when I looked at the download it says CM 5.0.8 and I think it has the same radio as Froyo, so it should work, right? I will test it anyway and report back..

Will this MOD work with any kernel??!

4) wipe
5) flashed cyans 5.0.8t3 HERE
6) flashed the 720p update zip

dont flash on froyo, files are different for it

absolutely wonderful! thank you

Lost my usb cable so cant view videos on my computer yet, but i'm currently recording a **** load to view them later.
Thanks OP!

Did you modify anything in the kernel or just in the Camera app? Send me a patch and I'll get it into CM if you want.

[FIX] Hardware Video Decoder Lag Fix [2.3 / xRecovery]

If you watch videos encoded in high quality resolutions above 854x480, H.264 or MPEG4 and a pretty high bitrate, you might notice that video playback is laggy and not fluid with custom ROMs. This flashable zip package is supposed to fix that.
Tested
Stable - Any ROM based on stock 2.3.3 (Wolfs TW Gingerbread, Blue Sparks, Ultima GB etc.)
Stable - Most xRecovery-based CM7 ROMs (ZMOD, SpaarcMOD, FreeXperia Sony UI Achotjan etc.)
Stuck on boot - MIUI ROMs
Untested
FXP CM7 (won't work anyways since it uses CWM)
Special thanks to
zdzihu
EDIT: I've uploaded a test video to check whether video decoder lag is present or not.
http://puu.sh/5j8h/SmoothnessTest.mp4 (854x480, H.264, 5 mbit/s)
If it stutters during playback, that's an indication that the video is lagging.
This fix will not eliminate the problem but will reduce the lag by a huge margin.
I noticed this while watching videos with camera panning, they looked very juddery.
Anyone tried this? Just wondering what the original problem was.

So, this should enable me (us) to play 720p Youtube vids?
never notist a problem and if there whas a problem, Z would have notist and came with the solution.
I think i would not flash this before making a back up.

Why do you feel like discouraging people who try to offer something to the community?
On the one hand, there are tons of threads in General section
whining about people moving on from the X10 and development stalling,
and then there are post like yours... It's just not right.
Anyway, @OP, I played the test video and noticed no lags.
Could you explain what is it that you changed in the .so libraries please?
And why some people have the issue and others don't?
Thank you very much!
Okay. Downloaded the files. Tested the video. It does stutter a little.
Tested with scary gov. Running video twice... 22sec at 128mhz. And none over 500mhz! So its not decoding over cpu
P.s. Yes, also did with performance. Same problem.
Now gonna make backup. And then flash file.
Noticed the lag myself. So maybe it's missing a video codec, so it's not using hardware rendering.
I'll flash the fix and see if it works.

It depends.
On modded stock ROMs, if the dev included z's audio lag fix, this problem will surface.
On custom ROMs (CM7 for example), the issue is already there.
This zip simply replaces the libs with those from stock ROM.
PS: It was one of the reasons why I didn't use Froyo custom ROMs.

Technically, yes. Personally, I rarely get any audio lags while listening to music except when there's CPU heavy stuff going on like installing a large app from the Market.

Not really. We play HQ YT vids aka 480p
Try DL-ing a 720p or even a 1080p vid and play it... see what happens. Not to mention HD divx/xvid content
P.S. regarding audio lag. I still experience it while underclocking to 128MHz. It's doesn't happen while the sleep FQ is at 245, though

Need advice on odex files

If anyone can help me with this question I would greatly appreciate it. I am trying to figure out if I can install an odexed apk (blurCamera) into a deodexed rom (eclipse 1.1). The reason for this is because the only camera app that records video without freezing and lag is the stock blurCamera.apk from 2.3.4, but only the odexed version. So if I can install this apk into eclipse what permissions do I have to set for the odex file? Or if u know of a camera app that actually works that would be great too. Any help would be great. I have a 9 month old son that I want to take video of, but stock 2.3.4 just doesn't function near as good as eclipse, even with supercharger and speedy installed.
Thanks in advance for any help!
Have you tried the apk from the stock, deodexed zip put up by peperm1nt? It should work but it won't display the thumbnail preview at the lower right if you're using the aosp gallery.
Sent from my DROID X2 using xda premium
Nope I didn't even see that one. I'll give it a shot though and see how that works. Thanks!
I have found that HD recording seems to always be jumpy for me.
using the DVD or VGA settings allow for smoother recordings
Well what us the point in having a phone that claims it can record in 720p hd when u have to set it to record in standard def just to get a decent quality video? If I knew how to adjust the bitrate it records in I think I could fix it, but that us way above me. I read in another post that the bitrate is too high.... Just an idea if anyone with some expertise on this wants to help me I will be glad to do anything I can. I do know some coding stuff, but I'm still a noob
I get no issues on 720p recordings with the stock camera. I get some tearing on playback on the phone periodically but when played back on a pc, etc it looks great.

Moto camera with slowmo

Sup guys , after searching and messing with media_profiles.xml alot, finally i found a fix for slowmotion recording with stock moto camera on cm12.1.
just replace media_profiles.xml i have provided and volla .
these are the changes i have done apart from slowmo -
increased 4k bitrate to 65 from 30 mbps
increased 1080p bitrate to 20 from 17mbps
increased 4k audio bitrate to 320kbps
increased 1080p audio bitrate to 256kbps
image quality to 100%
how to - extract the file and copy it to the /system/etc/ , overwrite and give permission 644. you need moto camera already installed, just install it from playstore.
p.s.- it seems like slowmo isn't working exactly same as stock firmware but it's better than not working , it may work on other roms too i haven't tested yet. Doesn't work on cm13 according to some users and i can't fix it since im still on cm12.1 for obvious reasons
Its working thanks
Works great in NX Nexus rom
Update: CM12.1 Nightly 29 Oct support SlowMo
Nice find
It work for other then X Moto devices too, I test on MAXX, on CM base RR it use the same media profile from X.
Hope you or some one fix the slomo audio. But like you say better working slow then not working... :good:
Will use yours changes on my ROM...

i think audio can't be fixed in slowmo. think of it like this - when you fast forward/ rewind a video in any dvd player or digital player (pc), either audio gets messdup or it gets mute. that's how slowmo works. it records video @120fps and then plays it back at 30 fps. so it will be pretty slow speed audio . also if you open media_profiles.xml you can see it ignores audio settings for timelapse videos. so it can't be fixed without framework changes i guess. no idea honestly .

MysticBlaze347's Cam Mod for V20 - Piggyback Magisk Style - [Updated- 5/28/19] Final

...SCROLL DOWN FOR UPDATE...
Here is a Camera Mod for the V20. I am pretty sure it may work with all varients.
Works on Nougat 7.0, not sure about others.
This Magisk Module Enables your Cam to record at TOP QUALITY!
- 4K @ 100Mbps / Audio @ 420Kbps
...all systemlessly.
----OR:----
There is Now another as well (the "v.2" )for 75Mbps instead of 100Mbps for those that feel 100Mbps is not in "Cam-Reality" needed for top quailty. Also takes less storage space.. All in all, you decide.
Enjoy
----------Update 2/22/19----------
Here are two more Magisk Modules I created that allow a difference between 100Mbps & 75 Mbps per version. Both include some new mods such as enhanced codecs and more that are better decribed in per module description. These versions that have these changes are "v.3" (100 Mbps + other mods) & "v.4" (75 Mbps + other mods)
----------Update (5/28/19) {By request }
This new v.5 has "75-76Mbps for "Manual Cam mode" now. Shows 64Mbps in cam, but is 75-76Mbps in details. This however applies 75-76Mbps to all/everything in cam. Only way I could get it to work. Also might break "Steady Recording" if toggled on.
Enjoy and thank you for using my Magisk based Mods
Thanks for the mod! I have to ask, does your slow-mo still work in the stock cam with this mod?
There was a media_profiles file that was floating around somewhere in the V20 threads, but it made slow-mo more of a stop motion. Thinking it had something to do with FPS or something.

I'm on stock cam..V20/V30 cams. Not sure what cam u are on. I tested the mods and they both work.
This is the 75Mbps one. Bitrate shows via vidtrim app. Also the 100Mbps. Also want to point out that this is tested in Auto mode in stock V20/V30 cam apps, not Manual or Special Modes.

Hello, thanks for the work. The mod lets me shoot in 420Kbs aac audio but nothing changes in video. Still in 64Mbps 4k 30fps.

Thank you

Sorry, ment 75 max allowed with his mod for auto mode. Manual mode uses some other form for bitrate as to why these mods so far don't change for manual mode. I have yet to find what and why. Maybe one day I or someone will figure out as to why.
I have not adjusted anything related to bitrates etc with mine since that is generally just in the media profile configs.
I am, however, working on increasing the slo-mo frame rate, enabling 4MP 1080P etc. So these higher bitrates will help a LOT
Do you care if I integrate these with my mod @mystic?
I have had a rough 6 months so have been MIA on here but things are getting back to normal so I hope to finally have another release out with official oreo support.

Permission granted ?. I was wondering something. Do you have a change log for your last two Nougat downloadable mods?. I would like to use, but seen last one talking HDR video removed ect. That kinda stopped me because I do HDR converting via Auto or Cine-log on V30 port (if I remember to flip). I can't go to Oreo because I'm on ls997. Root is a no go after Nougat for this. The Cine-log mod had a odd greenish hue on my end.
Sorry for the long reply.

Sure I'll do that tomorrow. I'm also on an ls997 so well be on nougat forever. Which, tbh, I'm fine with.
Also, thanks
Cinelog *will* have an odd hue as it is logarithmic gamma instead of linear. It's only for use with editing. Otherwise it wont look right.

[Magisk][Module][Pie] Hevc Recording Enabler v0.3 for Oneplus 3/3T/5/5T

Hey everyone this would probably be my comeback for posting a thread after like 5 years. and previously i did some development for Samsung's Galaxy Core 2 G355H and after that i got myself a oneplus 3.
Now coming on to the Topic. I have been feeling that the stock Oneplus Camera encoder is taking way too much space as it should because it uses H264 encoder. and i suddenly felt that i have to do something about it.
So i searched through the internet. and found that it is not availabe for Pie though it was available for Oreo here.
but then that thread got me an idea and i edited the xml file myself and made it work.
This module enable HEVC/H265 video recording on OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T.
The bitrate values are the same as original.
The audio codec it's still AAC and the audio bitrate is doubled to 192kbps.
For Half bitrate i ll use heaac which uses less space without losing quality
Why should I use HEVC instead of H264?
Basically, HEVC provide the same quality as H264, but using half the bitrate, this means that you can record videos with the same quality but using less space, or, if you're more inclined to that, record video that use the same space but with better quality (less compression, therefore less artifacts and more details overall). nope, this is mainly for oxygen os based on pie. slow-mo in gcam isnt necessary as it is working on oxygen camera.
and i dont know if there is any mod to make slow mo work on gcam, if there is give me a link and i will include it.
Nice work bro!
I remember you from the SM-G355, nice phone xD
For slowmotion...
SlowMo on gcam works if you use the libs of Nougat and manually place it in the system (for android 10) or if you use MagiskModule (for Android 9 and 8).
I upload the module and the zip i use in Ten ROMs

Hello. Just stumbled over your thread. I'm using a ZUK Z2 Plus and wanted to know if it would be possible to make this enabler working for my phone. Thanks for your work.
