Can someone with facebook with english menus help me get this file?
Method A:
- Go to the \Program Files\Facebook folder and copy the "facebook.exe.0409.mui"
Method B:
- Go to the \Windows folder and copy the "facebook.exe.0409.mui"
-pls upload it here...
In my ROM the language files have been deleted from the "Program Files\Facebook folder" and I do not have the 0409 english version anywhere.
When I run the application all the menus are in spanish...

I am a junior member. However, when I encounter the trouble similar to you,I can reinstall facebook from market place, I can taken out it from extrom.bin, and I can taken out if from OEM driver raffyvitto's kitchen. I think that it is you who trifling trouble cannot be solved oneself, and make the board only garbage.

I've got an XDAII and I want to be able to see / edit the extended rom...
I've found the cab files I need (elsewhere in this forum) but I have no idea whatsoever how to use them?!?!
I can't run them, so there must be either an app I need or somewhere I need to put them, right?

Have you transfeered the cab file to your phone and executed from there?
It's a cab file. You put it on the XDA II in a folder of your choice, then run it, after reboot you will find a new icon in Programs. The rest is simple. :wink:

After I downloaded the .cab, as I have WinRar I thought that it was something that needed extracting and it didn't!

ever since wm6.1 came my cedit shows funny fonts if i open any xml file on my mobile to edit may be its due to fonts ,cedit uses something like single pitched fonts as it says so i have 2 options left
1st > ask you people for xml editor other than cedit.
or 2nd > may switch back to font type which wm5 and gullum VII versions used (that is if fonts hav't changed ever since then cedit won't give any problem.)

Of course - I am very sorry for wasting your time and have edited my posting.
well i found that about 2mb of fonts have been removed from nvid so , clean editions only have tahoma and tahomabd ,therefore i copied those fonts extracted from nvid and cedit works now ,actually you need courier new or cmbr font probably here below are all fonts.

in the rar i gave courier is shown to be 180kb and can directly be copied to dumprom dump folder for neokit users just need to refresh packages,but i gave all of them (15 files in total i guess)since i think "mtsorts" and "symbolmt" fonts are important too ,for cedit only courier new in this rar solves the problem that is 180Kb .
ps. cour.ttf might be hidden so you need to disable do not show hidden files to see it.

The actual program is for WM5.0 but I'm running a ROM w/ WM6.5 and it's nooooo problem! Just click the link above and it'll take you to the Save File dialog for the .cab file ^_^ Quick and utterly painless. Only thing I did was go in w/ Total Commander, find an .xml file, go to Properties then associated .xml files w/ the program's .exe =D Might have autoassociated if I opened up the file first but I had previously associated Word Mobile in some attempt to rig up the opening of the file =]
Think you're supposed to buy it but you have 14 days to tinker w/ it. I may see if I can just uninstall/reinstall and see if that clears it. Likely wont but may can find a reg setting for it =] I dont know how much it costs (didn't check that far lol) but I might be very likely to buy it if it doesnt cost very much. It's awfully handy either way!

Why didn't you try the build-in file editor from the Total Commander?
for simple editing and save /save as.... OK ( as I use it for .txt .xml editing)

I need some help in following things:
- removing GoogleMaps
I removed the GoogleMaps Folders in OEM. Also I edited a .provxml file which contained an entry for the tf3d program. When I flash the new rom I get an error message which tells me that couldn't be installed. Did I forget anything to delete or to edit?
- removing .netcf 2.5 and installing .netcf3.5 instead
I hope a kind person can give me some tips.

About GoogleMap, take a look at ConfigAP inside OEM, and edit the Config_AP.txt
For .NET you only need to delete the NetCF package inside SYS and put the new one 3.5 version.

About the ceipui.exe, the erros you see are related to mxip_notify.vol. This file contains the notifications queue. Try to subst the default one with the attached one (without ceipui.exe notification)...
For adding programs, search here for OEM packages with lot of apps ready to use

To make OEM packages you can convert CAB files to OEM, there are many suggestions on the Wiki for doings this. One example is the cab2oem progam from the Kaiser world here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=422942
Or
You can just download the OEM package if someone else has uploaded it.

to change the Windows animation you can find it inside a file called shellres.dll open it with a reshacker or PExplorer
to change the Windows media lnk just go to the media folder in sys and check for the RGU that has the lnks adress or make a shortcut in your functional rom to the place you want it... the go to that folder... and rewrite the existent lnk oh!
and delete its extension.

Sorry but I'm a Newbie and trying to navigate the site.
Having great difficulty (its so large & packed full of goodies.
Already an issue.
Acquired a TyTn/Hermes (UK Orange SPV M3100) and find that the Microphone does not work during calls.
It will work when Recording Notes.
The headset works OK for calls and Notes.
Recently the Microphone started working fine for 5 mins with calls and then would not work.
Is this a common problem ?
Can it be fixed Software wise.
Is it better to use a MicroSD Card to flash a new ROM
Is it better to use the HTC ROM first.
What is the best (Stable) WM version WM6.0, 6.1 or 6.5?
And what about TouchFlo.
Can I get that installed as well ?

No, after I modify this file with Restorator and rebuild ROM I didn't see any changes, because you need to modify file S000 in folder of Shellres.XXXX.mui which, I think, is clone of Shellres.XXXX.mui... I can modify it ONLY with HEX editor, but it is very difficult, and more easy to edit file Shellres.XXXX.mui with resource editor.
Maybe somebody know tool to convert Shellres.XXXX.mui to S00* files?

Can you write exactly path to this file, because I tried to open some file called shellres.dll, but I didn't see any waiting animation in it to replace with my one...

I didn't understand you... RGU files only contain reg links, not files... File links, as I know, exist in initflashfiles.txt...

Not the folder man! the mui is already tranfomed into module... by that folder and its S000X files! search for the mui file! in your oem packages
When i get home i can provide you the path... but... wich app did you use to open it? open all the ress dlls maybe one of those is the good one. is in the oem folders.
Well so do the shortcut trick i told you then... or try editong the initflash files in lang XXX folder in your oem packages.

Yes you can PM me just click on my username and sent private messages... BTW hope you are HARD SPLED FIRST before you try to upgrade... once you can find the important threads to unlock your phone everything goes fine in WIndows mobile 6 subforum for hermes tytn.
Ok, I rooted and remapped the keyboard, and ti works fine, however, in order to get rid of the ugly language bar in landscape mode, I unchecked "default input settings" in the settings and.... they keyboard started acting as finnish/swedish again! When I checked "default input settings" - it reverted to normal. Is there any other file to edit?

to get that replaced by the english layout you have to copy the qwerty-en.kcm.bin file from the /system/usr/keychars/mimmi/keyprints folder up into the /system/usr/keychars folder and save it as the qwerty.kcm.bin file.
i have read this somewhere on the x10 forum. i can't find the topic at the moment.
as i mentioned in another thread, the paths are from android 1.6. they might be different on 2.1.

i don't know lunux as well, but i use root explorer. just change the properties(rw) and mount first b4 u edit the file. after u edit and save, reopen the file to verify that the changes were saved b4 u reboot.

You didn´t understand. This is easy, and everyobody does it. The problems start when you untick the default entry method in keyboard properties. Read carefully first post.

I downgraded to 1.6 German and will wait for official release. Having a Swedish layout on a German keyboard using English for typing is too much for my poor brains. Meanwhile since you ar on 2.1 can you check the idea below?

I strongly suspect that this file will be the same in 1.6 . So what I will try to do - save this file from a german version of 1.6, flash nordic, and install the file from german version.

He could get it only from UK generic 1.6, as I got my german layout from DE generic 1.6
Did you test it as well on 2.1?

On the other note - I see here people of all nations, from all corners of the world rapidly and efficiently working together and solving all kinds of problems and I ask myself why it doesn´t happen offline in the real life. Makes me really sad.
