Just bought this phone

I bought this phone on ebay a while back and i'm just wondering can anybody give me some information about the phone e.g. Best GPS program , best audio player etc .
This is my first time having a Windows Mobile phone and also my first time even having a smart phone ..
As mobile browser I got Opera mini, works great. Think you can get it from m.opera.com.
For movies use CorePlayer. Best mediaplayer IMO.
I got NoData for when I'm traveling, and don't wanna end up with a huge bill.
SMSBubbles is a tiny bit buggy but it works. It allows a popup with the incomming text to appear on your screen, so you can read what the text says without having to navigate.
McGuider: great navigation; make sure you get the smartphone version
If you intend to use your own headphones to listen to music; use this here. There's a coupon; SH5OFF which will give you 5% off everything. Free shipping worldwide.
For the software I suggest you use the search button to get the most recent versions.
Good luck
thanks great reply !
I checked out McGuider earlier but didnt see this phone in the list of compatible devices ?
you just try to go to ---> http://www.freewareppc.com/download/utilities/cabinstl.shtml there you can find many free applications that are compatible for your device
Can anyone tell me does Google Maps have a sat nav feature or is it just like basic maps?
I think it is just basic maps...to be honest im too lazy to check it now...
Btw try sygic mobile 10...best navigation software for this phone imo...also includes camera alert

CloudOn

Hi friends
This app seems like a good document editor for MS office and pdf, the user interface looks decent and there are dropbox, Google drive integration.
I'm curious on trying this app, but my Tablet isn't eligible for the download due to region restrictions.
Could a kind soul grab the app for me on Google Play and post the apk here?

Works on my Transformer Prime in Belgium ^^
It's incredibly amazing, though also paaaaaaainfully slow... not the connection, just the interface. I'd mainly need this for Excel (haven't found an Android Office suite that does XY scatter plots!) but the sluggishness would need some getting used to on my otherwise very fluid device.
The interface is pretty annoying to get around in, since it's so cramped. Luckily my dock's touch pad can help with that. What's weird thuough, is that it doesn't recognize some physical keyboard-specific inputs, like arrow keys. You'd think they might have tested for that?

There was an update for Cloudon posted in July, does anyone have this version? Can't get it from the play store on my phone or my tablet (HP Touchpad). I need it for school, my laptop is in for warranty and I don't have a lot of spare time to sit in a lab, I have to work while taking a bus.
Edit: Version 2.0.7.33 is the latest.
Thanks.

Could someone with a tablet upload the latest .apk
I got latest phone version through my old HTC Desire(Bravo) but when I install it on my Padfone 2(Which does not have official support for this app yet) it only enables the phone version of this app.
While the version posted up here enable the tablet mode but because they are to old it won't let me login. Giving me an error that these version of the app are to old and no longer supported.
If anyone is interested the phone .apk I can upload it.

Hovernote: Floating notepad for Tablets!

Hey guys, just found a new app called Hovernote for $.99 in the playstore:
'It's simply a note app that hovers over whatever you're doing. In a world where it's necessary to launch a full-screen app on a ten inch device to jot down three words, Hovernote is a godsend. You can have multiple notes open, copy, paste and share from them, and even use the app on phones/tablets"
The more apps like these we get, the more I can appreciate what Android brings to the table!

Very cool. I can see how this would be massively helpful for studying and taking notes from e-books.
EDIT: Here's the Play link for those who are interested:

Hey, yeah its a great app. Will do!
Thank you mjlim for creating another floating app to add to my arsenal . I bought it instantly once coming across the android police article to show my support for more floating apps (hint: I buy all floating apps )
Woot! Another floating app bought.
Really useful app, and if they keep popping at those prices I'm gonna buy all of them ^^
Read the save locally feature is being worked on... the app is looking really neat. Great work

Currently, no. I might do one in the future, but for now you can purchase the app and try it out for about 10 minutes; Google Play has a 15-minute return window in which if you don't like an app, you can have your purchase refunded (more accurately, never charged) via a button on the app's page.
great app..just purchased
It's funny how I and another person who commented on the Android Police post about the floating app library were just hoping for someone to make a floating note taking app and a day or 2 after, there we have it!
Too cool. Bought it in a heartbeat. Thanks dev!
Got this app and I love it. I works over everything, video, office, browser. Swiftkey is active on it so spellcheck is also available. Nice.
To the author;
New features that I'd love to see. A widget instead of status bar notification and direct text file save.
Thanks!
Tritium
Hi!
Just so you know, I released an update yesterday that includes:
text file read/write
window transparency
an option to turn off the notification that appears after you close the last note
I'm not too sure about using a widget, since you can only access those from the homescreen... maybe I could display a list of recently opened files in a widget eventually, though.
I've gotten some feedback on there being too many notifications, so I'll see if I can come up with some alternative means (configurable, because I don't want to force it on people) to select individual notes.

Really liking this app. Its nice being able to use this app and sending the notes to my regular note taking app. I'm liking the floating window apps that are starting to come out.

Love the app. There is a method to get it free out there but after 3-4 days (when I got paid), I bought it to support the dev.
One thing I would like to see is an option to set a default open/save location. I usually save mine to sdcard/notes/.

Thanks for buying it. I didn't include any of the licensing or antipiracy libraries because it would be inconvenient, and the app is open source anyway; I definitely appreciate your purchase!
In the last version hovernote now remembers the last folder you were in when you opened or saved a file, and that's the default next time you open the file picker.
Thanks for sharing this. Its exactly was I needed.

[APP] [4.4.X] [WIP] Android Wear Canned Responses

Just a little side project im working on. As the pictures show, this app will be Material Design inspired.
(ignore debugging toasts, and duplicate sms in conversation card (drawback of using your own number as the sender/recipient). Also noticed the reply screen has a limit on characters shown per item.
Cool!! How would this work though, because wouldn't the SMS apps themselves have to support the canned resposes? Or this its' own SMS app?

Let me explain the process going on in the back end.
-SMS is received(hangouts only used so far)
-SMS sender address is grabbed from the SMS and the corresponding notification is cloned
-cloned notification is used to build a copy of the apps notification (including conversation page, if applicable) and the custom reply action is added.
-the new notification is only seen on the wearable, and is interact-able via voice or responses.
-only issue remaining is getting the original notification to clear only on the wearable so a seamless experience is provided.

AWESOME!! Please PM the APK to me or just post it on here, I'd be more than happy to test it for ya! :good:
Ok so here is the very first preview of WearResponses (v0.1).
As I mentioned this a teaser of the free version, so the number of responses is limited to 3. Also this is limited to Hangouts SMS currently, but that will change soon.
There are few 'issues' remaining but I felt it was stable enough to at least release to show what the final product will be. They are:
* Original Android Wear notification for the SMS shows on wearable.
* When Hangouts notifications get stacked, any SMS's messages beyond the original are not hijacked - yet. This is still being looked into.
Otherwise it is free for you to interact with and play with and get a general idea.

Once ready, this app will go up on the Play Store with an unlock key to access unlimited responses, plus new features down the road.

Yes i mean minuum Keyboard.
I read in the Playstore Description that it can be used on Android wear. But one of the latest comments in the store say it doesn't work, which is confusing.
tested it with the apk from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-360/general/minuum-keyboard-android-wear-t2871609 its v3.03 while play store version is alrdy v3.5 i couldnt find a newer one so far. dunno if the mailing list hasnt given me anything except "confirm ur subscription" mails (selected "Other" as watch while signing up).
seems to work pretty good with Quick for Wear (play store) but its english only so far since u cant download other languages. there is a thread here on xda giving some advice on how to get the language packs from the phone version to the wear version of the keyboard but i havent tried that out yet: http://forum.xda-developers.com/g-watch/general/changing-languages-minuum-keyboard-t2923763

The newest apk appears to be from December 2014 so it's quite outdated and I can't find anything newer. I'm gonna keep a eye on any updates but as of right now I wouldn't run it on my watch. I personally use the voice reply on a regular basis and have no problem with it even with my accent.

Okay, at least there is a version avaible that works. Thanks.
Now i only have to wait till the zenwatch 2 is avabile again at the store.
and maybe we find an newer version of minuum in the mean time.
EDIT: I Remembered the ability of swype keyboard to draw the letters with the fingers, maybe we can get Swype to run on the Smartwatch and use the Draw feature to type like the (Discontinued?) Microsoft Analogue Keyboard for wear.
