Problems flashing to new ROM - TG01 General

Hi,
I've downloaded a couple different roms.
When i run SDDL+ it just resets my phone. When i look in the prg directory i find the TG01WP_00.tsw file is renamed to TG01WP_00.enc and that is all.
If i rename it back to TG01WP_00.tsw, then run the SDDL downloader, it just tells me there was an error resetting my phone.
does it matter where i put the SDDL files? I have them in the base folder of SD card.
Anyone want to help me with noobieness?

Sounds like you're doing everything right SD/SDDL+ and SD/prg/TG01WP_00.tsw
Best posting this in the ROM section to see if anyone has an answer.

So, i downloaded and Unrar'd SDDL.rar, and placed on SD Card.. CHECK
I created a folder called PRG on my SD Card... CHECK
I placed the ROM renamed to TG01WP_00.tsw in the PRG folder.. CHECK
I executed SDDL+ on the SD CARD.. CHECK..
As i mentioned in the first post, the phone just resets. In the PRG folder the file is renamed from TG01WP_00.tsw to TG01WP_00.enc
and no new rom.
What did i miss Souljaboy.. i know it's obivious and i'm retarded, but hold my hand on this one. And i haven't tried the Pinflash method, yes i realize.

I think you don´t have to rename it back to TG01WP_00.tsw. If you have the TG01WP_00.enc in your PRG folder just start SDDL+ and it will flash the Rom. I have no problems with that.
Which Rom do you want to flash?

Erm.....what phone you got? which country? did you fully charge your battery?
which rom you try to flash ? more info will help others to trouble shoot your problem you know.
Also people `DON`T` get paid for helping you so be nice when you ask for help.

was trying to flash to arag0n85's rom v14.4

just checking
1. are you using SDDL+ and if you are try to redownload it n try again
2. master clear first and have a clean sd card then have PRG and SDDL+ files in the root.
if you have tried the above then try a differrent rom and see what happens

I've tried a few different roms.. but i'm using my standard SD card.
Is it a problem that it's an 8gb SDHC?
I'll try and get a cheap 2gb one and try it.
Is everyone else doing it with a clean SD card?

I´m using the original SD-Card, too and i have no problems with this. Try a Rom created by Novembre5.
I have many stuff on my card and i never clean it up before flashing. It always works as it should. But you can format your card. Maybe this fixes your problems.
Redownload all needed stuff, clean up your card and your phone and give it another try. I´m sure this will work.

It's the TG01, from England. The battery is fully charged. SDDL+ won't let you flash if it's not, even if its 90% and you're on AC it still won't let you.
I've tried a few roms now. I just tried Novembre5's and it did the same thing.
I'm going to attempt pin flash method in the morning.. if i can get the back off my phone haha.

I tried it with a freshly formatted SD card.. same result.
Going to try the Pin flash method

Pin flash worked.
It doesn't say in the tutorial, but I had to keep holding the short on pins 1 and 3 while i powered on the phone. Thanks all for help.

Radio Upgrading - Thought I understood....

I've read the Wiki, searched, read the FAQs, but nothing really described how to do what I think I want to do.
How do I upgrade my radio?
I have been following DCD's wonderful (thank you so much), ROMs and just installed 3.2.2 last night, so I'm not unfamiliar with the process. Then I realized that I was on an old radio. So I tried to upgrade. Here are the steps I followed.
1. Downloaded the latest radio (3.42.15 ?) nbh file.
2. Placed the nbh file in the RUU folder of the 3.2.2 kitchen.
3. Ran the RomUpdateUtility.exe that was in that folder.
It looked like it was pushing it to my phone when.....
I got an error after the phone said about 4 or 5%.
I'm sorry for the lame-o-nubie-like question. I really thought I understood this process.
What am I missing?
Thanks for your patience.
Matt
Upgrade radio by placing radio .nbh file on sd card and renaming TITAIMG.nbh, force bootloader and press power to install. You will not hard reset your phone by doing this method but you will by using RUU.

FYI: if you use this method, I'm pretty sure the SD card has to be FAT32 formatted.

True, I didn't cover that but there is much I didn't want to have to cover in my quick response. Make sure to read the wiki here for full instructions on formatting and flashing.
Edit: He did say he read the wiki, but as a counterpoint he tried to paste the nbh file into the RUU. Rule of thumb is to always follow the wiki to the letter for best results.
i don't mind hard resetting...in fact....I prefer it.
are there any instrctions for using the RUU?

Hi sudermatt,
Almost all 3.xx radios are having problems flashing via RUU. Bite the bullet and pick up an SD card it will be well worth it.

Hi glenl,
Correct, the Verizon XV6800 does not include an SD card.
can i flash my radio this way using someone else's card (for his Hermes) and it won't disturb anything on the card, and then he can delete my files after?

as long as the card is already formatted properly... otherwise just back up his card's contents and format it appropriately (fat32) if need be. make sure its not a high-capacity MicroSDHC...
You can unlock and install official signed rom that includes radio.
Then overwrite OS custom rom.
i didn't see it anywhere...not in the wiki

[Q] Just bought a used HD2 running Android. How to put it back to stock?

I want to put everything back to stock so I can start over and learn things myself. I'm very familiar with Android phones and rooting.
I searched but couldn't find a walkthrough.
Thanks guys!
how hard did u look???think there must be a million posts!
download your stock rom,
extract the .nbh file,
format sd card, fat32,
rename .nbh file to leoimg.nbh
copy that to sd card
turn phone on with vol down and should ask if u wanna flash rom,
tht will turn it back to stock spl, radio everything.

P.S. the reason i said that is because there is no easy way of fixing your phone if you brick it, unless you jtag which cost more than getting a new phone.
As far as I know, Android will only run off of the sd card, after booting into windows. Android does not reside on the phones memory. There could be a WM program on your phone that automatically boots android once windows is started up. In that case, remove the program, and if you want, delete the Android folder off of the sd.
Have a look at the this thread, and you will see that Android will only run off of the sd....WM is still the OS for the phone.

Hi, you could always go down the safe way of flashing official stock ROM from your country's HTC.x webpage. You will find download link and instructions under the HD2 support page. So if you remove the SD card your phone should boot into winmo even if it has an automatic bootloader. Once you connect your phone with your PC, flashing is automatically done after running the .exe file. After that, search the xda forum for the latest radio and WinMo ROM of your prefference. Good lucm and have fun...

I could be wrong about flashing Android to the phone memory (NAND). You can look here..

question after rooting

I used the easy root method, everything went fine. When I try to boot into recovery when the phone is off, it doesn't go into clockwork, it goes into hboot, or whatever its called. Then says something about Pg05diag , and then asks if I want to update. Not sure if that's normal. I can boot into recovery with Rom manger.

you need to delete the PG05IMG.ZIP file on your microsd card. It is left over from the root and is not needed.

ok plug your phone into your computer. When the options comes up what to do, select disk drive. After you do this you will more than likely and i think definitely have auto play pop up one option will be open files and folders, click on that. once it loads hit cntrl-f and type in PG05IMG, which is what you are looking for. if its on your sdcard it will be there. if you find it right click and delete.
2 questions, first I forgot about removing PG05IMG, I went to do it after reading this and it is no where on my card, did I miss something? was it removed automatically by the easy root program? second, I want to flash a rom and I know we have to wipe first, I thought I read somewhere that wiping removed our root? Please correct me if I am wrong, I know just enough about code to make me "DANGEROUS"!!!!! Thank you in advance for your help I came from an X and am loving the TB. Just have to get used to doing things differently. (adb, sdk and so on)

Need help, trying to install ROM and having issues

So I'm trying to install cyanogen rom on my lg optimus t and did everything i thought i was supposed to. PArtitioned the SD card and created folder 'AAA' where I placed the rom zxip file, per the attached instructions i was following. Wiped appropriate data and even did a backup via system recovery menu. However, when i went to flash the rom via the system recovery menu, I get E:no zip files found. I can't do a NAND restore either. I pretty certain that the zip file is on the sd card in the zip folder but can't get to it for some reason. Any body got any ideas? phone won't reboot either, stuck at the android splash screen.
Here's the instructions I was following //lgp500.wordpress.com/2011/07/07/gingerbread-cyanogenmod7-rc1-rjtchn-installation-guide/
you'll need to add the http prefix since forum policy won't let me post a link as a new user with less than 8 posts. Thanks.

Sigh. Did you copy the file before you partitioned the card? If yes, then you should have realised that the partitioning process will wipe all data on the sd card. Connect the phone to a computer and copy the zip file again.
yes the last thing i did was to copy the zip file the folder i created after partitioning. the folder was created on the fat32 part of the card. unfortunately, when i toggle the USB mass storage from the recovery menu, the drive doesn't show up on my computer. The phone won't start up now and so I can toggle it through the OS either. Is there some way to get the drive to show up when toggling the USB -MS through the recovery menu?
Possibly there were some errors when copying. If you have a card reader then try connecting the card to the computer through it. Else try partitioning again thorugh recovery, then see if the drive shows on the computer.
so i got the rom flashed and seems to be working but i'm not seeing the notification bar. anybody had this issue with cyanogenmod7-rc1?
Hem as far as getting your PC to recognize your phone when it
Plugged in the USB its prolly do to a lack of phone drivers. Don't know if the would be in the android sdk. Found allmy HTC phone drivers with it. And as far as the status bar h should be able able to change font colors St inthe cyanogenmod options under settings. Hope this helps some

Thanks all, I just reflashed the rom wand the notification bar was there and all seems to be working well. Thanks for all the good advice. Once I got a card reader and moved the zip files out of the folder I created and into the root directory of the card the phone saw them fine and was able flash the rom. I'll definitely download those drivers

Can't find zip files via stock recovery to update

So I was going to root my galaxy s2 and first went into the recovery mode.
I went to locate the zip file to update through and I couldn't find it, I put the two zips needed in the main directory and when I go to recovery mode I can see my folders but not the zip files, I've checked twice.
Any help?
Solved
Sorry, I placed my two zips the internal sd but recovery was looking at external card.

hey dude, at least dont be a noob when ur posting.
when u have new issue's please use the same thread u have created, by just editing ur thread title, rather than creating a new thread for each of ur issue's
u know what i am trying to tell u right.
so please see to it in the future, else people who really want to help will ignore u for the same.
because creating new threads unneccessarily and spamming is against XDA rules.
I understand, Its just I found I had a diffrent issue regarding SuperSU and not finding a zip file.
But I see what you mean and will do in the future.
