Preparation:
Be sure that you have Seus installed and your phone was detected in Flashmod by Seus!
This is essential, because SEUS installes the drivers and the DeviceID gets written in Registry!

Step 0
Extract the file to a desired folder!
Please extract it to a folder without spaces.
For example:
C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Rooting is not good!
Better:
C:\Rooting\
If you are running a 64-Bit System you should have downloaded the additional file!
Please extract it and copy the "DevID"-folder in "Step1"-Folder AND in "X10a"-Folder! Just overwrite the existing files!
Step 1
Now you must run the first flash Process.
To do it just run the file: "1_downgrade_flash.cmd".
It will give you a screen like this:
If you see that you have to connect your X10 in Flashmode now!
Connecting in flashmode is easy:
Shutdown your phone -> Connect USB Cable TO PHONE -> Push and HOLD the Back-Button -> CONNECT USB Cable to PC.
If you see the green LED in the upper right corner you are in Flashmode!
Now quick press ENTER (you have ~5sec until X10 boots up and leaves flashmode)
If you done everything right you should see a lot of commands running in your Dosbox. It will look like this:
You have to wait a few minutes until you get this Message:
Congrats! Now you completed Step1! Please disconnect phone from PC an take your Battery out for ~5 sec.
Step 2
First startup the Phone and activate USB-Debugging:
Menu -> Settings -> Applications -> Development -> USB Debugging!
This looks like this:
Now execute the file named: "2_root_system.cmd" !
After you executed you should the this :
If you got a Error your USB-Debug mode doesnt work well. You have to reinstall new Pc-Companion! (Best is that you install thisone which your phone offers you)
If this step worked you should see this Screen at your phone after a few seconds:
run step 2 and select "update from sdcard" on phone. Be patient and don't push the button again! It will take a few seconds!
After it's done you should see this screens at your phone:
All you have to do now is wait until this finishes. The phone seems to restart 4-5 times.
If everything is done your phone will bootup automatically!
Now after your phone rebooted, please check again if USB-Debugging is still active!
If it's active you have to switch back to the open Command Prompt windows and Push any key to finish the step! This will install the rest of the software including the su and superuser.apk!
It will look like this if the step runs well:
Congrats you have finished step2!
If you have a X10i you are done here!
Step 3 - X10a Only!
Okay now you have to complete the conversion from X10i to X10a!
For this is step3!
To do it please run the file named: "3_patch_X10a_only.cmd"
After the copying is done you will see a similar window as in step1. It will tell you that you should connect your X10 in flashmode!
Please do it like in step 1. Connect the phone an press any button. The process will flash the baseband of X10a R2!
Now you are done

Errors of X10Flash:
INFO: start
java.io.IOException: Unable to open channel, GetLastError=0
at com.sonyericsson.cs.usbflashnative.impl.USBFlashNativeImpl.openChannel(Native Method)
If you get this error you have added WRONG device ID. Maybe you have not only ONE in registry. Try finding another one!
If all don't work. Please install SEUS one time and this far SEUS wants you to connect XPERIA in flashmode.
After this is done you should find your Device ID! (Because SEUS found it and installed drivers! )
There is another Erro regarded to 32bit and 64bit Systems!
If you got this Error, please uninstall Java -> Reboot
Download Sun JRE 32bit -> install -> Reboot.
Now you should be fine.

Some things to know...
WARNING: If your phone starts rebooting, doing strange things, or gets stucked in the middle of firmware update or rooting process, check if the back of the phone or the battery is overheated.
I found on my phone, when internal battery temp is above 38ºC, the phone starts rebooting when there's a lot of network traffic or when the cpu is working hard (when it boots, when updating firmware or when installing a lot of applications in parallel). If you see this behaviour, first turn off your phone, take out the battery, and let it cool down. After a few minutes try again. Or, if you can not wait, put it in fron of an air conditioner and repeat the operation
(not joking, where I live there are 30-36ºC these days and my last root attempt required my car's air conditioner blowing up at 16ºC. After 7 tries all crashing, this last time the process went smoothly).
You can check battery temperature by launching Dialer application and typing: *#*#4636#*#* and then on the menu, tap on battery information.

Feel free to try for yourself, but before you do a 'rm', I would advise you to do a folder inside of system/app, and simply move all you don't want there. For example:
mount -o remount,rw /dev/block/mtdblock2 /system
cd system/app
mkdir Temp
mv mediascape* Temp/
After you checked there aren't any problems, simply do rm -rf Temp.
P.S.: Mediascape is NOT required to correct audio routing between speaker & headphones. This problem was caused by differences on the kernel module that controls audio routing and the newer baseband. With last root version you shouldn't have any problems using Android's original Music app.

I've finally got round to posting a a STAR100 SuperCID guide.
1. Get itsutils: http://www.xs4all.nl/~itsme/projects/xda/tools.html
2. Run pdocread.exe with no args. Take a note of the "uniqueid" value.
3. Run "pdocread -n 1 0x000000 0x10000 -b 0x4000 original-bdk1.nb" - you'll get a file.
4. Head over to http://www.spv-developers.com/strtrkCID/. Feed it the DOCID and the file you got from steps 2 and 3. It'll give you back anoter file.
5. Run "pdocwrite -n 1 patchedfile.bin 0x000000 0x10000 -b 0x4000" where patchedfile.bin is obviously to be replaced with the patched file you got from step 4.
6. There is no 6. Report feedback.

someone can't get the docid ,because you must use the old one!
I tried to do first step but when I ran pdocread.exe I get the following message :
Could not update itsutils.dll to the current version, maybe it is inuse?
try restarting your device, or restart activesync
or maybe your device is application-locked.
I've app-unlocked my device, activesync works ok, and restarting does not help. Phone is Qtek8500.
Any ideas?

Is the script to calculate CID area for startrek available?
I think this should use the same method on Artemis or Herald, the problem is that they have G4 DOC and we'll not be able to use pdocwrite, but on those phones we're already able to place a hacked SPL in mem with psetmem.exe and jump into it's address with modified haret version. If we have the right CID area we can use the hacked SPL to flash it.

I've CID unlocked my Qtek 8500 and installed new ROM 3.6.251.0. Thanks Zone, great work!
Maybe it would be useful to write more detailed instructions, so here it is :
1. Application unlock your phone using regeditstg and do the following :
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Policies\Policies\0000 1001 = 2 -->Change the value data from 2 to 1
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Policies\Policies\0000 1005 = 16 --> Change the value data from 16 to 40
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Policies\Policies\0000 1017 = 128 --> Change the value data from 128 to 144
Reboot the phone
2. Run SDA_ApplicationUnlock tool. Reboot the phone after it finishes.
3. Download itsutil.zip from http://www.xs4all.nl/~itsme/projects/xda/tools.html , version from 2005-6-28. There is even newer version, but with that version you can not use pdocread without arguments.
4. Connect the phone with activesync
5. Run Command Prompt, go to subfolder named "build" in itsutils folder, and run pdocread without arguments
6. Note the value of "uniqueid". It will be something like : "00 00 00 00 12 03 02 14 3b 07 1b b2 04 05 07 54"
7. run pdocread again with these arguments : "pdocread -n 1 0x000000 0x10000 -b 0x4000 original-bdk1.nb". This will make original-bdk1.nb file in build folder (where the pdocread is located).
8. Upload this file and value of uniqueid to http://www.spv-developers.com/strtrkCID/. It will open a new page after few seconds. Go to bottom of the page and click the link "Download patched BDK1"
9. Download the file (it will be named like "supercidxxxxxxx.bin) to "build" folder

Correct, you still need to pay to carrier unlock the phone. Check the wiki for links to a few services that are known to work.

Here is CID unlocking procedure, that was posted few days ago by Zone-MR. I have unlocked my Qtek8500 and installed a new ROM version 3.6.251.0. :
1. Application unlock your phone using regeditstg and do the following :
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Policies\Policies\0000 1001 = 2 -->Change the value data from 2 to 1
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Policies\Policies\0000 1005 = 16 --> Change the value data from 16 to 40
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Policies\Policies\0000 1017 = 128 --> Change the value data from 128 to 144
Reboot the phone
2. Run SDA_ApplicationUnlock tool. Reboot the phone after it finishes.
3. Download itsutil.zip from http://www.xs4all.nl/~itsme/projects/xda/tools.html , version from 2005-6-28. There is even newer version, but with that version you can not use pdocread without arguments.
4. Connect the phone with activesync
5. Run Command Prompt, go to subfolder named "build" in itsutils folder, and run pdocread without arguments
6. Note the value of "uniqueid". It will be something like : "00 00 00 00 12 03 02 14 3b 07 1b b2 04 05 07 54"
7. run pdocread again with these arguments : "pdocread -n 1 0x000000 0x10000 -b 0x4000 original-bdk1.nb". This will make original-bdk1.nb file in build folder (where the pdocread is located).
8. Upload this file and value of uniqueid to http://www.spv-developers.com/strtrkCID/. It will open a new page after few seconds. Go to bottom of the page and click the link "Download patched BDK1"
9. Download the file (it will be named like "supercidxxxxxxx.bin) to "build" folder
10. Run the pdocwrite from command prompt with these arguments : "pdocwrite -n 1 supercidxxxxxxx.bin 0x000000 0x10000 -b 0x4000". Replace supercidxxxxxxx.bin with the original name of downloaded file from step 9.
11. Wait 15-20 seconds and that is it. Reboot the phone and install the ROM you like

I cannot edit register to change setup, the access id denied....
How can I unlock my phone? Note it is not branded and it works with all SIM, but if I install a new ROM it refuse it...

When my contract was up and I was trying to decide what new phone to get (upgrading from a RAZR), I did a lot of research online. I was looking for something that I could easily mod, customize, and program. In the end (partially because of these forums ) I decided to buy the Fuze.
So I finally got around to modding my Fuze, and it was a success and a lot of fun! I hope this post can help someone like me who wants to customize his/her Raphael - this is what I did, and how I did it.
As you read, refer to the Links, Downloads, and Notes sections below!
1 - Backed up Data.
Used PIMBackup (A,1) to make a backup file of my stuff, and used ActiveSync(bluetooth) (2) to copy everything to my laptop.
2 - Dumped Original ROM. (B,C)
Used PHM RegEdit (3) to change HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies\00001001 from dword:2 to dword:1
Did a soft reset.
Using ActiveSync, copied "itsutils.dll" to fuze:\My Documents\
Using Total Commander (4), moved itsutils.dll (5) from fuze:\My Documents\ to fuze:\Windows
While connected via ActiveSync(bluetooth), the following "pdocread.exe" (5) commands were run from Command Prompt:

"pdocread.exe -w -d DSK1: -b 0x800 -p Part02 0 0x9ba0000 Part02.raw" (155.63 MB in ~20 minutes.) (*I)
[Changed ActiveSync from bluetooth to USB]
"pdocread.exe -w -d DSK1: -b 0x800 -p Part03 0 0x12800000 Part03.raw" (296.00 MB in ~6 minutes!) (*II)
Using WinRar, RRU_signed.nbh was extracted from Stock Raphael RUU 1.90.405.1 (6,*III).
Installed RaphaelKitchen v0.62 (E,7,*IV).
"RRU_signed.nbh", "Part00.raw", "Part01.raw", "Part02.raw", and "Part03.raw" from above were moved into RaphealKitchen's "BaseROM" folder.
3 - Cooked Original ROM. (C) (To keep the original ROM - just in case).
Ran "RaphaelKitchen.CMD" from Command Prompt. (Key commands: e,b,<Enter>,c,a)
BuildOS opened automatically, and the green "play" button was clicked. Once it was done, it was closed and RaphaelKitchen continued.
Back in RaphaelKitchen, <Enter> was pressed.
The hex editor "XVI32.exe" opened automatically to show the newly created *.nbh file. Once it was closed RaphaelKitchen continued.
Back in RaphaelKitchen, <Enter> was pressed.
HTC Tool opened automatically, checked the new file, said everything looked good, and closed automatically.
Back in RaphaelKitchen, <Enter> was pressed.
4 - Flashed Hard-SPL. (E)
Downloaded "RaphaelHardSPL-Unsigned_1_90_3.zip" (8).
Ran "RaphaelHardSPL-Unsigned_190_1_3.exe" while connected via ActiveSync(USB).
After going through the prompts on the phone and the laptop, the screen went black on the phone.
After ~1 minute, the progress bar jumped from 0% to 100% and the phone turned back on.
Did a soft reset into bootloader mode (by reseting the phone with the volume-down button pressed).
Tri-Color screen comfirms the SPL was flashed: "SPL-1.90.OliNex".
5 - Flashed a Cooked ROM. (F,G,*V)
Downloaded NRGZ28's "EnergyROM 3.0 RAPHAEL 20090605 Standard" (H,9) and extracted with WinRar.
Removed SIM and SD cards, rebooted the phone, and connected to ActiveSync(USB).
Ran "Custom_RUU.exe".
After moving through the prompts, the phone restarted and showed the Tri-Color screen.
A grey/blue progress bar on the phone mirrored the progress bar on the laptop.
The process finished after ~10 minutes, and the phone rebooted into the new ROM!
Once the "align screen" dialog came up, the phone was Hard Reset (reset while holding volume-down and enter).
Another grey/blue progress bar showed the restore progress. It took ~20 seconds.
Volume-up was pressed, and the Fuze booted up with the fresh new ROM!
The Fuze was turned off, the SIM and SD cards were reinserted, and the Fuze was booted.
And it worked - this is awesome!

*I It would probably (definitely) be faster (when backing data up) to use ActiveSync via USB instead of bluetooth.
*II When using ActiveSync(USB), don't let the Fuze go to sleep; it will disconnect ActiveSync!

Xperia X10 Froyo 2.2.1 rom is a fresh and clean build of latest AOSP, without any custom modifications. The first release (alpha build) is not fully suitable as main operating system, but still pretty ok for most of the tasks. The alpha build is compiled with engineering and debug flags, so please don't expect it to be fast or stable. It definitely will lag and crash every now and then. The main reason of releasing it is to gather as much end-user feedback as we can. Most of the issues are already addressed and being worked on (as described below), so I'm expecting BETA version to come in several days.
The BETA version will be flashable into your X10's flash memory and ready to be used as main (and only) system. For now, I feel like dual booting is the way to go (and hope you like the idea).
New features:
DUAL BOOT
Press any key during the boot process (right after "Sony Ericsson" text logo) to boot into 2.1 ROM. Otherwise it will boot into 2.2 Custom Rom.
There is a plan to prepare boot menu, this would allow us to multiboot (number of ROMs only limited by SD Card capacity)
Known problems:
- no Audio playback (voice calls work)
- no native Video playback (RockPlayer works)
- camera - not implemented yet
- random reboots (identified - WIP)
- random lags (identified - WIP)
- slight radio issue - voice calls - sometimes (1 out of 25-30 for me) both you and the other person sound like a chipmunk (identified - WIP)
Requirements:
- 1GB of free space on SD Card
- phone needs to be rooted with busybox installed
Installation:
1. Download the rom package (FreeX10_alpha-release_0.0.1.tar.bz2)
2. Unpack it to the root (main folder) of your SD Card
3. Connect your phone in USB Debugging mode
4. Open ADB shell, switch to root user (SU)
5. Issue the command:

6. Reboot when installation is finished
7. Enjoy
Notes:
- the build comes pre-rooted and with busybox installed, there's no need to do it again.
- DON'T use the "factory reset" option in custom rom. It's hardcoded to wipe nand "data" partition!
- when message pops up "Force Close / Wait", select wait... it will eventually finish the task.
- this build IS very early alpha, bear in mind it will crash and lag. If you don't like it, try 2.1 AOSP build instead.
- first run may take up to 5 minutes, this is directly related to the lagging issue.
- remember you won't hear any ringtone, enabling "Vibrate:always" is good idea.
- be patient it gets much faster and less laggy over time, when everything is cached
Change boot priority:
Copy this file to /system/bin folder ON YOUR ORIGINAL 2.1 ROM, NOT FROYO.

1 º Download this suite of applications that I use (I added the zip original drivers from LG, which, with no specific model for this, worked like a charm):

2 Reset the phone manufactures (who have data to backup, use the File maneger Astro, for example), to obtain a clean file system Settings \ Privacy \ Reset factory data;
3 Extract the zip to a folder on your desktop and install the USB drivers, which are in the zip, the folder "USB driver";
4 Connect the phone to pc cable and expect drivers to be installed;
5 º Go to the pc start \ programs \ accessories \ command line;
6 After you open the command line type:
cd \
cd Users
cd (user name in question)
cd Desktop
cd (name of which are powered uncompressed zip files)
cd ADB
and the result is something like: C: \ Users \ (user name) \ Desktop \ Root Maximo LG Pro \ ADB
then enter the following commands:
adb devices (pressenter)
adb shell (press enter, and then the letter of the command line will pass to $)
echo 1> / data / local / lge_adb.conf (press enter)
7 After these commands inserted, turn off and then turn on the phone (very important this step), always with the phone connected by USB;
8 After restarting the phone, go to the folder where the files are downloaded and run the SuperOneClick.exe;
9 Select the method GingerBreak and click "ROOT"
10 When the process finishes (VERY IMPORTANT) make sure you turn off and turn it on again and update the application through the superuser Market.
That's it. Phone with root access.

I've tried as you say, and i jammed on the driver installation. Why? On the pack you've posted, there's only a shortcut to the driver file: LGUnitedMobileDriver_S4981MAN32AP22_ML_WHQL_Ver_3.2 - Atalho
and when clicking it its giving me a link to something that doesn't exist:
C:\Users\"username"\Desktop\LGUnitedMobileDriver_S4981MAN32AP22_ML_WHQL_Ver_3.2.exe
Even so, i'd already had installed the LG software suite and so i've got the driver so i moved to the next steps.
when going to perform the adb shell command (error: device not found), i tried with mass storage mode on and off and msg is always the same.
can you please help me?

That guide is so complicated for n00b like me who has never before used Android. The stock rom is awfull anyway, any hope for costum roms on this one?

After running the adb command line and restart the mobile, i've started the super one click, it started rooting and in the end in step 7 he says "Remounting /system with read-write access .... FAILED", what went wrong?
I have the latest drivers for this smart and the latest super one click v.2.1.1
My LG has the 2.3.4 version of android and it's from TMN

I have an LG-C660 Android Gingerbread 2.3.4
1 - Does anyone has an Android version fot this device..?

I tried as instructions but the adb driver can't be successfully installed. I've tried installing drivers many times but it doesn't work.
Done! I removed the SD card and it worked finally!

When you get the #6 step you have to disable and enable debug usb on the device..in this way it should work

Sir i have tried the above procedure. But after "loading gingerbreak" nothing happens. i have waited for half hour.Please tell me what went wrong?
some body know how to get in recovery mode ´cuz i can root my c660 i have gingerbread 2.3.4
i have rooted my gf's phone and made a custom ROM for her i made it for her only !

Finally Done. I used SuperOneClick v2.2 and removed the SD card (only in settings) and on step five just disable and enable usb debugging. I feel like alchymist.
And now i am looking how i can custom default rom.
