Playing videos from news apps CBS MSNBC

I have CBS and MSNBC news apps installed. I get a message saying "cannot play this video" when trying to open any video from either app. I don't know what the formats are for these videos or what internal player is trying to open these videos. I have numerous video players installed on my phone and everything works fine except for these links. Anyone have any ideas where to look? Thanks

I fixed it by making the built in player the default video player and now they work!

[Q] flac playback

Hi all,
I seem to be having trouble with flac playback.
The music app (the new google one) seems to be able to read all the info in the flac files, including length and album cover... everything's there, but when you hit play there's no sound...
I've had a look at other players on the market that say they support flac and the same thing happens. (or they even think the files are like 200 hours long or something weird)
Has anybody else had any trouble with flac on the x10?
Thanks in advance,
Russ
look for Mplayer on xda

Just tried it myself. I keep getting FCs out the yin-yang on that app for some reason. Worked great on OG Droid. Have you tried any of the VLC streaming apps yet? VLC supports MKV container, it's just sometimes you have to set the default audio channel. That is probably the reason why we can't get any audio out of the MKV files though, no way to set the defaults (yet).
Got it working. I moved the media off the /mnt/sdcard-ext and put onto /mnt/sdcard and it worked. My removable card is a class 10, so it should not have had any problems. Try moving your video over to see if that works.
If I select soft decoding it works ok with moboplayer would the file size matter its a 2gb file

I don't think the filesize matters. I tried three different files as well as one I created with multiple audio tracks. Still trying to figure out how to change audio.
try QQplayer. thats what i use and it workds great for any quality mkv.
