buttons diamond2 - Touch Diamond2, Pure Accessories

I schratched my buttons. like call, end call and return. Now I want to replace them. Does anyone know where to get those specific spare parts?

I am looking for the button replacement too, I called my country call center they said I'll have to replace the whole housing.

Never seen that you can buy only the buttons, sorry... maybe from a dummy, I dont know

Anyone Interested in a "NIKI100 20Key" or for spare parts or for Developing?

Anyone Interested in a "NIKI100 20Key" or for spare parts or for Developing?
I have a HTC Touch Dual 20 Key (NIKI100) that would be great for a ROM chef or developers to toy with or as spare parts.
I have the original box and accessories as well as a desktop cradle that I will package everything in. It is in working and flashable condition other than the one noted problem below. Bluetooth, camera, audio, buttons all work, just the audio bug which I believe is hardware based.
The device works great other than a call problem that is hardware related.
Detail on Problem: When in a call randomly the listener on the other end will hear a buzzing or humming sound and not the caller, but everything sounds normal on the device. To fix it while in a call you have to open and close the screen a couple of times. I beleive its a loose part in the screen.
Physical Condition: There is some minor wear and tear to the device and a small chip/indentation on the front of the bezel from handling over the last year but the screen is in a near mint condition because it has always had a screen protector. Other than the noted call problem, the device works great and I have flashed many ROMs to this device and it currently has a Lily Rom on it. It is not in a bricked condition and is ready for someone to play around with it or use it for spare parts like a screen or keyboard change.
How Much?
I will let the device go for $75 to the first person to post their interest in the device. This is not a bid, so the first interested person gets it, I just want to get it off my hands. I will include free shipping within the United States with all the accessories, box and liturature. For xda's outside the United States shipping will be additional and I will have to figure that out seperately. I will send a Paypal invoice to the specified email address and payment can be made that way for security reasons.

What about me?
I have unfortunately moved on from windows mobile until WM7. I am currently on the Android platform for now, but you can find me in the Dream forum on xda if you want to find me.
Feel free to ask any questions if you are unsure.

I think a few of us should club together and buy it for dzo (if he is willing) so we can get a proper linux kernel for nike (like the kaiser forum did).

Doesn't look like a bad idea to me, though dzo would be the first to ask wether he needs it... (he's gotta have already too many qualcomm based htc phones

Gtablet Support/Store - bad bad bad!

It would seem reasonable that you could buy a replacement power supply for a current product from the manufacturer wouldn't it? Start on Viewsonic's web site. Try using the store - ha-ha. Now call the number. Get referred to another number. Call that number - get referred to another number. rinse and repeat. Go to their website to the gtablet page. Read call this number 866-501-6405 for anything you need. Get referred to another number call that number - get referred to another number - rinse and repeat. Get frustrated - call their corporate headquarters in Wlanut, CA. Ask for the name of the president so you can send a letter. Get told they can't give it to you for security reasons - but it is on the web. Get hung up on. Sadly, I really like my g-tablet but this is an awful company to deal with. I wonder what will happen if I need a replacement battery - will I be told to go to Radio Shack to find something that fits (like I was told to do for the power supply)? I'm really enjoying the g-tab but I can tell you that when it comes time to replace it, it won't be with another Viewsonic product. Anyone can sell you something - it is how they support it that separates the good companies from the bad. I feel better posting this and maybe someone has had a better experience but looking at the struggles here to get power supplies and docking stations, I'm going to guess that no one has much good to say about dealing with Viewsonic. Surprise me!
Unfortunately I will have to agree. Since day one the support has been far less than you would expect. There have even been times when they have referred to XDA to help out. Basically US Merchants buys from China, Viewsonic buys from US Merchants, and no one really know who's supposed to support it. I will have to say that's the beauty of open source and some of the people that are here. More times than not you can get support right here if you don't mind doing a little digging. I've only been playing with android's for about 8 months now and know more than I ever needed or wanted to all because of XDA.
But honestly, isn't that the way we've become accustomed to support? No one ever calls Microsoft anymore, we use Google.
It's truly a shame that you can't get a straight forward answer when trying to replace something so simple. I apologies on behalf of the business owners that still give a s**t.

That is because half the tech notes for MS are "Can not be found" when it comes to errors and such
Google search allows you to reach out to users who no these things first hand. That is why I always make a point if I can not find an answer to a question, even on line and I finally figure it out myself to post it somewhere so someone else can be helped by it.
I did that here on XDA and getting ADB to work on my win 7 64bit system. All the help was on 32b this and that. I finally figured it our myself and wrote a tutorial for others that "will" need it.
Viewsonic is a very big company that is dabbling in android based tablets that at least with thegtab did not design. I would also argue that the cost/price is such they don't really know where this is going.
same with all the other tab makers save on, the apple. Think about apple's model with iTunes, what I call a consumption model. They can actually give away the ipad at cost because they can get it from the model.
now in order for company's like viewsonic to compete they need to provide all accessories and have a hook. We know from the official viewsonic Rep that they are thinking about some kind of development site, makes no money and meanwhile Steve has to bring in accessories because viewsonic dropped the ball. So yes, basically unsupported. A lot cheaper for the hardware though.
I don't see another development site as a good thing. Viewsonic needs to spend its energies on marketing the apple way or just stick with monitors. Maybe they look at the gtab as a monitor. But we know that can't be because the screen is not in usual viewsonic quality. I'm sure they saw the ztab as quick entry and OEM'd, it.
I've got to agree..
I've been trying to find a source for the mini-vga cable for the ViewPad 10. Support told me to go to Best Buy. When I pressed them on exactly what to purchase they admitted they did not know and that Besy Buy probably did not carry them. Support handed me off to the parts dept.
Parts pointed me to a cable designed for the Viewpad 100, which was a product released in 2001. When I asked if he was sure if they cable would work, he said "probably". When I noted the website said the product was 'out of stock' he said "order it anyway, that will tell us we need more". Since the conversation did not exactly instill my confidence in the parts dept I did not order the $20 cable.
I'm still looking for a mini-vga cable for the ViewPad 10 if anyone can point me in the right direction.

Where to find the Foto-Hardwar-Button

Hi,
i lost my accu-cover and the silver hardware button to start the foto app on my mozart.
I found the accu-cover on ebay germany but cannot find the silver hardware button.
Shops tell me to send it to HTC for repair, but i dont want to loose my phone for
> 3 weeks just to get that silver thing clipped back in again.
So does anyone know where to get a pice in Germany, or maybe someone here
in the forum from germany bricked his mozart and is willing to sell me the button...
any help will be appreciated
Frank
I'm also looking for HTC parts for this device.
They aren't very common...
if I will find a source I will let you know.
Are you from germany too, what parts are you looking for?
I found the akku-cover very easily and here on ebay germany
you will find the complete cover: http://www.ebay.de/itm/Original-HTC..._Oberschalen_Designfolien&hash=item19c943ab41
but since i only need this one button its not woth buying it
ah, i found your thread, it was right below mine...
so I see you look for the real button that are soldered to the board, i just need
the silver button that covers these buttons.
i guess these buttons may be standard smd-solderable buttons, i think you should
look at electronic stores that sell transistors, resistors and stuff like that and
find a switch that has the approximate sizes - just as an idea
have you tried searching for it spelled correctly?
"camera hardware button" or "photo hardware button"
thanks for the correct english pronounciation
(i am from germany so english is not my native language).
I did a search with these keywords too but up to now i was not able to
find this silver button

how to replace digitalizer

I need replace digitalizer screen, do you know any link to do it?
thank you....... I need your help
If youre not confident and ask about links to do that, Id recommend service, warranty or not, digitizer layer is glued to screen and anyone who hasnt enough experience will just mess it up badly

then, it´s better replace lcd+digitalizer, for me to do it.
do you think so?
Its certainly better to replace whole screen, but still even better is to do it in service, i wouldnt do it if I havent had any previous experience/wouldnt be able to find how to do it by myself, that screen isnt exactly cheap, if you dont have problems with that, go on
I have two words to say:
1. I don't know why people answers: 'go to service'; he don't ask forum for answers like that!
2. I never dismantle DX but on other HTC devices (and I'm preaty sure here is the same) the LCD has nothing to do with digitizer. The LCD is inside the phone and on top of that is the outer case and on that is digitizer. Digitizer can be found on market glued on case or simple (cheaper but harder to replace). The link between them is a thin band.
If I'm wrong please correct me because there is some time since I haven't worked with such devices (hard or soft) and on that time digitizers were resistive not capacitive...
Conclusion: be carefull and first of all try to dismantle your phone. If you succeed you can decide what piece you have to replace, LCD, digitizer or both...
I just pointed out that if someone has no idea how to do such thing (this was nicely indicated by asking about links how to do it), it is pretty hard task to do and might end bad (and I mean really end like this, not like "you can brick phone this way, but it wont happen anyway if you dont just have big bad luck"), he will end with no warranty (not like unlocking bootloader, they should still replace bad screen when unlocked, at least only warranty service in our country is doing it like this, they are cool ), unless it was some software voodoo which messed up with screen this badly after opening bootloader, or own fault which isnt covered by warranty. But it doesnt matter, we dont know the story and I just pointed out, that if someone wants really to do this, he should at least some iniaciative, like "is better this way or this another way" instead of asking for links, which, and its friendly advice, would be better solved by some person who is acctualy providing some guarantee that he will repair it how it should be, since he get paid for it.
I am not trying to demotivate him, in the end, its not my phone...

[Q] Hero H600 MTK6516 Numeric Keypad (ROOT Or?)

Just looking for anything I can do to this phone, root, update whatever... I purchased it for my mom for a birthday present since she's in her late 60's hates physical keyboards nearly as much as she hates touchscreens but wants a phone that can do app's. So I figured WTF @ 60 bucks why not give it a shot, shes hard to please. LoL
I'll see how it works when it arrives, but I might also be looking for numeric keypad mapping, hopefully not crossing fingers...
But what I'm really wondering is has anybody ever messed with one of these, are there root's available for it (NOT THAT A SENIOR CITIZEN WOULD NEED IT) also any pointers on how to really dumb down android too for the not so tech savvy?
I know I'm gunna install whatever google service is needed for Speech to Text Input to try and make things simpler for her, I might also wanna find a good key mapper, to look voice search to one hard press of a key. Not really worried about 4G or anything, since shes on WalMart Family Mobile, main concern would prolly be which sim slot is for which.
It's this phone: http://www.mcbub.com/item/Hero-H600...P-Camera--Android-2-2-OS-Wifi---Black-153472/
I might check at PandaWill forums and see if anything is for it there.
