Howdy all!
Has anyone noticed that the "Double Tap Home" button resets itself? I changed mine to be the dialer, and after a few days it resets to Voice Dial.
I'm curious if anyone has run into it and possibly solved this problem.
Are you running a custom ROM or Motorola firmware?

although I never got anywhere. After a while I think it stuck. I have no idea what caused it to revert back...

That could be the reason. Have you tried custom ROMS instead? If you need help with the boot loader unlocking, rooting process, let me know because I can help.

I haven't ventured into the realm of custom ROMs yet. Definitely an area that I want to get into (I was an avid blackberry beta tester before I jumped ship).
Can you answer a few questions perhaps?
1. Will flashing a new ROM cause me to lose all my user data?
2. What ROM do you recommend? I actually like the look of the stock .91 ROM, and I use ADW Launcher. I'm not really into the CG7 look with everything being bluish. I guess with ROMs, I just don't have a good enough understanding.
For the first question, yes you will lose stock data. But if you have gmail, contacts, paid apps, and calendar will be saved. But its totally worth it. The rom I recommend right now is the ALIEN ROM. Which is a nice one. If you want to to start, let me know and I will give you a guide that helped me.

Maybe I misunderstood, but I am already rooted and unlocked.
I thought what you were going to provide was the latest ALIEN rom link and screenshots (as well as the way to apply the rom - fastboot, cwm, etc.)

Double-tap home got too annoying for me.
I ended up freezing the default voice command feature in TiBu, and don't have to worry about it anymore...

Ok! Well, all that was easier than I thought. This is amazingly fast. So far I haven't found any glitches, everything works the same for me. I've rebooted several times and the home button hasn't reset, so thats a good sign.
One thing I did notice is that I now only have one APN listed, and I think before I had several.
I didn't install the bloatware, but BLUR seems to work fine.
One thing I will say is that installing 200 apps by hand from the market SUCKED. I used a Titanium Backup and then used the market link from there.
Also thought that I should mention that this did *NOT* fix my "double tap" home button issue.
After some amount of time the home button defaults to voice commands, which is useless to me. Taking another suggestion above and freezing the app with TiBackupPro.
Oh well. Maybe Beta #4 will fix the issue.

Can someone please point me towards a known good working ICS GAPPS file?
I have downloaded a few different ones but none seem to work (wont sync etc) and I'm really pulling my hair out now trying to find a working one!
By the time anyone answers this i will be on CM9 A0.5.

I'm also using this one. It works well.
look for "signed_GAPPS-IML74K-010112". This works on fresh install. Proven by me since I just finished flash it a few hours ago and everything gapps related works.

Can't find the link but I used one meant for the Xoom, works perfectly.
My calendar looks like it's sync'd on my TP - I don't use it much but it does have my Geek Holidays and other things I've added to my calendar
Has anyone else been having issues with PowerAMP on ICS? Getting the error "cannot validate purchase" constantly, the app is totally useless. Wondering if this is an ICS compatibilty issue or if this is a Google Market issue. If you have input please post it here because I'm contacting the developers and aren't getting a response.

It's worked perfectly for me on ICS but I had the same problem on GB. What I did was cleared the data, uninstalled the app and the unlocker, restarted the phone, downloaded the trial and booted it, then I downloaded the unlocker and ran it. Problem solved.
I ran into the issue when trying a new ROM usually. Anyways, hope it helps!

Hi. Ive got a Galaxy S3 GT-I9300.
A few Weeks ago i did a simple restart of my phone, after that the Messenging system stoped working, standard keyboard aint working either. Atm im using different keyboard and messenging app, but i prefer teh standard ones and wants to use it instead.
I also havn't got the Jelly bean update, my mom got jelly bean a long time ago but i still havn't recieved any update.
I contacted samsung and they told me to turn it in for reperation since it seems like my phone is bugged.
I don't feel like send in my phone and get it back in a month, so i wonder if theres something i could do myself to fix this problem.
Please send me a pm if you have any ideas.

Hi,
I've installed speedrom on my HTC Amaze, all works great and speedy except I'm finding I am unable to set up my corporate email, although I could with the stock ics rom (with same sim). It is not credentials, domain setting etc, I've done it a million times for different phones, including this one before I flashed it. Gmail set up ok. Is there something perhaps that is being rejected by the exchange server, that it doesn't like about using a custom rom? Has anyone else had success setting up their work email using speedrom? Any suggestions on remedies? I'm really enjoying this rom otherwise. I just hope I can get this fixed, been trying a couple days, must have entered it a dozen times. It times out after a minute on "checking incoming server settings" with the message "can't connect to server", although the server address is correct.

hi guys,
first of all sorry for my noobness as i am a total noob......
i recently flashed speed rom 9.0 beta on my amaze,before this i was on speed rom 8.0...
the prob is that i did not like much 9.0 camera, i want to flash 8.0 camera on my current rom and didnt know how...
so if anyone could tell me that if it can be flashed...and if it is, then how?
