This concludes the beta test of this software release... - Touch Pro CDMA

Thank you very much for your time and effort in helping make this a great product for our customers.
To obtain a newer release or further information, please revisit the web site that you used your current beta release.
I was using energy rom and i ignored the message that said: the beta will expire in 'x' days. and now the phone is unusable.
I tried to do hard reset but it won't work. it just restarts the phone and the that message appears back on the screen.
Besides crashing the phone to a brick wall at 50mph, is there any way to fix this ?
htc touch pro
sprint
windows 6.5
p.s. phone won't sync with windows mobile device center so i can't reflash the phone.

I am having the same issue as well!!! I was using a clean rom from PPCGeeks and ignored the message and now the phone is practically bricked!!! It isn't being recognized by the pc to even re-flash it!!!

found a thread on flashing the phone without active sync. worth a try
i can't post a link. even though its from xda forum. but u can search how to flash without active sync. it should come up.

Have you tried this? I will try it and post results.
But hard reset didn't work. Hard reset and changing the date, which some other site said fixed it, did not work. And i cannot re-flash without active sync regardless of rom, even if it is stock.
But i will do quick google search on flashing without active sync and see what comes up.
edit:
the only thing i found on google about flashing without active sync was flashing via memory card. This did not work for me, i followed the instructions and put the files on the card but it would never actually load the update. Maybe i am doing it wrong or something.
anyways, i have insurance on the phone, so i am going to take it in for replacement. It already had water damage on it so i will probably break the screen and make up some story about dropping it in a small puddle on cement. I had previously talked to sprint, my carrier, and they said the upgrade for my touch pro is the touch pro 2 as they no longer stock the touch pro and have been out for some time.

ya man. i have the same issue.
i followed instrucitons on flashing via storage card but the load screen never shows up. it just restarts the phone.
i also have sprint as carrier and insurance on phone. i might just go over to the sprint store and get the upgrade if it doesn't cost too much.

I had the same problem, but I was able to re-flash it. Boot to the bootloader, it's the multicolor screen, you can do that by turning the phone off, hit the power button to turn it on. Then hold down the power button & lower volume button. Once you're in the multicolor screen try flashing as usual. Sorry if i'm using wrong terminology.

Totally possible to reflash after timebomb
Hey guys, just wanted to let you know that thanks to the help from this site (PPC geeks has been down all night for some reason), I was able to reflash after the may 1st timebomb left my phone all but useless (made a handy flashlight when it was telling me my beta trial was over). EGZTHUNDER1's post forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=508084 was very helpful, and I used the sd card method, as activesync would no longer work.
Just wanted to 1) thank everyone on this board for the knowledge and 2) asuage any fears for those of you who procrastinated like me.

ok i'll tell you what worked for me.
hold the power button + vol. down key together and then using the stylus, press and hold the reset button until u see the tri color loader screen.
and then i plugged my phone in with usb . still the mobile device center won't show that there is a connection. but it doesn't matter.
just run the custom rom utility using your fav. rom and it should re-flash the phone.
thanks everyone for your help
p.s. does anyone know why ppcgeeks is down? or when will they be up again? i just found out that i could possibly get android on my touch pro. I found the thread that gives instructions on how to do that but that link points to their site...

I'm having trouble finding any CDMA compatible roms on XDA to use with my Sprint Touch Pro, so I've been forced to revert to Stock from the HTC site for now myself. Was on Raidzero's Baseline Final, which expired today. Hopefully ppcgeeks is back up tomorrow and I can flash to something less terrible. Any recommendations?

vets rom,
try vetvito's rom it's great, and it doesn't expire

Cool, I'll give it a shot. Hopefully I can find one to stick with for a while, because as fun as tinkering is, I just want a decent WinMo 6.5 Sense 2.5 rom that's stable. Raidzero's final rom was pretty much perfect for me aside from it's expiration. Though it got a bit bogged down after a few months use.

I woke up with the same message from my Energy 3/30 ROM. I reflashed again and got the same message. I forced the bootloader screen by pressing Power button / Volume Up button / Press stylus in reset hole and hold until tricolor screen came on.
I just reflashed to a newer Energy ROM / 21932 4/24. Hopefully its stable as the 3/30 build.
Anyone have a CAB file to make the Start button nice? I was using Sharkie405 CAB but the start button was in the bottom left and now its top left. Doesn't seem to work.

Dude there is a ton of them. Literally. NFS fan, Vevito, Mighty Rom, just to name a few. The question of "carrier" is obsolete. You can use ANY CDMA ROM with sprint. All you need is a carrier cab. I use cricket. It's the HARDEST one to find, yet I flash ANY ROM with no problem.
I'll make it even easier on you. http://dcd1182.n715dp.com/index.php?dir=carriers/

2 different versions of windows mobile dude. Can't use that. What exactly are you trying to do to the start button?
I can't stay on here long but go here and find what your looking for http://www.xda-developers.com/windows-mobile/control-your-windows-6-5-x-x-button/

does anyone know if the deductible for sprint replacement touch pro is still $100 ? or has that been reduced in price? or if i'll get another touch pro or tp2 ?
thanks.

Link doesn't work.
I mentioned carrier because the Sprint Touch Pro is different from other Touch Pro iterations. Mighty Rom, NFS fan's ROMs both suffering from 3/30 beta deactivation last I checked. Energy Rom got stuck in a boot loop when I flashed it yesterday. With PPCGeeks down last night, and XDA devs not really having a clear distinction between GSM and CDMA roms in their threads, it was an issue.

WRONG
I don't know where you heard that information, but it is wrong. the sprint is the same as all the rest, with the exception of the Verizon iteration, which is different then all the rest.
XDA definitely has clear distinctions to their roms, they are in different sub-Forums. try looking in Touch Pro CDMA Only CDMA stuff in there.

You don't really need to be a douche about it, but no, the Sprint Touch Pro is physically different from other models, it has a very slightly different form factor and bezel from the AT&T model (screen guards do not fit), and the hardware is worth mentioning because saying Sprint Touch Pro narrows it down quickly for people. Yes it is compatible with any CDMA ROM. Moot point, let it go. The CDMA forum (the one we're IN) has alot of posts, but mostly non-rom related, more about other issues. In fact, at this moment there is not a single ROM thread on the first page.
Anyways, PPCGeeks is back up again, found help in their TP CDMA Upgrade Forum pretty quickly. The criticism was more of a lamentation about the lack of a dedicated ROM forum or a at least tags for CDMA roms in this subforum. I'm using VetVito's rom now, based on recommendations, and happy with it aside from a lack of shortcuts for some of the system settings in the Start Menu.
edit: There's actually a thread about the lack of new roms issue: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=674029. Slim pickings as far as ROMS for the Touch Pro at XDA is the general consensus.

Yeah I just confirmed it doesn't work. Odd though. DCD has kept that site up for a while. Anyway, here is a link to the carrier files that does work. http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=51384
As far as NFS fan's being "stuck" that is just plain wrong. I have been using his rom since it came out. The second to the last release had a time bomb but that has since been fixed. If I'm not mistaken the Energy rom is no longer being developed thanks to the sorry ass TP2. Mighty Rom has no issues either other than the fact that it's "final" release is an outdated OS.
As far as the roms not being technology specific....I have never had that issue here at XDA. http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=465 starts with CDMA ONLY roms. I haven't found one NON cdma rom in the bunch. There are a LOT of dumb ass posts about stupid problems that have been addressed at least 100000000000000000000 times and it does in fact take some looking to find the roms. But I have yet to see any GSM roms.

hey guys, i had this exact same BS issue with nfsfans rom. i had to pull the battery, then boot the phone up while holding power+volume down. after it hits bootloader mode, plug it into a computer with activesync(it won't show it making a connection, but it DOES make a difference) then run the new rom flash of your choice.* NOTE: this WILL frag your data. sorry!
thats what worked for me. good luck!

Will Verizon be releasing an update?

I've searched and didn't find an answer on this so if it has been asked and answered I apologize.
Since Sprint and HTC have released a ROM update will Verizon be following suit?
My phone is a daily worker and I can't afford to spend the time with trial and error on DCD's ROM, although it is very tempting.
Thanks

I myself haven't seen any official confirmation or even hinting from VZW that they're releasing an upgrade. Sprint announced it what, back in October? I'd imagine if VZW was going to follow suit we would've heard something by now. I'm gonna check a few sites and see what I can find.
Was wondering the same thing earlier today.
I doubt it...
I asked a second level support tech that yesterday and he didn't know anything about it - but that is not a surprise to me...
Its fairly common knowledge in some circles that VZW is very secretive (or maybe they just dont let their ppl know) about this stuff.
I imagine an update is indeed in the works, but nobody you talk to at VZW will have any knowledge. Those familiar with VZW and updates also know that it will probably be some time after the other carriers have their updates out. Slow and steady must be their motto...
Why wait? Trial and error with DCD's rom? Load and go.
I'm with Sprint and can't even see myself ever running a stock ROM again.

We haven't, but there are a few little nagging issues that might be resolved by a stock ROM from Verizon w/ GPS and Rev A.
For me, anytime I run a *228, my phone goes into the 20 minute acquiring signal dance. I hate that beat.
After reading through 50+ pages in the regular ROM and the 4 pages on VZW I'm holding off because of some of the smaller problems people are having with wifi, MMS, bluetooth, etc.
I'm the kind of person that if there is a 1% chance of it happening it will happen to me and I can't afford to be without my phone.
Plus it is still a bit confusing with the radio stuff, loading 2.40 unlocker first, it gets a bit much for a dabbler like myself.
Maybe if there was a very simple cut & dried walk through of what you need to do to prepare/download/install then load I'd do it.
Heck, I didn't even know what the hell a 'kitchen' was in regards to a ROM when I first got the XV6800 and I've been a smartphone/pocket pc guy for a long time
It is very very easy to go back to the stock verizon rom and radio as well as the original bootloader if you have any of these problems....but as I've said in other threads....I've flashed 3 phones now with absolutely none of the problems you've mentioned.
In that case could you point me to the best walk through on doing it including what I need (bootloaders etc)? I've seen so many that make it seem like defusing an atomic bomb and then other that just say "run it & git er done' so I don't know which to follow.
Thanks so much

Search my posts. I made a good one step by step last night.
Man you have a ton of posts to search through I think I found the right one.
So you've got MMS working no problem? I use MMS all the time and don't want to loose it like some people have.
Your steps seem to involve already using a cooked ROM are the steps the same for a 'virgin' xv6800?

The only additional step for a virgin xv6800 is that you need to install Olipro 2.40 unlocker first. Be sure to turn off USB in ActiveSync when done and the phone will boot back into the OS. You can then run the Sprint update (DO NOT LET THE SPRINT CUSTOMIZATIONS RUN!) followed by the cooked DCD ROM.
Be sure to check off MMS when cooking the ROM. If you don't see it, DCD left it out and you might have to find the OEM from an older version (it was left out of 3.0.0) My old GF from when I was 14 found me on MS monday and used MMS to send me old pics yesterday....it works. ;D

I have a 'virgin' xv6800 enroute. It should arrive Thursday or Friday. My first task will be to see if I can get GPS working. I'm a veteran Kyocera 6035, then 7135, followed by a Treo 650 but reading about cooking the ROM, etc is truly virgin territory!
Can you post the link to the post you found? Thanks!
I know verizon isn't exactly known for giving it's users new featured readily but my guess on this is they WILL eventually offer an updated patch with this GPS and RevA so they can rent you VZNavigator on a monthly basis.
But expect them to disable normal satellite tracking and limit it to AGPS reception so your forced to use VZNav and not Google Maps!

Very easy? Would you point me in the right direction on where to find the original radio rom, as well as the OS rom? From what I understand to get back to the original bootloader, you just have to use the titan relock, right?

Pro with the MMS? Maybe you can tell me how to hell to use it. I'd like to look at pictures for more than 5 seconds. It's such a pita to use, maybe I'm just not comfortable with it yet. I hated my last phone, but it was so easy to sent and view MMS messages.
Since you're going from the stock rom, there's a chance you won't be able to place calls after the flash.
Call verizon, tell them you did a hard reset and can't place calls. If they press for answers, make something up... installed a program and the radio went apespit, etc. They'll get you working again.
Over at hofo a user said the tech on the phone asked him if he unlocked the GPS, the caller played stupid, but the tech knew what was up and still helped him out.
SO far so good.
I installed Olipro 2.40.
I then installed the stock Sprint ROM.
I let it run until i aligned the screen and it connected to my computer then I re-set it. I didn't know when it would try to customize my device so maybe I stopped too soon.
I'm not sure what you meant by "manually set it in bootloader" after that and since nothing came up asking to set anything on the reset I continued on to the DCD ROM.
It loaded no problem and everything seems to be working but I just tried a test call after doing *228,1 and it says they can't authenticate my phone.
SO at this point I guess I need to call VZW and get some help right or did I do something wrong

You stopped at the right time.
You will need to let Verizon know that you had to hard reset your phone and need the A Key. They will help you.
Were you following my directions?

will this work?

i try, realy i do. have done all with no help (not that i haven't asked) but i can only get so far. really kills me to read signatures of others bragging how they have their titan going with gps, mms, net (everything including kitchen sink) on cricket. yet i get nowhere, even when 3 ask. i know that ppcgeeks is almost a mirror of this site, and i don't mean to ruffle feathers, but ppc only seems to be a good place to SEARCH, i'm having no luck with forum.ppcgeeks.com/forumdisplay.php?f=48

The difficultly with Cricket is there is no "stock" Rom for this phone. I had the same problem with a Palm Treo, it worked great until I ported my home phone number to the phone and I lost internet. I could only find the same instructions that I have and must have punched it in a thousand times, called Cricket a couple to have my data package removed and added and nothing. When I swapped out for a Cricket Motorola K1m KRZR everything worked just fine. So something happened to the phone and I wasn't going to fix it as there was no stock rom to go to. You might try buying a cheap real Cricket phone off ebay, changing to that phone and then change back to the Titan and see if that changes something. $15 per swap though, maybe find a friend that can do it for free. Hope this helps.
I have other phones, even an other titan, same rom and everything. It has been my test phone for flashing. I didn't want to boar group with story. I ordered one from fundevices and after 6 weeks of waiting and calling, I ordered on off evilbay and it showed in two days. Ran it for a bit the way it came with 6.0 and would send pic but not recieve. Fathers day wife, kids and I went camping and my phone got soaked with soda (floated in it for while on car charger before I found it). Sunday we got home and I took phone apart and cleaned screen side best I could, but mother board and key board got most damage. It would come on, then off, and on, and off........
anyway I washed the mother board in hot water and dish soap in big bowl for about 15 minutes. Put all back together making sure everything was 100% dry. Turned it on, nothing. But it would charge battery. Monday the first one oredered (after 10 weeks) was at my door after work. I didn't activate it knowing I was going to change the rom, and just used wifi for about 5 days. Still using damaged one as a charger and backup battery. I sent both phones to to0 (mike cooper) and had him flash the to0v3 rom on one, but he couldn't get wet phone to come on. When I got phones back, it still had 1.20 bootloader and his rom. No gps, and it took me a week to get the net to work and mms never worked. Sent it to him under the impression that his rom posted on ppc, hofo and cricket phone talk saying everything worked, was what I was getting him to do. When I got it back, activated it, and made a call, no mic. It's not broken. Missing driver, missing patch? Don't know, I know it works. Make a call (not activated) and blow in mic. Get static. Do a video, and it records and plays back sound, but to do a voice command, or record a voice memo nothing. After a few days the battery was low, but not dead. I took backup off damaged phone and put in low battery and turned on (constant on and off would kill it for sure) and it came on. I mean it is the phone I use everyday, flashing, no luck, this post. Been going for about 6 weeks. Still untouched, 2.09 sprint rom with 1.32.00 radio, and it had a dcd hack since windows media player said dcd rom in back ground. How it came working on cricket. While flashing phone with no mic, I hooked up good phone and did unlocker on it without really knowing what I was doing. Of course it stuck in bootloader and I had no clue what to do. By now I have flashed, and flashed, and flashed. Even ripping apart roms posted to put together some things. E.G. dcd 1.6.0 to get stock 1.06 spl and putting it in 2.09 rom that was on phone ruu folder to get phone locked to do hard spl 2.40 Original rom had 1.20 and every time i relocker, it would get stuck in bootloader and then I would flash original rom, thus completing a circle.
How I got to where I'm at now. With 2.09 rom, use relocker, then rom I pieced up to get out of bootloader. Then run hard spl 2.40 since unlocker doesn't, and flashing 2.47 from card always gets me stuck in 2.07 bootloader. Once done hard spl, it's stuck in 1.20 bootloader, flash sprint 3.56, half way thru it stops and wants to recover (don't). remove battery and turn back on and force phone into bootloader and it is 2.40, flash vCBU and when done it gets stuck in boot screen and only thing in red letters is "no radio". Force in bootloader and flash 3.56 and not let customize. Then back to bootloader and flash over vCBU again. Then flash vboots. Then go thru and do reg hacks and fill in stuff for modem. And that is where I am. And yes, that is only way I could get everything flashed. 4 diff attempts on 2 phones, all left same path. Still have my nokia 6265 but wife uses for backup charger for her 6275 and some old dot matrix green screen cricket phones. I was hoping for an easier resilution. Since on phone was almost 4 bills, one was almost 3 bills, and sending to to0 to flashed was 70, pluse switching back and forth at cricket.

Was there a question in there?
How far did you get? where are you stuck? what part do you need help with?
Can you not flash 3.2.6 and run the cricket carrier cab to get all this working..? (I have VZW.. so I'm not sure about cricket)
Question is fairly clear. I posted link to ppcgeeks where my origanl question was, and when I said something about ruffling featers. Will I get anywhere asking this group to help me since it is a near perfect mirror of ppc geeks as for as stickies, threads, even what is in the threads word for word, bashing ppc for not having the backbone to answer my request for help and trying to get it here? If you read my post at ppc showing that my mms kinda works, my net does work my gps doesn't work, dialing *228 after going thru a list of prls. I guess it would be obvious of the whole, is there a question here?
How come my gps don't work after filling all appropriate fields in?
What the hell is up with my mms?
Why can't I get *228 to program my phone after changing prls
Why does the evdo change to 1x when in call and on net?
--------------------------------------------------------------------
..................IS IT WORTH ASKING HERE IF PPCGEEKS HAS GOTTEN ME NOWHERE (XDA MIRROR BULLETIN BOARD)?................................
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Why hasn't cricket mofia chirped in?
And, isn't the process I went thru supposed to give me evdo rev a? To0's rom didn't, even after boasting it did. I have done dcd roms, but they seem to be too blahh for me. In my post at ppc it shows my pc is junk (ibm). Figuring out my build os to come up with with my own rom is a joke, it took me 2 hours to do first post here. (really) and ended up having to do it on my titan. Only thing I would trade on the vito rom is the feedback in exchange for windows update.
Sorry, but you asked.
Wow that seems like a lot of frustration, I am sorry to hear that. Have you tried to bring the phone back to its original carrier like Verizon or Sprint and then started over with the latest Radio and DCD Rom? The reason I ask is it seems that you might need to start from a known point to "clean" out all the "custom" stuff. You also might want to contact Bunvilla as he PMed me with Cricket info and has he Mogul working on Cricket:
well i bought a qwest mogul which was configured for qwest network. It took a few day to find a way to get the SPC or MSL code as they call it which allows me to go into the settings and change it from qwest to cricket settings. Once the settings have been changed then u will be able to gain access on crickets network. There is a very important file called a PRL which u need to load onto the phone but can only do it if u have the SPC code. good news i can tell u how to get any carries SPC code for the mogul/ its a piece of cake to switch and way cheaper of a bill and u will have access to all the features internet and everything. hope this has helped " cricket rules"

I unfortunately am not on Cricket with my Titan. I am getting ready to flash a Verizon Motorola K1m KRZR over to Cricket but it seems way different process. I hope you do figure it out and some one on Cricket here can help you get past this ugly mess. Hopefully Bunvilla can help. I will PM him now and ask him to get in touch with you.

Well, first I would like to help you… but you posted a link that does not take me to a post.. it takes me to a general forum.. And it’s the Vogue Forum at that. I’m not searching another board for your question. So Excuse me for not knowing your question.
Second, While I have not read your post there.. If you posted with anywhere near the lack of information or general attitude (as if you are entitled to be helped) as you did here.. I can see why nobody helped you. (edit I see more info in your second post but you are all over the place and filled with irrelevant info it's hardly readable)

Yes, a proper post with a well phrased question, information on what rom / radio / and steps you’ve taken.. and a proper post title will almost always get a response and the help you need to get you on the right track. The post title is important because people see those and decide.. “Hey I know how to fix that” (MMS and GPS on Cricket Help) would be a good one. Your title “Will this work” will be skipped by most people. So… if you don’t follow those steps.. NO it’s not worth asking here.

It’s possible you did something wrong… Because a rom does not work for you, you cant go blaming the rom.. unless everyone or most people have the problem. (I’m not familiar with that rom) If many people use it, and it works for most.. then the problem is probably you.. Bashing the rom will get you nowhere fast.
** Edit** Didn't realize To0's Rom was installed for you for $$.. odd?

They are all about the same except the performance tweaks and stability. DCD is stable and performs well.. everything else is an app that can be installed on any rom.

This whole process is wierd....
So I think I understand.. you are at SPL 2.40? Because 2.47 would not work? You put a sprint rom on it, but it says no radio?
Are you against DCD 3.2.6? I'll cook you a rom with the features you want and put it on my FTP if your computer is too slow to do it.
Do you have an SD card thats less than 2GB and formatted with Fat 32?
If so.. I should be able to help you get working.

Why hasn't cricket mofia chirped in?
wow!!!! Its gonna be ok lil buddy. hang in there and have some patients ( i know your patients has been depleted) and i will try and help u to get answers and your phone working properly again.
I personally have so much on my plate that i dont get to "ppc geekout" as much as i used to.
1) How come my gps don't work after filling all appropriate fields in?
well the answer is that u shouldnt really have to enter anything in any field/ just make sure that the radio and the rom are both of the GPS rom release. cant have a pregps radio with a gps enabled rom, this is not good.
2)What the hell is up with my mms?
mms is a fickled thing , especially for us cricket people/ the problem is the wap settings and some wierd issue in the reg where a certain setting would basically block our phones from recieving the mms message.
Long story short is that with the updating of roms (from wm5 to wm6 to wm6.1) the mms seems to also have changed and just when we figure out what the problem is , it gets changed. and also cricket service doesnt use as sophisticated servers for handling mms as lets say "sprint" so we cricket people have to make changes to get our mms to work . BUT in a nut shell i have successfully got mms to work with the latest PPCKITCHEN rom release.
It took me 5 1/2 hours to figure out y i couldnt get PPCKITCHEN to work on my computer./ had to use a utility to remove netframe work and then download a 200mbsfile of netframe 3.5 and that did the trick.
3)Why can't I get *228 to program my phone after changing prls?
BECAUSE U DONT HAVE YOUR SPC or MSL CODE SET TO 000000!
PERIOD!!!! im not yelling just letting u know exactly y/ ive done this successfully twice to my current titan/ cricket sets its SPC code for all its phones to 000000/ so when it trys to access your phone it cant get pass the code/ i have the modem drivers and program u will need (which i dont know if we are aloud to mention it here) but i have it and will pass it on to u/
4)Why does the evdo change to 1x when in call and on net?
now naturally your phone will switch betwwen evdo and 1x /1x when you recieve or make a call send a text msg etc, and evdo when using data/
connection/ Now i also expierenced a couple months back when my phone all of a sudden would not stay in evdo mode no matter what i did/ i think it was a certain rom and radio combo which fixed it, but anyhow first things first.
PS by the way, these 2 files have gotten me unstuck from the boot loader mode a bunch of times and i would say the most valuable files to have are these two/
i will PM u ok , lets just take it slow k, your situation sounds like a bunch of software issues which is ALOT better than defective hardware issues
JPWHRE
sorry if my spelling suks im a lil tired/ I did get a PM from jambrose/ So just to let u know, that u should give him a big thanks/ not that i wouldnt of helped u if i came across your post but to be honest i dont read alot of the posts anymore/
And by the way jambrose, its good to hear from u. Im glad u r out there helping these guys, and keeping the support going.
hey JPWHRE
for some reason i cant send u an attachment in a PM so i guess ill post the files and info here ok
1)First run the "titan RELOCKER" file with your
phone connected to active
sync, it should return your
phone to the stock
bootloader/
2)Next run the "titan unlocker"
next , this will allow u to
install olipro 1.20/ after
running the unlocker and
following its instructions u
might be in bootloader mode
if i remember right
3) your phone should be in
bootloader mode now,(if it
aint, put it in boot mode) so
just run the "ROM update
utility" in the "olipro 1.20
unlocker" folder im sending u
k/
** u may still be in
bootloader mode when u r done
installing the 1.20 BL, NO
PROBLEM, just run the
DisconnectActiveSync.exe file
first in the "Unlockboot
folder" i have included, THEN
the "titan_exitbl.exe"/
THIS should cause your phone
to reboot.
4)next i believe we r ready
to load radio ( for some
reason the radios can only be
installed using olipro 1.20)
in the folder i have the
radio in, u will run the ROM
update utility and install
the radio.
5) Next u will need to update
your bootloader to 2.40, so
that u can load a custom rom.
Just run the
"Hard-240SPL-MFG.exe" file
ive included and it should
update u with no problems,
Once this has been done u can
now go and install ROM of
your choice/ *** PPCKITCHEN latest rom release allows MMS for us cricket folks**** and if u installed the ROM and cant get the MMS to work just PM me and ill give u the instructions to enable it, there is some adjustment that will need to be made first , so dont worry , we will get it working k**
6) well my friend this has
taken alot out of me/ i will
post these instructions im
giving u under your thread
that way incase i have missed
something, somebody can
inform us/
PS GOOD LUCK MY FRIEND, and
if u get stuck or have a
question, just PM me, but if
i dont get back to u right
away, be patient, k
heres a link to all the neccessary files, its to big to add as an attachement:

DID THIS HELP U???? I havent heard one way or the other from u so i am wondering if this worked for u ??
Just looking for a place to start...
I have Cricket on my PoS Cricket phone. Unlimited mobile web on my account. I also have an originally T-mobile Wizard which I've been using just as a mini-laptop and to learn to cook, flash, etc on...
I'm about to buy a Mogul which is supposedly Cricket flashed and/or a Sprint phone originally. As I understand it, either of these should be qualifiers for a fully functional Cricket Smartphone, yes? I want my voicemail, text messages, to surf the web via my cell connection as well as wifi. Bluetooth, gps, and just about anything else are icing that isn't -truly- a requisite for me. What thread should I start reading for -any- Rom that will accomplish the above. I don't mind if the rom is "too blahh". If you are opposed to singling out a specific rom that you (as a cricket customer with a running mogul) like...You could always post a few that you know work. I understand how the "best rom" politics go.
Also, if there are any other considerations I should keep in mind, please reply!

What the #%@# did 6.5 do to my fuze

So I'm sure that the majority of the people that are going to read this thread have already read about the spacing problems that people have been experiencing with 6.5. I was one of the people that flashed the first build from Da_G that had the spacing issue, and figured I would flash another rom to solve the problem.
I flashed another rom, and the problem still existed. I was getting either no spaces between words (randomly) or two spaces. No big deal, I figured, I would just flash another rom.
So I did; and I still had the problem. This was getting annoying. Back to 6.1. So I flashed to 6.1. Still the same problem. WHAT THE %&[email protected]! I thought. I guess the chef cooked in some of the 6.5 files into 6.1 or something. Now this was getting REALLY old. I needed to end it quickly.
That brings me to tonight, when I flashed the official latest at&t fuze rom straight from htc's website. I KNEW this would be foolproof. And guess what.
IT STILL HAS THE PROBLEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So my question is: after flashing numerous times, and soft resetting of course, how is it possible that this problem still exists? It happened exactly after flashing the rom that everyone else had spacing problems with, and hasn't gone away.
PLEASE. Someone help me. I can't even use the device and it's getting to the point where I'm really close to just dumping it and going to get something else. I hope someone out there has the answer.
which keyboard or input are you using, I've been on Da G's, NRG's, Shep's and the latest at&t stock rom, wm6.1 and wm6.5 and don't have any issues. I have issues with input on certain areas of the TF3D2 stuff but nothing with spaces.

I've used almost every possible configuration with everything, and the problems I am experiencing is with the hardware keyboard. But I've used the new ezinput2, old ezinput, abc, xt9, enabling and disabling auto correct and the other options, and ive also tried a cab by monx that didnt seem to work. I'm completely out of ideas. The fact that ive flashed over the original tons of times and the problem still exists RIGHT AFTER the flash, before I even touch anything, baffles my mind.

Yeah, no. I think what you are experiencing is a problem that your DEVICE is retaining, not a defect in each and every ROM you happen to flash. It is either something not getting flashed correctly or a hardware problem or something else that you are installing each time. If there ARE other people with this problem, get them together in a thread like this and share notes.
I havent had any space issues.
You said you've done tons of soft resets, but have you done any hard resets? If not, that is the very first thing that I would do if I were you. I suspect it's a hardware problem, but a hard reset may cure your ills. If you do this, don't run UC or install anything until you've tested the keyboard. You haven't mentioned what you do to customize your device (like run a sprite restore, lol?), but before you blame someone else, you should do a hard investigation to make sure you're not screwing things uo yourself.
As I'm sure you already know, the Custom ROM Flash tool has been modified such that it does not issue a full wipe of the flash. Therefore, it's possible that some bits are still set. When I experience such occasional anomalies, I have resolved them by applying the official HTC 5.05.405.1 WWE (6.1) stock ROM to my device.
Here's the thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=478657
This will downgrade/upgrade your Radio and change the Splash; you can always re-apply your personal favorites afterwards.
Once installed, I use the CWSLayout registry entry to change the keyboard and test all of the features of the device. In your situation, if the keyboard remains "broken", it's would indicate that the keyboard has somehow failed and requires replacement or servicing.

This is the advice I was going to give as well. It's recommended that you hard reset after every ROM flash once you get to screen alignment to wipe out any data that may have been retained.

Completely agree, a hard reset pre or post ROM flash is always good practice.
I've been using the following sequence (recommended by a few senior members) for several months now and results have been positive.
Hard Reset: Volume Down & Action & Reset/Power On
Hard Reset: Volume Up
Bootloader: Volume Down
Lastly, I'm not an advocate of using Backup applications in situations where different versions of ROM's are frequently flashed. It introduces too many "unknowns".
Cheers,
Do a Task 29 in mtty
I will say if you can't figure it out and your device is till under warranty, flash back to original and ask for a new one. claiming defective product.
That's really weird I had the exact same problem. I thought it was my space key, so i got a warranty replacement saying i had lost my phone, meaning I still have the old one. I will have to test when i get home and see if it was the hardware keys or something to do with the ROM. After getting a new phone I did notice my space key was a little sloppy, so I immediately assumed this was the problem. Hopefully I was wrong and have 2 working phones.
edit: nevermind forget it.

Had the same problem. There is a driver issue that may have caused what you're experiencing. It was discussed in the WM6.5 ROM kitchen by the chefs. I did everything you did and still had the same issues. Best fix, call AT&T and have them ship a replacement if your device is under warranty. Others have had similar issues and haven't found a solution yet. Most likely because it's a hardware failure. Wish I had better news for you.
I know it seems more than a coincident (I thought the same thing) but I've done some extensive searching and found that this is too random of an incident to blame ROMs. If it was a ROM issue, there would be a lot more people and a thread would have existed prior to yours.
If your device is under warranty, depending on where you live, there may be an AT&T Device Support Center and they carry the FUZE and will exchange the device for you. Otherwise, you'll get it in the mail in a few business days.
Cheers!

What do you mean by "sloppy"? can you elaborate a little? I just got my replacement yesterday (because of the same keyboard space bar issue as mentioned here) and I'm already running NRG's Latest WM6.5 ROM. So far so good.
"Apparently (as discussed in the Kitchen thread), there's an issue with the input driver of the 21812 build ROM. I'm not sure if that's the build NRG was using on 6/13, but it's very possible. So, Da_G has included the CompIME.dll from a working build (in this case, 21731) in the kitchen to correct the error, which was isolated in that thread by pyrorob. " ~Captain_Throwback~
Here's the cab compliments of Captain_Throwback...
by "sloppy" i meant that its not as springy and clicky as my replacement, so it made me think that the button had worn out from smashing it with my fat fingers so much and that's why it was bugging out! It must have been NRG 6/12 ROM that did it to my TP as well. Good to see there is a fix. Maybe my gf will let me trade her for her G1 now to add to my collection.

My phone is crazy!

I don’t know if it’s an age thing, as in phone years = two years being geriatric or what but it’s been doing some weird stuff.
Periodically, it’ll crash. The screen will totally freeze with it either on the home screen or a black screen as though it’s switched off. Ho hum, yet another battery pull to rectify it.
It doesn’t like too many text messages so I have to regularly do a bit of housekeeping there. Related to that, typing is starting to irritate me on there. The predictive seems to have a mind of its own and, well, it just winds me up so I end up making calls instead of texting.
Some of my text messages have vanished without me deleting them! I’ve noticed texts can be located in the SIM contact and the phone contact yet strangely my SIM tells me it has no texts. Nevertheless, when I’ve decided to embarked on a housekeeping mission, I learn that messages I intended on keeping have gone before I’ve even started deleting anything!
For a while, the phone also didn’t seem to know where I was. I was and still am in the UK and a few times, it put me in Balkan. That’s great. I’m all for a free holiday but it could have warned me so I could have packed properly!
It likes to use data even when I’m not even touching the phone! Whenever I pick up the phone, I always check next to my network that there is no counter. However, often when I pick it up I can see an hour or two has passed on a counter meaning its gobbling data. What’s spooky about this is that I’m meticulous about switching stuff off that uses data and it still turns itself on! This was the whole reason I didn’t take this phone on holiday last year; I reverted to my LG Renoir because it was safer!
The last thing it’s done, just a few minutes ago is re-start itself! I wasn’t even using it; it was just sat on the table next to me minding its own business and decided to re-start. Why?
After the Balkan incident happened a few times, my Mum said my phone was crazy. I agree with her.
Has anyone else had weird stuff happen on their phones?
If you have not tried it yet I would do a hard reset. Power your HD2 on while holding down both the volume up and down buttons and follow the on screen instructions when the come up.
Also make sure to back all of your personal data up from the HD2 first as this will wipe it clean.

The earlier roms often exhibited some, all or less of these behaviors. If you are still on a 1.4 rom version, get it updated.

I’m on the original version that came with the phone. I think that might be 1.43.
When you mentioned a ROM update, I thought
I’m so overwhelmed with the information on this forum. There are so many ROMS it’s hard to know what to pick and I’m seeing far too many posts where people have tried to update and something’s gone wrong.
I just don’t have the level of understanding about phone software to carry this out successfully.
If it were as easy as it is to update my iPod via iTunes, then I’d do it but all this looks way too scary
if you want to keep a stock rom, an update is very easy. and a lot of bugs in the first releases have been fixed.
just go to the website of your carrier and download the rom in the support section. if your phone isn't branded you can download the newest version on the htc website.
if you upgrade your rom you also have to backup all your data, cause it will get lost during the update process.
you can use pim backup for contacts and messages, or just use microsoft myphone.
yea mine was mental on teh original 1.43 too, lots of accidental calls,
to get the update start with htc.com, most of the uk carriers dont bother hosting the updates, htc.com - top right, pick country, then support - select phone - downloads and change teh small dropdown from all to rom upgrade, look for your carrier, , if a rom doesnt accept your serial when you click to download it, it isnt right for your phone, and you maybe have an unbranded, meaning it would take the regular WWE (world wide english) update, in which case try the one that doesnt have a carrier name attached.
once downloaded, read THIS which is linked to from THIS, which is a list of very usefull guides and related posts.
Thank you for all your excellent replies!
I got the latest T-Mobile ROM 3.14.110.1 from HTC website and completed the update following the HSPL installation.
Those links were absolutely wonderful! Thank you so much! I also found it useful watching the Youtube videos that were linked in one of the threads.
I’m currently personalising my phone and I’ve forgotten how to add Bluetooth as a QuickLink. I know it can be done as I saw the solution on here when I first got the phone and did it then so I’m having a look around see if I can find it again.
Oh and what a pleasant surprise being able to watch Youtube on my phone at last! Nice one!
Thank you all ever so much

id recommend you dive straight in and install cookies home tab(CHT) mod and CHT editor. (Link is in the CHT mod thread).
Not only do they make sense wonderfull, but it has built in quicklink assignable toggles for BT, wifi and such.

I've put the stuff on this evening and the add ons to get me the bluetooth toggle.

[Q] My worst failure with Android.

I don't know who's going to read this and/or if there will be any comments to it. I just want to take this horrible frustration and downheartedness out of my chest. I hope this will be of some help for anybody out there trying the same.
Today, I've hit what I hope will be the lowest most bitter point for me as an Android aficionado. Ever since the G1 was announced and came out, I jumped on the wagon and pre-ordered from Tmo (I was a customer at that time). As soon as I had it in my hands, I began learning about its customization, user experience, etc. I came here and learned how to root it (although I registered a bit later). I've owned four G1s, two G2s, an HTC Sensation and two Tbolts. All of them motivated me to dare tweaking and customizing more and more. Always with more or less satisfying results at the end, after overcoming the always present unexpected troubles. This time, however... I feel like I've got a pretty ugly dose of failure.
<s>I'll try to make it short.</s> My in-laws came from China. They had very old phones and wanted to get iPhones. However, the screen ended up seeming pretty small for them compared to my Tbolt. They asked me if I could help them get a good phone. I came up with a couple of choices. The HTC One X and the Samsung Galaxy S2. After thinking about it, I went for the S2. Now, it was a matter of picking the right (GSM) one. Either the ATT or Tmo version. I did more research and picked the ATT (I777) version, since "that's closer" to the international version.
I purchased two of them, still sealed, from Craigslist. I just loved them! Immediately, I purchased the unlocking codes for both. I got home and inserted a Tmo SIM to test them. I couldn't wait to hand them over to them. Then, things started to go just wrong in every way...
I was shocked to see the S2 had no Chinese option in language. The only Asian language available was Korean. At some point later, I realized that the Chinese options in my other phones were probably due to HTC being a Taiwanese company. I kept searching for an answer and ended up trying a couple of apps from the market like Morelocale2, etc. But they only translated about %30 of the whole. Failure.
I kept reading and learned I could flash a ROM with the language included. After more and more reading and rooting it, I had two choices. I could flash the Hong Kong or Singapore version of the phone. Those two come with the language already installed. Even though I don't know Chinese, I managed to get some help from a dev acquaintance and found the HK (I9100) version that even had the ICS version. I followed the tut and flashed it using Odin. When it booted it looked all good. Looking at that Chinese all over the place even made me smile. I sighed and said "I'm done"... little did I know my failure was far from avoided.
First of all, I learned that only two of the four buttons work due to the kernel. Only Back and menu work. I tried to see the good side. It'd be easier for them to get used to using only two buttons. I started installing more goodies, like Chinese input (by strokes, not by keyboard), even a wonderful app I found called Buttonsavior to replace the physical buttons. I was "done" and handed over the phone; only one of them. I wanted to be sure of the procedure to go, before doing the other. Then, I realized something horrific...
As they were trying the phone, poking menus here and there to become familiar with the UI; suddenly, while testing making a phone call, I heard that phrase: "It has no sound!" I wanted to kick myself out of my own disbelief... I thought "OMG! It was so hard hard to get a hold of that ROM. Now what?" I sadly understood I'd have to restore and go back to trying to find a solution to the partially translated gingerbread version. Then, I restored and went cold when I realized what had happened.
During the restoring, I was quite glad I had backed up in case of a disaster. When I booted up and just out of curiosity of how good the sound of the call was supposed to sound, I made a call. Guess what? IT DIDN'T WORK EITHER! This is when I started panicking! I thought "OK, I restored, now what?" I quickly did a wipe, factory reset, even unrooting back to the stock ROM. Did it work? No!! No audio call! "OMG!! The phone I just bought on Craigslist it's defective!"
I didn't give up and let that make me feel down (completely). I said "OK, after all this struggle and time, at least I'm going to make the other one work." I took the other phone and made a call to finally hear the quality of the audio call. It was very good to say the least. It was very nice and clear. At this point I started to feel half of an epic failure. In less than 5 mins the phone was rooted and being updated to the HK ICS ROM. I went as quickly as I could through the initial setup. I hit the home screen and the first thing I touched was the phone call icon, dialed and waited to see what the phone was supposed to be like. Then, the half failure, became full failure. I don't remember feeling that down for something before. I threw in the towel...
The audio didn't work... that's when I realized I had just messed up two brand new S2s I bought out of a stranger's hands. I've thought about it, and I got the feeling something can be done, but at this point I'm not sure what. I feel like my brain has dried up. I struggled with this for about a week, having a massive headache at least three times. But the story didn't end there...
In a feeling of total defeat, I did the last thing I could think of... I called tech support and tell them about the lack of sound. After lot of talking and pushing for some solution (they wanted me to take it back to the 'store'), they said the warranty was good for another eleven months. They've got my info and emailed me a prepaid UPS label. You think think it's a happy ending? No. You want to know why? I can't even reset the binary counter. I even got a jig connector to do the job, but of course 'for some strange reason', it won't do it. If this isn't an example of a perfect failure, then what is it? Total lost: $900.
I'm not as good as most guys here, but I like to read and use common sense as much as I can. This time I thought to my self "I'm a dumbass, what else can I say?" Aren't I?
Thanks for reading,
Edit: Yes, I did flash a stock ROM.
Hi buddy,
I just read your story.. U will both phone work again, I am pretty sure! Try to get some experienced help! Fully restoring by flashing a stocks rom should be the help... Make sure I do it correct!
Good luck!!!

I can tell you right off the bat that the reason the Home and Search buttons didn't work on your i777 (AT&T S2) is because you flashed an i9100 ROM. The i9100 has a physical home button and no search button. i9100 ROMs ARE compatible with the i777 since other than that they are identical phones, but you need to fix the key mappings. As for the audio, I'm not sure.
I don't know if I forgot to mention it, but I did flash a stock ROM.
I may not have the greatest knowledge of these things but are you sure it's not a radio issue? Have you tried flashing a different radio (one that's compatible with the ROM and region you want to install)? I know I mate who had an issue with calls after flashing a new ROM to his new S2 and the problem turned out to be the radio. Once he flashed a new one (it may have been the factory one he flashed back on to it) it all worked.

Man that's a crazy story. Not sure if I over read it or not cuz I'm baked or not but maybe they were tinkered with before you got them? Like did audio work originally? I know I'm sure glad I found the sbf files for my old OG, since they've saved me numerous times being able to flash to out of the box status. Sounds like you might've jumped into it too quickly without ironing out all the details. Shoot I know it took me like 2 weeks thinking about just rooting my phone to finally do it a couple years ago.

Yes, that was my first thought after flashing that ICS regional ROM: the radio. And that was the reason why I decided to flash the unrooted stock ROM. But like I said, nothing! I'm sure there was nothing wrong with the phones. The second was working fine before I did it. I actually tested it over and over, kind of like to make me feel better that at least that one of them was going to work.
Hi, are you getting no sound at all or just no sound in call.
I would suggest flashing back using Odin. I've had some issue's when flashing using Odin for customers. Some have had non EU devices and wanted EU firmware flashed. After flashing i also experienced sound issues.
I found that flashing back to the earliest possible stock Samsung Rom helped in my case.
hope this help you out bro

Like I said. The reason why I thought it was a radio issue (and flashed a stock ROM via Odin) was because they do have sound, but no during a call.

I'd still suggest trying to flash a radio separately. When it happened to my mate he still had sound issues after flashing back to a stock ROM and it was only fixed by flashing a separate radio zip.

I think trying that is the only thing that separates me from having spent $900 in, virtually, two paper weights. I got this strange feeling it might be a fate prank. If so, I'll probably take a break from this kind of endeavors.
The only time I've done a radio update was when updating my G1 to 1.6. The radio file was hard to find though...

Thank you very much mate! Really, I really appreciate it. The clock is ticking back. They're leaving tomorrow. I'll get into it and report back.
Thanks again,
While trying to find the right radio, it just hit me. Should I use a chinese (ZS, ZC) version? I feel like a total n00b asking this, but... does the baseband has to do with roaming or something like that?
Thanks,

That one I'm not overly sure about sorry mate. Someone else might be able to chime in? But hey, considering they don't work in their current state it can't hurt to give it a try?

The modem firmware has to match the hardware. You need to the one that came with the phone. The frequencies are physically programmed into the radio and flashing a radio with a different frequency will make it not work until you flash the correct one.

Does that mean, that there are worldwide phones with different hardware chips? Isn't there any chance to reconfigure these chips?

The phones are identical in terms of hardware specs (i9100s I mean) but each region may have one that picks up different frequencies. No you can't reconfigure it unless the radio supports it which is rare and not the case for the S2. Like I said flash the radio that came with the phone. You most likely flashed a ROM for an S2 that was a different region and came with a different radio. The software for the radio is trying to tell the radio to tune to a frequency it doesn't support. Get it?
Hopefully you made a nandroid backup before you did anything and can restore it. Also you can always play around with it in English and then change the language to Chinese when you are done if you are able to find a rom that has the language support.
