I have a Siemens SX56 with Pocket PC phone edition 2002..... Have Special Edition Rom 1.2 installed on it.... Guess it has ver. 3.17.03 base rom version..... PPC phone devices use outlook to send/receive sms messages......
My question is this...... when you write a new sms or reply to an sms, there is no character count.... how do you know when the first sms string is done (i.e., you've written 160 characters)??
Is there some kind of plug-in you can install that adds a character count to your message? Any kind of help will be appreciated. Thank you.

so here's the actual program its self with update

What is a good ringtone prog out there, Ive DL several trials.. but they all seem rinkydink ... any suggestions, Id like to assign ringtones to diff callers..

I'm not sure if this is a feature of WM6 or PocketCM but on my TyTN I have WM6 installed and am using PocketCM and noticed when I edit a contact there is a field for ring tone. This will allow you to set a ringtone for specific contacts. Hope this helps.

does anyone know how to disable the SMS Chat in the S740?
I tried to install Smiley SMS and than using a registry Editor to switch it off...but didn't work.
Wud be gratefull for a solution - as I defenitely prefer the "old" SMS!

I found this tweak for the Diamond/Touch Pro but didn't try it. I would assume it to work on the S740 as well.
To disable threaded txt (1st thing I always do!) takes a reg edit
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings\OEM\
Under the registry key, create a new DWORD value with value name as SMSInboxThreadingDisabled and set it value data to 1
