3d video for eclair rom - Android

Hello everyone,
I'm attempting to build my own ROM and would like to know if there's any pointers out there for adding 3d acceleration for Eclair on a G1/Dream 32B. I'm still hunting around and if I find anything I will be glad to update this post for others.
Thank you,
Ben Z.

solution camera?

I thinck if some body can solution the camera problem in the build hd desire, this rom is fantastic but the camera is very important for the phone.
thanks all cookers for great jobs.
Quit opening new threads
Phew! Lucky this thread was started... The devs were probably just gonna ignore the camera problem if you didn't bring it up here... (yeah, sarcasm)
waiting for the new buildin of Desire HD
The Camera in HD is so important to our sanity. Please clever Chefs out there come to our rescue. Thank you.
I hope they fix the build in espresso, coffee taste like **** now
please fix camera and flash that desire hd rom is awesome once its fix never changing roms againg...devs thanks for everything you guys are great the best
I think it's a difficult problem. Because Hd2 has different camera from Desire HD,the quality of Desire HD Camera is better and there's no compatible Driver of HD2 for this Desire HD rom...
Im sure devs are already trying to fix this problem with the HD build and theres no reason to keep this thread open. If you want to discuss it more please post in the respective build's thread as opening new threads for existing matters just creates waste.
Thread closed.

Android 2.2 Sense

Hey,
I was just wondering if the "dream" of having a working 2.2 rom with sense is dead?
i'm sure there must be alot of people hoping to get this for the hero.
I also understand that with the closed code it's no walk in the park, but with chocolate froyo Radug came really close. I truly wish that someone smarter than me would give it a try.
If anyone would give it a try at least, it would be greatly appreciated!
It would give a spark to the old hero if we could have it, specially with riemervdee's brilliant work on the .35 kernel port.
anyways, i will try not to be a nag. Thanks alot to all the devs around here, you are all doing a hell of a job and the rest of us all ow you big time for your hard work and effort to keep our heroes alive!
I believe the Villain Team were working on a 2.3 Sense for the Hero but it's very pre-alpha at the moment.
Riemers latest kernel works with chocolate froyo 2.2 but camera still doesnt.if your not bothered about the camera (i use my digital one instead) use chocolatefroyo rel2
I saw some photos of a new HTC phone with Sense v3 running on Android 2.3 (HTC Pyramid)...maybe they'll be able to get sense from that as they did for 1.5 and 2.1
Good luck to all the devs working on faster, upgrade, & updated roms!!
The camera is sort of important for me. I've tried chocolate froyo rel2, and it is a great rom, but still, no cam.
i don't get it, maybe it's because i'm not a dev or that i'm not that smart, but why are we talking about porting a ginger with sense, when we seriously need someone to fix the cam on the froyo sense roms? Wouldn't it be a little smarter to take one step at a time, and fix a fully working, fully functional froyo rom with everything, and take the experience from that to start working on a ginger rom?
maybe i'm missing something and that all that was just stupid...

Welcome to the View man! First, if you're new to rooting, you should use kevinrocksman's multitool which is found is found here that will allow you to root and s-off so you can flash roms.
That same tool has the roms that are available for the view and it does the work for you. CypherROM(my rom) is a sense based Honeycomb rom that has all your tweaks, is themed, and debloated. It's also the most current HC rom.
Grafixnycs rom is desensed if your looking at going that route.
Gumby63 also has a desensed rom out.

[Q] Monitor Mode/Packet Injection?!?!

Ok so I have a spare 3d sitting around and came across this article saying that they have a kernel that allows monitor mode/ packet injection on the Nexus One, the GSII and possibly the OG Evo. I believe you have to compile the kernel yourself and it only works with AOSP roms. They have just updated the firmware for this kernel to work with the bcm4329 WiFi chipset that is in our phones. Is this in our near future? Is someone (kernel dev) looking into this? My friend is working to compile his on his SIII. l would attempt it but I have no linux knowledge, no pc, and no idea of what I'm doing or where to start. Any feedback, questions, comments would be appreciated

Hey man, I am on the same warpath as you, but my weapon of choice is the Evo Shift 4g. I have been watching bcmon.blogspot.com waiting eagerly for updates. I know there's a thread on XDA of some devs compiling differen CM10 builds for peoples phones with compatible chipsets but I cannot seem to find it.
If you wanna contact me pm me, I have msn/aim/skype. Perhaps we can help one another if we have any progress in any way shape or form.

[Request] Froyo Sense for HTC HERO

Hi All,
As you can see, our last dev (Kemoba) has left this forum.
He has done great job. So big thanks to him.
He unfortunately couldn't finish his last ROM which was hopefull for sense lovers.
This ROM is pretty awesome. It runs froyo+sense 2.1 and is very fast.
Unfortunately, it has two bugs : GPS and camera aren't working...
BUT : this ROM (Herolatte) was also running froyo+sense but was slow and kinda buggy.
So, my goal is to make a mix between those two ROMs and have a last working ROM for our Heroes.
I'm actually not a dev and can't do it by myself.
Why do I want this kind of ROM?
--> because many apps request at least foyo to get installed, and because Sense has many more functionnalities than AOSP.
I hope some people here will help on this project.
If you guys are going to do this, be my guest, get my rom, mod it and name it whatever you want, im gonna tell you my findings so far. Putting latte's libcamera, libcameraservice or any lib that has camera in it's name and hoping that it will work, well it wont why i have no idea probably some weird incompatibility. My advice: look at the kernel and HAL's. HAL's are in /system/lib/hw check them, try to find a hal that will fix the camera and work with stock/latte libs. Check the kernel's init.rc or something like that, look for any camera related stuff. Froyo camera and GPS was always a problem for our heros, and if you cant make it work with latte, get a rom from Droid Eris or HTC Magic Froyo, they are preety similar and i believe that we can nick some libs/hals of those roms and make a hell of a mix... If you make it work it's awsome, mention me as something or put up a link to my rom Again if you guys need anything im here, Im probably gonna be online at irc.freenode.net on #team-legacy channel...
Thanks for your advices, dude.
I'im gonna link some Eris and magic ROMs so if someone want to help, he doesn't have to search.
I promise : if we get it working, the ROM name would be "Kemoba's Legacy"

Just try to look at files kemoba mentioned and swap them.
I list some files:
- lib/modules: be sure you have the right files for the kernel
- lib/hw: take these files of a working froyo ROM for camera and gps
- etc/ : gps.conf. Take the file of a ROM with working gps
- lib/ : swap all files with lib...so (...= camera or gps) with the ones of a working ROM
If this doesn't work, try to search some other differences in the lib/ thread. There are some more general files that influence the camera and gps.

First of all, thanks for your answer.
Like I said, I'm no dev. Actually, I 've already tried playing with some libs, but i finally gave up because i'm too bad at this. I don't even know what you mean by "swap this file"
But if you're offering assistance, I accept it with pleasure.

To be precise, I think we should put Herolatte libs in Anthrax...
Herolatte libs wont work, i tried... Try to use some libs from eclair roms, i have a hunch that they might work, more specifically, beastsense since it has sense.... BTW, learning about android development isnt that hard...
OK, I'll give some more links of eclair+sense ROMs.
Edit :
Here are the links :
- Heroine
- BeastSense
Waiting for the rom . Hero has been forgot too long.
Don't expect this too much. Almost 700 views on this thread but still no help proposed.
All you need to fix it is mentioned. You know have to swap each file and flash the ROM. Does it work? It's fixed. Doesn't it work? Try other files and flash again. It will take a long time but that's the only way to be sure it works.
What happened with this project?
AW: [Request] Froyo Sense for HTC HERO
Will this Project support Multi language?!
I'm sure pirlouit has tried his best on this but he said himself that he is no dev. combine that with the fact that it seems there are no devs left for the hero (that actually own the phone) that could help then I wouldn't hold your breath on this.
if i could help pirlouit with this then i would but I'm no dev either. I have 0 experience in this kind of stuff, I wouldn't even know where to begin
If there are enough people that would like to use this ROM, I maybe could try. Find enough people and I'll see what I can do. Although I have no HTC Hero, the core should be the same for a Magic.
I should have a hero coming this week, I'm no dev, but I'll help you out as much as I can PowerPlop!

There is another guy (Derkz) who wants to help on the project. He PMd me to offer his help.
I hope that you guys will find a solution and finally get a full working ROM.
I switched to Desire X, but I still own my Hero. So if you want me to test, I'm available.
i see your rom screenshot and look like so good, it could be so nice for our htc hero..

Bad news I'm afraid, what I bought was a Hard Bricked hero the seller sold it as a soft brick so I'm annoyed
