When i open the app and it shows "Please Wait" for long.
I can't install or run the java app.

I am using pdanet for connecting laptop to mobile Internet.
Java apps can't be installed, only apk files supported.

I have read a lot of things about people having issues rooting with Mac. If you don't have access to a PC or VMware here's an option.
Install Airsideload. I can't post a link cause I'm new to this site but google.

Download the Gingerbreak.apk on your Mac.
Then just drop the Gingerbreak.apk into the "drop zone", open the app on your phone and your all set.

Dear friends a strange problem arose with me regarding installing .apk
I had just update my dell streak with update.pkg from dell. But the problem is that my net is disabled somehow and I don't have wireless connection too. Though I have backup of all application but I need to install file manager first. But now as I can't open market to download either through net or wireless. Is there any way to install apk from computer through usb. Plz I need it badly as I can't do nothing without installing file manager.
Yes, you can, but you will need the Android SDK installed on the PC.

Once you have it installed, it is as simple as typing adb install packagefile.apk into your PC, to install a package onto your phone.
ok...downloaded both SDK and JDk.....installed JDK but when installing SDK its again showing same page to install JDk....i'm using windows 7 starter pack on my ASUS Eee PC netbook

I think even the stock ROM comes with Quick office or something like that that will allow accessing the SD card if you were to put the apk on the sd card and install it from there. I may be wrong though, it's been forever since I used a stock ROM

Hi, I want to develop Android applications.
So I read and have download some apps & sdk.
I've download Android SDK. And open the SDK Manager.
while the SDK Manager is open, my computer suddenly freezes. I think it's because I was copying some Gigs of data from MicroSD to my HDD.
After I restart my computer, and trying to open the SDK Manager.exe, DOS window is opened for a while, and then closed. and nothing happened...
How to fix this...?
I would just erase/uninstall it all and restart. This happened to me and after the second time it worked.....

how to install IDE and java files? I think I've installed java files correctly. not sure about the IDE.
I did, it would not let me delete them so i had to do it threw cmd, hopefully you dont have the same problem.

I've tried to uninstall the SDK Manager and install it again. it didn't work.
So I Download the latest version of Java jdk. I got 1.7.0. Installed. and the SDK Manager still didn't work.
I tried to install Java JDK 7 and SDK Manager on VirtualBox with Windows XP. And I can open the SDK Manager...
Don't know what happened with my Windows 7...

I tried to connect my SXS to my dad's windows XP desktop but the PC Suite is not detecting it. When I connect the mobile the PC Suite says 'searching phone' for a second and then says 'no phone detected'. And I'm not able to use tethering option too. BTW I am able to access my internal storage via 'SDcard mounter' app.
When I connect the mobile the PC is making a sound confirming that a device is connected during which pc suite says 'searching phone' but after two or three seconds the PC is making the same sound repeatedly and at a faster rate and then the PC Suite says 'no phone detected'. Frankly I don't understand why it's happening like this.
BTW the mobile works fine with my windows 7 laptop.
Any help would be grateful. Thanking you in advance.

You have to download xperia s signed driver for windows xp from sony.
Also you have to update windows media player to lstest one possible you can.

I downloaded the drivers from this site.
I thought that it would be a .exe file but its not. So please help me regarding how exactly I should use the drivers after I download them.
Right now am trying to update my WMPlayer.
Extract it to desktop, connect your phone and when pc says that drivers not found click advance and select path where you extract the drivers, wait couple of minutes and drivers will be setup.
I update wm player to 11.

i install 32 bit version of linux mint 13 cinnamon.
after the installation was complete i tried to connect to internet... i use a dial up connection. i googled it and found that i need to have gnome ppp package installed to use a dial up connection when i try from the synaptic package installer in mint it tries to donwload the files but it cannot be pc is not connected to net.
what do i do now?
