Please Help me! - Vibrant Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I have Galaxy S Korean Version and tried to use it in the U.S with AT&T sim that I have. However, the korean version does not support unicode for sms so that I tried to install U.S. version of galaxy s firmware.
I followed the process (vibrant - > captivate) using odin and some tar files but now it is perfectly brick. ;( I cannot turn it on or recovery mode, or anything.
Anybody can help? please

You can not turn it on as in no power? Take out the battery, SIM and SD. Plug it in to the Adapter and see if it boots up.
*In the future please post this in the General Section not Development.*

Check out this link, it should help.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=731989

no power at all. I cannot do anything with it.
I felt it did not contain any battery power so I charged it and left it connected almost 5 hrs but it is still the same. no power + no button works.
samsung service in korea said stuck from rooting causes service fee of at least 150 $ to repair lol ;

if no power they cannot prove root take it back to carrier get it exchanged.

Stock Galaxy S II (No root) stuck in flight mode

I got my Galaxy S II about 3 days ago and love it. Apart from some annoyances (I'm looking at you Touchwiz) no problems... installed Launcherpro and here we go
Today I woke up and bam. Flight mode.
Factory reset
Wipe USB storage and SD card
Wipe cache from recovery (stock recovery)
No change.
So now I have a very fancy Samsung Galaxy II Player. I called tech support and they asked me to try another sim (which I had done) then told me to clear the cache (which I had done) blah blah... then they ended up telling me to send it back to Amazon as faulty.
Great, just great.
Anyone else had this problem?
Nope, haven't had this.

I'm wondering... if I flashed an update.zip from stock recovery if the issue might go away... it's clearly software.
Just need to find an update.zip file....
Also something quirky is happening with regards to lock screens. Had unlock pattern enabled and then switched off however it still remains on but only needs a press on the screen to unlock.
Personally wouldn't try flashing if it's being funky. Last thing you want is to get stuck with non standard firmware if you still need to return it.

I want to flash and official update...
p.s.
This sounds similar except I can't turn Aeroplane mode on or off.

I have the same problem with the phone that I bought today (a problem I noticed after 15 minutes of purchase). Tomorrow I bring it to a Samsung service center to confirm it as DOA so I can do the replacement for the operator ... I am disappointed that I was wasting my time on these things ...
p.s after I try code *2767*3855# a have no problems for last hour...
today i have problems again and I replace my galaxy...I hav new one without any problems...
I have a somewhat similar problem.
My Galaxy S II randomly goes into flight mode every now and then. It's not a permanent thing like what you guys experience, but it is an annoyance.
Couple that with the "wifi sharing" bug and I think we can say that Samsung has some faulty radio firmware in the Galaxy S II.
flash the generic xeu of ke7 from here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278
this was tried but didn't work. Even a new radio package was flashed . Didn't help.
SGS2 running India distribution 2.3.3, unlocked. Not rooted. Stuck in flight mode, becacuse IMEI # cannot be read. Help !
could it be efs partition corruption?
It probably is /efs corruption. How do I recover it ?
Posting on behalf of my brother..
He to has this problem. Nothing we do fix's this resetting to factory defaults changing sim card formatting memory card..
Since it's done this.. it uses the battery from a full charge to near empty within ~5 hours
Bought 29th Aug 2011
They wont honor the warranty even though it broke down at only 2 months old.

Have you gone through Samsung directly? (Register on their website and request a repair).
I had this problem just now. Couldn't get it out of flight mode. Saying no sim etc...
The way I fixed it was to remove the sim and battery, replace them, turn the phone back on, the hold the power button to bring up the power options and press turn off flight mode. It now works again.
Not good that after I googled this problem it seems to be quite common.

I have this issue too, bloody annoying. I did a kernal update and I hope that fixes it. But will give your method ago.
My post is here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=21557309#post21557309
I had an interesting problem. My phone sometime stuck on flight mode. I had to restart device 4-5 times to disable flight mode(flight mode menu becomes transparent or untouchable). After a while button becomes enable and phone starts normally. But it's annoying problem.
Now I'm using Lite'ning Rom v1.1 XXLPH. Even in stock LPH,LPB, KK5 2.3.6.... every firmware I had same problems occasionally.
What's the problem? There is nothing wrong with IMEI (but I can't see IMEI in flight mode).
go in it recovery and clear data and then go to fix permissions

So is there a simple solution for this anoying problem, or it cames back every time ?
With Android 4.0 or 4.1 is the same?
I need to know as I am thinking of buying one that as this problem, at a good price.
Should i buy it?
thanks
Have you tried to reflash with kies?
I believe there is a recover option there? Atleast that wont get your waranty voided.
Never actually tried it since i only use heimdall & odin but might be worth a try!

kalpa108: galaxy gt i9003 stuck in flight mode, not reading SIM...and not recognised by recent version of KIES. Factory Reset does not fix this, device is not rooted, yet, but there's always a 1st time! Can this be done w/o any connection? Trying to download old KIES versions too.
Any layman ideas?

[Q] Samsung Galaxy Player 5 Bricked? Help please!

I recently bought a Samsung Galaxy Player 5 / S Wifi 5.0 / YP-G70 from eBay (International Version). I tried flashing a Samsung Galaxy S I9000 Gingerbread ROM to it with Odin v1.3 and now it won't even light up or turn on. I thought it might work because the device is just like the I9000 without the phone. My device even tried looking for a cellular signal when it clearly did not have the phone capabilities. Now I'm afraid that I spent all this money for nothing.
I've tried every button combination to try to enter download mode and have tried a USB jig from eBay, but since the device doesn't light up or turn on I can't tell if anything has worked aside from Odin not recognizing the device.
Please help!
Update 1:
I've tried Heimdall and that too does not recognize the device. I've also opened the device up and tried buttons combinations with and without the battery and plugging in the device to my computer. Still no success. I think it still "works" because when I plug it in to charge, the back gets warm.
Update 2:
Okay, so I've placed an order to MobileTechVideos.com for their JTAG repair service. From other posts, I've concluded that I probably messed up the bootloader. I'll see how this goes.
Update 3:
Unfortunately MTV wasn't able to repair my device so I got a refund. They'll notify me if they get one working.
Update 4:
MTV found a working solution! I just received my repaired device in the mail today and it works like brand new! XD
go to nearest service center that would be helpful for u !

[Q] Wi-Fi 5.0 Keeps rebooting

Hi,
I have a Samsung galaxy Wi-Fi 5.0 16 GB model:YP-G70EW (I think it was this update G70XXKPH)
What did I do you ask?
Click settings-about-check for updates it found one clicked okay it started to download and finished the installation
and my device keeps on rebooting. I see the Samsung logo from 19 seconds,
what should I do?
Thanks in advance.
You probably need to wipe your data and cache partition. That can be done by booting into recovery mode (Home+Vol Up+Power).
Thanks for your fast response, but the (home+volume up+power) does nothing
(Power+volup) I selected -wipe cache partition- did not work, so I chose to -wipe data/factory reset- no help also anymore tips?
By the way, in the android system recovery<3e> window. I see something else weird, This is exactly what it says
– – Copying media files...
Successfully copied meida files.
#Manual mode#
– – Applying Multi-csc...
Successfully applied multi–CSC.
I know that my English is that good but do you see something weird here or is it just me?
Does it even get into android or does it just keep rebooting from the samsung logo?
I don't think so, it shows the Samsung logo for 19 seconds(19 sec every time)and reboots.
I can't even shut the device down. Try to contact Samsung support but no response yet it's been almost 24 hours.
PS. Can anybody give me some e-mail addresses for Samsung support you can PM if you want.
Thx.

If you hold the power button it should shut it down.
The shutdown button did work, only after 10 seconds holding down luckily the screen stays on for 19 sec.

if you try flashing a kernel and rom meant for your device it should work again.. it sounds like something just got messed up with the flashing process (which does happen occasionally).

Hi guys,
well I just got an e-mail from samsung support that I should get it serviced to get the issue fixed(after 2 e-mails they answered back, well… It's something)
They send a link http://www.samsung.com/us/support/service/request,
so I choose option 1
model code: ?? YP-G70EW but I don't see my code on their site, what the hell should I do with this.
e-mail address: (at least I know this one.LOL)
I wonder if I should have gone through Samsung Belgium
address http://www.samsung.com/be/ another problem I can't even find this product their! Or model number
Could you guys give me some tips what to do.
And bit more information about my product
Samsung galaxy Wi-Fi 5.0 16GB (with the physical bottom) so the international one(right?)
model number: YP-G70EW
And which version of Oden versions should I use, and link please.
which kernel and rom should I use link also please.
damn, I'm demanding today
First: If you really want to flash a ROM, your guarantee expires.
The version with the physical Homebutton is the international.
You should always use the newest version of Odin.
Here is the link:
http:// www.google.com/url? sa=t&rct=j&q = & esrc=s&source=web&cd=2&sqi=2&ved=0CDwQFjAB&url=http%3A%2F%2Fforum.xda-developers.com%2Fattachment.php %3Fattachmentid%3D581913%26d%3D1304094576&ei=xGh0T-_ AEqGr0QXO1JX3Dw&usg=AFQjCNF7sF0f2yJp0IxHp1ISlP2fzGKhtw
And here the links to the Stock ROMs:
France: http:// www.sammobile.com/firmware/? Page=3&t=1&o=1&m=YP-G70&r=1 #
Italy: http:// www.sammobile.com/firmware/? Page=3&t=1&o=1&m=YP-G70&r=1 #
Sweden: http:// www.sammobile.com/firmware/? Page=3&t=1&o=1&m=YP-G70&r=1 #
I know that Belgium is not included in the list, but the ROMs should work with your device.
I've had the same exact issue as yours except I decided to fix it myself rather then check it in to be serviced.
I was a complete noob when doing it and I've managed to soft-brick my device during the process, but it was fun and I quickly learned to unbrick it and flashed a new stock ROM.
That was an awesome journey into Android I recommend to anyone (recommend; no responsibilities tho).
Anyway if you decide to take this path, beware that there are several versions of the Galaxy player 5.0 (US, Europe and others), you must verify that the ROM you're about to flash matches your device version, otherwise you'll eat ****.
Anyway checkout my post and its replies, I'm sure it will be valuable to you:

I have a galaxy player 4.0 and it keeps rebooting and it's because I tried to install a custom boot logo. I can still go in download mode and Odin mode but does anyone know a custom bootloader I can install so I can access the files on my device because if I can delete the file I want to then it will work again.

A loading what?
Is it stuck on the splash, bootloop,?
What were you doing before the issue happened?
How long ago did you get your phone?
Did you try to root, install a certain app, or anything else prior to the issue?
Some more info will help.
Is the phone new, used, etc etc
Power and volume up gets you into Recovery.
You have to release buttons as soon as you see Recovery Booting in blue words upper left.
Power and volume down gets you into ODIN/Download mode

Do you have a Samsung T-Mobile S4 M919
Or
Do you have a Vibrant?
If you have a Vibrant, you're in the wrong Forum.
Did you flash a ROM for a Vibrant incorrectly to your S4?
Your pic is fuzzy and it's hard to tell, but it looks like it may not be an S4.

Galaxy Tab S6 SM-T865N using Odin To flash other country firmware on it

Hello,
I've purchased a Galaxy Tab S6 (SM-T865N) International version, mainly to use it with with 4G in US on Xfinity Mobile. I received the tablet, inserted the SIM card and it was working 'relatively' on the network. Every now & then I would get a message 'failed to register to network', but for the most part, mobile data is working.
Since it is a Korea version, certain things don't work. Nothing major, but I would like to make it perfect. Certain User update posts in the Galaxy store display in Korean Language, and the weather app is slightly limited, with the error 'not available outside of Korea'.
I did some searching and found other firmware available for this exact model on Sammobile. My country (US) is not supported, but I would like to try the UK firmware, if nothing else, to fix some of the language issues. I downloaded the UK firmware package and Odin (3.13 & 3.14.1). I installed the Samsung drivers. I booted the tablet into recovery by holding 'power & volume up' then connected it to the computer. Odin WILL NOT found the tablet. I rebooted into the normal OS and connected it and Odin then found it, but obviously that doesn't work. I can not get Odin to connect while in recovery.
Does anyone have suggestions on what might be happening?
And maybe all this effort isn't worth it either, hard telling whether it'll work better or worse with the UK firmware on it. Any tips?
It's been several years since I did this sort of thing, so I'm a little rusty. I thought this would be a simple procedure.
it sounds to me like you are not putting it into download / Odin mode, but I could be wrong. I haven't tried to use Odin on this tablet yet, but was actually about to do this same thing as well, as my device has an origin CSC of singapore, and hasn't had an official update in almost 2 months, so I was going to flash the UK version as well.
---------- Post added at 07:58 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:51 PM ----------
So I just tested it on my tablet, here is what you need to do:
Power off the device
Press and hold the Volume up button and then press and hold the power button
When you see the initial boot screen, release the power button, but keep holding volume button
When you get to the recovery screen, you need to use the volume up / down buttons to highlight the option that has "bootloader" in the title, and press the power button to select it.
Then you should see a screen that says "Download" or something like that.
Plug in USB, and Odin should see the device.
Yeah, you're booting into recovery, you need to boot into Download mode - Hold both volume up and down whilst inserting the USB-C cable to enter Download mode.
Your correct

Your Correct. Device needs to be plugged into the pc for it to boot to the screen that shows all the info. I wonder why they made this a requirement. Its very unintuitive. I also didn't see it documented anywhere. How did you find out about this ? Thanks again for the help!

IF you mean did I succeed in flashing it through Odin then yes BUT unfortunately I couldn't get it to reboot correctly & it takes a lot of time trying to reboot but still no luck. So, I took it to a repair shop & they told me it needs new motherboard !! How can this be even possible IF I still can get it to connect to Odin and download the firmware successfully BUT no luck in getting it to reboot correctly!!

Have you tried reflashing the old firmware of your country? Weird that its not working.
I did try that and managed to flash it successfully to the old firmware using Odin but unfortunately I still couldn't get it past a full reboot as it got stuck after a long time and it takes me to the Android System Recovery screen wherein also tried to 'wipe cache partition.’ and try reboot again but I still end up with the recovery screen!

Can't you put in a warranty claim ? Here where i am based i had a new battery, and new screen installed from samsung! this was a Galaxy S8+ was well over 2 years old they did it for free! New screen and new battery! My Note 9 is going this monday for a new battery my Tab S6 works flawlessly so don't need to send that in! but i'm sure if you ring up Samsung they will replace the motherboard for free as it's not even 12 months old!
