2.2 - Droid Eris General

Have been reading a few articles about 2.2 today.
any word as to a ROM for the eris?

I don't think anyone has even seen a features list yet for froyo..

Yeah, nobody HAS Froyo yet. Its hard to port something that doesn't exist yet

Is Froyo Available For The Eris?

Thanks,
Adam

[Q] what's the deal with flash?

I don't normally ask questions unless I really have to, I'm pretty good and looking up the answers myself, but I can't seem to find this one. (maybe because searching for "flash" in a forum about "flashing" roms every other post isn't exactly limited selections )
so anyway, flash. as in Adobe. What's wrong with it for the eris on froyo builds? like, what is holding the devs back on getting it working
(note: this is not a "devs r teh stooped" post, I'm not trying to insult the devs in any way. I have huge respect for them, and I know they are working hard to overcome the problem, I just want to know what that problem is just out of curiosity)
it's so hard to ask a damn question on here in fear of just getting pages of "have you heard of google?" and "if you dont like the devs, you do it!" posts...
Have you heard of Google... Lmao jk! That's a great question! I believe that flash 10.1 only works on 2.1 sense ROMS.. not perfectly may I add. The reason its not up in running on Eris froyo builds (and pls anyone correct me if im wrong) is cause their using modded 2.1 kernals, thus only replicating froyo, so there's a lot of kinks still. I Kay be wrong tho, so don't quote lol

I think Flash is only available to phones with a 1Hz SnapDragon proccessor and Froyo, but someone hacked up a version to work for us (its somewhere in the Eris Android Development section) but I heard it was slow, most likely due to our processors though.
Edit: forgot to mention that it is on available to Sense based roms because it somehow works in conjuction or replaces? our HTC Flash lite which is already included in said roms

Yup, in works in conjunction with flash light. I take back what I said about it not working well tho, cause yesterday I watched a full episode of family guy on a tv website with a tube style video player, and it worked rather well being oc'ed to 710mhz

It's not that the Eris is too weak at all it's just that we've only JUST gotten froyo. The reason we could get flash working at all on our 2.1 roms is because HTC did half the work for us with the lite flash built in.

[Q] Original Froyo ROM

Ok...so I have been following just about every forum regarding the release of Froyo for the Samsung Vibrant. I understand that it has been released slowing all throughout the world. What the fire is going on with the release for the US?!
Does anyone know when this will be out? When it comes out is someone going to post it so we can just download the legit ROM version of Froyo, instead of having to download all the modified versions that have bugs galore? Seriously is it that hard for Samsung/Tmobile to take care of Vibrant users?

the froyo that is being slowly released isnt for the vibrant it is for the I9000 but if u really want fryoy a majoruty of the bugs have been worked out in masters froyo rom but one thing u will find with all froyo roms is that it doesnt have gps because the drivers for gps are missing
Can't we just flash I9000 Froyo to Vibrant? Is there any major hardware difference?
Well that sucks...so when is the REAL Froyo going to be released for our US Vibrants?! I've seen Masters stuff...but to not have GPS working and the battery drain was keeping me from switching. I think there are still issues with data connection and contact syncing with facebook icons.
from what I have heard at work (I work for Deutsche Telekom) Froyo for our Vibrant is supposed to start rolling out middle of this month, however the rollout of the JI6 update has been extended because it is taking longer to send out ota than originally thought. We will have everyone updated to official froyo by the end of the year, but it should start to roll out in a week or two.

how hard to fix it? Fix it for what function? Thanks
where is the fake froyo? wonder how one is real and one is fake.
Go under vibrant android and development you will find froyo roms. But they aren't "fake" they are simply roms that have been ported over to our vibrants. The only thing is 1. If you flash a froyo rom it will wipe your internal memory card and 2. and drivers for gps arg there therefore we don't have gps. 3. from what I have heard team whiskey/bionix is cooking up a 2.2 rom and I think they found a way to port the drivers over to our vibrant. so just sit tight and wait for that or just backup your internal memory card then flash a froyo rom

Any plans for Vanilla Android 2.2 or 2.3 ROMS?

First off, I am extremely sorry if this question has been asked before regarding the Thunderbolt. I searched these forums for a good hour and couldn't find anything related to the subject.
I was just curious now that HTC has released the source kernal, are there any developers out there planning on porting stock, vanilla Froyo or Gingerbread to the Thunderbolt? If so, let us know in this thread!
Maybe we can make this a hub for all related Vanilla Android TBolt activity.
Thanks in advance.

CM is working on a 2.3 rom and their roms are pretty stock android
I don't think I've heard of any pure vanilla AOSP ROMs but, for example, CM7 based on Gingerbread. No sense mess. I figure that's what you're after.
EDIT:ckochinsky125 beat me by a minute....

Bamf

I little while ago I flashed the BAMF-GingerREMIX-v2.0-Beta6 with the Darkhorse theme but it's been like a month or two since I did that and I was curious if there is an update to this ROM because I didn't see anything in the development forums on Thunderbolt and I expected to see a number of the latest BAMF updates but I see a CM7 and a bunch of others that I never seen before. Anyone point me to the right link or know anything about this? thanks!

They have their own site/forum and updates there. Don't have a link, but google for bamf forum or something like that and it should turn up.
I found the site and forums about their ROMS but nothing speaks anywhere that I could see to weather specific roms will work with the thunderbolt or not where as in these forums I know they are meant to work on the Thunderbolt. I just don't want to DL a rom from there and find out, oh CRAP this was meant for an Atrix, not a Thunderbotl and now I've bricked my phone!

If you are in the thunderbolt/roms section then they are for thunderbolt, the only other roms are for the incredible. They are working on a DX2 Rom but they don't have a section for it yet.
