Full stock ERD79 with all images is here.

I downloaded the stock images, but the zip file was corrupted and wouldnt open.
I downloaded the zip file for the RA 1.5.3 recovery, and it aborted, as it ran out of space...
still need help!

Same problem,
The only difference I have is that after update everything was fine, but when I rooted the phone it can't enable Wifi anymore.
I did a few Factory rest but still same thing, tried to flash the radio only but wouldn't allow me.
I still have the stock recovery no custom recovery.
Any help would be appreciated it.

Download ERD79 images zip from here, rename to update.zip and try applying from the stock recovery.
P

I am not sure if it's because I flashed boot.ERE27.superboot.himem.img, or WyContacts1.0r2, I can't turn on my WIFI now.

chmilu, you said yours was fine?
Flash back to stock ERE27, and if that doesn't help flash back to stock ERD79 via the full images.

I booted the himem and had the no wifi problem. I have then baked a new zip with himem to flash over it. It is working fine now.

Yes, it's quite strange, I was tring to find the reason now.
I just flashed nexusone.superboot.1.1.img again, but it doesn't work for WIFI anyway, I will try to reinstall the radio.

I had the no Wi-Fi problem after installing the update from modaco, and then the radio update (I couldn't use the OTA because my phone was rooted).
I fixed it by re-flashing the main update from modaco, and then re-rooting with his new superboot (I used the superboot.himem img).
I think maybe the problem was caused by re-rooting the first time with superboot 1.1?? Maybe not, but as soon as I switched to the new one, it worked fine, and it's all good now!

WIFI still can't be turned on after I flash the radio again. Sad..........

You probably have a mismatched wireless ko and kernel.
If you flash the himem superboot then go back to a regular one, you'll need to recopy the wireless ko, as superboot installs it's new one.
P

Where can I find wireless ko?

Just reflashed the stock ERE27 image and you'll get the stock KO and the stock kernel back. Check everything works again then you can re-use the highmem superboot.

Need help restoring back to factory settings without USB connection please

Hi,
My USB connection is broken and i need to send my phone for repair. Most of the methods for getting the phone back to stock involve an RUU that works over USB. Since i do not have this luxury i have flashed the generic WWE hero rom and stock radio. But what about the recovery image etc?
Once i had flashed the generic stock rom and radio i got a notification about the OTA. I thought, great, this will take me back to official software with recovery image etc. However when it asked if i wish to install the update and i said yes it got to the recovery image and threw some error at me so it wont flash the OTA.
EDIT: the error i get is
Finding update package
Opening update package
Verifying update package
E: No signature (216 files)
E: Verification failed
Installation Aborted
Does anyone have any advice? Does anyone have a link to a zip that i can flash from recovery that will take everything back to default including the recovery image?
Any suggestions?
Thanks.
Sorry but you can't reset to default without a usb connection (BTW the default for a hero would be 1.5 ROM which it came with). By that being said a mini usb is very common (like for some cameras, external harddrives etc.) are you sure you don't have one laying around?
not the cable its the port
Hi,
It's not the cable thats broken it's the port. Is there really no other way to restore without using the usb port??
solution!
For all those naysayers that said it could not be done!
First i found a super old stock rom on modaco, one with a kernal that allowed the use of flashrec.
Then i found some nice person that had posted a backup of their recovery image. I copied that recovery backup to the sd card and used flashrec to restore it so now i have the stock recovery image and stock rom.
Only problem now is for some reason the device is not telling me that an OTA update is due. It did this for every other stock rom that i tried so i am a bit concerned i am now stuck with the oldest stock rom....
Any ideas? ....agian?

I would just send it in for repair. Then root it from 1.5 when you get it back
Ok, i think i might.
Is there any chance they could tell i have been messing with it, for example it has the oldest stock ROM installed on it, is this not slightly suspisious?? Maybe the radio version is slightly newer than the ROM version? I know these guys will look for any excuse not to honour my warranty.
Or is it perfectly ok as long as all the software on it is standard android / htc stuff?
Thanks for all your advice.
settings > privacy> factory data reset ....
try that if it helps
Is it possible that it messed up your settings cause you used someone else's recovery image?
you could go htc website and try to install the official 2.73 rom and then upate to the 2.1 ota from there
obiously you will loose root if your phone was rooted but you can always unroot if you have your goldcard.img

[Q] SGT 10.1 P7500 Infinite boot

Yesterday, I plugged in my tab to the charger over night. When I unplugged it today, I restarted it and after that it won't boot. The tab only shows the "Samsung galaxy tab 10.1" text for about 20-30 seconds and then it seems to reboot.
The device is rooted and running this rom. It is a 10.1" P7500 3g version.
Although I can still access recovery and bootloader modes, so I've tried wiping cache (normal cache can be cleared, but not dalvik) and data but nothing happens when I try to do it (It justs stays at formatting data forever when I do a full wipe). I've also tried flashing the same firmware and reinstalling the same rom again. I had an old backup of a earlier version of the rom, which I restored to but then I only get the boot screen to load for 2-3 seconds and then it freezes.
What should I do now?

Alright, what files should I flash? Should I get a hold of a original firmware? Thanks for answering btw!
Ah you're welcome
Just get it off samfirmware.com, get HC 3.2 (Don't go for 3.1 as it is rubbish), Get the european firmware as it is the same and the most stable build (Also the first release for most new firmwares, if ICS were to come out, EU would get the firmware first)
GL and feel free to ask what you lack
Flashing guide's are pretty much simple.
Flash the unextracted file (must be in md5 extension) in PDA slot in odin in download mode and voila.

I downloaded a 3.2 firmware from samfirmware.com, more specific:
"P7500XWLB1 3.2 2012 February P7500NSELA1 Sweden (Telia)"
It was zipped, i unzipped it and it was one .md5 file and one .dll file. I flashed the .md5 file with Odin in PDA. Odin tells me it is successful, and then the tab shows some scripts saying everything is succesful and then it reboots into the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 text. After that I get a text saying "Manual mode, updating application..." for a while until it reboots into the same procedure again.
Atm I'm downloading another firmware just to be sure, I'll post when I've tried that one aswell. (It's named7500XWLB1 3.2 2012 February P7500OXXLB1 Nordic countries)
Really appreciate your help
Edit: Tried the other firmware without any success.
But have you been able to boot into the tablet properly after flashing? Don't worry about the dll, I don't really know what it's for, actually no one know's since Samsung hasn't even told us what it's used for, and phone's don't read dll's
That manual mode updating is the stock recovery building the CSC and everything (Regional settings)
Which firmware didn't work? You can only use 7500 firmware on a 7500 And don't forget to flash a CWM recovery, just might save your life

I flashed P7500XWLB1 3.2 2012 February P7500OXXLB1 Nordic countries, and booted it but nothing happened. So I flashed a CWM recovery, and then it boots into Samsungs original-boot animation and then a text says Samsung. And then after a while it reboots again.
I'm at a loss right now, should I try to flash in a different order or flash with the device booting in between?
Ah, you ended up in a bootloop. Sometimes you may need to flash that firmware, then factory reset in recovery to get it to work. Depends if you had something in your previous ROM that conflicts. Or you can save the problem's and flash with a pit file. The overcome thread has a wonderful guide on that

You can try the method described here;
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=22964943&postcount=4
It will get you back totally to stock, and then you can re-root and reflash.
Hopefully that helps (should fix most problems).

Problem with updating stock ICS

Greetings,
I have a German T-Mobile GSIII that asked to update itself tonight. The current baseband is BOLF1, it attempted to update to BLH3. The update failed with a code 7. I have CWM loaded and also the Siyah 1.5.2 kernel. I am downloading the full BLH3 file from SamMobile, do I just flash that with CWM or do I need to do something else. I have seen comments on the various boards about opening the .zip and changing a setting to supress version checking, but I am not sure if I need to do that or if that is related to the JB leaks.
Any help would be appreciated.
thanks
Mike

Never take official OTA's when on a custom ROM. If you really want the official OTA, either wait until a rooted version is released, or if you can't wait just go to SamFirmware, download the full ROM (not the OTA file) and flash it with ODIN. It'll overwrite everything except your external SD card.

Thanks for the help. I am on stock except for the kernel, not sure if the kernel counds as a custom ROM or not. I guess it does. I had renamed a ton of the origional apps (added .bak to the end) causing verification errors. I am slowly going through and fixing each of them. I have the full ROM from SamFirmware (the origional BLFB not the latest) so I should be able to fix this.

It's because OTA ZIP's that are downloaded to the phone only contain the parts of the ROM that need updating, not an entirely new ROM. You can, however, download the update as an entire ROM from SamFirmware.

[Q] Returning everything on phone to Stocks/Defaults

Hello everybody. I recently flashed my phone with the latest Cyanogenmod rom for the HTC one, using the wHil recovery flasher. However after playing with the rom for a bit I decided I want to swap back to stock everything that came with my phone. What is the process to go about doing this?
Thanks!
Did you make a nandroid before flashing the Rom, if yes then just flash it then flash stock tmobile recovery img then relock the bootloader..just do a quick search and you find out how to do it... But it will still say tampered on bootloader... But ota will work cause that only requires stock recovery and stock Rom
Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk 2
I did not, however I downloaded someone else's stock nandriod dump.
So all I need to do is flash the stock rom, flash the stock recovery, relock the bootloader and I should be able to get OTA updates and all that good stuff again?

Yes, that's what I did, and OTA updates work perfert
That's great to hear. So I shouldn't experience any issues when I return to the stock rom like loosing any kind of features and such?
I've been having issues trying to adb push this backup to my phone since 4.2 andriod has things locked down in regards to backups. Been getting the device not found issue, so I'm going to try and push it using a different PC soon hopefully. With where I work I can't live without WiFi calling/texting that Cyanogenmod lacks
So I have the stock backup through clockwork mod and I have it in the proper /clockworkmod/backup folder. Problem is, clockwork mod touch isn't detecting that I have any backups to restore. So I decided to make a fresh backup just to see where it was placed so I could put this other backup I downloaded in there.
Problem. I can't find it anywhere. I don't know where to put it. I don't know where clockworkmod touch wants it to go. Any ideas?
EDIT: Apparently there are two of these folders? *looking more*
EDIT 2: Clearly, If I try to restore from the saved backups, it shows the backup I made, but no amount of searching is finding it through any of my file managers. I'm finding the backup I downloaded, but not the one I made. wtf? Are there hidden folders or something? I have root access.
EDIT 3: There are apparently two clockwork mod folders on my phone. Clockwork mod is saying that it sees the test backup I made on 6-10, but when I check in my file manager for a backup, it shows me the folder with a 4-26 backup which is what I want to restore. The FILE MANAGER sees a folder with 4-26, whereas clockworkmod sees a folder with a backup of 6-10. Both folders are apparently clockworkmod/backup. Does anyone have any idea what's going on here?
So I just flashed the stock rom, reinstalled the stock rescue image, and relocked my bootloader.
How long does it take for me to be able to get the 4.2 update?

Custom Rom Compatible With Htc One?

Looking for a compatible rom for an htc one m7wls (sprint) running twrp 2.6.3 I have tried several and cant seem to find any that are compatible. Unless you are S-Off (not just HTC Dev unlocked) then you will need to fastboot flash the boot.img in fastboot mode as well. Any of those roms should work fine if installed correctly. Just make sure that you have the appropriate firmware installed as well to make sure that the touch and other functions work properly. This means if you're original stock system was 4.2.2 and you are installing a 4.3 or 4.4.2 rom (at least Sense based) then you will need to install the firmware package as well for that update. How you install that depends on S-Off or HTC Dev unlocked, I believe.

Weird that that one isn't working, but just shoot for a regular Sprint based custom rom like Bad Boyz and you should be fine. What was your previous firmware/OS before you wiped it? Which baseband are you using? Which version of the rom are you trying to use now? What recovery are you using? What happens when you try to make a call or text - error code or message? But either way, if you load a regular or custom Sprint based rom and update your PRL and Profile, then you should be fine to switch back to another rom, if wanted. This is why it's always good to both make a nandroid, and to save it in a save space, if needed, for times like this.

You are correct about adb pushing the zip to internal, flashing, then fastboot flashing the boot.img to finish. I can't make a suggestion of which rom to use without knowing what you were using before though so everything will match up and work properly (firmware, baseband, OS, etc).

Might need to do another factory reset. But I've already said repeatedly that it is important to know what the original firmware / software was on the phone before it started having issues and its because of troubleshooting issues like this as well as it is just important on most HTC phones to have these things matching properly between the firmware and OS as well as the radio.

Then it is recommended to run the newest RUU to make sure your partitions, OS, radio, and firmware are all properly matched. Once that happens, you can just fastboot flash a recovery back and then redo whatever 4.4 rom you want at that stage. Yea, it sucks to have to do the extra steps, but some things you just have to do to make sure everything works properly. It never pays to cut corners when you need your phone to function correctly.
