ok hello to all, i jus found this section of the xda site and its was and is the best idea because i wanted to create and upload my own rom for ppl to flash and talk about too but had no where to start. now i have the g1 android ( still the best android to me ) and im gonna create me a rom.
shout out's: The O.G. Homies at XDA, Renn420, Cyanogen, Super D guy, kingklick, and all the rest...lol u kno.
now to get started. goto theunlockr(dot)com and click on the " choose a section drop down bar. then choose htc g1/ howto... and then when the g1 page pops up scroll around and search for " how to create your own custom rom for android part 1 " follow all steps which are found under the video.
now this guy theunlockr does this shyt sooo simple and easy... so if youre having issues ( PUT THE BONG DOWN AND WATCH THE VIDEO OVER AGAIN AND TRY TO LISTEN. ONLY SAYING THIS CAUSE I HAD TO SET THE BYTCH DWN TOO.)ONCE YOUR DONE WITH PART 1 MOVE TO PART 2 VIDEO WHICH WILL SHOW YOU THE REST OF THE HOW TO.
I like this kitchen shyt so far not to mention the pc inside of my pc now. XD but have at it post any questions and if i cant get to em some one will. but do that shyt asap.
ALSO HOW DA FUCC DO I CHANGE THE WALLPAPERS WHEN IM CREATING MY OWN CUSTOM ROM. I DID A LIL RESEARCH AND I THINK THEY ARE ( .PMG FILES OR .JPG FILES ) BUT IF U KNO TELL ME HOW.

their seems to be many issues in WM6.5 and also many sugestion, pls post all the issues you face with the usage of 6.5 and also ur sugestions here. Im trying to make this a thread where all ROM chefs can come to and read about all Known issues and suggestions

i have not posted my issues and suggestions as im not very comfy with 6.5 due to the usage of honeycomb which im not confy with and i fell one should use a ROM extensively to comment on the same
]and this thread was created to help our ROM gurus to Make better ROMS so guys if u feel u have comments issues and suggestions kindly post the same here and help our ROM chiefs get more info and make better ROMS for us

Let me be the first one to post something usefull in this thread...
rite now i have flased the New wm 6.5 ROM build 21202 shared by helgee...First of all thanks to Helgee for uploading the ROM
This is more like a final product in WM 6.5 version but as usual got a few bugs in it....let me just summarise a few of them below...
1)There are multiple task manager icons ...almost 4 to 5 icons...
2)When you open contacts and scroll through the contacts its appears everything is overlapped ..ie contacts are overlapped and you cannot read them out...
I have not played with it enough to find anymore bugs in it...
the good thing is that this rom is quite fast for the last 40 mins i have been using...good that it has a better dialer which looks good...it doesnt have the honey comb ...
and in my opinion i have tried all the wm 6.5 ROM released here ...i feel ankit's 6.5 build 21l76 is the best that i have used so far.....no offense to anyone ...its just my point of view..
And ppl please stop reserving threads...start posting issues with WM 6.5 you face....Just a request...

Hi guys! will it not be better to post issues about specific rom in the thread itself.? Bcoz mixing here talking about all wm6.5 roms will b quite a mess. Like the Russian helgis rom.If he has to find some feedback he will visit this thread. Isnt that a waste of time.Also if I find a feedback or issue or request I will post in his thread.So openning another thread would mean paralysing the original thread.No excitement for rom makers.Also if they have to communicate , will they post here?.I dont think so.

Hi htc3400, I think that this bug is related to BackUp. I use PimBackup or Outlook using ActiveSync. I have this bug no.
Hi, my fren ,I wont pull ur legs .ok.Anyway keep the good work. But why is that u always flash from ur sd card, how is it actually, I mean is it more easy than flashing with active sync.?Someday u must share how to flash from sd. But I think u always find trouble flashing that way.Am I right?Thanks.have a gud day.

Ive started off easy so far. I l take one of the great ROMs here and switch out, add, delete some stuff and see if it works.
Most of the time it doesn't - but in breaking it I learn.

i was checking out reg entries in wm 6.5.3 rom where i found a animate setting which was set to 0 value changed it to 1 and softreset it.. i found a kind of animation started to appear whenever u close,open,lock or anything... i think this could be taken to next level like the zoomin/out animation...i forgot at which reg i did the changes...i will post the reg path tomorrow after finding it with a video so u can take a look....i would have done myself finding what it is for and create trick with but im just a beginner and not an expert so i thought of posting it here so some one could do some thing with it...

if your just looking for how to mod roms, rather than actually build them from source you wont need much java knowledge.

i will make it short as we're all busy i think.
i added a shortcut in my systemUI's ''recent apps'' it works well if i use it with samsung taskmanager
now i wanted to point it to ''running apps'' in settings. i dont worked. catlog says i have to add permission into sysUI's manifest.-->done. NOW, the problem is:
NOW, it says i have to declear this activity in manifest , i looked in it but the listed under several points also i have no idea wher exactly put it in and problems with some values (i dont know what to do?!?!)
so before talking useless stuff, i attached screens of catlog. also i attach the androidmanifest.xml (decompiled, zipped) so may u take a look
