[Q] imported HTC flyer

Hi guys hope someone can help me. I got a HTC flyer for Christmas, turns out it an Asian import. I'm unable to install UK specfic apps such as iPlayer etc because of this. Is there any why of get the UK Rom on it? And if so is there a guide somewhere?
Thanks
Stee
S-OFF then you can use a rom from any region on it.
hi thanks for your reply. I don't understand what s-off is, there a guide on this somewhere thanks.

Instructions to get S-OFF Gingerbread by globatron
Instructions to get S-OFF Honeycomb by globatron
Ok, I'm still working on this..
I need to go back to the gingerbread rom from what I understand. But to do that I need to downgrade with URR. Anyone know where I can find this one?:
Ruu Flyer Htc Asia Hk 2 27 708 1 Radio 20 3504 30 089bu 3809 07 04 06 M Release 204709 Signed
Thanks
After hours of searching i've managed to find and download the file
Problem now is I don't know what to do with it :S can't find a guide that goes into enough detail, please help.
thanks
You won't be able to run that RUU, since its older than the firmware version on your Flyer.
I think you need to follow this guide to downgrade:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1307759&highlight=downgrade
Keep in mind that using HTC Unlock will void your warranty. But I don't think there is any other way.

Will give the first suggestion ago, just had to order a micro sd card so will be a few days before I can try. Tried the second suggestion by Globatron but when running the RUU it fails

That's not very helpful. What was the error, what RUU did you use, what is the CID of your device?

[Q] Please help a newbie

Hi, i just got my first HTC phone [Used - HTC One T-Mobile unlocked - i'm in Africa btw] so i don't know how it was unlocked!
my concern is if i managed to root and install CM, will i lose the unlock ??
how to know my unlock code ??
what if want to return to stock ROM or what if want to update to the upcoming Sense 6 [what ROM should i install International ROM or Tmob] and will i lose the unlock?? is there any possibility i lose the unlock??
find below the software info i found in the phone:
Android = 4.4.2
HTC Sense = 5.5
software # =4.19.531.10
HTC SDK API Level = 5.68
Also if you know any easy way to unlock the screen with other option than the power button i'll love to know it. and the Led indicator don't blink when i got whatsapp msgs too..
Sorry HTC newbie
Regards
So no one knows?? or no one care ??? :-\ -_-
If you root your phone, I don't think you will loose unlock. I also on T-Mobile, but I'm in the States, I'm using Insert Coin Sense 6 Rom. It's international, there is options when installing the Rom for different carriers. Don't use CM recovery! The best one to use is TWRP. There is instructions in the international section of this website on how to go back to stock. There so many roms to choose from, I don't think you will want to go back to stock. Nobody really comes in the T-Mobile section. You're best bet is to check out the international section.

I'm sorry but we won't actually be able to help you. I would recommend contacting the person who sold you the phone demanding the original software, that's all you can do for now. As you can see, this forum is for the single sim variant of the Desire X, there is also a thread of a Dual Sim variant named protodug somewhere, but it is not the same as yours either.
Bro what u can do is go to rom jd download the ron gor htc deaire t329d........ Before doing all this plz backup all ur data and backup ur stock rom and I am not responsible for any bricked devies or so......Then see the links given in earlier post for root and install cwm using flashify, etc and then clear data /factory reset and then clear /format system, cache, storages and then install the new rom u just downloaded......... Reboot. There u go. Enjoy the experience of ur new rom.

Actually, ALL Verizon phones are SIM unlocked for the last 5 years or so, and the Rezound is SIM unlocked, although on the stock ROM it will give an "Unknown SIM" warning, it does not affect operation of the device and is just an annoyance.
Two things I see here, first is your firmware is NOT global mode (ie. GSM) compliant on the stock ROM... You are on 3.14.605.13 and need to be on a 4.x.x.x firmware of higher for it to work properly, the correct OTA update for you would be 4.05.605.14 which you can update directly from your version, if your phone is STOCK and UNTOUCHED... but seeing it is already S-OFF, it obviously isn't pure stock.
The good news here is you are already S-OFF, so just find the firmware files (Hboot and radios) and flash it with TWRP, then flash a GSM compatible ROM so you don't get the warning message about the SIM, and happily go about your day.
The bad news here is the Rezound was designed as a Verizon CDMA/LTE phone and not really a global device, so it is a HORRIBLE GSM phone, the GSM radios are poorly tuned and need relatively strong signal to even work. Most people who have tried to use this device as their primary phone on a GSM network leave it quickly due to it's poor network performance.

First, in the stock ROM the message app is hard coded to Verizon, try a different SMS/MMS app like Hangouts or Textra.
The GSM fix is to change the default network mode to GSM, it doesn't magically make GSM work (you will find on a reboot you will probably have to change the network mode again manually)... it makes a couple of prop.build. changes and is safe on ROMs it was intended for, meaning AOSP based ROMs, I don't know what happen if you tried to flash it on a CM or Sense based ROM.
As far as best ROMs go, it is tough for me to give advice since I haven't had a Rez for a long time, and my GSM experience with it was, lets just say less than acceptable. Many GSM only users like the ROMs by Sundream, personally I used Evervolv, Talon, and Liquid Smooth.
