everytime i start running helix launcher 1 on legend it works fine at the start untill i try to expand the screens from 3 to 7 then it says i need to clean my homescreen before expanding, when thats done it asks for a restart so the changes can be applied, after the reset the apk just bugs and says it was forced to close because it had and error, this happens all the time and now helix launcher wont work untill er reinstall it .
Helix launcher 2 wont load on my legend, when i try to start the apk it just goes black screen...
anyone have any solutions for those problems ?

Just having some problems with widget loading (palmary weather and widgetsoid), but not exclusive of this launcher, had the same problem with ADW EX.

as promised here attached is the stock launcher taken from asus transformer rom, i think it is a 3.1 launcher because it doesn't have widget resize option, if i find a 3.2 working stock launcher i will post it..
NOTE: this is only for rooted devices, you can't install it, but you have to copy it in the /system/app folder, then press the home button, if it doesn't ask you to choose between sony and stock launcher try rebooting your device, make sure to have a backup rom (see condi tool) before, there should not be any problem you know...

I haven't changed any permission, i've used file manager hd to copy the file to the folder..maybe it does it in automatic?
I recommend that you use root explorer instead.
When it comes to permissions, he means that YOU have to set the correct permissions when you have moved/copied the file.
The correct permission is 644 (rw-r--r--) (r=4 w=2 x=1)

I'm running Apex Launcher (free) now and it works really well with the ICS update. Keeps the same slick look and feel, but takes away that "Favorites" button I never use, no small icons up top, and no more of that choppy fast scrolling feature that Sony built into their launcher. Some nice customization options too.

The Apex Launcher looks nice, but I don't see anything that GO Launcher does not do. I especially love all of the widgets that are available for GO.
Don't know anything about Trebuchet.

because the DEV has not released it's theme factory may be.
It's still in beta..
GO Launcher HD is still to early to put on our tablet imo, no themes and some GO widgets arent workin properly. Don't get me wrong, its a great work in progress, but its still in progress non the less.
Installed GO Launcher EX when I bought the STS and havent found anything better yet.
I'm sure if they keep up the good work on GO-HD it'll be awesome in a few months.

At some point adw crashed on cm7 zmod because i long pressed an icon and the option to delete/edit came up as i accidently swiped it in trash ...
Clicking remove then seems to be a no no for adw itself
Now what would happen if i were to install a different launcher and delete adw?

t would probbably work a little better..Try go launcher ex i used that home replacemnt for a very long time! its amazing!! hope this helps
And was that on a custom rom? Because i tried adw and launcher pro when my phone wasnt rooted etc so ot was just an apk ... ah home running over my SE home
But now when adw closed i didnt get the normal sony ericsson home screen but just a clean background.
I think adw is the only launcher in this rom ... hence my concern

YOu can use any home launcher on any ROM. But remember, that you must have any launcher on your rom If you closed adw and dont have any other launcher, thats why you had empty bacground.
Personally I used many launchers,but returned to default SE launcher,because it never crashed for me. You can try e.g. Zeam Launcher, its one of the fastest and doesnt have huge RAM consumption...
Firstly try to clean adw data using OS, it might help.
Go launcher works fine for me, however ADW launcher crashes sometimes.
Had been nice to find a way to remove ADW launcher tough... annoys me it is there

You can remove it simply If adw cant be uninstalled normally - use some root capable file manager (e.g. Total Commander for Android) and go into path /system/app/ Here you can find ADW launcher apk and simply delete it. Note you MUST have any other launcher already installed!

I also downloaded windows seven pro, it does work but it is a bit laggy and needs tweaking. (Yes I know, but I just couldn't help myself, wanted to try anyways)

I've tried 4 different launchers:
Nova Launcher 1.21- worked after installing, would not start on reboot
Go Launcher HD- works, but the background image doesn't size right/shifts every time you rotate the screen
Apex Launcher 1.3- would not install
Nova Launcher Prime 1.0.1- works, no hide dock feature
Nova Launcher Prime 1.2- works well, slow to start, most features functional
the best way to figure out if a launcher will work is to download it, move it to system/apps, change permissions to rw--r---r---, DON'T INSTALL IT, reboot your kindle, and it should prompt you you when it starts to choose a launcher

Apex launcher works very well for me. Lots of controls - if you use 'em. Mostly, it just looks clean, and the maker took some pains to make sure that it worked well.

Mine worked perfectly fine once I got it moved to /system/app.
Whenever I rotate my Kindle to landspace while using Nova or Apex, it gets extremely laggy. Does anyone else have this problem?

I can confirm that this works.
Have to be rooted, and side load it using Root Browser, by copying it to /system/app
Didn't even have to restart it, hit the Home button and asked me which launcher I wanted to use.

Do you get any messages? Did you try rebooting or wiping dalvik and cache or also try to fix permission? Stock launcher or third party launcher?

Yeah, all my connectivity is fine, and If I download new apps with their own widgets while waiting in the widget drawer, I can drag a single one out, which is quite annoying to be honest. I thought it was the launcher at first too but maybe it's just the build? flashed an earlier nightlies and it works fine.
I got this with Trebuchet too. I just switched to Apex (which is much better in my opinion anyway) and widgets can be placed normally.

When i scroll trough home screens it always lags,i only have 6 maps and clock in one screen and twitter in other,but it stills glitches every time i scroll,i am using GO launcher.i have tried many launchers,but i cant find the one that wouldnt lag,is it possible that i have some problems with phone itself or is it just that this model is laggy?

Yes , GO launcher lags for me too. Its really very strange as I didnt have such issues on my old phone (desire). I think its just what you have to live with. Or use any other good launcher like apex or nova.
One thing you can do is to Report GO DEV TEAM to test desire x and optimize the launcher for it, and im pretty sure they'll figure something out.

The thing is that go launcher works the best,other launchers lag even worse...well atleast go launcher looks kinda smooth,but others neither feel or look smooth... :s but ill try to talk with go dev

i would suggest if u really want to make your phone a bit faster go to settings and disable all the stock transition animations though it is not practically visible the scrolling is a lot smoother and in my experience go launcher is quite heavy and its realy absurd people saying that apex or nova lags for them what i found that if u set it to default launcher and give it a minute its snappier then ever apex rocks for me i try all homescreen set ups on apex and nova and never i found a lag
If apex and nova lagging a lot for you, try to limit number of widgets on your screen. I'm using apex and I have no lag at all (only widget I using is uccw clock) rest is icons. Atm I'm using mihome because of kickass lockscreens
