Tools to help in Development - Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Mini

ADB for X10 mini
USB Drivers on XP for the X10 mini phone
First, it is important to install drivers properly.
Start with the SEMC drivers.
When the device is connected to the computer you should use ADB for X10 not ADB that comes with Googles SDK since it is not compatible with Robyn, yet. Use ADB for Robyn included in attatchment, and write adb devices.
If you get something like CBxxxxxxxx then ADB works with Robyn. To kill old ADB server you can use adb kill-server command.
Good luck

Ahh, thanks for pointing me to that - I spent a good few hours trying to get adb to work with my x10 mini - looks like that's the missing piece of the puzzle!

How can I change X10 design?

Hi and good morning.
I have seen on the thread, "post your X10 screen" or something like that. And I have seen some that have a different WiFi icon, battery in right corner. How do I change that? Is it custom ROMs or what?
Thanks for all help.

Hi.
See the tutorial link in my signature, it's really quite easy to do.
Do I have to start with ADB for noobs: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=532719 and install Droid Explorer?
And then "Three tutorials for modifying your x10 OS aesthetically" and then: "framework-res Icon Pack (Modding)"?
Thanks
EDIT: Im not getting a notification of Android ADB when i plug in my USB. I have tried to download USBdeview and see if there is HTC Android, but there is not.
I have a Xperia X10i phone and the only thing that is listed is "Sony Ericsson sa0101 ADB Interface Driver" and "Sony Eri Memory Stick USB Device".
When I uninstall ADB Interface driver nothing happens. Just freeze for a couple of seconds but thats it.
Whats wrong?
Can someone help me?

Hello All!
After much frustration with setting up ADB i finally got it working. Everyone said its simple and takes minimal knowledge but when things dont work, nothing really worked. Anyways after 2 hours of research trying to get ADB to work i finally got it all working and wanted to share my knowledge to anyone else that needed help.
This Guide is for windows only. If you are using Mac OS X please go here: ADB For Dummies
If you are using Linux please go here: [HOW-TO]Set up Android SDK/ADB/Fastboot on Ubuntu Linux

Things you need:
Android SDK - Download
Winrar - Download (32bit) Download (64bit)
Windows PC
USB Cable
A Rooted HTC Dream (Google G1)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Setting up the Android SDK
Download the file from above
Unzip to your desktop
Take the "android-sdk-windows" folder and move it to the root of your hard drive (C:\)
Right click on My Computer and click properties
Select the Advanced Tab or Advanced System Setting (Vista/Windows 7)
Select Environment Variables...
Press New
For Variable Name type: adb
For Variable Value type: C:\android-sdk-windows\tools
Now,
1. Run SDK Manager.exe located in the android-sdk-windows folder
2. If it gives you an error go to settings and click on "Force http//....."
3. Select all options and let it download and install
If you cant get the setup to work, Download the USB-DRIVERS folder - HERE (Windows XP/Vista/Windows 7)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Preparing your phone for ADB
Go to Settings on your phone
Select Applications
Select Development
Make sure 'USB Debugging' is checked
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Installing Drivers
Plug in your phone through USB and DO NOT MOUNT IT!!!!!
Your computer should see a new device and try to install Android 1.0 driver (If it doesnt, scroll down to the "Im not getting a notification of Android ADB when i plug in my USB" section)
Let it load
Once it cant find them select "Install drivers from my pc"
The drivers you need are in the Android SDK 1.5r2 folder (C:\android-sdk-windows\usb_driver)
Depending on your OS pick x86 or amd64
You ADB Android Device should now be installed! Good Job
For Android SDK 1.5r7+
1. Run SDK Manager.exe
2. If it gives you an error go to settings and click on "Force http//....."
3. Select all options and let it download and install
If you cant get the setup to work, Download the USB-DRIVERS folder - HERE (Windows XP/Vista/Windows 7)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Check if your phone is detected by ADB
Open up Command Prompt (Go to run, type in cmd, press enter)
Type in
Code:
cd C:\android-sdk-windows\tools === Press Enter
adb devices === You should see your device listed
adb shell === you should see # in the next line
Now you are all set to run adb commands
Note: for a list of commands type in 'adb' in cmd
CONGRATS YOU NOW HAVE ADB FULLY RUNNING!

It would be an idea to read the three tutorials yes and the packs are there for you to use when you've learned how to edit apks. If the adb driver is already installed I'm not sure why you're removing it, you need it to use adb.

[Q] ADB with CM7

Has anyone been able to access their touchpad via ADB on with CM7 Alpha?
If so, what's the trick. I'm running Win7 Pro 32bit, Android SDK is installed with the latest Java 1.7 and USB debugging is on and displayed in notification.
FYI - I'm used to using ADB with my droid eris on GSB so I've tried most of the known stuff. Are there ADB drivers for the TouchPad around?
Thanks in advance.
All ADB drivers are in essence the same, you should be able to use the official ones Google releases with any device.
To get ADB running with my TouchPad(Windows 7 x64) I had a USB Mass Storage Device with the hardware id(USB\VID_0BB4&PID_0C02&REV_0227) I had to go an change the device driver to a USB Composite Device, once I did that the ADB interface showed up and I was able to install the driver.
The mass storage device I changed was this one (USB\VID_0BB4&PID_0C02&REV_0227) and not this one (USB\VID_0BB4&PID_0C02&REV_0227&MI_00).
Here is a link to the Official ADB Google driver http://api.ge.tt/0/8FtSNo8/0/blob/download you may need to force the driver to install.
Worked perfect. Thanks!
adbWireless ftw. No need for cables/drivers.
https://market.android.com/details?id=siir.es.adbWireless&feature=search_result
This worked for me. No modded .ini file or driver needed.
It detected and installed the"USB Composite Device" automatically.

adb.exe 1.0.26 vs. 1.0.29: Cannot connect

Hi,
i have the latest android sdk installed on my pc. If i try to connect my new Yuandao N101 tablet it is not recognized by adb.exe devices. adb.exe is version 1.0.29.
If i kill the adb service and start adb 1.0.26 from SuperOnClick rooter it recognizes the device and rooting works without problems.
As device driver for adb i am using the one included in PDAnet.
I tried to exchange the adb.exe in the android sdk with the 1.0.26 version. After this eclipse/adb recognize the device and are able to install apk files and start them. But after this the connection breaks. Seems that current sdk is unable to work with adb 1.0.26.
Any idea how i can make it for adb 1.0.29 to work with my tablet?
Best regards, Udo
Hi,
no one an idea? I tried a lot today but still am unable to get the yuandao n101 to work with adb 1.0.29. It just did not recognize the tablet.
With adb 1.0.26 everything seems fine - but i have to use the current android sdk. Someon an alternative driver out there?
BTW: I am using Windows Vista x64
Ciao, Udo
Thanks so much for posting this.

AVD manager doesn't show up the phone

Hello xda members.
If I subscribed to these forums this is because i think i have checked every solutions found on google and nothing worked for me So I hope someone will solved my problem ^^
I try to connect my phone to develop android apps.
Informations before you ask :
- debugging mode is activated
- windows recognise the phone in device manager "Sony ericsson sa0102 ADB interface driver"
- the command line "adb services" list my device
>adb devices
List of devices attached
CB511QFJ40 device
But in my AVD manager (using eclipse or directly from the .exe file) the device is not listed...
What I don't understand is that avd manager is supposed to execute "adb devices" to display the phone isn't it ?
I seriously doubt that the problem comes from the AVD manager, so that's why I'm asking.
Also, in Android debut monitor (monitor.bat), the device is displayed with all the application installed.
I really don't know where i should search now.
Cfg :
Windows 7 64 bits
Java 1.6 (32 & 64 bits)
Cyanogenmod 7.2 (Android 2.3.7)
Thanks and have a nice day.
Solved : My bad, AVD manager doesn't list external devices... Feelling so stupid..

ADB driver?

Guys can someone tell me where can I find the ADB driver for my Sony XZ1?
Is this the right thing to download? https://developer.sony.com/file/down...-xz1-driver-2/
I don't want to do complicated things, just enable Andromeda
Just use the regular ADB driver (from any adb installer for example)
Don't forget to turn off the driver signature in Windows [emoji6]
