Zoom Bar with Opera - TG01 General

I like using the zoom bar for internet browsing, but internet explorer seriously sucks, so is there a way to use the zoom bar with opera?

but...
which opera mobile build are you using?

I'm also wanted to use zoom function from free pad bar. I'm with Opera mobile 10 which zoom level is pre-determined in option so I just wonder that it will work as we think or not.

mabey some code needs to be changed for the htc build of opera , devices like htc touch diamond 2 have zoombar which works in opera

I have a touch.diamond 2 and it doesnt work in Opera 10, only the HTC version of 9. I too would like the ability to use the ZB in 10, it looks cool and is nice for photos..

Anyway to turn off fullscreen browsing?

I like being able to look at my taskbar when browsing. Anyway to turn off fullscreen browsing?
With you on that one there! Love the fact you get maximum webpage space but just a little bar at the top would be nice, also would enable you to check and respond to notifications without closing the page.
I would like to know if there is a way too ...
anyone figure out a way?
I don't think there is a way to do it with the built in browser which is a bit rubbish really.
An alternative would be to get another browser such as Steel off of the Market but it doesn't feel polished enough to replace the default one to me. Hopefully Opera Mobile is nice when that arrives

What dont you like about the built in one that Opera does better?
I want to see the notification bar as well. I would love to see what's going on on my device while I'm browsing. Now I am forced to close the browser first.
I just tried Steel, but I really miss the multitouch zoom. I'm afraid I'll have to stick with the built-in browser.
I want this too! If only to see my reception / H / E /wifi logo etc just to know how I am connected! Oh and the time
Could someone post an apk with Android's default browser? Maybe if we ask in another sub-forum?

What is the best browser to use

I'm looking for the best browser to use for the Hero. I don't like the default browser and I installed Opera and I don't like how I have to use the wheel. I would much rather have a browser that allows me to use the touch screen completely.
xScope is pretty sweet Give that a shot
Thanks! It looks great. I notice the zooming is a bit slow though from what I'm used to on an iPhone.
I tried the default browser, Opera 5 beta and Dolphin. All 3 are free.Opera is faster than the default and some some extra nice features.Dolphin is faster than Opera and has lot of cool features and settings. One of the best is multitabs! So from me go Dolphin

HTC Browser?

Hi guys,
I do have the SGS2 since last week and I think it is a very good device. However, I am coming from a HTC Desire and I got used to some things, which I cannot find on the SGS2:
a) the browser: There is no text-reflow on pinch2zoom and the double-tap is sometimes not zooming enough and I hate to scroll text horizontally. Is there any alternative browser that can reflow text on p2z or even better any chance to get the HTC Browser somehow running
b) the dialer screen on HTC had a very nice and big contact picture and the contacts were shown very well in the phone-book app. With the SGS 2 the pictures (especially the ones synchronized with Facebook) are not shown properly - they look very blurred, are small and the aspect-ratio is wrong.
Any ideas how to improve this?
Regards and thanks!
i think blurring is due to the amoled resolution issue, the screen is big but dpi is not enough, or there might be software issue using 16bit color not 32bit color
16bit vs 24bit colour wouldn't cause blur. I rather suspect face book is the prob.
Maybe grab an image through web browser and assign manually to test

In the stock browser, go to Menu -> More -> Settings and check "Auto-fit pages". This will make double-tap zoom and reflow to much more readable levels. Having this setting checked is standard on most phones, for some unknown reason Samsung decided to change that.
If you want to try an alternative browser, Dolphin HD is excellent (and a much nicer visual design is in the works, coming with the next release): https://market.android.com/details?id=mobi.mgeek.TunnyBrowser&feature=search_result
wow, this was really helpful. Now just a different dialer or getting syncmypix working, then I would use GoContacts!
opera mobile supports text reflow.

[Q] Browser: Change default zoom?

Posted in another forum with no luck. Default browser text is too small for my eyes although I realize it is not issue for most. Pinching and zooming is real pain. On almost all android browsers and all windows 7 browsers, you can change the default zoom but I can't find a way on touchpad and desperately need this for browser to be useable for me. There are some hacks I am aware of to change the default text size and it works for many mobile web pages but not most full desktop pages that set their own text size. Hence I need to change the default zoom not the default text. Surely this can't be that hard and would be extremely grateful if someone would help even if they don't perceive the issue of default zoom as a problem for them. Thanks in advance!

I don't have one [yet] to test, but I think I saw in a video you can double tap on text to zoom in a bit. This should be easier than pinch and zoom.
does work sometimes but very inconsistent. Still wish I could just change the default zoom but have posted in several forums and no respons

Google Chrome vs Dolphin Browser HD

Which one is better? Share your opinions.
Everyone talks about Google Chrome. But, I like Dolphin Browser HD because of its add-on support. All bookmarks and Add-ons are one swipe away. And, there's an add-on for quick desktop toggle, too. Worth mentioning that it supports advanced gesture and voice commands!
for me is better dolphin because google chrome is awful with the battery and my battery does not last long.
The new Dolphin HD is super fast if you are on ics.
For now Dolphin Browser HD is the best browser than any other present in the playstore.
Google Chrome is still in the beta state and not available for most countries.
So Dolphin Browser HD wins for now !

Google Chrome is out of beta as announced in Google I/O 2012.
I'll be the first to say I prefer chrome. It's much smoother ever since it got out of beta, I love how opened tabs and all your bookmarks are synced from phone to laptop and visa versa, I love the way tabs are handled the same way as tasks are. Swipe them left or right and they disappear. And also awesome is that you can switch between tabs by sliding from the left or right edges of your screen and into the middle. I guess you can say I'm a huge fan of tab management on chrome

Open tabs sync between phone and laptop is really a nice feature of Chrome which Dolphin users are jealous of.
When it comes to tab switching, I can use volume keys in Dolphin. But yes, managing a large number of tabs is a pain in Dolphin.
Dolphin Browser HD is the best browser with lots of features like multiple tab & Add-ons option like desktop Firefox browser. Dolphin Browser is the world's first Gesture, Sonar & Add-on enabled mobile web browser on Android.
Dolphin HD is good but with recent versions [on ICS] having more than 5 tabs open leads to a force close each and every time. Earlier versions didn't have that problem but I'd rather deal with that than Chrome. The add-ons support tho >>>
Dolphin HD has flash support, allows custom user agents and doesn't require ICS. On my GB Droid 3 its my default browser and I've been satisfied with it. If you have ICS or JB the default browser is much improved, I believe it uses a Chrome/webkit derived rendering engine anyways. It has flash and allows a desktop user agent.
What about the current versions on ics
No flash sets Chrome back for me even tho I use it as my main browser.

The standard ICS browser is, in my opinion, faster than any browser out there..
I use Dolphin HD on my tablet, but chrome on my phone... I personally like more Chrome, but on the tablet the Dolphin experience is a bit better.
I think stock ics browser is best out there.

I use Dolphin because it smoother, Chrome lags surprisingly much. Also Dolphin changes the layout of text when I zoom so I don't have to scroll sideways all the time

In dolphin you can't easily switch between tabs nor you can close tab easily.

I just hate the way it handles zooming. Chrome seems much better at that but more clunky with other things.
I keep going back and forth...

What? You click the open tab to close it. Is that hard? Switching is done by clicking it. That's one click, It's two clicks in chrome or the swipe thingy ( that one is actually really nice, I miss it a bit, but you can't say It's hard in dolphin). You can also assign gestures to switching tabs, but I haven't really found gestures that convenient.

I still use Dolphin, Chrome lags but also won't let me push that URL bar off the top for full screen browsing. Seriously, these devices all use 16:9/10 ratios, and the bottom of the screen on a tablet is already taken up by the taskbar, so Chrome has you almost "peering through a letterbox" at websites.
