Painted BA's paint peel area with Smokey Black

This is how it looks like after being paint.
Sorry i took the whole process on how to do it but accidentally deleted the whole folder from my digicam so i only post how it looks like after its being spray painted.
steps ->
1) Buy a spray paint of your choice (buy a model spray for toys its better)(i regreted buying decoration spray)
2) Disassemble the BA, guide could be found on BA's wiki.
3) To dismantle the sliding plates, just pull out the 2 white studs seen on both lower end of the slides. Then slide the upper plate out leaving the plate with keyboard only.
4) Strip the keyboard from the plate, the keyboard is sticked to the plate by some tape. Becareful, dont rip the keyboard ribbon.
5) Use light duty tape to cover the area which u dont want to get it painted. Example-> slider area, connectors, teflon(for smooth slides, got a couple of white ones and few black ones.)
6) Spray the plate slowly around 4 times, each very thin coat. (Leaving to dry 10mins every intervals. For total dry, leave for 2 hours)
7) Assemble the BA together again.
There u go.. arh.. i wish i had not delete the pics.. DAMN~ my effort all gone.. sorry again for no pics.
Looks nice ! Great work.
A few questions: did you applied any varnish ? why is the keyboard (not the keys itself) not painted ? Your choice or not possible ?

I did not apply varnish, my main concern is not to damage the material (sometimes varnish is nasty). The Keyboard is a whole with the key, its like a full piece of plastic when you ripped them out, i guess it looks ugly if you painted the keyboard.. lol.. so i decided to leave the keyboard a whole to contrast the smokey black at the background.
BTW : i try to paint my O2 mini, i put some stars stickers on the casing be4 painting and peel them off after that.. it looks damn great!!

Nice job i love the design on that black testure on aluminium? whats that I want it!!!
BTW check my thread nice Tutorial for this is there.
Chjeck my signature on !PIMP My BlueAngel!
I was thinking the same thing about doing an paint job on it. Really would love an other cover color for my BA.
Not that it looks bad, because there's not a single scratch on it.
But, well you know, the style is kind of getting old.
Just a flat and black/dark gray look would be nice.
May some of that black rubber paint would do the trick. Gonna check that out and let you know.
im so glad mine is a o2 blue angel cos its a really dark grey and black
p.s. felt tip DOES NOT WORK- just gets your hands smudgy lol
These O2 covers are still availiable for sale. Google it. Prices vary from 20€ TO 50€ for an complete makeover.
wooow, Nice

[Q] Want the black one now

does anyone know where to buy the black casing.
I brought the white one and think the black one looks sooo much better.
plus the i cant see the keys properly because the backlight makes the letters look white and ive also heard that the black one has a back cover that feels rubbery.
ive googled but it always comes up with the x10 mini pro
I ordered the black one and they accidently sent me the white one. I'd thought about keeping it and looking for a black cover for it, but when I saw the problem with the backlighting on the keys, that was a deal breaker for me. Sent the white one back, waiting for the black one to get here.

I have been using the white one for about 2 months now. Love it. Yes the white keys have a problem if you need to read the printing on it due to glare, but much like a keyboard you get used to it and not really look at the keyboard while typing. The black one has a rubbery back, which is great for non-slip, but I have a similar texture mouse and it collects dust very quickly and become somewhat dirty grey. Thoughts?
The vendor that sold me the white one didn't have a black one to exchange for it, so I got a refund and ordered from someone else. I'm currently using the x10 mini pro and I like the rubberized back, but they've re-arranged some of the keys on the new one. Also, I work on cars for a living, so the white one wouldn't stay white for very long anyway. It is a nice looking phone, though.
I have the black one. My girlfriend the white one.
The black does attract some dust which you can see. But dirt isn't visible. Could be on there but it's black so nothing visible. For me the white one would be a real issue with dirt.
I noticed the key backlight issue with the white one also.
I'd like to geat a workshop manual and a new keyboard, rip the sucker apart and replace the white keyboard with the black one... that'd fix the glare issue once and for all... The white one looks heaps better than the black one in any case...
I searched for various combinations that would allow me to make a sort of frankenphone that would have a pink battery door, white case and black keyboard keys.
Unfortunately, no one has all the necessary parts listed online.
I guess I'll get the black SK17a and keep things simple for now.
Has anyone checked with a Sony service center? I might try to find something in Canada if I have a bit of time...
I've found battery covers online, because I was thinking of sanding mine. This is so that paint will stick better so that I can have something a little different
search for sk17 or sk17i
I know where you can order the keyboard :
skalshop.se/sonyericsson-xperia-mini-pro-sk17i/344/344/1
The site is not in English and I want to try and order the black keyboard.
I've taken my Sk17i apart to replace the screen and could not figure out how to get the keyboard seperated from the frame....
I have just got a white Xperia Mini Pro, coming from a Black X10 Mini I also miss the rubber feeling of the black cover, anyway I like the white one.
In order to personalize it I have just got a GelaSkin cover! is like a printed film that sticks to the phone, i think is better than a new cover, it protects the phone, looks like it gives a better grip (will check soon) and looks great!
So I'll try to update some pictures when i get it.

[Q] Dropped White S2, chipped silver edge, replacement?

Hi Guys,
Dropped my White S2 (on my drunken stroll home - dropped it whilst removing it from its protective pouch!!!) just before Christmas and taken 3 or 4 chips out of the silver edge, it has been an eyesore for me ever since, my once beautiful phone is now ugly! Most people say it is hardly noticeable but I know its there!
I've repaired phone screens before, desoldered chips, fixed DVD drive lasers etc so I am fairly competent with electronics and circuitry.
After looking at several guides (all of Black S2s), from what I can tell from pictures, the silver part is part of the main housing? Bit of a bummer but can someone confirm this who has taken one apart?
Is it fixed/glued to the screen part?
On eBay you can buy the complete housing for around $10usd including the battery door. I believe the silver bezel is part of / attached to the front housing.
The item shown is black but I'm sure they would have white as well.

you cannot replace the silver bezel without removing the screen which will get damaged if you tried.
If you want to change the bezel then u would have to replace the screen too
A nice idea,if you wouldn't mind your phone being a couple millimeters wider and a few grams heavier is to get a bumper.Especially some metallic(mostly aluminum) ones are quite cool.I now use Case-mate POP case, but have set my eyes on getting the Taurus aluminum bumper,as I too have a slight hit on the silver bezel.
Although I have to admit, with the Taurus in particular, the phone looks like Robocop to be honest. There are others too though and there is also a thread in the Accessories section.
Ahh that sucks! I've seen official replacement screens for around £60, may have to do it that way!

Chipped paint

Hey all,
I currently have the white SGS2 which I completely love. I don't like using a case due to the size and so far other than one tiny scratch on the screen I've only ran into one problem. The chrome colored border on the front face of the phone is chipping in all four corners. Wondering if anyone knows and good ways to touch this up? It could be as simple as model paint or something, I don't know. Just wanted to ask any advice you guys would have for a problem like this, want to keep it looking sharp. Any opinions welcome, sorry for the odd question. Thanks!
Probs work out cheaper to buy a new shell then it would to prep, prime and paint.
use a black marker ,it makes the chipped paint hardly visible.i think its the best if u dont use a case ...but still for some protection use a tansparent gel case..ur device is white so its very thin case an ull enjoy ur white color too....

[Q] Back cover material ?

Is the back cover of Alpha = the same material on Galaxy S5 ?
If yes, then I'll probably take white out of equation
and order black or gold.
I have a related question regarding the different colours:
I could put my hands on the silver version, whose back really feels metallic despite being plastic, and also the black version, which felt more rubberised and could help for the grip; Does anyone know how is the blue one compared to these 2?
Thanks
