No Weather Animation on Home Screen?! - HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I flashed KWBR_HD2_2.0 on my tmous htc hd2 and everything seems to be running smoothly except one thing I noticed is that there is absolutely no weather animation effects on the home screen tab! I really liked the lightning and the rain/windshield wipers going off during changing weather...
I've got CHT installed... and I have the weather toggle switch in my quicklinks but it is always off - when I press it, nothing happens, it doesn't switch to the ON position.
I've tried searching the forum but all I come up with is people having trouble getting the weather to update my location - that's not the issue here.
Does anyone know of any registry key that you need to change or cab file to install to get the weather animation running on the home tab (ie to see the clouds drifting, the rain pouring, the snow falling, etc etc.)?
Any help is appreciated!

Hi,
If you navigate to HKCU\Software\HTC\Manilla and change the value of Home.WallpaperMode to 0 and then restart, it should work.

add items to today screen

hey everyone. i have a question about adding an item to the today screen.
i recently flashed my 6800 to the dcd 3.2.5 rom. everything works fine. before i flashed it, i copied everything from the extended_rom.
on the stock sprint rom, the today screen had a few icons that would adjust screen orientation, commanager, and brightness. i would like to add that back, if possible.
i have a copy of the SPCS_Titan_homeplug.xml file, but how would i get that onto the list of available today items in the control panel?
thanks in advance
derek
You need to install the cab file for Sprint HTC Homeplug.

where could i get that? iirc it wasnt in the extended_rom
here is a list of what i had in mine before flashing:
addcontact
addcontacts
autorun
config
getgood_0519_signed
groovemobile_plugin....
hidden
iota
livesearch
movielink
ondemand_6800....
signed_08516_7500_spcs_2.04_sa
spcs_titan_homeplug.xml
sprintnavigationtoday
sprinttv_noremoveable
after flashing, i ran the dcd sprint carrier.cab, plus signed_08516_7500_spcs_2.04_sa.cab, hidden.cab, and iota.cab
i didnt see anything that said homeplug.cab
(and i did search for it here on this site, all i found is htc homeplug)

[Q](Sprint) Flip Clock Re-Flip on View

I spend most of my time over on ppcgeeks but can't seem to find a person who knows what I need to do to get this to work.
I've heard on the Vodafone TP roms that the flip clock resets to 0:00 and flips again every time you go to the home tab. Well, I want to see my flip clock flip... Any way for me to make that happen for the Sprint flip clock as well?
Or does anyone know which manila files control the behavior of the clock? I'll go change them myself and learn something in the process, I just don't know where to begin.

Here are my Favs for TF3D. You will find what you are looking for if you search for it. From these links you can learn about Manila... I did anyway.
** I recommend starting here if you want to learn the file system first: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=414861
The rest are good links to download others work and "inspect" it. What I did is download a clock for example and then decompile the cab to see what files it held. From there i knew that those files represented feature / function X. Pretty simple revers engineering.

I really want this as well. please let me know if I can be of any help and we can get this done. I haven't dealt with manilla files. But, have experience in programming..
Can't wait to accomplish this.
P.S. I noticed that the "Original HTC Black" theme posted here on xda-dev under Diamond - Themes, Application has this behavior that we are looking for. If we can only figure out what exact files do we need from there...
Here is the link for the HTC Black theme thread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=430174
With this theme installed using TF3D Config, I get the desired behavior that you are looking for ( clock flips from 0:00 to current time every time you switch to the home tab. )
If you can install this theme and then figure out what manilla files control this behavior, you/we will be golden. From there, we can just copy those files to an external storage, hard reset the phone and then copy those files over the original rom manilla files.
Here is 1c684cd8_manila from a version of manila that I know does the flip from 00:00 to current whenever returning to the home page. If creedin is correct about which manila file controls that behavior, then this should work. I haven't tried it though so I have no idea if it will actually do anything.
Nope. I just tried over-writing the 1c684cd8_manila file. Did not work. Home tab was completely empty....

yea, that file controls the clock, but the theme maps the home tab, so youd have to copy all the files from a theme with the home tab that flips, then replace all of theme, make sure it works then customize to your theme

I don't have the phone with me right now. Can someone please confirm that this white flip clock shows the behavior we are looking for i.e. flips from 0:00 to the current time every time we switch from any other tab to the home tab.

Here is the link for HTC Black Theme that works:
http://rapidshare.com/files/176284824/HTC_Black_v1.93_1.2b.theme
Can't wait to find out what manilla files are needed to be copied to get the desired behavior.
Does anyone here know if this might use more memory??
i changed mine to the regular flip clock and its still smooth
isnt this why Sprint and AT&T chose to go with a nonflip clock?
i just downloaded the theme i'm going to check it out. for some reason i had to rename it from a .theme to .zip so i can see all of the files and look at the code. the regular flip white cab earlier didn't have the effect that we were looking for tho.
the black theme didn't re-flip for me, even after i restored to factory settings
Any progress on this?
Finally found a thread that was working on addressing this issue. Doesn't look like anyone has figured it out yet though :-(
I'm interested, so that I can have my glass clock flip back to 0:00 every time i hit the home button

[REQ] background/wallpaper changer WM6.5

Does anyone know if there's an app that will change the wallpaper on 6.5 every few seconds like a slide show or if thats even possible?
I guess one could make a mortscript that changes the wallpaper every few minutes from a list of files, but everytime it's change the today screen would need to reload.
I was looking for the same thing. But becuase of derekwilkinson's response that wouldn't be such a great idea. Maybe possibly it can change wallpapers only on the locc screen only. That way I wouldn't have to install s2u2 that I've been using fo a very long time.
The lock screen uses the wallpaper from the today screen, and, as far as I know, cannot use a separate wallpaper.
I'd be ok with the today screen refreshing too, but I gotta wait until enough people with mortscript knowledge want it as well. All that stuff looked totally foreign to me

Using WM6.5

I have WM 6.5 with M2D.
Where can I change the backlight, change ring/vibrate (without using side keys) and how to know we have a lost call? (I dont have call history on first screen, I only have a button on taskbar...)
WM6.5 is very finger friendly, but there are some things like this that are annoying me
How to control the lock system ?

It depends on wich rom you are using but let's give it a try,
- Backlight: start/settings/system/power/backlight
- Change ring/vibrate: start/settings/personal/phone
- Change volume: with the side-keys on your phone, or on the topbar by touching the speaker (not in all versions) and for vibrate by pressing the # button on your keypad (not in all roms)
- lost call: You see a notification on your screen if you missed a call otherwise go to the dialer-menu.
There are more ways to get the same result, so go playing with your phone and you'll see it for yourself.
Hope I helped you a little bit in the right direction.

Ok two problems solved By the way, there's not a way to place a shortcut on "Programs" of anything of "Setting" ? Just for programs ?
One still to solve. The problem is: in my screen I dont have a line 'missed calls'. It's selected on M2DC but I just cant bring it. I tried aply themes from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=425974
Themes .cab dont work (png's over png's and so on), extracting .zip on \Windows same thing, and importing .m2CT crash M2DC Customizer. Have any idea how cant I change M2D Theme? (2.0.1920.1520 TouchFLO)

Hi again, for your programs make a shortcut of folderview.exe, you can find it in your windowsfolder and copy it to windows/start menu/programs.
The version of Touchflo you are using I'm not sure which one that is but if you want to learn more of m2dc just go to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=427392&highlight=manilla
Hopefully you can find your answer there.

I think it's human mistake, maybe I'm forgotting doing something. I'll open a new thread once the one I have problems its closed.

By the way, how to install that bottom bar we see in many WM6.5 ROMS? (With start icon, back button and X button but on the bottom).
Also how to get taskbar without start button ?
I saw many roms with and without, confused if its WM6.5 function or not.

It seems that you have a thread only made for us, ok first of all, I don't mind to help you, but you have to read and search a bit more and if you don't know anything, you can always send me a pm, I don't mind at all.
Ok to get back to your question, it just depends on what rom you are using proberly you are now using the naked version from DJ, and that is a com 2 branch, it means that it don't have a bottombar, in my signature you see a rom I made and that is one with bottombar also DJ made beautiful rom's with bottombar just search for his threads.
Cheers,
Look's like there's any ROM where we can control the lock.
There's any way to make those rom's auto lock after backlight turn off ?

There is an app for that - I have a link on my insomnia thread for the cab - here is the link to the thread - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=542482
It allows you to lock the device when it goes to sleep or you switch off the backlight.

Changing Lockscreen Wallpaper & Start Menu Wallpapers Seperately

Hi all,
I was wondering, is it possible to change the lockscreen wallpaper & the start menu wallpaper seperately?
(Start menu wallpaper is when you press the windows icon and you see tools, multimedia, games, etc folders).
I want to have a photo as my lockscreen wallpaper but have a complete white background for my start menu wallpaper. At the moment i can only seem to have one wallpaper for both screens.
Am currently using the latest version of cookies (1.8.5) and cookie home tab editor (1.8.5.1). See my signature for Rom details.
Many thanks.
